1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much BTC have you gambled? (anonymous on: March 17, 2015, 10:04:14 PM
That is not right my man, against a 1% house edge you always will end up losing. Buying bitcoin 1 month ago and holding would have made you at least $60 a coin not a loss.
With the bitcoin prices up and down +-$10 USD daily, right now looks like a prime time for some bitcoin arbitrage trading. If you know how to play the markets I'm sure you'd be able to make more than just holding bitcoins by doing some arb trading.

But I haven't bet much, just a few bitcents on Rollin in the past couple weeks. I'm not much of a gambler.

I'd like to be reviewed for the campaign, please.

Thanks.
Accepted. Let me know when you change signatures and I'll add you to the list of participants.

I think you should consider the re-registering. You would be able to hold all the good writers in your campaign and wont lose them because they were too late. You could consistently better the quality of the posts this way instead randomly getting new people inside. I think that would lead to a better quality campaign. Thats a point i dont like with this campaign since it brings in insecurity. You wouldnt know if you wouldnt need to find a new campaign after the timeframe is over. You only would need a bit too slow and you would need to remember this all the time. I think many good writers dont like to bother with things like that. They only want to write and when they could get paid by the way then its a bonus.

Only my thoughts... Smiley
Fair points, and I appreciate your feedback, but I think the current rules are fair for participants as is. I post here when I send a payment out, and users can always look at the spreadsheet to see when their payments are due. (I consistently send payments out at exactly midnight the day they're due, Bitcointalk time, which is GMT time) If they know they'll be gone that day, they can let me know a day or two in advance via PM and I'll register them for another month.

However, if for some reason they aren't able to let me know within 24 hours after payment being sent, or before the payment is sent, chances are their slot won't have been filled if they re-register two or three days after their payment has been sent.

Most monthly campaigns seem to follow similar rules to this, as well as past monthly campaigns too, and it seems to have worked out fairly well for those campaigns.
1043  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Privatoria Anonymous E-mail provider on: March 17, 2015, 01:23:02 PM
Nice site, signed up, but one thing i didn't like it can't use these for passwords " ;'\[]/.,{}|/*"

i like my passwords more complicated than just alphanumeric
This is one of my complaints too. I don't like that we can't use those characters, and that passwords are limited to 50 characters. Many of my passwords are 60+ characters, and have symbols in them.

I use KeePass for all my passwords, so I tend to copy-paste them in as well. Privatoria don't seem to allow pasting into the password box, at least on signup. Those three points are the main things I'd like changed on the site.
1044  Economy / Services / Re: [6 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.14 BTC Per Month! on: March 17, 2015, 01:18:16 PM
What if, for example, I can't be online during the 24 hours after payment, but I tell you the day before payment that I'll continue with the campaign?

Just a thought.

Anyway, this campaign looks good. I might join in April when more slots for Members open up. Smiley
In that case, I suppose it wouldn't be a major issue to let me know earlier. However, if for some reason a user isn't able to let me know that they want to re-register, chances are that their slot will still be open anyway when they return a few days later. The campaign hasn't been filling as quickly as last month.
1045  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Remote web access to a miner on: March 17, 2015, 01:08:45 PM
I use Team Viewer and it works great. You need to leave your computer on while away and if your afraid of power outages then use a laptop so the battery will give a couple hours of backup for short outages. But I used to even reboot my computers with Team Viewer and it worked great.

TeamViewer is a great product for this.  With it even if your IP changes your login can get to your house computer.   Once logging in it would be like you are home and can access your miners on the network.
If you decide to go the TeamViewer route I'd set a strong password to connect though. I've heard of people using the default 4-5 character password who've had their machines hacked into and coins stolen, if they keep crypto-coins on their PC unencrypted. I'd personally go the VPN route, for me it would be easier to manage my machines on my phone through the internet browser than through a TeamViewer app.
1046  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: My power cost for mining...??? on: March 17, 2015, 01:06:30 PM
Keep in mind if you're running those miners with a PC as a host, the PC alone probably takes more power than the miners. If you're looking to run them a little more efficiently you could try buying a Raspberry Pi and putting MinePeon on it, that would take less than 3 watts. They sell for pretty cheap too, I just saw someone sell 3 RPi's today in the marketplace for $20 each shipped.

I was going to post in the main thread that I saw Jason had been online today, didn't realize he had come online just to lock the main discussion thread though. Hope the police are still taking a look at this case though, it might be worth a phone call to see what's going on.
1048  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: March 15, 2015, 04:22:11 PM
I have updated everything in the OP (including the changes from Bit-x).

guitarplinker you aren't escrowing the Rollin.io campaign though. You are the one paying the campaign and the one holding the funds. This is a conflict of interest and if you run off, people can't be sure if they will get paid by Rollin.io. Escrow is done by someone who has nothing to do with your signature campaign and the website itself (like devthedev did before). I hope you can understand this.

Thank you for telling me about the changes in your campaign!
Thanks for the update. The escrow part makes sense to me, no worries with that. I'll be sure to let you know if things change in this campaign in the future.
1049  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: March 15, 2015, 03:39:09 PM
Mitchełł, when you get a moment could you update the Rollin.io signature campaign information?

