1701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why we need Bitcoin? When we have thousands of better Bitcoins. on: July 26, 2019, 01:52:21 AM
I can relate it into this one. Bitcoin is the tree and its hardfork is just a shadow — a shadow that falls behind the object forever and always. Yeah! The shadow could become darker (meaning, become more famous like bch) or could also become lighter (like the other coins you listed) but one thing is for sure it will never outcast the tree. The tree is the origin and shadow will never exist without it. It happens that tree is much more appreciated than the shadow because of the gap between their values. The shadow become beneficial only because of its shade but the tree itself is the source of life; same things apply to btc and its hardforks Smiley.
1702  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PSA: You can buy from Shopee using Bitcoin on: July 25, 2019, 10:29:55 PM
Kung mas mapapa gastos kayo dahil dito sa balitang to, pasensya. 🤣🤣

What I'm curious about is that a fixed option for us or not? I mean sa lahat ng stores ba ay pwedeng magbayad through coins.ph or depende pa rin sa seller kung tumatanggap sila nito or hindi?

Edit: Thanks to GreatArkansas, nasagot na yung question ko Smiley.
1703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons Crypto Players Skip Casinos with KYC on: July 25, 2019, 12:38:28 PM
If I will be asked also, I will definitely disagree to KYC because I hate the feeling of being intimidated. The feeling that someone out there knew that you got lots of money after playing casino and could possibly become a threat in your life assuming that he got bad intentions (who knows?). I think another reason why it seems everyone hate KYC is because casinos before was able to run even without this stuff and got no problems at all then what would be the difference of including it now? Is it really big? I don't think so, actually i see that disadvantages weigh more than its benefits Smiley. The bottom line, KYC is unnecessary.
1704  Economy / Economics / Re: thoughts on companies becoming too powerful? on: July 25, 2019, 06:48:02 AM
Companies become so big and they have enormous power over us, do you think companies like this should be broken up by the government or be allowed to reign supreme?
What's the sense? They are private sectors which also have their own specific rights. Besides, as long as such companies are paying the appropriate taxes based on their net profit then there's should be no issue at all. If you are worrying that maybe someday these companies might become even bigger and rule over the US (for example) then stop because it is impossible to overpower the government. Yes! They can monopolize the field of their expertise but that's it, in the end they are all countrymen which are all under government's authority.
1705  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin, or diversified investment? on: July 25, 2019, 03:32:58 AM
For now, I'll go for bitcoin since fresh graduate pa lang ako at wala pang trabaho (kailangan pa mag board eh Cheesy). Yun pa lang kasi ang investment na kaya ng bulsa ko pero once na nakapagtrabaho na ako and start saving more money balak kong maginvest sa stock market particularly to Jollibee Foods Corp. And SM investments Corp. Smiley.
1706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Advise Newbies To Enter Bitcoin Now? on: July 24, 2019, 01:50:36 PM
For me, yes I will advise some newbies/ family relatives to enter bitcoin if they want. My friend introduces bitcoin to me, and I’m willing to do a favor. But I will just teach them the basic, and I will let them learn on their own. If you want to explore new things, you should do your own study right.  Smiley
I hope you succeed on encouraging someone to enter crypto world unlike to me which is a failure Grin. I once became active persuading my classmates and friends to invest on btc as well but unfortunately I end up getting declined. I encourage again and they refuse again, the cycle goes on and on 'til I get tired that's why I become quite about crypto talks uneless someone open up. Selfish as it seems but for me it's not.
1707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] The International 2019: Dota 2 World Championship on: July 24, 2019, 11:33:25 AM
I'll go with Kuku and the gang Grin. I do believe that they're not an easy opponent and considereded as a threat for other teams since they able to beat OG before, remember? I'm just hoping that Kuku can now moderate his trashtalking habit or else he will get banned again lol, he would be a big loss for his team if ever. The TI9 will be held on China so they must be more careful because for sure that the majority of the crowd will be looking at them.
1708  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I lost my confidence... And fought to get it back. on: July 24, 2019, 06:08:49 AM
Short but quite inspirational story. You've made the right decision to continue walking on the path you've chosen. The trail would not definitely as smooth as you imagined but I know that it is all worth it when you succeed. Pain and losses were not pure miseries, actually they are blessing in disguise because they make us stronger investor and a person in general. There's a saying "What doesn't kill you make you stronger" Smiley.

I also lost a lot of money before (around $140 worth of btc) and I was so very upset because I'm facing a financial crisis that time. That amount already means a lot to me and I lost it for being greedy. Fortunately, I was able to survive my 4th year college even without it and here I am still trusting to crypto. I already learned a lesson and I'm doing my best for me to not commit the same mistake again.

