1761  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do we raise our kids in this kinda society on: May 17, 2022, 10:07:48 PM
The wisest way to lead our child to a positive life is to teach religion to them...

I disagree. It's wise to teach children about religions, not to force them into a certain religion.

Quote
With the increasingly free and easy access in this era, it is very natural for us as parents to worry about the future of our children. people who are involved with prostitution and drugs certainly do not have a strong belief in religion, they only care about lust so that has led them since they were young to know more about religion, according to your religion.

What about drug cartels from Central and South America? They build churches, have altars in their houses, wear jewelry with religious symbols and often pray.
Taliban terrorists are usually very religious as well.

It's important that children learn to be good people, know ethics. Telling them that they can always wipe away some sins through confession will not teach them responsibility.
1762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you knew the founder of Bitcoin, would you still use it? on: May 17, 2022, 09:56:37 PM
What if it was created by persons like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, etc. These are the people who don't respect their customers' privacy.

Raise it up a bit and let's make it more interesting!

What if Craig Wright comes with all the keys and signatures proving he is Satoshi?  Grin
I know is close to impossible but a lot of people will start doing a lot of licking where they previously spit.

Anyhow, it doesn't matter, tor was created by the NRL,  SHA-2 was designed by the NSA, it can't get worse than this.

I'd probably dump some of my coins in fear of bitcoin being smeared in the media for being associated with Craig and people like him. It wouldn't be to protest against CSW, but to protect my money from a possible panic coming from, for example, an attack on Satoshi. Imagine seeing a headline in the media "Bitcoin founder kidnapped". People would freak out thinking that they're going extort his coins from him and crash the market. Even if I we were to stay calm, others would not.

Finding out Satoshi's identity wouldn't have to be a bad thing, but we're talking about a huge negative combo of Satoshi being discovered, alive and being someone who is, to say the least, not respected by the community.
1763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your epic fail experience in gambling on: May 17, 2022, 09:10:36 PM
I was in shocked that balance got zero after hitting more than 30's red streak and all my BTC that I earned for a week is already gone overnight just because I follow some random guy trick while my strategy is working at that time.
Was it really the fault of auto betting? You were bound to hit that streak sooner or later on manual betting.

What would you do if you had 15 reds? Stop playing? How about 20? Stop or keep rolling? The problem is that people think they would be in control if it wasn't automated, but usually they aren't. Even if we were -50% and had to roll all or noting now to get back in the game most of us would try it instead of letting go and taking the loss.
1764  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin is too volatile? Bitcoin VS Netflix, Apple, FB, PayPal, ..etc on: May 17, 2022, 08:56:33 PM
Many of us realize and appreciate that there is much more going on in determining BTC price than merely what happens to be its fair price, and for sure, in recent years, there are some challenges in regards to both increased financialization of bitcoin, but also various kinds of financial instruments that are used to gain exposure to bitcoin's price while never touching bitcoin, and also likely to be used to manipulate bitcoin's price down to way below fair value - so there can be some challenges in attempting to defend BTC's fair value

Futures are the scourge of crypto, just like altcoins that are trying to gain exposure and legitimacy by pretending to have BTC backing. We could really use a spot ETF.

Guys, don't compare stocks with cryptos. The movement in stocks are mostly fueled by the hard facts whereas we have to speculate the reason for crypto's movement. They are not same.

For example Netflix, Their share price depends on the revenue, new addition of subscribers, loss of subscribers and growth percentage. If you want to speculate on Netflix stock, you can look forward for these data points.

For crypto, we never certainly know (in most cases) what is the reason if bitcoin's price suddenly crashes. Bitcoin market is a truly free and global market which is very very difficult to speculate based on some specific parameters. So both stocks and crypto are volatile, but let's not compare them!
I feel like we should compare things. How are we otherwise going to be able to tell if they are similar or not? We can't deny that many traders trade both stocks and cryptos.

With Netflix it was about competition and the end of the pandemic. They also started slacking a bit and you could get better movies on Prime for a fraction of the money.

