1681  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-27] Project to Build Satoshi Statue Gains Support in Kiev on: May 28, 2018, 03:53:29 AM
This is utterly moronic. How the fuck can you build a statue of an anonymous person?  Roll Eyes

It's probably a scam anyway just to beg for money for the project and seems like it's already worked:

Quote
The organizers also intend to file a petition with the Kyiv City State Administration and apply for permission to build a real, physical monument. They plan to raise the necessary means through a crowdfunding campaign. In the meantime, the virtual statue project has been supported by the Ukrainian entrepreneur Alexander Soroka, founder of the investment platform Startup Network, who has already donated 1 bitcoin (BTC).

Next comes the ICO.

Does anybody want to buy some digital air from me?

Most of the statues represents anonymous people. Since the goal is not to show who they are, but, rather, what they represent. There is a difference between a statue and a bust. A bust, by design, represents someone.

But a statue could be a demonstration of the ideas that Satoshi represented. Still, it would be a personal view of the artist on Nakamoto. But in that case, a face would not be the most important, but all the dress and attitude of the statue.

Now this will be an interesting one  Smiley
Is there any myth about how theymos, Cyrus and satoshi met in the first place?

Sirius was one of the first people to contact Satoshi and offering to help him[1]. Theymos first contact with Bitcoin was on 4chain[2] them he starts to participate on this forum and become one of the most active.

Quote
I saw a post about Bitcoin on 4chan. The poster was complaining about how long it was taking to download the blockchain. Wink

I just started participating on the forum and never lost my interest.

1684  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How many Bitcoin Core alternatives do exist? on: May 27, 2018, 07:03:23 PM
There are literally dozens of bitcoin core alts right now out there but it is very hard to weed out the definition of what an alt is

Nope. There are various Bitcoin forks. But Bitcoin Core is just a Bitcoin client. There is no currency called Bitcoin Core, so there is no fork of it.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Clients

A bitcoin client is the end-user software that facilitates private key generation and security, payment sending on behalf of a private key.

1685  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: First BTC-to-alt trade on: May 27, 2018, 06:28:03 PM
Why did you choose this exchange and this token? Would not it be better to choose an exchange with more volume and an Alt with more liquidity?

What you did was just bet on a project like you bet on a casino.

I made a list with everyone who owns the Expert Badge. You can check this link. There are 16 people on there. And many of them do not use the forum anymore. But you can find them on other social media like twitter.

1687  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-26] South African Police Investigate $80 Million Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme on: May 27, 2018, 01:32:55 AM
How could people still be innocent enough to believe that a value created from the wind can last for a long time? This type of business is never something legitimate. And whoever participates always knows about the possibilities of losing everything. It is pity that the resources of a whole population are used to investigate something that was wrong from the beginning and that only affected the people who look for opportunities that are illegal or unreal.

1689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TRST] WeTrust - For the People, By the People! on: May 26, 2018, 07:33:13 PM
What horrible news. Interestingly enough I am still in profit with my initial investment, even when compared to BTC. I do not know what to do. HitBTC is a bad exchange, but this fall was very strong, many people desperate. I'll wait a little longer and keep my position. The project is still solid.
1690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US criminal investigators bitcoin manipulators. on: May 26, 2018, 05:50:52 AM
You should always include the source when you put news like this. They are investigating manipulation in the exchanges, and for anyone it is very clear that this exists.
The investigation is focused on illegal practices that can influence prices -- such as spoofing, or flooding the market with fake orders to trick.

1691  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are there any groups for full time crypto traders? on: May 26, 2018, 01:11:26 AM
There are many groups on telegram. Unfortunately, the absolute majority is groups that build pump and dump schemes. It is very risky to trust what most people say.
But the groups I like to follow and participate, and which do not seem to me to be pump and dump, are these:

@icoinvestt

@thecoinfarm
@asianwhales

1692  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Você é brasileiro ou Português? on: May 25, 2018, 11:39:48 PM
Apenas a nacionalidade.
1693  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Why EOS is actually killing the market on: May 25, 2018, 10:42:55 PM
I would agree that the price of EOS today, is linked to the ETH's sales promoted by the developers of EOS. But I do not think they would be able to affect the whole market. Even because according to these wallets of your link, they do not sell for more than 2 months.

Now, it's not just them. Many other projects have raised a lot of ETH and BTC. And they are using these two coins to pump their own projects. That's why in the last 3 months I'm buying more of these two. Mostly BTC.
1694  Other / Meta / Re: Goodbye to Merit History... on: May 25, 2018, 05:44:15 AM
I did not know about it, thank you for the warning. I will start saving the records to always remember who gave me merit and for what reason. Unfortunately, this might help some people that do merit farm. Since attempts to combat them are still being tested.
1695  Local / Brasil / Re: BRL/USD e eleições 2018 (merits para quem esclerece bem a pergunta) on: May 25, 2018, 05:07:46 AM

Bolsonaro = Muito provavelmente Paulo Guedes

Ex-CEO e sócio majoritário do Ibmec.

Alckimin = Pérsio Arida

Pensamento economico mainstream.

And they bought a lot of comments from Jr Members. Just watch the history of comments from some. These are always sequential comments on some specific projects to bump their topics.

bitxoxo+pacman+enoxcoin+eternel = They are using the same service for pumping their topics with comments that doesn't say anything.
1699  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-23] Google Tries Hiring Vitalik Buterin for a Secret Crypto Project on: May 24, 2018, 03:48:29 AM
@vit05. No it would be a very bad situation for the Ethereum community, I reckon. Ethereum's success depends on Vitalik because he is viewed as their messiah. Without him they would be lost and they will also dump their coins to search for another coin and another messiah to follow.

Also why would it be a fantastic if he worked in a place that he is trying to disrupt?

But the fact that he is seen as a messiah is terrible. Ethereum will need to prove at some point that it is a decentralized project. This is essential. He could continue to contribute.

I do not know if the path of a platform like Ethereum is disrupting Google. In fact, I think that google can benefit greatly by anticipating some changes that cryptocurrencies will force.

1700  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-24] Coinbase acquires cryptocurrency trading platform Paradex on: May 24, 2018, 01:54:38 AM
There was a rumor that coinbase would list 0x. And soon after this, it would begin to use it for some new projects. I think they were looking at the DEX projects and thought it would be better to buy this platform.

I do not know how this company works, but it's a very interesting move. Binance also plans something in this direction but using its own token in a new mainnet , leaving Ethereum.
