1641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Think I've had my Bitcoin QT wallet hacked on: November 26, 2013, 06:31:19 PM
Only thing I can say is Bitcoin-Qt is unstable at best on Mac.  I don't trust it as far as I could throw it.
1642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin asics ever be cofigured to mine other sha coins? on: November 26, 2013, 05:35:07 PM
as per title. is it possible for bfl little singles? maybe in future?

Yes.  Definitely.  In the past as well.  SHA256 is SHA256.  I've mined SHA256 with Block Erupters, Blades, Jalapeno, BlueFurys.  But, why you'd want to anyway - mining BTC is the least risky way of doing things.
1643  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFL easy miner , CG or BFG on: November 26, 2013, 05:19:09 PM
Not really, no.  Some have advantages over others.
1644  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Jalapeno replacement fan recommendations? on: November 26, 2013, 11:15:26 AM
Best I have found is the Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM Slim 92mm, I fit them to all the Jallys I have worked on when you need much needed noise reduction Wink

Cheers, ordered a couple.  I use the 140mm version in my PC-Q25B-based server box and it seems to work OK. Smiley

No problems here.  Had a very brief blip about an hour ago, but bfgminer didn't even change to backup pool.
1646  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: (UK) ASICMiner Cube 30Gh/s to 38Gh/s (worldwide) on: November 26, 2013, 09:57:32 AM

I think I'd be waiting on OutCast3K's GB for these - he's the official ASICMiner distributor for the UK, and a trusted and proven supplier.

Hmm...9 days later, and still I'm sticking by my post above.

1647  Bitcoin / Hardware / Jalapeno replacement fan recommendations? on: November 26, 2013, 09:48:37 AM
Quick question - anyone recommend replacement fans for the Jalapeno?

I have a 5GH unit in the post I'm going to blow some better firmware on to, and a 7GH unit on it's way.  Looking at previous threads, the standard fans look a bit shitty.

I was thinking the 92mm Scythe Kama Flow 2.  Anyone got any thoughts?  Huh
1648  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Odd start up of Slush Proxy. on: November 26, 2013, 08:34:32 AM
No .NET Framework installed.

It's a brilliant error message, how could you NOT know that "It's side-by-side configuration is incorrect" actually means ".NET Framework isn't installed or is broken".  Roll Eyes

I was just pointing out your omissions.   Wink
1650  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [Guide]How To Setup ASICMiner Blades/Cubes on: November 25, 2013, 10:30:56 PM

However if you are running on a 192.168.0.1 subnet will be 255.255.254.0.

Incorrect assumption.

I work on networks my self as my JOB.

I wish I had a penny for every time I heard that while I'm on site for two days clearing up the mess left after a 'professional' has gone and fucked everything up leaving a trail of destruction and misconfiguration.
1651  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [Guide]How To Setup ASICMiner Blades/Cubes on: November 25, 2013, 10:09:00 PM

Most people and routers run on a 192.168.1.x subnet. that is why i didn't say anything about that.

I've been working with networks since Windows for Workgroups and the days of Trumpet Winsock.  Most private subnets I've seen are 192.168.0.x - but hey, don't let me stop you making massive assumptions that make your guide pointless.

You also didn't set the PC's IP address to static, so there's a good chance that on DHCP the IP will change, which will bugger up the Blades.

Do you really want me to continue walking you through your mistakes?

Any more word on the Cubes?

Considering you haven't proven yourself with the ASICMiner Cube group buy, I think I'll be passing on this one.  My Scammer radar is still flashing...

I'm going to order a Blade as soon as I get my BTC gathered together, should be a few days.  Please reserve one for me Oc3K. Smiley
1655  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: How do you run BFGminer as a blade proxy?? on: November 25, 2013, 01:42:29 PM
You need to specify which port you want, for example --http-port 8330

Just adding --http-port won't work.

michael@bfgminer-proxy:~/bfgminer$ ./bfgminer --http-port 8330
 [2013-11-25 07:29:19] ./bfgminer: --http-port: unrecognized option
michael@bfgminer-proxy:~/bfgminer$

The point of me showing it without the port was to show the output. With the output stating unrecognized option shows it was not compiled with it.

My question is how to get it compiled with it. The readme states it is enabled by default.

Oh, excuse me for not spotting that you'd intentionally butchered the syntax for effect.  Roll Eyes

As nwoolls says, you need to have libmicrohttpd installed too - I'm pretty sure it's listed in the dependencies (was the last time I looked, because I remember having to install it).
1656  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [Guide]How To Setup ASICMiner Blades/Cubes on: November 25, 2013, 01:32:13 PM
Suggest that you also include bfgminer proxy info. It's a better proxy also.

This.

OP missed an important step - you went to the effort of getting the IP address, but you didn't say anything about having to change it to a 192.168.1.x subnet.  In fact, without that step, checking the existing IP was a pointless exercise.   Also "Run as Administrator" isn't really required at all.

Also worst "I've got an ASICMiner Cube" thread ever.

Fair effort OP, I'll give it a "C+" Try harder next time".

I don't see any problem, apart from some missing lacquer, which probably came off when you were removing the resistors.

Any updates on the faulty units?

Waiting for them to be sent.

I sent mine to you on Wednesday?  Huh

I've received yours and many others, I meant I am waiting for them to send the replacements to myself, sorry for not being clearer.