Smiley
I like explanation in the picture and that is really the process if a person wants to be successful.
The anime character used in the picture was already enough to represenst what OP's situation is like. If you are familiar with One Punch Man, he (Saitama) is the protagonist of it. He is just a weak normal guy at the beginning but started to dedicate his life on training and now become an invincible hero. His enemies only need to get one punch in order to be defeated Grin.
1709  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: [Question] Mobile Games that pays on: July 24, 2019, 04:45:34 AM
Have you heard about Telegram game channels? I have tried this as well during my newbie days pero narealize ko na sobrang tagal bago makapay out so tinigil ko din lol. Here are the list of games that I've tried before,

Cash Farmbot
HouseMoney
Dino Park Game
Pirate Bay

Extreme caution! I advice you to do further research before trying these. Good luck Smiley.
1710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: July 24, 2019, 01:33:16 AM
Tim may not be talkative as a player but as Assistant Coach it will be different, of course Tim will do his job and will talk more to help the players and the team. Few more years from now, I guess he will replaced Pop as head Coach, not bad, Tim has also the ability of being a leader
Let's hope so. He mustreally change his attitufe in order to fulfill his job but I think he can do that Smiley. When it comes to knowledge and experience, there is no problem at all since Tim and his team made into championships couple of times already so managing crucial situations like this would be easier for him now. Thus, I agreed for Spurs' decision to make him their new assistant coach not yet mentioning the fact that some of their players became his teammates as well so harmony of leader-follower relationship remain intact.

I hope Manu will become part of the coaching staff someday too Smiley.
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: July 23, 2019, 01:16:10 PM
The mental alertness of Mayweather is keeps bringing him the wins, He's not aggressive but full of knowledge when he's fighting, he will run around after hitting his opponents a combo then keep repeating that from time to time, what he was done before will be the same thing after he accept this fight
Oh knowledge? Then I think that "knowledge" is the thing which keeps Mayweather to stay in his place compared to Manny which is getting more and more respected by the people as time goes by. Yeah! No doubt that Floyd had a very high fighting IQ because he knew how the match will be scored that's why he is always playing safe. He do some few punches, evade and then repeat which is a good strategy but he must also consider the audience because they are the source of his living first and foremost. He should mind that they bought tickets to watch an action packed match and not a fighter who always jog around the four corners of the ring Roll Eyes.

The difference between Manny and Floyd I think is the gap between the good memories they left on their fans. Even though Manny lose sometimes, people still appreciate it because of the intensity and hype produced by the match unlike to him that who just win by boring unanimous decisions.
Kung may madelete na post sa atin then find out why (like what have you said) kasi kung hahayaan nating ganun then there will be no improvement at all.

That is why reporting to mods is very important regarding this matter. It's our duty to report a particular post if it strongly violates a rule, huwag na sana natin hayaang bumalik ang toxicity na bumalot dito especially nung hindi pa naiimplement ang Merit System because it really sucks, yung feeling na nawawala na ang essence of being a forum where all of its members interact with sensible discussions dahil tila ba naging malaking spam area na lang itong forum.

Since nabanggit ko na yung pagreport sa mga mods, I think isa din yun sa mga dahilan kung bakit tayo nadedeletan ng post (just based on my own experience Smiley). One time kasi ay may pinuna akong member sa international board na nag necropost, imagine almost one year ang gap ng post niya at last reply  Undecided. After ko magreply on the same thread patungkol sa violation nya, several minutes lamang ay hindi ko na nakita yung post ko sa history ko which means na nadelete ang buong thread. Honestly, I didn't felt bad that time but happy instead.
1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Online Wallet - Site Disappears on: July 23, 2019, 08:17:13 AM
[snip]
Scared? Of course I will feel more than that because it is so devastating to lose all of your coin in a glance. It is like feeling broke and helpless at the same time and you don't have any choice but to move on, that sucks Sad.
Projects have their own-built wallets, so I don't really understand why people are too lazy to use online wallets, that are risky for sure. Using online wallets, they don't have control on their private keys or seeds, and might lose their funds at any time (if sites shut down, or owners of those sites do scam exits and steal users' funds).
Yeah, you're right! If such coin got its own wallet then it should be the one which you will use above any options out there. However, if it's not then I also see no threats of using online wallets as long as it was proven legit and already running for a long period of time. The best example is MEW.
1714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Cryptocurrency? on: July 23, 2019, 05:05:41 AM
My whole life is a lie Grin. Nevertheless, I'm glad because there is someone who stand out and become successful despite of histories of failures. The best we can do is to preserve what Satoshi started so let's continue using bitcoin and hope it will last forever Smiley.

[snip]

Probably mjglqw's posted link is what you are talking about. I will definitel read this later.
1715  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Trading with bitcoin - Different stages of emotion on: July 23, 2019, 03:28:34 AM
But if long term trader ka it is pointless to undergo those stages of emotions dahil wala ka din namang ginagawa but to wait and hodl.
That's right! You just freely go with the flow of market and wait for your definition of ATH. Kagaya ko na lamang, hindi ako masyado apektado ng mga hard dips from time to time kasi may sarili akong timeframe na sinusundan and sarili kong prediction ang pinaniniwalaan ko. Since I believe na -ber months ang most possible time na rumagasa ang bull (I hope so Smiley) then yun ang time na baka magwithdraw ako. Pag 'di pa rin ok then magaabang ako hanggang Dec. to Jan. pero pag patuloy pa rin ang negative market then I will continue hodling since hindi ko pa naman talaga kailangan ng pera Grin.
1716  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Would you buy a house? on: July 23, 2019, 02:03:57 AM
"Buying some bitcoin with buying your house" , im so confused with that part  . you mean buy bitcoin after someone buys your house ?
IMO hat he meant is that investing with bitcoin and his holdings is the thing which he will use for buying a new house. I guess he just fail to pick the right word, much better if he used "invest" instead "buy" Cheesy.

