1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying a video card for the next mining season on: February 19, 2023, 03:13:27 PM
I have never seen a performance upgrade from the driver updates but those driver updates were requirements from the mining software like lolminer etc that needed the last driver to continue performing with the same stability and performance.
I don't know about gaming/rendering performance from the driver updates but for mining with Nvidia 2000 or 3000 series it is basically a set and forget experience even if you are running a not that stable operating system like Windows is and I am running my rig in Windows 10.
I see. Is there any reason why the mining software requires the latest driver if there is no performance improvement then? Can't they just continue developing on the stable version/previous version and then just release a new one if there a driver updates that change the performance/efficiency or something similar? Or do miners always update their GPU drivers so they have to always keep it up with them?

Of course, the developer of the miners writes which version of the drivers to use. Even in our forum section, some miners complained about the low hashrate until they thought of reading the readme file and updating the drivers. But the problem is that many developers do not optimize software for 1000 and 2000 series.
I can understand why they always optimize for the latest generation graphic cards since miners (at least the big ones) will buy the latest cards when it is available. Unfortunately, the same thing happens when it comes to gaming performance updates for older cards. It seems manufacturers like Nvidia and AMD are trying to push users to buy their latest cards and sacrifice their user satisfaction for short-term gain.
1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: want To participate in bounties management: on: February 19, 2023, 02:30:47 PM
I used to work for one in the past. If I remember correctly they were running a bounty for anyone who spots a cheater on one of their campaigns. I found some and then propose to work for them to check other works/do other tasks. Have a good run with them for months until they stop doing bounty management when the bear market hit. I'd say your best bet if you don't have any connections with bounty managers or bounty team is to find an opportunity like that.

Building your reputation on this forum might also help when you apply since most team/managers would likely ignore you if you're just a newbie with a terrible reputation/post history. While I don't know the ins and outs of every management team, I'm pretty sure most of them don't want to hire someone who doesn't even make good posts/contribute to the forum in any way unless they know you beforehand, hence why connections are also important. You can try to build some networks anyway, as long as it is ethical and actually helpful. In fact, I know one or two members who manage to run their own campaign management just because a popular manager recommend them to one of their clients who can't afford a higher pay rate.

By building a connection, I don't mean spamming their dms, begging them to hire you, sending a large number of merits when they make a post about payment updates, or other unethical practices. I doubt they'll appreciate it if you do that in the first place. You can build a tool to make their bounty check easier, spot AI texts faster, or even work in a closely related business space such as designing signatures.
1683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: An advice to all Satoshi minners on: February 19, 2023, 01:11:49 PM
Do you really mean to say that Satoshi is also a shitcoin? Also, why do people take it seriously when others claim that Satoshi has more features than Bitcoin? Please provide more details.
There are so many coins/tokens being released with the same claims that they are better than Bitcoin or other popular coins, solve scalability issues, etc and sooner or later they end up dead due to lack of usage or just bad development in general. Some of them are just forks of one over another so their innovation is actually just releasing the same network under different names. At the end of the day, regardless of how cool your project is, if no one is using it then your coin is just another shitcoin waiting to die.

👍 Thanks you for not make me confused to deferential between Bitcoin amd other coin.
Beware of claims like "continuing satoshi legacy", "the real satoshi network", etc. Most of the time they just modify some parts of Bitcoin code and release it on their own after doing some premine so they can dump on other users when the coin gets a bit popular. You should read more about it so you can develop an awareness if a new project is trying to scam you. Some tokens also do things like this btw, so it is not exclusive to mineable coins. CMIIW.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best network to transfer USDT from Coinbase to Bitget on: February 19, 2023, 12:34:20 PM
But Im rarely withdraw from one exchange to another I think the best way is withdraw it to your local wallet fist
If the purpose is to move funds from one exchange to another, transferring to your own wallet is probably gonna add more fees. Trading to other coins and then withdrawing it directly would be better IMO. Sure it depends on liquidity and how fast your tx will be confirmed on the blockchain, but it is arguably faster and cheaper if other factors don't change that much. If you use an exchange that has very expensive withdrawal fees regardless of which network you use, maybe it is time to consider other platforms or use DEX.

first is What the option that coinbase has. For now, you can actually use any network including the ERC 20 the fee is relatively low since Ethereum turns into PoS if the Coinbase has TRC withdraw and Bitget had TRC deposit you can use it since TRC20 is dirt cheap fee.  Grin
What TRC are you referring to here? Is it Terracoin? I've tried to see if Coinbase supports them but it seems they don't. If you're referring to Tron, it seems like they don't support it either. They do list it on their browse crypto website but they don't list it on their exchange. Ethereum fee is still a bit expensive compared to other networks, they are still in a transition phase at the end of the day so don't expect much. CMIIW.
1685  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Tutorial] BlueWallet - Bitcoin Wallet on: February 18, 2023, 03:36:44 PM
1686  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Adakah Mixer Untuk Altcoin? on: February 18, 2023, 03:13:36 PM

