No dwolla did not lose money.  afik they reversed the charges on all the exchanges who where send money from the scammed account.

Dwolla prevents new accounts that have not been funded for more then thirty day from sending to Mt. Gox and other bitcoin related receivers.  They are flagged as "high risk."

This was how dwolla was getting scammed before they brought Trade Hill down and change their TOS and added this policy.

I will Give you $297 Mt Gox but unless you Gox account is new and has not been funded for more then 30 Days.

Try to send you mt gox account Dwollers.  It will prevent you from sending until your 30 days  is up.

If your Dwolla account is brand new it must be funded for more then 30 days before you can traded with bitcoin related businesses.  The fee for Dwolla transfer is 1%

Charlie you and Eric and Roger and the guys on the dev team do a great job ( most of the time).  But there needs to be a concerted effort to educate the community about how to position bitcoin. And these talking points can be used regardless of whether someone is speaking on a panel, being interviewed by a journalist or just chatting with friends over cocktails. And the bitcoin PR page on the wiki is a great start!
