1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin FS become the official Bitcoin Chain? on: June 06, 2019, 10:18:05 AM
Community still decides ultimately, and I believe that Core will come up with a rather nifty yet temporary solution for the non-existent (yet) scaling problem that a lot of people have been bringing up from time to time to question the ability of the Core devs in handling bitcoin development. Also, a lot of promising fork proposals have been brought up to the table and so far, none of them proved to be the best one that solves the problem most people are bringing about, so yeah, this Bitcoin FS thing might go down that route as well.

Its hard to use Bitcoin because the blocks are choked down to 1 MB.

We wouldn't have so many forks if Core had not f'd up the network.

Bitcoin FS solves these problems.

How exactly would big blocks solve the scaling problem for bitcoin? Other forks have attempted the said approach to no avail...

What? Another fork again? The way I am seeing it is this just a display of human nature -- that of greed and maybe some entrepreneurial as well. People wanted to copy bitcoin for their own selfish reasons and then market the same as the best solution the only one that can save bitcoin from its ultimate crash. Oh well, people can really be so creative. Anyway, let them have it if they want to because at the end of the day it is really the community that decides as a whole.

1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETN scam is finally gonna end? on: June 06, 2019, 10:05:48 AM

Electroneum was one of the few projects that I supported in 2017 when ICOs were having their best days and I continually backed them by not selling my tokens until 2 months ago when I realized that there must be something wrong with the project and I sensed that the people behind it are not anymore up to the expectations supporters placed on them. And now this news. Good thing am not anymore holding any ETN tokens. Still, am hoping that this is just a false accusation and that the leadership of ETN will soon come forward to clear things out.
1683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bearer instruments on: June 06, 2019, 09:49:34 AM
With regards to scaling, people are always putting all the emphasis on Lightning. I've been wondering whether usage of bearer instruments (like OPENDIME) could help scale the network. Once loaded, they can be handed around like cash so transacting doesn't require making on-chain transactions. This probably isn't that attractive while fees are still low. But maybe this could become common as on-chain fees rise and production costs for these type of devices fall?

I think there can be situations where using something like the Bitcoin Stick can be helpful so there can be a ready market for this type of storing and transferring cryptocurrency. However, I am doubting if this can push for more scalability and more adoption as on-chain transfer remains the most attractive to deal with bitcoin. This can be a very good alternative too that should be available to anyone who desires it.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance to Reportedly Introduce Its Own Stablecoins ‘Within Two Months’ on: June 06, 2019, 09:39:22 AM
CZ is so good at marketing. He is always at the forefront of every trend. The new news is BNB has increased again. I'm sure Binance Stablecoins will replace the USDT soon Smiley

The man is a genius and he has still so many good things under his sleeves. I am sure now that Binance people know what they are doing and they are all fantastic at things which other exchanges are inferior with. This is the same kind of abilities that made Binance successfully weather the big storm of hacking just recently. Competitors of Binance have many things to catch up and they should hurry as Binance has the intention of really dominating this industry...they should be creative and adept on marketing to hold on to their market share.
1685  Other / Off-topic / Re: My story of thieves with Pingpipe on: June 06, 2019, 09:25:49 AM
Pingpipe is a hosting service that uses bad arts, tricks or cheating, inflates prices or conceals them between technicalities. Thousands of people and small businesses are affected and most do not even know it. And not only does it cost you an eye for "maintenance" (defined as "maintenance"), but it also charges you for each modification. What bothers me the most is not the bad service but the arrogance with which they always talk. Bill Gorman's Pingpipe makes fun of people saying that they ensure your presence on the internet until you give your website to them. These are the most frequent traps of this hosting service. Pingpipe is neither cheap nor has quality, therefore, I recommend other accommodations.

"PingPipe delivers" is a great motto of this hosting service provider. Now, since you are accusing this service of ineptitude and maybe also non-delivery of the services as stated in the contracts signed, it can help your cause if you can here provide us some evidence as this can bolster your claims. And yeah, this should have been posted in the Scam Accusations section of the forum.
1686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The Justin-Warren Lunch: The Publicity Side on: June 06, 2019, 09:11:43 AM

The Justin Sun and Warren Buffet Lunch has generated a good amount of attention from the media (both mainstream and crypto-focused) not just because of the huge amount the young guy paid to have the opportunity to meet the old man but also because both sides have different stance on cryptocurrency.

