1681  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What happens if the block reward gets to it's minimal or lowest? on: March 01, 2023, 01:17:47 AM
I believe that the best time to start buying ASIC miners is when the next Bitcoin halving is not very far away.
I said this because I've seen many people did this with both Asics and GPU miners and they later sell their equipment when the next bear market is almost here because equipment starts losing value again, it's like a never ending circle.
I'm not really sure why you said buying when the next halving is not far away is the best time. Are you assuming the profits for the next few months would be massive and allows them to get back their investment so quickly?

As far as I know, there are many factors that can influence your buying decision, including whether you have access to cheap electricity or not. If you do, anytime can be a good time to buy mining rigs. CMIIW.

My actual question is, what will happen with Bitcoin mining in future? Will this ever head one day? because blocks reward getting shrink every circle must end on day, or am I not getting a part about Bitcoin mining?
I suggest you search for discussion about block rewards or mining rewards in this sub-board, or Bitcoin discussion. Your worries have been discussed many times before, you might be able to learn something new from those threads. In short, the market will always look for equilibrium. Miners will come and go, difficulty will always change to balance that out.
1682  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Outsmart Bitcoin Mining: heliosfund.io - We're LIVE on: March 01, 2023, 12:36:32 AM
I didn't get what i can or cannot do as a copper member but sure, you can ask us anything both here on this thread or more easily on our telegram: https://t.me/fundhelios
It mainly allows you to post images if you are still a newbie. Considering your account is already a Jr. Member account now, it is not really necessary.

Can you send me a DM sharing what do you mean with the site is not secure? Consider that we don't store fiat or crypto on our platform , as we allocate 100% of the user deposits into mining devices. Thanks.
I can see that you don't use HTTPS, or it is not active/automatically active if the user doesn't explicitly put https in front of your website address. I think this is easy to fix and doesn't cost you that much if any at all.

Btw, some of your claims are way too extraordinary. It is easy to see the way people would misunderstand you as a shady mining company since you claim that you can help users get to earn 9x from mining[1]. Not to mention you need your users to deposit money and lost control of their funds. I would never trust a platform that has ridiculous claims like that.

1683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to bridge BTC to another chains? on: February 28, 2023, 01:56:30 PM
If you "bridge" your token to another chain, you basically lose your Bitcoin and get a made-up token instead (like WBTC). Are you aware of the risk? You no longer control your BTC, and you rely on some smart contract or other parties, just like how you use a centralized exchange. Not to mention you also need to deal with volatility, trading volumes, etc for each wrapped token. There is no way to reduce this risk other than looking for other options. CMIIW.

If you really want to earn passive income from altcoins, allocate funds for that and just buy the altcoins directly. Keep your BTC for yourself, don't get tricked by some shady pools promising 50% gain per year when you can DCA on your own.

1684  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: thoughts on babylon? on: February 28, 2023, 01:48:26 PM
So if a POS chain has the ability to leverage POW/Bitcoin security, isn't that a huge advantage? Now PoS becomes more secure.
Sure, but the question still remains. Why do you need to launch a PoS chain if, in the end, you need to rely on another chain to make sure your transactions are not reversible? You can simply launch a decentralized database without any crypto at all and then chain the hash to Bitcoin or something similar. While I do agree that fast transactions can be beneficial if you want to use them for payment activities, from a security perspective this means the chain by nature is unreliable since the beginning. At the very least, the proposal for this project that you shared is not that convincing as far as I can understand it.

That being said, I can understand why some people like the idea of relying on Bitcoin when they can launch other coins and use PoS to get faster transactions. As long as they can make sure the attack does not happen before the timestamping on the BTC network is done, it might work for their purpose. The next question would then be how reliable it is. CMIIW.

1685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How is DeFI exactly Decentralized ? on: February 28, 2023, 01:33:20 PM
there are several exchanges that Claim to be decentralized but in actual sense, they are not, any decentralized exchange that would still require you to deposit your fund to their platform before you can trade is not a decentralized exchange, but a centralized exchange that uses a decentralized login system.
I'm pretty sure Forkdelta and most delta-related exchanges use smart contracts to hold the funds, so not actually similar to a centralized exchange at all. I'm not sure what constitutes decentralized and centralized login either, but almost all "DeFi" platforms use more or less similar login models. CMIIW.

It was mentioned above, so I suggest you read it more. I also agree that using the term "non-custodial" is better since most of the time we're just talking about whether we still have control over our funds or not. Many exchanges use the term "decentralized" loosely and it is unclear what line they are referring to. At one point I've seen an exchange use it to describe the nature of their servers being hosted in multiple countries, but their cold wallets are controlled just by four people.
1686  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need to better understand what market cap means on: February 28, 2023, 12:57:07 PM
"Not many people realize how important making a profit based on just movements could be and they focus on all the little details. I suggest making sure that you learn the movements by heart before you do anything else, that will definitely help you out in the long run."