I feel like when Bitcoin crashes it's either right after a peak, like it did in the middle of last year and it coincided with Musk selling and some other things, or it's a bigger picture like stocks crashing, a global recession, pandemic and similar. A good example of such crash is 2020 when price managed to recover fast because the problem was not with Bitcoin, but came from fear of the unknown.
Personally I feel like we've already witnessed the peak selloff twice (May and December 2021) This last drop is more like the 2020 crash.
1765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk won't save Doge or Bitcoin this time on: May 16, 2022, 09:20:57 PM
Elon saving bitcoin? Who's going to save Elon then? Tesla stock is down 35% in the last 6 months and even more from its ATH? In traditional market this is a huge drop. Crypotocurrencies can easily go -50% and it's considered normal, but traditional stocks rarely go down more than 20% and if they do it's a bloodbath for investors.
Bitcoin doesn't need saving. It's on its way to $100k in the next 2 years.
1766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UST Stable coin depegs from dollar USD may Crash BTC,cause crypto death spiral on: May 16, 2022, 08:54:30 PM
Also, it is speculated that a major liquidity provider in the cryptospace has lost much of its equity in UST and Luna. This might cause the whole market to dump lower. Follow the Luna wolf tattoo hehehee.

Bitcoin does not rely on Luna. There was completely no connection up until Luna team decided to boost people's confidence by buying BTC. Then they sold that BTC all at once in panic, proving that BTC was not to back the token. It was just there for show, to make people think that there is any backing. That's why there was such a panic among holders of Luna because they thought devs are running an exit scam. Bitcoin was doing great long before Luna was created and it will be doing so long after it's gone. Now that all BTC held by Luna devs was sold there's no possible way for Luna to impact bitcoin.
1767  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Finland and Sweden OFFICIALLY announce their intention to join NATO on: May 16, 2022, 11:15:12 AM
So can we now expect Putin’s "special military operation" in Finland as well? Russia has already threatened Finland with retaliatory measures. If it should prove to be correct, Moscow may take offensive military action on the eastern border of the another sovereign country.

I bet the Chinese would love to see Russia try to take on Finland and make itself even more vulnerable. What would Russians throw at them? Those traumatized soldiers who are thinking of giving up or harming themselves to be taken home?
At this point Russia wouldn't be able to win against Finland alone, and if Finland gets attacked Sweden will send troops to help. If they join NATO, attacking them would be throwing all of your army away because Russia was no match for NATO even before the war in Ukraine.

All Russia can do at this point is stall and hope to negotiate a ceasefire. If it attacks another country it's going to weaken its presence in Ukraine and Ukrainians will liberate everything and put Russian towns along the border under artillery fire.
1768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Holding or Using ? on: May 15, 2022, 08:36:27 PM
I do spend and I have nothing against spending. The thing is, I try to wait for the right price to spend. I won't do it now because 55% down from the ATH seems like a bad moment to do it.

You could say that I don't encourage others to spend and thus don't add to the ecosystem or something like that, but how would my little 1k USD spent on electronics make value in the multi billion dollar system? Maybe rich people could make it work and show others how it's done, but we little people have to wait it out so that we don't get left behind but those "strong hands" who don't need things urgently and can wait.
1769  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto trading has caused more depression in 2021/2022 on: May 14, 2022, 10:31:04 AM
Although suicides are a sad thing, those people are in a way victims of their own greed. For this to happen there has to be a certain chain of unfortunate events and irresponsible actions taken by an individual. In case of Luna it was the following:
They chose to invest in a new altcoin, instead of an established project like BTC or ETH.
They went all in, investing more than they can afford to lose.
They did not set any stop losses, did not react fast enough.
They were greedy and decided to hold a coin that obviously had huge problems. For me personally, the first red flag would be promising to buy 2 billion in BTC and buying only half of the promised amount. The second red flag, selling the btc safety fund all at once - it's a sign of panic and irresponsibility by the owner.
If you sold at first red flag you'd be up on your investment, if you waited to the second one you'd be down about 60%, if you disregarded both, you took a 100% loss. Only shitcoins and scams can go that low.

No matter how bad it looks, you are alive. Money can be made again, it's not the end of the world. Don't ever kill yourself over a stupid investment, your life is worth more!

Putin’s 83% public approval rating proves that the Russian people understand what he is doing and fully support him.