As someone said in Twitter (@MustacheTommy): "Whether you love or hate this lunch between Justin and Warren Buffett, this one single move by Justin had brought huge mainstream media coverage for our crypto industry. Rather hate, let's congratulate. Rather divide, let's unite. Rather be negative, let's try to be positive."

What do you think?

1687  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-05] Bitcoin Holds Over $7,800 as US Stock Market Sees Minor Uptrend on: June 06, 2019, 08:50:08 AM

It was demonstrated that any similitude between the trend in traditional markets and crypto markets is purely accidental. So I am not sure what they want to imply with putting both in the same news story and title...

I am wondering the same thing. Is there really a correlation between bitcoin and the stock market of US? Will rise in the stocks mean the fall of bitcoin and vice versa? My view is that this is just coincidence and not a time-tested assumption.
1688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain for voting on: June 06, 2019, 08:03:57 AM
Does any country use blockchain for election or voting? I know there are many countries who afraid of implementing blockchain into its sytem because then everything will be clear. If voting systems are created on the basis of blockchain technologies, then it is possible and possible to obtain reliable voting results without falsification. All the same, the blockchain is precisely created so that it cannot be changed from the outside, and in order to ensure complete security and confidentiality of data. It would be interesting to participate in the elections via the online voting platform.

So far I have never heard any country who implemented the blockchain technology in their electoral process. Actually, this is one of the best areas that the blockchain technology can help but of course I doubt if many countries will adopt this within the next decade as transparency in practice is something that they don't want to happen. One day, though, am sure that this can be the standard in all elections as more and more people are clamoring and demanding a better system where their voice can be heard and counted correctly with almost nil opportunity of intrusion and hacking. Let's hope some big organizations can adopt a blockchain-supported election system so that we can see it in action.
1689  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BTC halving and hash power on: June 06, 2019, 07:33:19 AM
By logic of doubling prices , In next 40 years ,BTC should cost more than 7 million USD per BTC. I just wish if it can be true.

Historically speaking that's not entirely impossible. We've gone all the way from less than $1 cents to $8k-ish now, which is 8k times. I'm not surprised if it can do the same thing again but for sure we can't rely on such prediction. Mining needs to be profitable, so either the code changes or miners find another way to mine, like using green energy or highly efficient device.

I am guessing that sooner or later there will be more efficient mining device that will replace those in use right now. This is a must since many are also concerned on the power needed towards the bitcoin mining industry. With less cost yet bitcoin rising into the moon, mining can remain profitable for a long, long time until there is no more to be mined and that's when confirmation fees will be the only available source of revenue.
1690  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is it possible a BTC client generate an address identical to another person's? on: June 06, 2019, 06:58:52 AM
I haven't seen that one infographic in awhile that does a good job explaining the power output of the sun over trillions of years, still has less of a chance of making a duplicate address.  Anyone have that saved?

I think you meant this image

Source : https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1apxbv/bitcoin_security_your_money_is_secured_by_the/

But it's no longer true when quantum computer with sufficient qubit exist and public key of an address is exposed

It is quite reassuring of the chance that a duplicate wallet address can be created but then again I am thinking about the coming of supercomputers which can presumably fry private keys and crack them using less resources. Should we be worrying about quantum computers or is it possible that at that time a counter technology can also be developed?
1691  Economy / Economics / Re: Hey I am new to Economics can someone explain this to me? Wells Fargo and JP Mor on: June 06, 2019, 06:40:37 AM

https://twitter.com/business/status/1132056221316517889 Wells Fargo

I don't understand this stuff I am a farm boy, I work, plant seed, create life, create value, bring it to market, sell for scam money that I buy other stuff with, sometimes I just trade the fruit for other stuff. I don't understand all this stuff, please helpa me.