Thanks.
I'm pretty sure he is referring to how people sometimes don't take a profit since the tokens they trade have a low market cap and they hope the price will increase a lot more later on. Personally, I've seen more or less the same thing. The main argument that someone (most of the time a bagholder) use is that since the market cap is so low, the necessary capital to pump the price is lower, hence the price can increase faster compared to other projects with a higher market cap.

That being said, daily trading is not for everyone. You need some capital to make sure you can gain profit consistently. On top of that, you also need good trading management, a cool head to respond to market situations, and more importantly the ability to afford to lose all of your capital if your trade went wrong IMO. So, daily trading or swing trading has its upside and downside, and understanding what market cap means can help a bit in deciding which kind of trading you wanna do.

doesn't allow links from improper sources as it turns out to be phishing links, but that's the reasons why you need to careful where you get informations from at first)
I think there is a bigger issue at hand if somebody posts phishing links randomly without knowing anything other than being banned on the forum. If that happens, pretty sure their device is probably hacked and their password/account/etc is not secured. That aside, obviously your posts will get removed/you will get banned if you share virus/malware/phishing links on the internet. That is not new, and OP or anyone should familiarize themselves with posting rules (especially since most of them are pinned) before making new posts.

I always tell beginners to read and scroll around the forum before doing anything else. There is no need to rush making posts here and there. Even if you want to rank up quickly, you're still gated by activity and merit. You need to make meaningful posts in the first place, and I doubt you can do that without being aware of the forum rules.
1688  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Thought one of my online wallets was hacked and robbed on: February 27, 2023, 02:12:02 PM
Funny how they went straight to the one and only well paying Blockchain wallet without even touching the other three which I never gave a shit about and had little security.
I think it is fair to assume that all of your wallets are compromised if at some point you accessed them from the same device. Better move all of your funds to a new wallet asap, better to be safe than sorry. Make sure you use a secure device or at least reinstall your system. We probably won't be able to find out how exactly they got your wallet, just make sure you don't rely on centralized service in the future and improve your security practices even if you feel you're doing it pretty well already.
1689  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency are spreading out now in our country nationwide on: February 27, 2023, 02:00:36 PM
   -   Yes it is from the Philippines mate, I was just happy because the mortgages and remittances in cryptocurrency and bitcoin were accepted.
Do you mean you can pay your mortgage in bitcoin or is it converted into local currency previously?
Good question. As far as I can tell, there is no explicit mention that their partners will accept crypto. Not to mention it is basically an OTC/exchange service. Their partnership nature is not clear either. Do you find other news/mentions from those websites regarding this issue? I can't find one on Monebeeys website. On their terms[1] page, If I understood it correctly, partners just refer to those who have business partnerships and most of them are related to offering a spot for OTC transactions[1].

1690  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need to better understand what market cap means on: February 27, 2023, 01:34:24 PM
Let's say that, the token has now a price of 0.002$
can we infer from this that , as the price of the token has been divided by 20, it means that the amount of money in the project
has been more or less divided by 20, and that there is currently only 240000/20 = 12000$ left in the project ?
I'm not really sure I get what you're trying to say, but I think you're mistaken in calculating the money the team gets when they do a public sale vs the value of the project itself. Most public sales participants or just buyers in general would use other currencies to buy the tokens. For simplicity's sake, let's say they use ETH. It means that at the time the sale ends, the team gets $240k in ETH. They can decide to sell some of them or keep them depending on their needs, it has no connection to the token market cap at all.

In an unlikely scenario, they might convert some of them to their own tokens, but that is almost impossible unless the team is so dumb. Almost every project will allocate some tokens to the team, so there is no incentive for them to convert those ETH to their own token. In short, the team/project is likely going to be fine in the short-medium term even if the token price plummets that hard. The buyers are the ones who got screwed.
1691  Other / Meta / Re: Whats Goingon On Bitcointalk forum? on: February 27, 2023, 12:14:24 PM
How did you post your review? If you have sufficient proof make a new thread on scam accusations[1]. Follow the proper rule to post the thread and explain your story there. Sometimes a seller will use a self-moderated thread to remove malicious posts so the fault does not lie on the moderator. Make sure to keep it in mind just in case you want to buy from somebody else in the future.

From my experience in this forum, no staff would encourage scammers. In fact, almost all members would actively try to hinder their activities with trust feedback, flags, etc.

1692  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: how much the budget on: February 26, 2023, 02:54:14 PM
i will add more service to my business.
That's fair, but I believe starting so many different businesses at the same time is not gonna make it. Not to mention what you're looking for might cost a lot, which might not be worth the cost compared to expanding your existing business and making it more profitable. That being said, I'm not an expert on business management either so you do you.

