Okay, that swept 1.41 XMR plus .30 for the fee.  Brought my balance down to a little less than 4.  Tried to send 3.0 and it gave me the not enough coins bit.  Says only something like .7 available in red.  I have been mining directly to that wallet (0.9.4) so does this mean that balance is phony?

Appreciate the help

After you sweep the coins, you probably have to wait 10 blocks before the new inputs get confirmed.

You mean to say when I use the light wallet I would also have to open simplewallet.exe in the console at the same time? I do not get it. I thought you only open the light wallet and do everything from there.

Lightwallet uses simplewallet behind the scenes, but you shouldn't have to do anything special to get it to save. After it completes the sync it will issue a save command every few minutes, or there is a button to save it on the wallet tab. Initially it says "Not saved Sad" in red, but should change to something green when it successfully stores the wallet.

Yes it said that it already saved and the color changed to green. So I closed the wallet and the reopened it then it started to sync again from 0. I was using Windows 64bit. Maybe it needs a little tweaking. Anyway I will try again using Linux later tonight if I have the time.

Weird. I've tested it more on Windows than Linux for sure. Are you launching from a different directory or something from command line or something?

No clue where dev is.

I'd suggest make an account on AWS. Buy a code like this one:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1596689.0
You should be able to run a micro instance for a year for $10 or less by buying a promo code like that here. Then you can give me access to your account, or just access to an instance/VPS that you set up (please use Ubuntu for OS if you set up an instance).

You can run two OS on one computer, either as dual boot, or run one as a VM inside the other, but you don't need to have Linux on your computer to have Linux on a VPS.

What's the name of the code?

I guess Vcash is hybrid. But why not ETC or ETH or SIA? They're all pure POW with higher volume than XVC or DGB.

Bought some a month or two ago. Soaked in salt water for a few hours, then chopped and sauteed with garlic and red peppers, and used saute mixture to top grilled new york strip steaks with some butter on top. Tres bien  Smiley

Isn't Vcash PoS? DASH quasi-PoS? And DBG premine shitcoin still on Bitcoin v0.8 codebase?

How did you pick these coins? Names in a hat? Bags you be holding?

Amazing contribution, nice work, trying it now.

update:
Running it now. getting 2260 h/s on 4 cores. 4770k cpu

questions:
1) How do I change default pool & wallets address to my own upon launch? So each time the app launches the fields are pre-populated with my information?
2) Do I need to be a member of a pool or just add my local wallet address?

thanks,
john

Thanks! To answer your questions:
1) You can't, but that's a good idea to create a conf file or something so that it launches on restart with the same settings it shut down with.
2) It only works for the time being on pools that don't require membership, just using your address as your username on the pool. So, it will work with p2pools when they get up and running on yescrypt, and if you know of any other yescrypt pools that don't require registration it should work there too. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible, and avoid asking users to have to register on a pool website.

Thanks for the feedback, I definitely think point (1) is something that I will add to a future release.

I have Windows unfortunately...
I have no problems with buying a Vps on your behalf assumin you have Linux or Ubuntu.

VPS comes with Linux. And Linux is free anyways, but a VPS is a virtual private server, typically with Linux installed (you can get with Windows, but why). There was a guy selling $200 AWS credits for $4 in btc in the digital goods section yesterday. That would run it for a year. Then just give me ssh key for your server and we can both access it with putty or whatever.

Reading these comments makes me want to stay far away from BXC. Why are they banning IPs from mining Huh
The 106% is it really just 6% though isn't it ? it is not double + 6% hey ? Like how those HYIP programs advertise. THat is why I ask.

Pretty sure it's just 6%, still haven't downloaded GUI and tried it yet tho, and your IP can get temporarily banned from a mining pool if you're submitting garbage (like using wrong algo to mine or something).

Edit: maybe it is 106%.

Can just confirm that this is ok with you?
I don t have Linux..

You don't need Linux, but VPS should be Linux, Ubuntu 14.04 or 16.04 i guess.

Greg Maxwell calls Monero a "low value toy grade system":

[20:29:37] <thangnduit> I'm trying to build bitcoin-core from source that i got from github. Please give me some guide (_). Build on window!!!!

[20:31:29] <thangnduit> @jwinterm: tks so much sir ^
[20:31:52] <gmaxwell> jwinterm: in a VM on windows.
[20:31:55] <thangnduit> I don't have more exp on linux or ubuntu
[20:32:30] <gmaxwell> which is really the only prudent way to do it, any other way will result in a build config that is totally untested-- people with no linux expirence can usually follow the gitian instructions.
[20:33:30] <jwinterm> msys2 and cmake work ok for monero
[20:34:07] <gmaxwell> jwinterm: doesn't mean the resulting system is actually consensus consistent.
[20:34:39] <gmaxwell> you can get away with a lot with a low value toy grade system.
[20:34:56] <jwinterm> supongo, seems to work fine for me

This is the problem though.
I have no experience or knowledge of coding but I don't have any other offers from any other coders.
Can you help me out in anyway?
Running a VPS together would be a good idea.
Also, would we need a coder working on the project regularly to ensure there are no bugs?

If you get a VPS I'll help you set it up. There's really no coding involved, just some Linux command line stuff. I think any major bugs would have been identified by now since the bot has been running as monero's tipbot for over a year now.
1796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DigitalNote XDN privacy, untraceable, blockchain deposits, Messages 2.0 on: August 23, 2016, 08:36:38 PM
That's good, he mentioned that some trusted party would need to run a VPS.
But what exactly are we paying for to require ~$150 to implement changes to code.
You have more experience to me, what needs to be done that requires this kind of money?

Afaik nothing needs to be done to code, so if you're already paying to host the server it's not worth it in my opinion. Tippero is open source on GitHub. You just need VPS, build and sync daemon, install tippero (which is kind of a pain the butt), install redis database, and run the bot.
1797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DigitalNote XDN privacy, untraceable, blockchain deposits, Messages 2.0 on: August 23, 2016, 07:40:40 PM
I think it should be self-sustaining since users pay their own transaction fees and sign up through reddit.
I've asked exactly what his plans are, maybe I should ask your question...

0.25 btc sounds like an awful lot.

0.25 BTC isn't much for a VPS or dedicated server especially. It would cover probably a year of costs on a decent VPS. You can buy credits for AWS on the digital goods section of this board, and get a year or so worth of time on Amazon VPS for $5-10. If you get a server, I'll probably help you get the bot up and running.

I'm currently in the process of agreeing a deal which would give us a tipbot on reddit.
He is offering a quote of 0..25 btc.
Do you think it is practical to crowdfund this?

Sadly even though the volume of XDN has doubled, the price actually has changed!

How long does he promise to keep it running for that much?

does anybody know the reason for this unexpected high trading volume on polo?
are there any news that i missed?

I'd guess just riding the coat tails of Monero uber pump. Aeon is up quite a bit too.