You already explained everything. Create goods, sell them, get money, buy other stuff. This is economics. What JPMorgan and Wells Fargo are currently going is not economics. It's theft and fraud. Grin

Actually the farm boy is more grounded and understand more how real economy works that the people in JPMorgan and Wells Fargo because when these conglomerates will go bankrupt it will be the taxpayers like the farm boy who will bail them out...of course in cooperation with the government made up of people who can easily decide to print more money anytime they want to.

1692  Economy / Economics / Re: Glen Goodman on Crypto Trading, Market Analysis and the Future of Bitcoin on: June 06, 2019, 06:26:57 AM
Will there be many more like this? I mean this was a good interview and this glen goodman dude is great and all but I really would love to see Erik Vorhees and Winklevoss twins as well with some good questions.

All three of them have been known to talk about bitcoin a lot but usually they are focusing on the adoption part of bitcoin so they talk with people who are not really into crypto so that they can speak about why bitcoin is great and all that, which means they talk about crypto to non-crypto people. I would love to see them get questions from someone that is actually into crypto and knows what is what for just once. That way we can see the mindset of someone who is smart and rich in crypto space and how they think which could shed a lot of lights for us.
Hey Smiley

One of the main goals of the series is to listen strongly to the wishes of the audience (community centered).. you have the opportunity to directly contact the producers and to tell them, whom you would like to have interviewed. Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe36WwLgNJD51cudNSyxnzHQnfUYQQroCqBpoDskRURDNc1nw/viewform

btw have please a closer look on the intro.. Naeem Aslam from Forbes and Tom Lee from Fundstrat have already been interviewed: d

Well, there are many good, colorful and influential personalities in the world of cryptocurrency and having them onboard for the interviews can be full of learning experience. However, I am quite excited to see some entertainment maybe Cryptonites can also get into the mind and the myths surrounding John McAfee who has the plan to run for the POTUS kicking Donald Trump away from the White House.

1693  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automated trading on: June 06, 2019, 02:49:33 AM
Hi everyone,

This is my first post…I tried browsing the forum, but couldn’t find info I needed.

Has anyone tried using automated software for trading? I’ve came across to these platforms. They both say they need their tokens to run..honestly I haven’t heard of these tokens before. One of them supports backtesting, and the other one has forward testing as well. What is your experience with this type of trading, or can you recommend something else I should take a look at..

1.   https://kryll.io/ - Supports trading on Binance, Bittrex and Liquid
2.   https://www.dapowerplay.com/services/dpp-platform - Supports trading on Binance, Bittrex, Bitstamp, HitBTC and Tokens

Thanks!
Both websites that you shared links to just offer you a service where you can create and test different strategies using multiple tools they have. So they don't offer you automated bots that you can run by yourself and make profits unless you buy it from them. Honestly I don't recommend you to buy this kind of strategies unless it is from a very trusted source that you know well. Think about it like this,if someone has a bot and a strategy that's working really well for him them why would he sell it to other people instead of him just using it to make profit? Because by selling his strategy all he is doing is increasing the risks of trading websites detecting it and then find a way to block his transactions. So most automated bots that really work are either not for sell or they are very expensive so that not anyone can afford it and those who can are not going to share it further to their friends because they paid lots of money for buying it

I have been thinking myself on automated trading software and really wondering if those can work to produce the gains that I am dreaming. As always there will be advantages (I think) and disadvantages so it is till up to the trader to adjust and learn. However, we know that the best thing to do is never use any software at all and just invest time and effort to learn trading.

1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2019-06-05] Facebook to Announce Cryptocurrency Project This Month on: June 06, 2019, 02:36:16 AM
I saw words in this article that whenever I see never end up being a good thing, I speak of these words:

- " The rumored stablecoin "

-  " secretive project "

Why facebook would keep it secret if they were involved in a project like this?

Secretive is just another word for gimmick or just another marketing ploy to sustain the suspense and interest of the media (and the public as well, I guess) on the said project. People in charge of the GlobalCoin and Facebook know marketing more than we do. While many might be doubting if this latest project of Facebook can succeed, I would say let's just wait and see.
1695  Economy / Economics / Re: what will happen to bitcoin in india on: June 06, 2019, 02:19:23 AM

Even the government officially forbid bitcoin, ppl will find their way to buy it.