Anyway, I also want to buy a house using my btc not only because of the money you can save but also the mere fact that you are now being a part of crypto adoption. It's so fulfilling for sure. By the way, if you are living in the Philippines and want to buy one then better check this out.
1717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover on: July 22, 2019, 03:16:51 PM
You can't judge projects by how they look, what matters is what they are here to fix in crypto space,i introduced a good privacy altcoin to my friends weeks ago and they neglect it because of its look, the name of the project is sero
Aside from its look, I have a strong feeling that another reason why they refused to invest is because of its name. You know what I mean and it is pretty obvious, Sero sounds like zero whoch means no value at all Grin. Anyway, I felt bad for them because they didn't listen to you. Another opportunity to earn is wasted *sigh.
How can someone judge a project because of its white&black inky look?the fact is sero is just more than its logo looks and its already trading at a very good price 0.33$ i think, while its ICO price was 0.01cent.
I must admit that it was a good jump. I'm pretty sure that early investors of it are now celebrating for the profits they've made. Actually it's ATH up to this moment reach $.42+ which means greater money for those who grab at the time when this happened. As up to date, it's price is now going up once again and now currently $.29+ so it is not too late for the risk takers to invest. I'm just hoping this wasn't just a new pump and dump coin. Good luck and happy earnings to everyone Smiley.
1718  Economy / Economics / Re: Crimes involving crypto have risen on: July 22, 2019, 11:41:13 AM
Oh, I wasn't expecting that! I never thought it would be that huge Shocked. Sad to say but AFAIK there is no specific agency which primarily deals with all the cases regarding crypto however for sure police authorities of each country have their own cybercrime division handling with these stuffs. But honestly, I think it wasn't enough.

Anyways, as a crypto investor we should not fully depend our own welfare to our government/others. Our money is our own obligation so we are supposed to take care of it first and foremost. I know that scammers are getting smarter nowadays but this will not be a valid excuse, we must become wiser as well.
1719  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [DISCUSSION] Candidate for the next Merit Source. on: July 22, 2019, 06:12:13 AM
The power of Google Translate! I'm actually Chinese-Canadian (can't read or write Chinese though Undecided) and I've been hanging around a few different local sections on the forum.
Ah, I see. Welcome to our little local board, I hope you are enjoying and learning new things during your visit here Smiley.

No, DarkStar_ is something like a chingchong, popping out from nowhere and suddenly plays his game... Then suddenly leaves when you're at it.

Chill bro, DarkStar_ might get triggered. Lmao Grin (jk, peace!).
1720  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [DISCUSSION] Candidate for the next Merit Source. on: July 22, 2019, 03:44:46 AM
Both sides got their good points. Tama si finaleshot2016 for pursuing to have our local board a new merit source kasi pra naman talaga ito sa future ng board natin. Kung may karapat dapat naman talaga then I think there's nothing wrong for grabbing the opportunity, right? He/She would be another pride of our country if ever man and besides mas mapapabilis nito ang pagdistribute ng smerits which is okay for me. May kasabihan nga tayo, "The more, the merrier." Smiley

On the other hand, tama din naman si cabalism13 for pointing out that we don't even need a new merit source right now because the real issue here is the lack of productive posters. Well, totoo naman sinasabi nya. I never lose hope as long as may nakikita akong nage-excel.

Instead na mamili lang ng isa, why don't we inspire all of our fellow to make even more quality posts and encourage someone deserving out there to pass a merit source application? I guess wala namang mawawala, actually win-win situation pa nga Grin. Anyway, aside from the members you suggested, I think asu or sheenshane might be a good choice as well (just my own opinion).

[snip]

Tama ka dyan kabayan. lmao Cheesy

Actually, dati pa na ganyan dito, it really lacks information in the discussion kaya dapat hindi nalang pinapansin yon. I consider it as shitpost tho Wink
Huwag naman sana kabayan, alam ko naman maraming existing mediocre posts dito and most of them are really a product of lazy members with "Okay na yan, basta may post" attitude but I still do believe na marami pa din sa mga kababayan natin na nageexert talaga ng effort. It just happens that most of them got the same perspective or hindi lang masyado magaling sa grammar that's why their posts seem spam/shitpost.

Hanggat maaari talaga ayoko rin magreport ng kababayan natin because I felt betrayal. Pero kung talagang sumosobra na or the mistake he committed is definitely punishable then doon pa lang ako nagrereport. Let's be more compassionate and understanding mga kabayan Smiley.

That might be because I don't actually speak the language and have a lot more sMerits than cabalism13 so I can be more careless when sending merits.
So it means that you are not really a Filipino but a foreigner who can understand our language? Honestly, I'm getting confused right now because I thought you were from the very beginning lol.

(Sorry for the off topic)
