1722  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are we coming to the 5th wave? on: October 26, 2021, 11:59:23 PM
Pure speculation. There are always chances that we will be on the bear market very soon, there is already a lot of technical analysis that becomes invalidated, even on the bull market recently. So, this kind of analysis should have some invalidation area which the analysis will become invalid once some area is not met according to the chart.

Overall, that 5th wave to me is still in play, we can see some dumps especially the month of October is ending, some corrections are possible.

I tend to agree and it has to make sense, yes it could be pure speculation and we know that there's no accurate prediction that has been predicted the right price of Bitcoin in actuality.  But I have doubt that this bull run will continue since there's a lot of good news around and sometimes fundamental analysis has an effect rather than on the technical analysis.

IMO, I'm not familiar with this Eliot Wave (EV) prediction and I don't know how accurate they are upon giving a forecast of the market price with their unknown source of theory.  Bitcoin will always depend on mass adoption, and since we have a lot of big players around, Bitcoin will experience a massive up and down and there's no theory that can predict that.
1723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best thing you bought with Bitcoin? on: October 26, 2021, 11:40:26 PM
... 8 Bitcoins (around 6500 CZK by that time)
How long it is?  I have been short researched the value as of the of 6500CZK (Czech Koruna) for now in USD is in $293.13.
Maybe it was a long time ago when Bitcoin isn't popular in the market, but now you can even use it as a payment system like countries that have been declared as legal tender.

I have a lot of things that have been bought with my Bitcoin but it's not directly used in Bitcoin, I converted first into fiat and then use it to buy stuff.  Bitcoin in my place isn't yet much popular.

Regarding the black market, I have always been always afraid of making such transactions there using Bitcoin, it's maybe prone to scam.
1724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to buy bitcoins and eth? on: October 26, 2021, 11:11:44 PM
Can I ask you a question first?
How much amount did you want to buy Bitcoin and Eth?  If that is a large amount, I suggest you have KYC because it's risky to deal with P2P services if that is a large amount.  Find a better and reputable centralized exchange platform (Binance.com) where you can trust and link with your credit card.

But if that is a small amount, you might use these decentralized and P2P exchanges.

Or here in the forum if you want but first, find a better escrow first before dealing with some else.

1725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is more important Hype or Utility? on: October 26, 2021, 10:55:22 PM
If you are a trader or investor, what is important to you in choosing token or coins to invest, coins depends on hype or coins with utility?
It seems a very complicated question because every one of us has a different opinion.  IMO, what's the purpose that you have invested or you are a trader?  What is the reason why you're here in this field, one simple answer is because of "Profit".  So they will never care about the project, once it's hyped they usually ride the trend until one day they will realize it needs to abandon the ship.

If you know that hyped coins can gain profit in a short period of time, people will usually choose hype coin but if you want to invest for a long-term purpose which is also the profit will take a long time of waiting, utility coin is the best for you.  But IMO, for safe and less risk, I would go with the utility coin like Bitcoin and hold it for the long run.
1726  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ban on Binance Futures on: October 26, 2021, 10:32:25 PM
Binance got your identity so if they're going to look at your account by chance and you're accessing through a VPN, it might trigger them that you're logging in from another country's IP address.
Although to give you some delight, I've read people who have been using VPN all along and they have no issues about it and they're free to navigate with all of Binance's features.
But I wouldn't use VPN if I were them, it seems kind of a trap when Binance triggers and detect that you are using a VPN they will surely seize your account and the worst scenario is they will hold your fund and will never give it to you.

If Binance isn't for you, try to find other exchanges platform that has the same on Binance.  Let's accept that most of the centralized exchange now was following governments guidelines and protocols and they didn't care about us, it's all about their business.  I have doubt that many Binance users now have been moved into other exchanges platform because of these heavy regulations by Binance.
1727  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Does BTC growing faster?? on: October 25, 2021, 11:59:15 PM
Why does btc growing faster than other Cryptocurrencies?
Because only Bitcoin has a feature of a truly decentralized cryptocurrency and looks around, the adoption has been spread quickly even Bitcoin was quite new in this industry.  While other cryptos as you can see have relied on Bitcoin dominance.

Quote
What makes people chooses bitcoin?
As I have said above because it is truly decentralized among others and this was a pioneer in all cryptocurrencies which has a fixed supply and from time to time the circulating supply becomes less when the demand will increase and that's what people think that Bitcoin is the best for storing value but actually Bitcoin was created for a purpose of the payment system, a p2p payment system.  Just read the Bitcoin White paper will understand.

