1701  Other / Meta / Re: Auto-correct will improve communication on BTT on: December 07, 2022, 11:59:04 PM
Why do you want to make things so complicated? Can you at name me at least one website which have their own autocorrect script? How Bitcointalk is so special that it need to have it?
I think that such thing would make more harm than good. We all know how sometimes autoccrect replace words that it change meaning of whole sentence. This is why I always have autocorrect disabled. These who want can use spellcheckers on PC/mobile browsers. Google keyboard also have good feature where it try to predict word that you write and shows correct spelling of it.
But after all, is itspelling mistakes is such big problem here? Will you fail to understand my mind if I will miss one letter in word? I don't think that's such big deal. I think it's bigger problem when people not fluent in English struggling to express themselves that people would understand them.
1702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2023 PDC World Darts Championship 🎯 on: December 07, 2022, 11:41:26 PM
Thanks for making this topic, I'm already waiting for competition. This year it will be very good time to watch darts because there won't be any football at the same time - World Cup will end next week and if I'm not mistaken, club football will resume on Christmas.
I don't have any favorite this year, but i expect that it will be between usual suspects and we won't see new faces reaching last rounds. Like always, I will support my countrymen Lucky D - Darius Labanauskas.
In recent years it was common Fallon Sherrock competing with men, so, it will be something new to see even 3 women playing. It would be nice to see more women able to compete on such high level.
1703  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Christmas Charity Programme on: December 07, 2022, 12:18:28 AM
I'm not sure why charity programme has to be linked with Christmas. I'm rather linked to donate to specific cases. Something like people suffering from wars, earthquakes, flooding, diseases like cancer and etc. I'm sure that there is plenty of people and organizations who are waiting for help and you can donate them without making charity programme on Bitcointalk.
Don't understand me wrong, but even with just good intentions, things may end not so well. We already saw such cases here. Transparency is most important thing, you have to count every Satoshi that you spend and show everything in public By collecting money from other people you take big responsibility and if something will go wrong, it will be your fault
1704  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: December 07, 2022, 12:02:56 AM
I don't know how many of you read RUSI analysis of Russian-pre-invasion plans, but it's interesting material. It's long, but you can see short summary here:
https://euromaidanpress.com/2022/12/04/russian-invasion-of-ukraine-rusi-report/
Full version:
https://static.rusi.org/359-SR-Ukraine-Preliminary-Lessons-Feb-July-2022-web-final.pdf
Shortly, they planned thatactive phase of operation will took 10 days and final phase of it will be in August. But something went wrong for them and they were too confident about their plan.
Offcourse, probably it's not worth to accept everything in such reports as true fact, but still, it's interesting material.

And what about the air defense that NATO has? Some may have forgotten about the drone that flew from the direction of Ukraine, flew over Romania and Hungary and crashed on the capital of Croatia. In an hour of flight, no one detected it or tried to shoot it down - really impressive.

However, it should be said that such drones are very difficult to detect because they fly at very low altitudes and if programmed well, they can use natural objects to hide from radar. The fact that they fly in all directions without being detected speaks in favor of this.
Yeah, you have good point and from what I understand, it can be exactly same model drone as that one which attacked air base in Russia. There is news whic kinda related with it. Germany refused to give  MIM-104 Patriot systems to Ukraine, which previously were promised to be sent to Poland. Such systems not just would protect Western Ukraine but also would give extra protection for neighbour countries like Poland, Hungary or Moldova.
1705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 06, 2022, 11:24:43 PM
That moment when Portugal scores 6 goals and none of it belongs to Ronaldo and he also din't made an assist. Few years ago it was difficult to imagine Ronaldo left on bench for decisive knockout stage game. But this tournament probably marks the end of glorious era of CR7.
And probably nobody didn't saw Portugal scoring 6 goals before the game. After all, Switzerland were considered as one of best defense in World Cup. But today everything went wrong for them.
Spain, I feel disappointed that they got eliminated, but they deserved it. Football is simple game, if you want to win, you have to score. Spain dominated game, but didn't managed to score. And this is what happens when you try to choose your opponent and pick easier path. Karma exists and now Spain can be happy that they won't have to face Brazil in this tournament.
Now we have break until Friday. This tournament is probably worst from all pools that I ever played. Dropped to 46th place... But at least I'm not doing that bad in betting.
1706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽⚽⚽ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk World Cup 2022 - discussion ⚽⚽⚽ on: December 06, 2022, 09:15:56 PM
Congrats @Harkorede with deserved win and good luck in the next round. You had best performance from all participants in this round with 7 points, so din't had chance against you.
As I said already, I reached my minimal goal to get out of group, so, I'm not really disappointed to get eliminated now. Now I'm going home together with Spain and now will watch this competition as neutral spectator Cheesy.
And thanks to Cro2 guys for making these difficult questions, it was really fun to play.
1707  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: December 05, 2022, 11:36:32 PM
Interesting things happening in Russia. In Engels (Saratov Oblast) air base two Tu-95 bombers were attacked by drone.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhp4Ifj-8k4
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/05/details-of-the-two-russian-military-airbases-hit-by-explosions
It's about 500-600km from Ukraine border or frontline and Ukraine don't have such long range weapons. Russia says it was Tu-141 Strizh drone from Ukraine. Even if it's true, then it shows how effective Russian air defense is if old soviet drone can fly few hundreds km through territory of Russia without being hit.
Meanwhile in Dyagilevo, Ryazan Oblast, just about 200 km from Moscow fuel tanker exploded and damaged one aircraft.
Coincidence or no, but today Ukraine announced startof testing of their own made drone with range of 1000 km. Yes, it can reach Moscow and much more:
https://mezha.media/en/2022/12/05/ukroboronprom-drones/