Ever thought how those ratings are checked? They call random people and ask them questions, but the trick is that if they know the number, they know who they're calling. Russians fear repressions so they either say they support Putin or act dumb and say they don't care about politics.
What repressions? Those that get you arrested for every little thing. A guy was arrested for wearing shoes in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. An old lady was arrested for walking with a "no to war" card.
A commander of the fleet was arrested when Moskva sunk and a local mayor of a town where a couple houses burned due to forest fires was also arrested because in Russia when things go wrong somehow you look for someone to blame and put in jail.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Rollers on: May 13, 2022, 06:25:04 PM
When you come to the casino, you should be aware that you are likely to spend all your money, no matter what bets you make, what bankroll you have and what game strategy you prefer. If a person comes to the casino to win means he does not understand how casinos work or he engages in self-deception, which in the case of a loss will lead to severe frustration.
Those who come to the casino already understand the undeniable risk of defeat but greed is the main enemy of gambling. But they are also aware of winning at any given moment so all points in gambling should be taken into account and don't bet on high bets that are not ready to lose.
What is simple to say?

Only use money that you can afford losing because gambling is a place were losing is much expected than Winning .

So why need to furthermore the explanation when it is given about the way we gamble is the way we accept losses.

Do you know any people who can afford to lose a million USD in a single bet? How about losing it in 3 bets in a row like the guy that OP posted.
For me such bets are crazy. Not only risky but also desperate in a way. You could be having fun playing for a long time and be entertained but instead you're trying to push the limits and put the most money possible on a single bet just to see if you can? Maybe it was a drunk bet or something.
1773  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 13, 2022, 11:03:05 AM
Of course, Russian soldiers on a minu-bus, ridiculous lol... what is going to be next? Them trying to scape a drone in a Lada ... that cannot be!

It's another proof of constant denials by Russians. You can clearly see a bus with V on it so that Russians would not shoot it. There's no reason for Ukrainians to use that mark as it would draw fire from their own troops.
Russian answer - our soldiers don't drive in vans, you're stupid. They don't mark cars with V, it would only drive attention.

In reality:
Russian special forces use 'Red Cross' ambulances to practise brutal ambush techniques
Belarusian journalists received numerous photo and video reports of cars without licence plates, but marked with the V sign on the sides and bumpers driving on Belarusian roads.

When they catch you stealing, tell them it's all propaganda and you were not really there.
This is a prime example of how Russians really are. Lie when you get caught and maybe you'll make it somehow.
2 russians try to trick ukrainian police officer
1774  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 12, 2022, 10:15:18 PM
Gonzalo Lira (independent journalist in the Ukraine)

From conspiracy theorist and incel youtuber that goes by "Coach Red Pill", to one of the few independent journalist in Ukraine, probably the world, that have earned the trust of tvbcof.

Isn't this the guy that was supposed to be dead?
I remember reading a posts in this thread where some of our supporters of Russia were saying that Azov or whoever kidnapped and killed this "independent journalist".

It's common for Russian trolls to use fear and misinformation tactics. For instance, Lukashenko did an interview yesterday and staged it so that the journalist of a state-owned TV channel would ask if he's prepared for an attack by Poland, so that he'd be able to make an unwarranted threat towards that country, a country that Belarus was attacking since the beginning of the year with the use of migrants from Africa and their own military, disguised as civilians.

Putin tries to make it look like NATO and Ukraine are the aggressors, yet NATO is not issuing any threats. I'd like to remind everyone than NATO is not flying its bombers into the air space of Russia, or Belarus, it's not staging attacks on any borders, it's not sending military personnel to blind border patrols with lasers in hope of provoking them to fire and last but not least, it's not waging a war (and losing).

Makes me think how many more are swimming at the bottom. In the picture with a closeup of T72 tanks that managed to cross the river you can see a lot of scrap right under the surface and then the water gets too deep to see anything. Probably a bunch of their tanks went looking for Moskva.
1775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WE NEED A HALL OF FAME? on: May 12, 2022, 09:50:58 PM
Well make it one table yeah do that, good idea to know that. We can see smart people in making predictions too so that their speech can be trusted to be followed, there are many interesting things on the board games and rounds, some people often win in a competition. You can check, if I'm not mistaken, also betja always makes a soccer prediction competition every week and the names of the participants are open for everyone to know. I agree with your idea.

