Signing a message from multisig address is possible ? I didn't notice that it was a multisig address at first, thanks for the heads up. I'm not sure if it's possible to sign from the multisig address, but it would be possible for him to sign from one of the private keys associated with the multisig address. That would work too, since the address has been staked for a few months. @doublemore if you're able to sign from your staked address, that would work as well. Instead of contributing to this campaign why not you contribute to this forum by reporting those threads to mods with some solid proof.
DarkStar_ is welcome to contribute to this thread, especially if he's actively answering questions that people have. We have incidents of threads got locked when they got over spammed.
If you are not able to convince mods to lock those threads by showing proof, it is not a good practice to call a thread as garbage and to suggest here. (it indirectly doubts the responsibility of mods of corresponding section)
I think the problem is that there's so much spam on these forums that the mods can't keep everything clean. A moderator doesn't moderate a single board, especially a moderator like hilariousandco. He's managing moderation for dozens of boards with tens of thousands of posts which isn't an easy task. However, I think most people can agree that the examples of "spam threads" brought up by myself and DarkStar_ are prime examples of garbage threads. With thousands of posts in some of those threads, I think the OP's question would have been answered long ago. At this point, people are just using these threads to increase their post counts and receive their signature campaign payments. If you take a look at some of the recent posts in those threads and the people who are posting, you'll notice that it's very rare to see someone posting without running a signature ad. I've gone through some pages where 19 out of 20 posts are from users wearing a paid signature, which is higher than most constructive topics on these forums. @guitarplinker
I believe it is not a common practice to have off-threads similar to off-sections for a signature campaign.
It's fairly common practice for most campaigns, or at least it has been in the past. Quite a few campaigns (this campaign included) don't count posts from certain topics such as Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns, as well as threads for other signature or avatar campaigns. @guitarplinker
I respect your decision of campaign participants not to spam in those threads. But it shows some selfishness if you (or we) are not taking any steps to prevent others too not to spam there.
As for this being a selfish decision, I don't really understand your point. I'm doing my part to prevent participants of the Rollin.io signature campaign from spamming the forums, but I can't do anything for any other users, aside from saying "please don't spam the forums by posting something that's been stated over a dozen times in a topic already", reporting them to their signature campaign and reporting their post to a moderator. I don't get paid enough (actually I get paid nothing) to report posts and users all day long, and I don't have time to waste on something like that, especially when it requires a person of power to help put an end to spam like this (ex. a signature campaign manager or forum staff). Without them being on board, one person going around reporting posts and users all day long will do absolutely nothing. |