While Russia made another desperate attack against critical infrastructure of Ukraine and seems that this time it made least damage from all attempts. BTW, where Shahed drones is gone? Either they already used all that they have or these lawn movers simply can't work in cold weather.
1708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 05, 2022, 11:14:18 PM
Brazil team is such good and equal that they can rotate players even 1/8 final game without lose of quality and even let 3rd goalkeeper to play. They answered all questions against South Korea just in 30 minutes. And with all my respect to Croatia, they doesn't looks like force who can stop them in 1/4 final.
I regret that I didn't predicted draw in Croatia - Japan game, but I just hat to go with draws, especially in knockout stages. Before game I don't saw that any of these teams have advantage, but still decided to select Croatia win. In penalty shootout Livakovic was hero who let Japan to score jsut one goal.
1709  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can We Consider This Casino An Industry Giant In Marketing Here In Bitcointalk on: December 04, 2022, 11:41:51 PM
Fact that Duelbits spends lot of money on signature campaigns doesn't means that they're giants in this industry. All main casinos (not just crypto) have huge budgets for advertising. Look at Sportsbet or Stake for example, they have deals with EPL clubs and it costs millions $ to advertise there. In comparison, signature campaign budgets, even for huge ones like Duelbits looks like a peanuts. And at the same time Sportsbet spending lot of money here with signature campaigm various promotions, sponsoring prediction pools and etc. And they're probably also spend lot of money on other types of advertising like banner ads or social media. Single signature campaign alone doesn't proves anything, even if it's huge, but probably shows that Duelbits is doing fine.
In gneral, gambling is probably least volatible crypto business, especially comparing with trading platforms and exchanges who also spent huge money for advertising in recent years. People gamble and it doesn't matter that much for them, whether Bitcoin costs $80k or $16k.
1710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 04, 2022, 10:47:07 PM
Furthermore what’s more annoying is that F1 hasn’t announced a replacement yet for this race, and they probably won’t be having a replacement which is really sad in my personal opinion.
In the message about cancelation of Chinese GP it's said that they're looking replacement and announce it later, same thing said in article that you linked. It's said that most likely that it will be Portimao track and it would be great option IMO.

It's a bit strange, and I don't understand why the China Grand Prix would be cancelled again? It can't really be because of the Corona policy anymore, can it? Very strange I think... and also a little pity.
You're sarcastic, right? Considering China Covid policy where they're still acting like Covid would be plague, racing is impossible there.
1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 04, 2022, 09:06:06 PM
Damn, it's so easy for England and France. I think it's a bit unfair that in the 1st half referee didn't called end of it and let England to make attack when time was already over and Kane scored then. With 1:0 at halftime it could be much more interesting game. Now 2nd half reminded some meaningless friendly game, rather than World Cup 1/8 final.

So far, the playoff games are going in the boring manner that I expected. There are very few even games, and tomorrow we are also unlikely to see them.
Yeah, so far there was no chance to see any upset. Underdogs wins is fun thing, but on the other hand now we will have TOP games in 1/4 finals like Argentina - Netherlands or France - England. Tomorrow I don't expect to see drama in South Korea - Brazil game, but Japan - Croatia should be interesting.
1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽️ Betnomi.com ⚽️ Bundesliga Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: December 03, 2022, 09:43:23 PM
Ok, let it be 36, random number which came to my head first Cheesy. Thanks for the raffle.

I not participate in the other Betnomi raffle waiting for this one.
Why not both? Smiley
1713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 03, 2022, 09:38:53 PM
I expected that it will be more difficult game for Netherlands, they didn't impressed me in group stage and I liked how USA looked there. But today Netherlands remind me team that they had in 2010-2014.
Argentina - Australia. Unbeleavable, but true - Messi scored his 1st play-off round goal in his 5th World Cup. Argentina controlled game until Australia scored goal out of nowhere and it made last 15 minutes very interesting. That moment when Australian defender went through maybe 4 Argentina players and almost scored goal was amazing.
Argentina - Netherlands in 1/4 final, this is where big games begins  Cool