1687  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [INFO] Informasi Phishing, Malware, Virus Dst (WAJIB BACA) on: February 18, 2023, 02:27:03 PM

[1]. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/mining-botnet-targeting-redis-and-orientdb-servers-made-almost-1-million/

1688  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Bulan Literasi Kripto (BLK) on: February 18, 2023, 02:14:06 PM

1689  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [SHARE] Lightning ATM ( Mainan ) - Beli BITCOIN Eceran Mulai dari Rp.1500 on: February 18, 2023, 01:32:13 PM

1690  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do the biggest businesses contribute to open source software (Bitcoin)? on: February 15, 2023, 04:20:19 PM
Some larger projects that are used by pretty much everything and can stand on their own have a list of sponsors - you can find these all around Github but I can't pull any concrete examples off the top of my head.
Can we say the core-js developer situation is an outlier then? Or does individual developer who don't belong to any organization usually receive less funding even though their projects are popular? Anyway, his situation is probably not the same with Bitcoin development so that's that.

How about Google (or similiar) that benefits from providing some Bitcoin infrastructure/data and not releasing any bug-fixes, plug-ins, tools etc.? They must have made effort in order to integrate Bitcoin with many other components. Have they shared anything (a simple script or a code example at least)?
I've never heard of any Google project that focuses on Bitcoin. From what I can remember their interaction with Bitcoin is just around accepting crypto payment for their services (IIRC with Coinbase), a cloud hosting platform to host Ethereum nodes (and probably others, I'm not sure about this), and (scam) ads on their search engine. CMIIW.
1691  Economy / Exchanges / Re: JARVIS Exchange. Exchange Money on Turkey, China, Russia. on: February 15, 2023, 03:54:03 PM
At the start of the exchange, we made a weekly promotion and paid our customers $ 2 for each honest review left) Smiley
It is really hard to tell if their review is really honest since I don't know Russian, but if you really want valuable feedback you should open a review campaign on this forum. I bet that would be more valuable than asking spammers to spam your trust rating on random websites with positive compliments unless that's what you want.

Anyway, it's not really a big matter about the name but what's more important is the concern that has been said above and hopefully that the devs you've notified will act on it quickly.
IMO it depends on each user. Personally, I'm more familiar with the other project, hence why I said they feel like a copycat considering both of them offer a similar service (exchange) if you don't look closely. I don't think rebranding is such an issue if it can avoid such negative perception, but of course it is probably not a priority if your service is not even running properly.
1692  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recommend crypto payment gateway for a small e-commerce site? on: February 15, 2023, 03:44:43 PM
Try BTCPay server as suggested above. They are open source, you can modify them depending on what you need, you can also use a plug-in for fiat conversion if that is required to run your business. It might take some time to set up, but you have complete control over how the process works. AFAIK most members also recommend them if you are open to setting up your own software.

The only downside is probably the lack of altcoin support (you don't need them anyway if you want to accept BTC only). Don't rely on articles like that. Most of the time they just list whatever website offers payment processor software and list their marketed pros and cons with no in-depth review. I can even argue that the threads linked above contain more discussion/in-depth reviews of each platform compared to articles on a random blog.

What makes you confused btw? We can probably help you answer some of your confusion if you post it here. Asking for more suggestions on which payment processor to choose is not going to help you if you are looking for a specific guide on how to integrate an API into another platform, for example. CMIIW.
1693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying a video card for the next mining season on: February 15, 2023, 01:38:39 PM
Yes i agree. Nvidia is popular because it is easy to start up but with amd it is difficult start up. I spend alot of time for polaris gen then rdna gen. Once you adjust everything good amd is also stable works weeks without problem.
I heard AMD drivers are incredibly good since the 5700XT days. It has less overhead compared to NVIDIA, and with most drivers updates, they give performance increases. Depending on how you look at that, you can say that buying AMD cards might be better for your bucks, especially if you use them for gaming purposes. The problem is that most people don't want to risk trying AMD again, so they keep believing that AMD has bad drivers even if NVIDIA has more or less the same issues.

With AMD I have been working longer and in my early days I like most of us have only mined of them but never had the same performance and stability as Nvidia has for the latest generation cards, that is just my experience though.
That is interesting. I've seen many complaints about NVIDIA releasing too many hotfix drivers that screw up gaming/content creation activities, but I guess it doesn't affect mining performance that much. Have you ever experienced a performance increase from driver updates? If there is not a substantial increase in performance. Maybe a driver update is not necessary after all, as stability matters more. CMIIW.
1694  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Safepal hardware wallet review and opinions on: February 14, 2023, 02:14:47 PM
Update: After I left it for 20 days after I fully charged it, on the day I turned it on again I turned on the SafePal S1 and was a little surprised that the battery was still full, only reduced 1 strip while many I know the battery will run out automatically can't be turned on either but next time this is still enough to last for 20 days or more.
That's not surprising. Most battery-powered devices have good battery life for the first months or so, and then it deteriorates after that. The speed will depend on the quality, usage, charging habit, etc. The timeframe of your test needs to be longer to see more reliable data.