Yes, of course. As long as there is a will, there is a way and even the power of the government could not virtually stop the bitcoin movement in India though it can be harder than usual. It would have been great if the India government would instead put up the regulations (they can follow Japan which is very strict) for the cryptocurrency industry. One big concern of the government is the proliferation of scams using bitcoin or cryptocurrency which already affected the country even before it is legal. Let's hope that soon the government will realize what the country miss with this burgeoning and unstoppable industry.
1696  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid in Bitcoin on: June 06, 2019, 02:07:56 AM

Just being curious about your opinions - what are your thoughts on getting your salary paid in Bitcoin? Hell yeah, that's great, no way, this idea sucks? Do you ACTUALLY feel like bitcoin adoption keeps increasing or do you still struggle to find a merchant who accepts BTC?? Any thoughts will be much appreciated.

The idea never sucks, of course. I would be appreciative if I am paid with bitcoin as my salary. Why? I would not go into the hassle of buying bitcoin in an exchange here in my country where they are taking a big percentage in terms of profits. However, since it is very volatile...will it not cause some complaints with those who are not really into cryptocurrency or do you also provide a mechanism where they can immediately convert the bitcoin to cash? I know this kind of set-up can help in the spread and adoption of bitcoin and can also be of big help to people who have the desire to "hodl" a part of their salary in bitcoin which can be taken in as a saving.

By the way, Sonia welcome to the forum. I am wishing you well and a happy stay with us. I am encouraging that you also launch some promotions here. Thanks.
1697  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Holding unregulated crypto asset may attract punishment in India on: June 06, 2019, 01:53:29 AM
Would the country ever consider working with compliance companies like ciphertrace to help with with this? It would be a shame to rule out an entire country that could really benefit from the use of cryptocurrencies worldwide

I think the problem is that the government is not yet convinced of the use, benefits and advantages that cryptocurrency can do for the country so they are delaying any request or move to have it recognized and legalized. Until then, it can be hard for anyone owning a digital asset because of the possible threat from authorities, of course except if you are really moneyed because you can work agencies outside of the country to buy cryptocurrencies for you. In essence, the government is holding their people to participate in this new revolution and a new tool in wealth creation though we also have to understand that many of the concerns of the government have basis.
1698  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: A Lawyer's Perspective on IEO on: June 06, 2019, 01:40:13 AM

Are IEO's the best present solution for all parties? Or simply the lesser of evils?

I would say that it is the latter -- the lesser evil -- compared to the usual ICOs which we experienced in 2017 and 2018. We have to acknowledge that indeed IEO is an improvement in fact a big jump ahead from the ICO days. However, nothing is perfect all because a project can still be accused of selling securities in USA. So the best solution is to make sure that one is not conducting business within USA and not to any USA citizen inside and outside of the said country and then make sure that no one also get into the secondary market within the 1-year provision period. But does IEO means it is safer for the investors who had seen so many scams and failed projects in the past? I think that is the harder part...and let's see in the coming years how the whole thing behaves.

1699  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-05] Gold Can’t Compete With Bitcoin As Form of Money on: June 05, 2019, 05:45:30 PM

One of the most obvious advantage of bitcoin is that it is in digital form no need to carry and hide it anywhere just like the physical gold though of course you can deposit your gold somewhere (there are companies performing this job for you). As always, there will be advantages and disadvantages -- bitcoin and the physical gold have that depending on how you view them. Right now, bitcoin is raging but some are commenting on its volatility as a disadvantage especially for newcomers who are not used to this feature which gold can claim not to be. My point here is that if you have the money you can go for both bitcoin and gold...both are considered as safe haven in times of crisis and disasters.
1700  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-05]EU: Malta Needs to Improve Readiness to Respond to Cryptocurrency Cr on: June 05, 2019, 05:26:59 PM

Malta even as a small nation is now a big partner in the world of cryptocurrency. Of course, nobody should forget that Binance is now based in Malta and I am sure this state nation can continue on to attract more fintech players from around the world. I agree that it has to fortify and be advanced in its capacity to fight crypto-related cyber-crimes since it has the ambition to be known as the cryptocurrency capital of the world. This is not an easy task given today's ingenuity of cyber attacks due to the huge incentives waiting for hackers and scammers.