I think there is no other option other than following what has been suggested above. Ask for the price on the freelance marketplace or Services board if you don't know the market price. Don't just believe one source, wait for others to bid. Also, I suggest you keep it open to the public unless someone with a trade history sent you a PM. A lot of scammers are sending phishing links or even fake prices (which are usually very cheap but they don't accept escrow as a guarantee) nowadays. At the very least others can verify if someone is asking for ridiculously expensive prices or suspiciously cheap prices.
1693  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] | Best Bitcoin Mixer | Low fees | Fully automated on: February 26, 2023, 01:43:37 PM
Just asking question out of the blues, why we need privacy based browsers when we use mixing services or it is just an optional way to add more privacy to our transactions?
In general, IMO it is a good thing to add a layer of privacy regardless if you're trying to mix or not. If your ISP provider tracks you and logs the websites you visited, it can be a nightmare if those data got leaked and abused by other parties, or even your ISP in general. Such as blocking your access to some websites, an increase in scam e-mails, profiling, etc. On the other side, you can also argue that hiding your real IP address, in general, allows you to keep being trustless in the sense that you don't need to rely on the hope that Yomix or other mixers don't abuse your IP data or something similar. It is a win-win solution.

If using TOR really makes any difference then definitely we should have it either published on the YoMix site as well as have the corner of Signature code updated displaying TOR or relevant browser name for additional security or whatever purpose it may solve.
Nice suggestion. That being said, most users who use service like a mixer is usually well aware of how important privacy for their activity is. So using ToR is usually a requirement for them.
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 4090 and others on: February 26, 2023, 01:25:39 PM
I think that this is a useless thing that is impossible to mine coins and play, due to poor cooling and the impossibility of self-repair. For 600 dollars I will assemble an excellent computer from components. My computer will be bigger, but I have no problems with the installation space.
According to some discussions I found on Reddit and other social media, most miners agree that Mac is not the best hardware if you are looking for profit. Most of them consider mining on Mac just for fun and supporting the network, since their latest processor, while powerful for many tasks is not good enough for mining. I personally own a Macbook Air. It is a good device for office work, light gaming, content creation, etc, but I'd never consider mining on it. I don't think it changes with Mac Mini since most of the time they perform at the same range. The key differences are extra cooling and no battery.

An image of the GeForce RTX 4090 with turbine cooling appeared on the network
https://en.gamegpu.com/game/v-seti-poyavilos-izobrazhenie-geforce-rtx-4090-s-turbinnym-okhlazhdeniem
Is this type of cooling still popular? I thought most companies and buyers prefer open-air fans or liquid cooling systems nowadays. AFAIK, blower-type cooling can be very loud, hence why it is not the most popular choice. I'm not sure about the performance but from skim-reading several articles there doesn't seem to be a big difference unless we compare it to liquid cooling. I guess the price is the key factor when a miner wants to buy GPUs since most of the time they are not that bothered by loud noise. CMIIW.
1695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to write a javascript based monero mining algorithm? on: February 26, 2023, 01:02:51 PM
So, you're trying to host a javascript-mining website that uses your visitors' resources to mine and send the profits to your address? Or are you trying to run your own cloud mining service? Both of them are terrible services and most of the time is known for scams. I'll try to be positive here and not jump to conclusion that you want to build a malware site that tricks visitors to mine with their computers.

If you do find a free mining script, I won't be surprised if it runs other malicious scripts without notifying you. Your best bet is probably to commission some developer to build the script for you. If you want to mine and earn Monero without doing any of that, just mine with a rig and mining software.

My other question: How can I write my own javascript based monero mining algorithm from scratch? Any lesson, training set, book, etc. about what I want. I couldn't find it. If there is a training set that explains in this way, can you write it?
Well, you will need to know some Javascript at least. There is no dedicated book/article that explains it since mining script is a niche program compared to other Javascript applications. If you don't want to learn from the big picture, your best option would be to find an existing Javascript mining algorithm software and then learn from there. Find out what this or that function does, ask around if you don't understand the flow of the algorithm, etc.
1696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto/Defi Tax Provider on: February 26, 2023, 12:31:28 PM
What do you mean by "DeFi"? Are you talking about participating in liquidity pools, staking, farming, etc on an altcoin chain? If that's the case, I've never seen one other than those mentioned above (note that I never actively try to look for one either). Most of the time these service providers talk about trades done on exchanges, at least those that I'm aware of. They use DeFi regularly, but it also strictly limits trading on decentralized exchanges.

Have you Googled it on your own? It seems like there are a decent of options right now (Taxbit, Bear, Zenledger, etc). I don't know how reliable they are since I never use one.

Also you could use Binance Ive just remembered that they just recently announced their Binance Tax feature, just check their blog post about the details.
CMIIW, this newly announced service is limited to France for now. That being said, the Binance tax tool already exists but it only helps with exporting trades history afaik. It still doesn't sound like what OP is looking for though.

1697  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Adakah Mixer Untuk Altcoin? on: February 25, 2023, 04:31:05 PM

1698  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Hardware Wallet on: February 25, 2023, 04:23:12 PM

tapi balik lagi, milih hw wallet bukan dr sisi design, tp keamanannya  Grin

1699  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Bulan Literasi Kripto (BLK) on: February 25, 2023, 03:46:13 PM