At least I won't keep assets on this hardware for longer, my assumption is also the same that one day the battery will definitely have problems what you will face later.
If you don't plan on using it to store some crypto for the long term, is there any specific reason why you bought it? Honestly, after some years of using a hardware wallet, building my own air-gapped device to store crypto sounds better for my needs. I don't think you need to buy a new one just because the battery died though if you just want to store some crypto there. As long as you can still use it and there is no critical exploit that only needs an internet connection to use them as an attack vector. CMIIW.

I have tested the firmware and battery life used, and the results are quite disappointing.
I have provided feedback via email and have not received a reply.
Even if they send you a reply, I don't think it will be anything meaningful. They'll probably say thanks and promise that they'll make it better for future updates/hardware versions, and that's it.

A unique identifier should make you anonymous too. It would be a bad thing if somebody links your address from your shortened link and identify your forum/personal name, or whatever personal data you used for your short link. A random string is better IMO. Sure you will share it on the forum/internet anyway but there is still an additional layer of privacy if you use a randomized string instead of a username/something similar.
1696  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Dubai Mandates Licensing for Crypto Companies on: February 14, 2023, 01:35:13 PM
As of January 2023, more than 500 crypto startups have registered in the Dubai Free Economic Zone. This is a very good result!
In my opinion, while some countries are focused on tightening controls, Dubai's experimental approach could become a benchmark for other regions.
Is there any notable startup/business registered in DMCC? I tried looking into their website but I can't find any names that I recognized. Granted I'm not up to date with new crypto startups nowadays, but considering they have such a large number of registered companies, I thought I'd recognize one or two[1].

According to some news that I read, the majority of those numbers are small businesses, while larger one such as Binance is yet to register here. They probably don't need it anyway since most programs that I see are about kickstarting their business and networking support. Most of their claims of successful members also refer to local businesses.

Registering a company in the Free Economic Zone is easier, but there are certain restrictions for the company. It is tedious to obtain additional permits if you want to expand the market.
Some reports claim the due diligence process to register as a member is quite strict, but there is no comparison to other regions/countries so that's that. From the way I see it, an established business looking to open a branch in Dubai would likely benefit more. That being said, I can see how a new business registers an office there and just hire overseas freelancers to cut cost[2]. CMIIW.

1697  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is it wrong to try your luck with Solo on: February 14, 2023, 12:49:32 PM
And if you are into stats, your chance of winning a block reward solo mining is infinitely higher than with a pool  Smiley
That doesn't sound right, judging from how many users tell you that the chance is only around 2% within a year. Not to mention the difficulty is going to fluctuate, and I bet it will increase and just lower your chance even further. Doesn't really matter whether you have free electricity or not if you will never get it in the first place. Can you show us the math?

Based on my experience, I only saw one post from a lottery miner in this forum, while the rest are just talking about probability, etc. Most of the time they are just doing it for fun, so if profit is your goal, mining with a pool is arguably more profitable & efficient. CMIIW.
1698  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do the biggest businesses contribute to open source software (Bitcoin)? on: February 14, 2023, 12:13:29 PM
There are big businesses contributions to Linux kernel. Why Bitcoin ecosystem is not supported at a similar level?
Just yesterday I read some blog posts from a javascript developer that claims he lacks funding to continuously develop the library he maintains alone, even though many businesses are using it as their backbone. To continue doing that, he needs to get sponsorship from some company, work another job, or get donations from Patreon etc. So far, the most notable response comes from individual donations. So, this practice is definitely not new.

From what I've read so far, open-source organizations contribute more to open-source development. Individual donations from other developers or enthusiasts are also more common compared to business backing unless they are the ones who create it or they want to make it exclusive for their needs. Other than lack of profits/exposure, or the lack of means to do so (small business, etc) I don't see other reasons why they don't do it, which is probably why more projects are doing their DAO thing right now. CMIIW.
1699  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Phishing email from Namecheap on: February 13, 2023, 12:47:33 PM
It seems their e-mail provider account was hacked. According to this news[1], other services also got hacked and send similar phishing emails such as DHL. They've stopped using Sendgrid according to the latest update, but it is unclear if the hacker also hacks other providers/services so better be careful. On the other hand, Twilio/Sendgrid claims there is no security incident in their system, so the exact reason is hard to figure out. Either one of them is lying, or both of them are at fault. Anyway, just don't click suspicious links from suspicious e-mails regardless of who sent them.

Are you in any way related to Jarvis Network[1]? I'm more familiar with Jarvis Network and I've never heard of a new service from them since they offer an instant swap already. If you are not related, I think you might consider changing your name so that it doesn't sound like a cheap copy/phishing site of Jarvis Network exchange. Honestly, I thought you are scammers pretending to be Jarvis Network when I see your link. Now, you seem sketchy at best.

Also, I can confirm that I don't see any language updates. Most of the content is still in Russian. I don't know what you have changed if there is any change at all.
