this project looks dead, or?
Volume on exchange is still very good and it gets pumped from time to time. It might be worth taking over by some coin dev, if the original ones do not work on it any longer. The original concept is still pretty useful and it might be applied to other coins as well. I think this is one of those few coins that will stay for long. Is it really though? What are the benefits of mini-blockchain scheme over pruning and/or lightwallets? I can't even get this piece of shit to sync to dump my coins on polo :/

What exactly does blockchain federation do? Do you have a link?

I haven't installed Wolfram Warptangent yet but it looks like I will do so on a brand new computer. My 2+ year old <$300 comp's HDD just died. Of course nothing is backed up except on the computer itself. I have seeds.
I'll need to get one off the shelf tomorrow probably at Micro Center. Any advice for the resident company idiot?
Try to get one with a ssd hd, and make sure you don't get some really old/refurbished cheap one that has a cpu without aes-ni.

... Funny how only a few POW coins give updates and news on their website, blogs (if they are still maintaining one) and Reddit page. Some would consider that a sign that the project is starting to stagnate and eventually "die" at some point. Especially if the said project has been around for a couple of years and still hasn't shown convincing growth.
Are you talking about Litecoin or something? Or saying that Monero is starting to stagnate? Something else?

Can anyone give me some free monero ? Never seen or came across monero faucets, if anyone know better to have them listed here to grab few monero. As monero seem to be capable of making same history as bitcoin over few years. back in 2014 when monero was born there was a user on here ... thefunkybits maybe? who was giving way XMR for twitter tweets and such, but that's all I have ever seen. You can come on freenode IRC channel #monero or #tippero and get some from me via tipbot. At this point especially a faucet doesn't make sense due to the very high tx fees.

I don't think it's forked, just no one mining it after someone drove the diff way up and then stopped mining, so now there is either no one mining, or whoever is mining doesn't have enough hash to find a block and move the chain.

algo=yescriipt
addnode=85.195.118.163
You have the algo misspelled. It's 'yescrypt' not 'yescriipt'. Also maybe try no blank lines or spaces.

There are some ads running on reddit now, not sure anything else lately. New p2pool but doubt that is driving price.

Cheesus do we really need to hash this out again. How about boolrune, or honeybool, or boolshit, or maybe just leave it alone

How's the tipbot going?
I tried to patch the simplewallet so that it has the get_bulk_payments RPC command, but it failed to compile. I'll try to mess with it some more maybe tonight or tomorrow. Edit: if someone wants to implement get_address and get_bulk_payments RPC commands, I'll put a bot up, but I can't get it building. These commands exist in monero and aeon, but it seems like bytecoin and xdn codebase have diverged quite a bit so it's not straightforward to add them in, and I'm not a c++ programmer.

XDN anonymity is the same as Monero because both use CryptoNote technology. But XDN has private encrypted messages with self-destruction feature, that makes XDN more anonymous than Monero. You can use messages not just for sending message but also to include some private transaction info, like payment ID (encrypted payment id). We are working on XDN core and its security. We are trying to make it more secure with the new types of PoA blocks.
Not quite the same, since Monero now enforces minimum mixin of 2 on transactions, and it will soon be 4. This improves the privacy of everyone using the network, see here for more info: https://lab.getmonero.org/pubs/MRL-0004.pdfMonero also has a much longer emission and much higher hashrate for the entire time of emission. One party controlling a huge amount of coins/tx outputs means that they can possibly unmask others txs, see here for more info: https://lab.getmonero.org/pubs/MRL-0001.pdfThis is certainly an issue for Bytecoin, and the probability of it being an issue for XDN is much greater than XMR due to the aforementioned differences in emission. Finally, Monero has implemented confidential ring signatures, which will go into effect in the upcoming hardfork in the next few weeks. This technology will completely mask the amount being sent in any transaction. This is something that no other Cryptonote will have when it goes into effect.

Is there any news when jwinterm will make any updates in the light wallet now that Monero is getting more popular? This is the right time to start working on the infrastructure and to make sure they are all working properly.
* jwinterm checks the news... Nope, no news Actually I will probably make at least some minor updates in the next week or two, but I just don't really have the time or inclination to put a ton of effort into at this point. It was kind of a learning Java/Libgdx project for me, and I thought if it could tide some folks until the Monero Core GUI came out, even better. Since it seems like the Core GUI is weeks away at this point, and I'm dealing with end of fiscal year madness at work right now, and I'm getting ready to sell a house halfway across the country, and school (and soccer and cheerleading and dance classes and etc.) all just started back up, I just don't see myself having much time at all to devote to it. The code is up on github though, anyone is free to fork it and update it or make pull requests. Otherwise, just wait...it's coming...soon™

Ok, got a pool going. http://50.116.52.225 no domain registered even, and haven't even hit a block yet with my hashrate. Throw a miner on it if you like! Ok. thanks Throwing some workers on your pool That was fast 30 min later and you can almost 51% attack the network

Thanks again. I'll have to spend a day or two looking over this, but I'll give you guys a hollar if I get stuck. One last thing, so if I try to solo mine in the wallet it won't work? I mean if I type in setgenerate true 4, will it work? Because I've done that before and I can't seem to find the command that'll tell me my hashrate.
Nah, I think (again because it's a recent version of bitcoin) the miner has been removed from the wallet, but I could be wrong about this.

Thanks for all of your help, I really appreciate it. I think I have one more question and then I should be good. Would you happen to have directions on how to set up a p2pool node specific for this coin? I just googled for directions but they all seem to be for different coins....not this one.
I'm running on windows and have no idea how to compile on here lol
I wrote this one for myr/uis qubit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1121974.msg12323394#msg12323394 , should be adaptable. There's a few yescrypt p2pools running now, so it should be doable. Erkan_Yilmaz on freenode irc channel ##myriadcoin has one running, so if you get stuck maybe pop on there, or post here and I'll point him this way...

Thanks for posting your .conf file. I tried the same configuration and got the same error message. When I first start the cc miner I get the message "no payout address specified, switching to getwork.
Does that have anything to do with this?
Yes, possibly. I would mine by running a local p2pool node. The wallet doesn't support getwork anymore (modernish bitcoin-based codebases don't support it, only getblocktemplate), I don't think, so you can't solomine with a lot of cg/sg/ccminer builds. You either need to find a miner that supports getblocktemplate, or run stratum proxy or something like a pool (p2pool) that can act as an intermediary to provide your miner with getwork.