I will add Mexico and Serbia too.
Germany, Uruguay, Mexico were doing everything but because of the result from other matches, they had could not qualify even after winning their last match with dominance.
Well, before tournament Mexico reaching next round didn't looked like obvious scenario, they're not that much better team than Poland. And Serbia, they have some good players, but they never had good perfromances at big tournaments. Personally, in FIFA predictor I marked both these teams on 3rd place before tournamnet.
1714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽⚽⚽ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk World Cup 2022 - discussion ⚽⚽⚽ on: December 02, 2022, 11:40:37 PM
I'm very happy that I managed to through group stage, it wasn't easy at all. I got @Harkorede in 1/8 final, he is obviously not that opponent that I preferred to get in this stage already. Anyway, my minimal goal to get out of group is already reached.
I went through questions and I see it's getting more difficult. Probably it's not best idea to submit it now after taking a few beers Cheesy. I'll do it tomorrow before games with fresh head.
Good luck, bastards!
1715  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Kedmi broke up with Solovyov on: December 02, 2022, 09:43:52 PM
I don't think it's worth to pay much attention to things which are told un Russian state controlled media. You say that Kedmi now is sceptical about ''special operation, btw, could you share link where did he said these things? Maybe week ago he offered Russia to use tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine, so, it would be strange if he changed his views so fast.
https://news.obozrevatel.com/economics/analytics-and-forecasts/rossmi-ozvuchili-uslovie-pri-kotorom-okkupantyi-gotovyi-pokinut-zaes-shantazh-nabiraet-oborotyi.htm
And it's not first time when propagandists tells something negative about this war. But these things comes with approval of creators of such shows because there is no freedom of speech on Russian media and they  don't invite people who have different opinion. Telling negative things about war on Russian TV is simply preparing people for loss of war that it wouldn't be so painful for them. Like before retreat from Kherson, propagandists were giving excuses for few weeks why Russia can't keep control of this city.
1716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 02, 2022, 09:20:45 PM
These posts didn't aged well...
Next Switzerland - Serbia. I don't like footbal that Switzerland is playing, but it works often. I think we should prepare for low scoring game.

What do people see in Cameroon, though? Do they have some special mojo? Brazil is going to destroy them, it's gonna be hard to watch

Opposite than I expected, Serbia - Switzerland was great game to watch. Switzerland wins game 3:2 and goes to the next round.
Haven't paid much attention to Brazil game, so I'm wondering how they managed to lose it. Yeah, they made lot of changes in squad compared with previous games, but I think that it wouldn't be right to call players that they had today as their second squad.
Don't know how to summarize group stage, it was strange. We have underdog teams like Morocco, Australia or South Korea in the next round, while big names like Belgium, Uruguay, Germany eliminated already.
1717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 02, 2022, 06:44:33 PM
Nothing unexpected - Chinese GP 2023 got cancelled again because of China Covid regulations.
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.formula-1-confirms-2023-chinese-grand-prix-will-not-take-place.186HJrsCh027R2rl0eJnWG.html
Well, it's ridiculous. Wouldn't be surprised if even in year 2035 it will be cancelled again, considering China attitude towards Covid.
Anyway, can't say that I will miss this track much. Portimao track is mentioned as potential replacement, it would be great choice.
1718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 02, 2022, 05:35:17 PM
What a drama, this is why I love last round when both games are played on same time. It looked that everything is going fine for Uruguay, they were leading 2:0 and here comes additional time of Portugal - South Korea game where South Korea punished Portugal by scoring goal in transition. And seems that Portugal weren't concerned about it at all, they remained to be 1st.
South Korea goal give flashbacks to previous World Cup where Belgium eliminated Japan by scoring similar goal in transition:
https://youtu.be/GrkiZjoyugA?t=5940
It seems that missed penalty simply killed Ghana. Remembering 2010 World Cup, missing penalty against Uruguay have too big mental impact for Ghana.
Next Switzerland - Serbia. I don't like footbal that Switzerland is playing, but it works often. I think we should prepare for low scoring game.
1719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 01, 2022, 09:19:45 PM
Now it looks like both Germany and Spain will be on their way home tomorrow. LOL.
When Costa Rica took a lead, both Spain and Germany were out and it's crazy. Germany eventually won against Costa Rica and saved Spain from elimination.
You can don't agree with me, but IMO, Germany was worst team in group. Yeah, Costa Rica lost 7:0, but win against Japan and fight against Germany were above expectations. While Germany didn't showed why they should be in next round.
Spain lost against Japan and they played with fire today. Very solid game and I'm happy for Japan reaching next roun, even if it's not good for me in betting. And here we have another interesting call from VAR:

Yeah, ball didn't left pitch fully and our eyes is lying again. Without VARVprobably even Japan players wouldn't protest against called out.
1720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 01, 2022, 06:23:06 PM
First of all, how it's offside? I'm not against VAR, but such calls is simply ridiculous

In general, Belgium didn't looked better than in previous games and they deserved to end tournament after group stage. Though, Lukaku wasted so many moments and scoring at least one of it maybe would be enough to reach next round. It's a bit sad that this golden Belgium generation ended their era without significant achievements, but seems that they have problems not just in pitch but in locker room too.
Meanwhile Morocco ends in 1st place in their group, unexpected, but deserved.