Quote
Does bitcoin going up forever?
Though Bitcoin doesn't have infinite growth, I believed yes, it will end up on that point.
Bitcoin has a fixed supply and when the demand will increase, the chances of Bitcoin will grow in the end is possible.  Because we're based on the demand and supply.
1728  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For those who think that they caught the moment when it's late to buy on: October 25, 2021, 11:42:04 PM
Common behavior of a human being is on thinking about being late or they do missed the train whenever they do see increasing market price. They would had presumed that if they would buy then price might go down.
Because there are people who will always be afraid to put investment at high risk, let them be and we can't blame them if they are afraid to invest in a high-risk investment.  It might they don't know how crypto will work and they are afraid to put investment.  But for sure they will do put money as an investment if they will understand very well because most of these people think profit in a short period of time and most likely do a panic selling when seeing the market is down.

It's hard to convince people and even me, I won't do that.  Then one day they will realize that there's no late investing in crypto especially in Bitcoin most you've heard is that regrets when they neglect the opportunity.
1729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your strategy to carry on making money when Bitcoin turns bearish on: October 25, 2021, 11:27:56 PM
I was wondering what is your strategy to continue making money when things turn bearish?
Since we're here in the forum and I assume that we're talking about crypto investment and then you're thinking that after investing during this bull run it will turn out to bear market, isn't it?  Well, that's a part of the risk in investing in cryptocurrency we should understand those consequences and when the bear market will come, I usually hold and never sell my Bitcoin.  Talking about a bear market of course you will not earn anything, all you have to do is wait again until there's a bull market come and there's no loss if you won't sell your crypto asset during a bear market.

Some say, during a bear market you can still earn, by spot trading through other altcoins, but it seems that kind of strategy is very risky, I prefer to hold for the long term and wait until my profit were there.  Because dealing in a bear market isn't just easy, it might easily your hard earning will wipe out.  I would rather accumulate more crypto into my portfolio if there's a bear market come.

You mean other than getting a job?
Perfect answer, getting a job and accumulating more.
1730  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinmarketcap hacked on: October 25, 2021, 03:10:32 PM
Didn't know you can create an account there. What the accounts are for on their platform? (Never visited their site for quite time)

I didn't know it either, I just use it to check the price of the coins and the condition of the market, they offer alerts on airdrops but I'm not into airdrops anymore, glad that I did not create an account here, I'm using Coingecko more than Coinmarketcap, but when I'm using price comparison that's the time I use Coinmarketcap.
Yesterday I have read different threads regarding Coinsmarketcap that has been compromised and AFAIK, I had registered there before using my email account associated with this forum account, so I worried and check my email account but there's no sign of hack there, there's no email or any message that contain malicious links.  So I doubt CZ claimed was right, it was just a FUD because I don't even receive emails in my inbox.

Either it's true or not, if our email accounts have been collected by them(hackers) and sooner or later they will send malicious links, we should avoid clicking messages on inbox that has links.  IMO, I don't usually open my email account, my mistake was I used this upon registering the Coinmarketcap platform.

It's also happened on the Binance exchange before right?  When all accounts have been compromised including emails, correct me if I'm wrong.
1731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Must Know Security Tips to Protect your Bitcoin against Thefts and Hacks on: October 25, 2021, 01:14:37 PM
7. Make sure you don't allow unauthorised users to the devise where your crypto wallets are logged in.
I believed the hardware wallet will have this function, once transactions have been done, it didn't leave any track on the device that you have used.  It has a feature that protects itself even you used malware-infected devices.  It's always advisable to use a hardware wallet for the safety of storing your crypto.

There are similar threads related to your topic and I think it's also useful if I drop it here.

I strongly believe when you do all these as a beginner, no one can hack you not to talk of stealing your Bitcoin.
It has been discussed so many times here how to protect your Bitcoin and keep it safe, if newbies will spend their precious time reading and gain knowledge in the forum, that is the best shield against hackers and there's always had advantages if you're knowledgeable enough even basic information how Bitcoin will work and how you will keep it safe.
1732  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Sino ang presidente mo, at bakit? on: October 25, 2021, 12:30:50 AM
Pacquiao is big no, mostly because of lack of experience. Running an entire country can't be a trial and error. LMAO.  Cheesy He should've run as a congressman or governor instead.
Lol, not only because of lack of experience, but he also might lack of knowledge. (which is I doubt).
Yes, he is a good and a kind person, but a presidential position isn't good for him, it's too much position which he can't handle very well for sure.

I will go with Sarah Duterte, as always.
Parang pakipot lang tong si Sarah pero I have doubt na tatakbo rin yan kung pwedi paba makapag hain ng COC.  Duterte's administration is always good and have a really improvement to our country.
1733  Local / Pamilihan / Re: REPA investmetn SCAM! on: October 25, 2021, 12:13:44 AM
2 billion pesos, it's a holy cow, nakapalaking halaga na niyan.

This proved that not only in crypto has a scam, which is particularly common on fiat Ponzi schemes.  Because of greed there will be always fall into that kind of trap, doubling money which is obviously a scam.

