1761  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [wts] ATI Radeon Reference fans in stock about 1.9 btc us shipped on: September 14, 2012, 01:42:23 AM
is this the "narrow wire clip" fan? or the "fat wire clip" fan?

We have both.  We charge $3 more for the small clip fan.   The small clip fan works in both, the large clip fan works in 5970's but not in everything else.  Some 5870's seem to take the small one, some don't.

1763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone or some group is disturbed by Bitcoin. Vandalism on Wikipedia. on: September 13, 2012, 11:23:00 PM

Things like the debate over global warming are purged, and Wikipedia presents one side of an argument as 'consensus'.  What Wikipedia's insistence on 'consensus' means is that only one view will ever be presented and the most aggressive group purges all dissent.  And the most aggressive group over there is an authoritarian left-wing - that hates sound money.  Knowledge is power and their goal is to limit and shape everyone else's.  NPOV is of course totally Orwellian, they've simply declared their POV as 'neutral'.

Wikipedia may have a left wing bent to it.  If you don't like it, participate in it and if that does not work start your own.  The wikipedia people are even kind enough to give you all of the tools for free!   You can even with a little more effort populate it with the current version from wikipedia, lock it so only you and people with opinions you like can edit it, and create your own version of the truth.

I have disagreements with how they operate and therefore do not contribute, but in general they are a valuable source of information.

(que all of the users who will quote errors in wikipedia.....)

How do you reconcile the obviously fake impact crater of Flight 93 with the theories that government was or was not involved?

If the government was involved, why shoot down the plane and fake an impact crater?

If the government was not involved, why should we believe 100% of the official story after they covered up the shooting down of Flight 93?

Seriously?  Where do people come up with this stuff?

The impact crater for flight 93 is consistent with other plane impact craters.  Just because YOU do not know what an impact crater looks like does not mean it is a conspiracy.

1767  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gigamining math on: September 12, 2012, 04:08:59 AM
Calling it a scam because you think the price set by free participants spending their own money is wrong makes no sense.

You don't like the price, you don't buy it.

I met Giga, very nice guy, solid mining plan imo, I'm confident he'll be able and willing to deliver exactly what he promises. I bought no bonds because I thought they were priced higher than they were worth, that's all there is to it.

I call it a scam because of who he is associated with and how he is associated with pirate.

Gigavps probably got other investors' coins as "interest" payments given that pirate can't seem to bring things all together if this whole "business" he was running was sound and not some scam/ponzi.

Gigavps gives pirate ridiculous OTC rating given pirate hasn't delivered jack since closing BTCST.

"0.1/459 accounts paid" as an example of how ridiculous pirate is and giga supports him.

I call bullshit. Long-term gigavps will end up scamming people himself.

I find that you start to be like the people you surround yourself with. This situation with pirate is no different.

I agree with you about the OTC rating he did sucks but still you are getting to the point of guilt by association.   I see no scam here, he does have a business model and is capable of fulfilling his agreements.
1768  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We Are Now One Year Away From Global Riots, Complex Systems Theorists Say on: September 12, 2012, 03:55:16 AM
I do not believe that we are one year away as this has been trumpeted many times.  I do on the other hand have insurance.  Even if you do not believe, PLEASE have at least 30 days of food for yourself and your family.  Go to the dollar store and buy 30 cans of food per person minimum.  Yes, 1 can a day is not much, but it plus water is enough to survive.  You are talking $30 per person.  Just do it.
1769  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gigamining math on: September 12, 2012, 03:49:49 AM
I have no skin in this game, no business with gigavps.  This is NOT a scam.  Recommend that this get moved to service discussion.
1770  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 9/11 is the Litmus Test on: September 12, 2012, 03:41:02 AM

That said, the thing that is most suspicious to me is how quickly and perfectly the buildings fell.  I can't imagine that all of the beams in the structure were heated up to the same (failure) temperature at the same time.  And if they weren't, then the failing beams vs the beams not heated to failure should have caused the buildings to topple sideways, not straight down.  Then again, I'm not an engineer by any means, so maybe it's the sort of "straw that broke the camel's back".  If one out of 16 beams fail, then the other 15 can't hold the weight or something.

I don't take sides on this.  To me, there isn't conclusive evidence one way or another.

They didn't fall cleanly, watch the videos from all sides.  There is conclusive evidence of EXACTLY each single point of failure and how it contributed EXACTLY to the failure that took place.

Have you seen our government working? They couldn't pull off 9/11 even with the blessing of the American people.

+1

The entire sequence of events for the twin towers was videotaped.  Even the start of the collapses of each building has no mirror to the trained eye on a controlled demo.  The buildings collapse at the points of impact, a controlled demo is always done from the bottom.  No controlled demo has been done from the top down before.

On another note,  it is sad that the 'truthers' do not concentrate on the evil things the government has done in the name of 9-11.  They did not do 9-11 but they CERTAINLY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF IT.  All of this controlled demo talk distracts from the evil that has been done in the name of it.

Let us remember the WTC towers were the only buildings known to be perfectly demolished in a linear fashion from small aircraft.

I think you have an unusual definition of small.

All the math and engineering add up for the destruction of the towers exactly as it happened on 9-11 from the aircraft hits.  The buildings would have not fallen without the fire.  The buildings would not have fallen without a key weakness in the floor trusses.   The buildings would not have fallen if the heat insulation on the beams had held or the fire suppression system worked (which would be hard to keep intact knowing what hit them).
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anti Fractional Reserve Day on: September 11, 2012, 05:14:07 AM
A proper exchange with a cold wallet is not going to be able to do this in one day with full security.  They will either need to delay and check, and do the moves in increments to be sure it is legitimate.  You will not know if they really had all of the coins or not as it would end up getting spread over several days.  If they can do it all in one day they either didn't check hard enough or they had no cold storage and didn't check at all.

Which is worse, fractional reserve or bad security?

1777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 81 days until bitcoin block = 25 bitcoins on: September 11, 2012, 02:09:50 AM
If everyone turns off I'll CPU mine and get all the coins!

It's a self balancing system. Worst case imo is waiting 20 minutes for blocks for a little while.
True but I doubt even that will happen.  We might lose 20% off the top at the most.  Block times may go to 14 mins average for two weeks then normalize.  If the price rises even that might not happen.
1778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 81 days until bitcoin block = 25 bitcoins on: September 11, 2012, 01:55:46 AM
what's going to happen? do all the miners stop mining because of the lessened reward at that point?
hope not, no miners = no Bitcoin
it is not like this is a surprise, the reward halving is part of how Bitcoin works
though if you explore the forums further you will find there are many different plans to "cope" with this.

Turning off miners is something you need to do.  Most people will not turn them off right away.  It will half the profit in mining, throwing many miners into losses after power.  That does not mean that everyone who is losing money will shut down.  Some people just like to mine!  Others would not repair miners that fail as they are profitable so there will be a slow decline there.

Price is a different matter..... Price may rise or the market may have accounted for it already.  Who knows!

2) refused to comply in good faith with pirate's request for PPT account information

3) refused to comply with his own BitcoinMax account holders' requests that their account info be passed through to pirate

These two items are a smokescreen and make zero difference.  All of your other points stand.
