Excellent work. Should we do a fundraiser for a prweb press release? The cost is $500.

I think someone is LaTex-ing it, and putting images in. Probably worth waiting for that?

BTC for network effect. BTCD for privacy. NXT for 2.0. Is there anything missing from a crypto ecosystem/portfolio?
MIC
it is up 100x in the last week!

James

P.S. full disclosure, I am biggest MIC whale, JLH owns 10% of it Smiley

I really thought that thing was just for comedy. I'll have to post a meme now.

All of this because a little dump of Ethereum? What is going to happend when they dump all the 24k coins?

Probably what happened when the Silk Road coins were 'dumped'.

Cross-posting from NXT forum - job opportunity for a dev with experience of digital publishing platforms. https://nxtforum.org/job-board/digital-content-platform-maintenance-and-further-publishing-projects/
If you're a dev working or thinking of working on BTCD, do that instead!

BitPay/Coinbase for online gambling? Do you know what they do?
Sorry, I don't gamble so I don't know how online gambling sites work.  You mean that they only take bitcoins, is that correct?

Where is the facepalm icon? I swear I've seen one around somewhere.

Been away from this thread for quite a while due to boredom and loss of patience with its many trolls. But hey, finally, something's up. Is this the long-overdue $540 retest?

Hi All,

I would really like to know if this coin is genuine or not!

I have been reading of a lot of positives of this coin, but have seen a similar stream of criticism as well. I know that this is a DRK competitor and the DRK community is pretty fierce when it comes to defending DRK, but really got to know if this coin is worth investing in for now.

If you read the darkpaper (link from OP) and last dozen or so pages of the thread, you'll get a good idea of what's going on.

Reporting in btcd community, used to work with james on Nxt multigateway and looking to contribute towards here as well.

Cheers

Hello longzai1988. Is there something specific you'll be working on?

I will be working on GUI for btcd reskined interface

That's great. I'm really looking forward to this collaborative approach with other cryptos, and a dual wallet working off the same address will be very handy.

The BTCD dev team is hiring for the GUI wallet Smiley

I am no coder, but if anyone reading is interested:

https://coinality.com/jobs/create-modified-version-of-the-btcd-bitcoindark-qt-wallet-elance-job/

Job Description

We need a modified version of the BTCD (Bitcoindark) qt-wallet. My friend James is working on a technology called “Teleport” that allows anonymous transactions that leave no trace in the blockchain.

The things that the GUI needs to do is:
1. Establish connection with a privacyServer (just needs IP, and NXT acct password)
2. Manage Telepods (You need to have a changepod and some unitpods, so requesting a changepod from faucet, creating unitpods)
3. Transporter function to teleport to specific destination
4. Publish public addresses so other people can do number 3 themselves. (I want to support having BTCD, NXT and BTC public addresses)
5. Display NXT address that is linked to a BTCD address (I will make it so that BTCD address’es privatekey is NXT password, so the two addresses are linked)

EDIT: I just found this on Elance.com

So will this be a fully integrated BTCD-NXT client, which will hold balances for both, and include teleport functionality but also NXT's features (Asset Exchange, MGW if desired, DGS)?

James - possible solution to speed up sending/aging pods in early stages might be for recipients to send change back? Perhaps this is what you had in mind with each user stocking a few unitpods though. Anonymity wouldn't be an issue if they'd purchased them from a reputable telepod vendor in the first place, rather than made them themselves.

Voted.
I'm getting a couple of cryptographer friends to look over the darkpaper. Hopefully we'll get some good feedback. Like 'ok, my job just got a lot harder.'

I'm just using the Windows BitcoinDark-qt. I could really do with more information about stuff like backing up/restoring wallets, using keys, etc. Is that information in this long thread or elsewhere - I haven't been able to find it.

Also guys, look at the Asset Exchange, some posted a 60 BTC wall on mgwBTC , Awesome!!!

I saw someone was trying to buy 1m NXT for BTC. https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/price-speculation/msg78529/#msg78529

WARNING !!! aproximatly 2 milion coins from Bitcoindark are premined by the dev, get out asap proof coming in 5 min

Wow!
On the bright side, anyone capable of pre-mining 2 million coins out of a total of 1.2 million has probably got a pretty good grasp of maths.

I know this is off topic and everything, but maybe people could punt this around a bit:

As you were, gentlemen.

Something is terribly, terribly important here.

Not sure what though.
1738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: August 08, 2014, 08:05:58 AM
I have found James is busy with BTCD.Why?

Some pretty cool anon tech going on that will benefit not only NXT but every crypto (and therefore NXT more so since a lot of trading will happen through InstantDEX). Plus integration of NXT client (if I've understood correctly) into BTCD to continue the 'powered by NXT' approach of currency-agnostic services built on NXT's platform - MGW, DGS etc.

Ugh. Said I was going to bow out of this thread after making my point repeatedly and crossing swords with that vile idiot yonce. But it won't go away from my 'new replies'.

I wouldn't take that bet, even if I did bet, and I am almost certain it is a ponzi. I don't get why people think the regular payouts give it any kind of legitimacy. They don't. Ponzis carry on, paying out nicely, until they don't. Then it all falls apart overnight. What determines how long they keep going is 1) how many more people get signed up and 2) how fast they pay out the new money this brings. 120 more days is quite possible.

Does anyone have any idea about 1? It only takes one $50,000 'investor' to allow them to play for time for quite a while if most people are testing the water with $20 or $100.

And has anyone tried blockchain analysis to try to figure out where the money is coming from, if exchanges are even involved at any point?

Here's one last thing to think about. IF it's a ponzi, then you can expect the people running it to be dishonest in more than one way. That's not a stretch, right? Well, they have your email address, and your password. And lots of people reuse passwords. So if you're not 100% confident these guys are as pure as the driven snow, you might want to change that password.

EDIT: the payouts of finished contracts don't fundamentally alter things. Sure it's a bit more they've got to cover, especially if a whale is cashing out. If - it looks like plenty of people reinvest because oh, it's proven itself now. If they do cash out, it just means they have to sign up a few more people.

LOL 'vile idiot yonce' - I had my run-in's with that fool also...... makes me laugh you call him a vile idiot.  Now he seems to have disappeared. I wonder if he pissed the wrong person off?!?!

I understand the 'official ponzi' of which he was an administrator collapsed. Though I think his narrative is a little different... it seems he acted impeccably throughout and was stitched up, or something.
Yonce's attitude was that ponzis are fine, assuming that his downlines are only other people who know it's a ponzi. Which is a little bit like selling guns to drug dealers, but not actually shooting anyone yourself.
Can't say I miss him.