By the way, I have now just heard it here, I'm near in the City of Davao but I didn't hear about REPA.
1734  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weekend Trading, how do you feel about it? on: October 24, 2021, 11:59:10 PM
i think is not good
but in weekend is good time to buy, because ussualy in weekend all crypto currency down price
This is what I have noticed in the market during the weekend, the price goes down and I think it isn't good in trading since the potential of gaining profit is on the bullish market.  But I think it depends on you because not all altcoins become pump on weekend, some of them pumped so much when the Bitcoin resistance drop.

Make your own analysis OP is a good answer, and try to observe your strategy if this will work out and then proceed into a new one if this will not work.  Because in trading, you really don't know where the price heading and it's always unpredictable.  It's a perfect way if you will try a little amount this weekend and have a conclusion after next weekend.
1735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will bring the chaos what the world need. on: October 24, 2021, 11:51:13 PM
Bitcoin is a Chaos of what the world needs?  I don't think so.

It's been proven that Bitcoin is one most useful valuable assets and it could be a good alternative to cash.  The word chaos is too harsh to call Bitcoin on that term which is not.  As we can see, there are a few countries that have been announced Bitcoin has become legal tender in their place, so it means they saw that how potential Bitcoin is and as a tool that could be used as a payments system substitute to fiat.

Its goal is to change the old, traditional system.....
No, not that way but as I said above, it's potential to be an alternative to a traditional system.
1736  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to sell bitcoins without ID verification on: October 24, 2021, 11:20:04 PM
I know some sellers on localbitcoins will take BTC without requiring full KYC, since the risk is far less as you will deliver first via escrow it should be possible to find a few who will offer this service in some country or currency.   Or exchange for tokens of some kind is another path.
To sell btc you should not need kyc to provide to the buyers of bitcoin on localbitcoin but you have to verify your identity on the site to make transaction. And as further as I know you would not be able to get your bitcoin wallet ID before verifying your identity on localbitcoin.
I tend to agree and in short, Localbitcoin isn't safe if you want to sell Bitcoin without identity verification or it's an anonymous way.

It's already suggested on the first page and I think the best way to buy Bitcoin is on P2P services that never hold buyer/seller's fund.  It's usually held in 2-of-2 multi-sig wallets which is considerable it's safe between two parties, the buyer and the seller.

Bisq platform is my bet.
1737  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Intagram accounts sellers? on: October 24, 2021, 10:59:04 PM
I dont think if there's a legal way of selling an Instagram account, though we know that there's no law prohibiting selling social media accounts it might no one will sell genuine social media accounts which considering you also sell your personal information.

I have doubt if there's someone who wants to sell their social media account with huge followers most likely you're buying a number of followers but not actually the real users.  It's most likely a bot or inactive account.  So it's not really worth it if you want to target an audience.

Besides, the Terms of Use of Instagram stated that.
Quote
You can’t sell, license, or purchase any account or data obtained from us or our Service.
This includes attempts to buy, sell, or transfer any aspect of your account (including your username); solicit, collect, or use login credentials or badges of other users; or request or collect Instagram usernames, passwords, or misappropriate access tokens.

So I think anyone who wanted to buy an account must be careful, it seems you throwing your money away.
1738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HODL, HODL when can one actually sell Bitcoin? on: October 24, 2021, 09:52:14 PM
If you bought Bitcoin from the price of something around $30k and wanted to sell at $60k, you made double already your profit, and that is your profit.
The important thing is you have a targeted goal of profit when you will sell it, because you will never gain profit if you will never sell it at a high price, if you hold 1 Bitcoin it will always be 1 Bitcoin.

So my question is, how much profit do you want to gain?

Because here is the fact, Bitcoin isn't solely the purpose of gaining profit or because an asset, it's a digital currency which good for an alternative as a payment system.
1739  Other / Meta / Re: Reports Bad&Unhandled on: October 24, 2021, 03:54:33 PM
When I reported a post, I usually give a suggestion to the MODs why I reported that post.
It seems like this,
  • It should be deleted, redundant/existing topic
  • It should be moved to a local section or it's in the wrong section should be moved
  • It should be merged, posting multiple posts in a row
And might MODs have an idea upon opening reports.

IMO, if MODs are still undecided of what action they do I think it will still mark unhandled and it might they need to review first the case before they will take action.  It might be good if there are MODs who will explain us here.  I have this assumption because I didn't know how MODs take action on those reports.
1740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinmarketcap hack leaked 3.1 million emails! on: October 24, 2021, 03:29:19 PM
they said only emails without password im sub to haveibeenpwned and i received the mail today
Upon reading this thread I quickly checked my email account and it seems I didn't receive any, can you quote it here what you've received or how to determine that your email account associated with Coinmarketcap has been leaked or compromised?

In their Twitter account, there's no leak to their server as they said.
Quote
"You may have seen some information online about CoinMarketCap emails — we want to assure our users that there has been no leak from our own servers."

There's no really safe on the internet and everything is vulnerable to hacking, it's a good thing they announced that they didn't have been hacked.
A little bit worried because I used my email here in Bitcointalk that linked to Coinmarketcap and I think it needs to change.
