1763  Other / Meta / Re: Does Merit points will become business in this Forum? on: January 28, 2018, 03:45:18 PM
Some might use it as a business resource as someone allocate his merit points as exchange of some money.
Do the forum have to make more regulation about merit points,

Negative trust is being given by higher rank members for suspicious accounts misusing the new system. We may see other stronger actions being taken in future. See whatever change you do, there are always some people who try to game the system. Overall this is expected to give good results in long run.
1764  Other / Meta / Re: MEMES INSIDE List of people being happy and sad with MERITS on: January 28, 2018, 03:42:27 PM
You are example of person that received 13 merits, but all were given in topics that belong to merit topics.
So what is the issue with it if I am making quality posts here. You asked a query here and if I am providing my opinion about this, what is wrong with it. Regarding me making posts here only, I had made posts in other sections as well. But if someone has noticed posts in this section only, how is this my fault ?

You are right that people are not getting that many merits in other section and I hope this gets better with time.
1765  Other / Meta / Re: Do you think merit sources are fair? on: January 28, 2018, 03:29:10 PM
I ask this one because the possibility that all the merit sources would not have same response for someone's post. Let say i posted with quality and half of the merit sources send me a merit while the others did not. Do you think it is fair?
Consider yourself very lucky if half of those  merit sources are sending you merit for quality posts. You will reach the higher ranks in very less time with this provided you keep making quality posts. I am fine with even one noticing my quality posts.

Also a small suggestion use a capital "I" in your sentences instead of "i" irrespective of wherever it occurs.
1766  Other / Meta / Re: MEMES INSIDE List of people being happy and sad with MERITS on: January 28, 2018, 03:24:29 PM
2. Merit can be given by anyone once or two a week (rank dependent, newbie 0, member 1, full members 2, hero 3, legendary 5 etc). Junior moderator have sometimes to check if these merits are given properly, especially for lower rank members.
If this is allowed, people will start creating accounts in bulk and use their free merits to rank up those accounts. This will defeat the purpose of introducing the system.

Regarding the people being happy and sad with the decisions, it is better if you keep your emotions independent of the rules of a forum you are registered with.
1767  Other / Meta / Re: Pluses of the merit score system on: January 28, 2018, 02:43:21 PM
Why not? Merit system you know... quality

Creating a new thread for expressing something that is already said here multiple times is quality. May be you need to rethink about what is a quality post.
1768  Other / Meta / Re: Pluses of the merit score system on: January 28, 2018, 02:24:58 PM
Do we really need another thread about this ? You have stated the same things that other expressed. Better to post in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0 and keep the forum clean.
1769  Other / Meta / Re: Please limit merit awards to one per post per person. on: January 28, 2018, 01:19:25 PM
They are not scarce.. 10k new sMerits will come out every month. Once given then 5000 sMerits will be passed down, then 2500 and so on... don't you see?

What I meant to say here was that with time all the default Smerits that members got will get exhausted. This means that the number of available Smerits will reduce considerably. After few months, it will stabilize again.
1770  Other / Meta / Re: A concise infographic surmising the new merit system! on: January 28, 2018, 01:01:44 PM
Do we really need one more ? We already have some:

If you want to create one infographich create something unique like this guy :

1771  Other / Meta / Re: Please limit merit awards to one per post per person. on: January 28, 2018, 12:23:55 PM
With time people will realize how scarce these merits are going to be. All most of the members forget one thing that a good post is bound to get merits from multiple users here. Thus even those 1 merit per person can add up to 10 or 20 for a good quality post.

I am not surprised if such a rule is enforced in future especially for the general members (except merit sources). For quality threads also one should not give more than 5 merits. However, this is  my personal opinion and a lot of members will say that they are free to do whatever they want with their merits.
1772  Other / Meta / Re: 10 BASIC INFO. ABOUT MERIT on: January 28, 2018, 07:09:42 AM
OP, you forgot to add another good point there:

Easiest way to get merits in bulk: Write and essay on Benefits of merit system or make an Infographic.
1773  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for a better forum on: January 28, 2018, 06:59:23 AM
First there are way to many people selling BCT account at market place and Mod can't catch up with everything so I suggest using the report button every 10 report made could allow you to earn some merit?

I know your intentions are to improve this forum but you also need to thin about whether the propose change is practical or not. The system you suggested can be gamed in a number of ways:

1) A user can create 10 accounts , make 10 spam posts each from that account. The he will report all these from main account and earn Smerit. That is an easy way to get Smerit and spammers will completely ruin the new system.

2) One this feature is introduced, there will be a race among users. Many of them will start digging through posts made years back and reporting them. It is nice if those are removed but that will be a lot of work for the moderators.
1774  Other / Meta / Re: 10 BASIC INFO. ABOUT MERIT on: January 28, 2018, 06:53:27 AM
Hi. I am new here. What is merit? Grin
Read the official thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

All doubts related to the new system had been explained in responses. If you still have a doubt, you can ask there.
1775  Other / Meta / Re: Since bitcointalk is free to use, why the hate towards this new merit system? on: January 27, 2018, 07:07:44 PM
If someone was tricking a system and the system owner fixed some loopholes, it will disappoint that person for sure. I think that we may see reduced activity on this forum in coming months but quality of posts is expected to be better.
1776  Other / Meta / Re: What will you do then? Please be truthful while answering it. on: January 27, 2018, 07:02:33 PM
I am quite exhausted from all this Merit drama. People coming back again and again with same thing. The ultimate reason behind it is signature campaign. Here, I'm asking the question to our loyal community what is there option in case signature campaigns story comes to an end and it goes forever from the Bitcointalk.org

A lot of people will leave. You may see decrease in total number of registrations per day. But why will the admin let something like that happen. Also, since this is the most popular crypto forum, I only see increase in number of those campaigns.
1777  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 27, 2018, 06:57:06 PM
What should I learn from this?
Sure, there are many members with a higher rank that try to help and try to be fair but as long as those other things happen, people will feel bad. I certainly do.

There can be some exceptions. His post was made just few minutes after the change was announced and the people giving those merits might not have got used to the system. Also, you did a great job and for such a work, you will keep getting merits. Last time I checked, you have 7 in total for that instead of 6.
1778  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: January 27, 2018, 06:53:00 PM
Just little more time and this forum gonna change to merittalk.org!!

Checked on GoDaddy and it is still available:

Yes! Your domain is available. Buy it before someone else does.
merittalk.org
₹ 1,339.00*
₹ 299.00

On a serious note, people will get used to the system with time and stop making so many threads about merit system.
1779  Other / Meta / Re: My take on Merit on: January 27, 2018, 06:50:16 PM
On top of this the merit score doesn't really discourage the old timers from posting shitposts either for campaign purposes.  The lower ranks still have to read those..

In a recently launched campaign, all rank members are being given higher payout if they have some earned merits. With time, we can see the earned merits being given more importance in these campaigns for old timers as well.
1780  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 27, 2018, 04:48:16 PM
Hi, I am a recent member of the forum so donīt expect very intelligent questions. I just read about the merit system but, as I understand it, if I make a question in the forum and someone gives a good answer I canīt do anything to reward him or her. I would have to wait for another member that has merit to give away and notice that I have been helped.
You can make good posts and earn some merits for yourself. Then you can give those merits to deserving posts. Get noticed  by merit sources by making quality sources, they are watching you. Also check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2832127.0 , it mentions threads where others are offering merits for quality posts.