The following information has changed:

  • The Rollin.io campaign is currently active, and has slots open for new participants
  • More slots have opened. There are now 8 slots for H/L/Stf, 5 slots for Sr Members, 4 slots for Full Members, and 5 slots for Members
  • The funds for the campaign are in escrow, being held by me. See this post.

Can I take the Full Member slot if it's still available?
Accepted. Spreadsheet has been updated.

Can you explain this new rule little bit more, please?
So, when our 30 days (1 month) finish, can we, as before, just send you pm with confirmation that we want to continue with this sig. campaign or we have to post here?
What if we are without Internet for example and can't send you message or post right away?
I think that old members in this campaign should have at least 24 or 36 hours time to confirm their participation in this campaign (as before).
Can you clarify this new rule for us, please?
In any case, I hope that old members in this campaign will have always priority compared to new members (based on their previous support and work).

Once your month is up, and you've received your payout you can either send me a PM, or post here saying you'd like to continue the campaign. Your slot will be reserved for 24 hours after your payment has been sent. If I don't hear from you within 24 hours, or see that you've removed the Rollin signature, then you will be removed from your slot to make room for new members. (Note: the 24 hour reservation rule was just added)

If you post in this thread wanting to re-register 48 hours after your payment has been sent for example, you may or may not be accepted, depending on slot availability for your membergroup. If your membergroup is full, I will have to deny you. However if there are open slots, then you'll probably be accepted.

This rule will give previous users a slight advantage over new users in this campaign, but if they don't re-register within 24 hours, then their spot will open up to other users. I think that should be fair for everybody.
1051  Economy / Services / Re: Signature Space for sale for lifetime (1263 post) Sr. Member on: March 14, 2015, 05:28:12 PM
So your account is banned forever and you are selling signature space on this account? It is too stupid to be true. First of all it is ban evasion. So you will probably be banned forever on all your account. There is no way someone will pay you for 'service' like that.
The account does have almost 1.3k posts though. If they were in popular threads then I'd think a few people would see them. But yes, chances are this new account will be banned too for ban evasion.
1052  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: March 14, 2015, 03:53:44 PM
Those threads seem to have disappeared really quickly.  Roll Eyes Can't access them anymore. Was anybody able to save the thread on archive.org before it was taken down?

I like to join this campaign.

Accepted. I see that in the past you've had a few posts that wouldn't be counted by this campaign (not constructive) so try to keep that in mind. Only constructive posts will be counted towards your 50 posts per month in this campaign.

Can I take a Member place?

Thanks.
Accepted as well. Spreadsheet will be updated shortly.

Also, I've taken a look at the rules and revised them slightly. The main change to the rules is that all users are now removed from the campaign after they've received their monthly payment. It is then their responsibility to sign up again for another month. If they don't do so, then they won't be registered for another month of this campaign.

Finally, here is signed proof that I'm in control of the funds for this signature campaign.

If you're interested in seeing a video on what the hack actually looked like, here's a link. Hopefully the new forum software will be released soon (although we've been saying that for a few months now) and then we'll have the ability to change avatars.

Guitarplinker,

I really loved this campaign, but I don't think I will be online that often this month.
I don't want to block a spot and would like to resign from this campaign.
Thanks again!
Thank you for the heads up, I removed you from the spreadsheet. Thanks for your participation!
1056  Economy / Services / Re: [7 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.14 BTC Per Month! on: March 13, 2015, 03:37:52 PM
Just a suggestion but it might be better to open slots up for everyone again after each month. That way it would avoid this problem, is fair to everyone and newcommers can get a slot, and also existing members who aren't interested in signing up again don't hog up a slot.
Good suggestion. I think I'll take a look at the rules this weekend because right now it seems that there are a few issues with them.
1057  Economy / Services / Re: [7 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.14 BTC Per Month! on: March 13, 2015, 02:05:16 PM
Cant you remove one of the higher Staff/Legendary/Hero places seeing as there's six free? If not if a senior (or couple of Members) accounts that are enrolled don't make the minimum could I have the senior payout then?
I'm not in control of how many different slots there are, Rollin.io controls that. I'll send Kiran from Rollin a PM in a moment though, and see if we can work something out for you. I'll let you know how things work out in the next 12 hours or so when I hear back from Rollin.
1058  Economy / Services / Re: [7 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.14 BTC Per Month! on: March 13, 2015, 01:46:51 PM
Similar situation for me but I went from Full to Senior.
Unfortunately all of our Senior slots are currently full. So now there are a couple of options:

-I can leave you down as a full member, and you'll be paid the full member amount
or
-If you wish, you can leave this campaign

Please let me know which option you'd prefer to take and I'll update the spreadsheet accordingly.

Hi. I finished last month as a Full Member but I'm still down as a Member. Can you update me? Thanks.
Spreadsheet updated!
1060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help needed - txn not get confirmed - on: March 12, 2015, 10:29:36 PM
It may not get confirmed because it has no fee. I've had transactions go through with no fees, but other transactions fail to go through when I didn't attach a fee. If it doesn't confirm in 24-36 hours, chances are it won't confirm and will be removed from the unconfirmed queue.

Has this ever happened to you with a transaction shown as "Medium Priority" at blockchain (not "Low Priority")?
Yes, if I remember right that's what happened to me a long time ago. I don't remember the specifics, because it was over a year ago but I remember the transaction didn't go through because I had the fee set at 0 satoshies.