Do you really feel that winning a competition makes someone more trusted or worth listening to? If we believe in the concept of luck then a single win can be exactly that. Trusting other people and betting like they do just because you saw them win can make you lose even more than if you were to bet alone and you'll feel even worse for trusting them.

A hall of fame isn't a bad idea especially for casinos because it will show where people are winning the most, but it shouldn't serve as a guide for new people and make them fall victim of people who sell predictions.
1776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PROS AND CONS OF CRRYPTOGAMBLING. on: May 11, 2022, 10:27:15 PM
The major challenge of a cryptocurrency casino is the fact that most casinos do not have an office so when there are cases of scams you don't know where to go to, unlike physical casinos that can be sued for any illegal act online cryptocurrency casinos can not easily be sued cause most of them have no physical office.

How does that make it any different when we compare a crypto casino to a fiat casino? The way I see it OP wanted to give pros and cons of crypto vs fiat and not compare online gambling to stationary casinos. Both online fiat casino and ones using crypto will face the same problems when it comes to scams.

The risk with a crypto casino will depend on the coin. If you choose to gamble with an altcoin that loses 50% value in one day, you're going to negate your wins just like that. I feel that volatility may be one of the biggest problems a gambling site might face.
1777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Michael Saylor margin call if Bitcoin dumps below $21,000 on: May 11, 2022, 02:33:05 PM
What makes such scenario realistic is the ability of Bitcoin to flash crash into very low levels for no big reason. One of such moments was a 50% crash when quarantine was announced, there was no fundamental reasons for Bitcoin to crash so hard, yet panic and cascading liquidations did their job.

Even retail investors can take a lesson from it - never trade with leverage on a volatile market.

that was not a flash crash
that was the ignorance of people not realising that the pump to the ATH was the strange scenario.. of no fundamental reason for the high
the correction after that was the normal expectation after any pump

That crash hatshepsut93 was talking about was 10k-4k That wasn't a crash after a pump or an ATH. The price was stable in the 7-9k range for a long time at that point. It was a so called black swan event, a strange scenario. There was no fundemental reason to go that low. It went that low because all trading is done on a fraction of Bitcoins that are in circulation and the price is dictated by a few big exchanges. You manage to crash binance or coinbase and you get a worldwide ripple effect.

It's a legitimate borrowing business.
All fun and games until you get a legitimate Cyprus bailout and find out your money aren't really your property. They were yours for as long as they allowed you to take them.

I am not denying the fact that you're participating in the exchange of the tickets for a concert since 2009. But you're denying the facts that the concret never took place.

The moment tickets become goods, services, entertainment, is the moment the concert takes place. We're both standing at it, just that you have fingers in your ears, trying to tell people you don't hear anything.
This conversation is pointless.

1779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think New Casino Should Partnered With Bounty Managers To Gain Trust? on: May 11, 2022, 01:43:30 PM
You're both taking a risk doing that. If you get partnered with a manager or any other respected and trusted person, you can both benefit from it until one of the parties fuck up and loses trust of the community, then it impacts both parties. I think it's worth doing it as long as you can strike a deal that both parties will accept and I'm not only talking about bounty managers. Getting trusted legendary members on your team is also a good idea. I feel like it can be even better than a signature campaign.
1780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Paradox - a Simple Online Scam Honored as Deity on: May 11, 2022, 12:41:19 PM
You did nothing of the sort. You just participated in the system tha creates the illusion of asset by attributing the units of Satoshi's imagined quantity to virtual addresses. Or, to use your analogy, you just participated in the exchanging of the tickets for a concert that will never take place.
I know you try to ignore the facts, but the concert is taking place since 2009.
When I imagine something, it's only in my mind. When I pay someone and he can buy physical goods with it, there's no imagining anything.
Guess what, when you send a bank transfer, it's also done virtually on a bank's server, just that there's no backup, no blockchain. If the server catches fire, your transaction disappears. When the bank defaults you don't get the money. When a country goes into war and limits withdrawals you don't get the money.
