My pay date is 29/05, right?
Yes it is. Not sure why I forgot to put that into the spreadsheet. It will be added shortly.
902  Economy / Services / Re: [5 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.16 BTC Per Month! on: April 30, 2015, 10:33:50 PM
guitarplinker, I would like to join this campaign in May (I will be a member in 2 weeks).

I thought I'd reach out now as there is only 1 member slot open Smiley

Feel free to review my post history and let me know.

Thank you sir.
Sorry, but we don't reserve slots in this campaign. When you become a Member, apply here if there is still a slot open and I'll review your posts then.
903  Economy / Services / Re: [5 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.16 BTC Per Month! on: April 30, 2015, 09:50:45 PM
The pay rate for Hero/Legendary/Staff members has been increased from 0.14 BTC per month to 0.16 BTC per month! Also, this won't affect only participants registered after the posting of this message, it will affect all current participants as well. So if you're currently in one of these slots, you will be paid 0.16 BTC at the end of your month, as long as you make 50 or more constructive posts. I know that the rules for this campaign state that "We have the right to change the payout amounts at the beginning of each new period, due the volatile price of Bitcoin." but I don't think anyone will be upset about this.  Wink

I've also talked to Rollin about funding this campaign for May payments, and they have told me that they will be sending me enough to cover another month of this campaign sometime tomorrow.

Sorry for bumping this thread but I want to ask a question. If a member posts in the same thread using his alt accounts (with a similar response) and he is wearing a signature. Is this considered spamming?

Eg: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1041138.msg11237976#msg11237976

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1041138.msg11239220#msg11239220

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=839065.msg11238224#msg11238224

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=839065.msg11239535#msg11239535

The users appear to be alts.
I think that would be considered spam. I haven't seen this kind of thing before though, or at least not as obvious as this guy. Three accounts, all with similar activity, all with the same signature, and they post one after another. Going through some of the posts on those accounts, they don't seem very constructive either.

Denied. I reviewed your posts, and see very few that would be considered constructive for this campaign.

Also, if users don't reach their 50 posts per month, they do get paid for the posts they make, and then are removed from this campaign, and barred from entering for one month afterwards.

Can I join this ?

In past month i didn't active on any signature campaign so i only post in my local board. I'll post more in various board if i join signature campaign, thanks
Unfortunately I'm going to have to deny your application. I don't want users to change their posting style and force posts in different areas because they've joined a signature campaign. It sounds like if you were accepted into this campaign, you'd be forced to post in sections you don't usually post in, which often leads to spammy and non-constructive posts. Also, from what I can see, quite a few of the posts you've made in English don't seem to be very constructive to the topics at hand.

910  Economy / Services / Re: [9 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.14 BTC Per Month! on: April 30, 2015, 12:18:31 AM
Posts made in the Off-topic, Games and rounds and Investor-based games sections will NOT be counted towards a user's 50 posts per month. (Rule added April 24th, 2015)

Different colours may be advisable. The sections which are not allowed is not visible at first glance.  Smiley

Since the H/L/Stf slots aren't filling very quickly....

4 more Hero/Legendary/Staff slots have been added to this campaign...

You may considering revising the payout for hero members. The difference between hero and senior members is not much. Campaigns launched in the last couple of months offer a higher pay for hero members.
Thanks for the heads up about the color issue in the rules, it has been fixed.

I was actually just thinking about asking Rollin about increasing the Hero/Legendary/Staff rates today since the slots aren't filling quickly. Rollin manages the number of users and payrates in this campaign, and I manage the rest. I'll have to talk to them about pay rates for H/L/Stf members. Thanks for bringing up this point too!
911  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: April 29, 2015, 10:01:44 PM
Mitchełł, when you get a moment could you please update the Rollin campaign info with the following information?

-Status of the campaign should be "Currently active"
-There are now 10 Hero/Legendary/Staff slots
-There are now 10 Senior slots

Thanks!
912  Economy / Services / Re: [9 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.14 BTC Per Month! on: April 29, 2015, 09:54:04 PM
4 more Hero/Legendary/Staff slots have been added to this campaign, as well as four more Senior slots! If you're interested in joining this campaign, don't hesitate to apply! We currently have nine slots open.

Also, I haven't received bitcoins from Rollin for May payments. I suspect that I will receive bitcoins for May in the next few days, but currently, I only have enough funds to process payments up to and including May 9th.

EDIT: Rollin has said that they will send me more funds for this campaign by Friday.

Just a heads up to everyone that the bitcoins currently in escrow
will be moving to a new address in a few moments. They will be
 moving from "1BqyH8QweJbrFjaLYAt5fRSxagAHQBayK7" to
"1PtfMh9WpABj8EBoZPixBKKdAjQrb7CaRq". This move of the
coins won't affect the security of them, and will only make it easier
for me to send payments through. So if you see the remaining
coins in that address move to a brand new address, don't panic,
it's a planned move. I've signed this message with my PGP key
to prove my identity. Message signed on April 28th, 2015. Please

Can I still post to reach my 50 posts or is my time over?
Payments will be sent in ~ 30 minutes or so. So you'd have until then to reach your 50 constructive posts.

Payments for April 29th have just been sent out. TXID: https://blockchain.info/tx/5b548b354db8e4d312012433788251fea1eaf1e1dabab0d551325f8c75a335e6
915  Other / Meta / Re: people "buying" trust without you noticing? on: April 28, 2015, 10:28:59 PM
I don't see why someone shouldn't leave feedback for loans that they complete. If someone borrows 0.01 BTC and pays back 0.015 BTC, make sure you leave that in your feedback. If someone has proven themselves trustworthy with 0.01 BTC, that doesn't mean they are trustworthy with any larger sums.

500 positive feedback from the most trusted members of the forum for 0.01 BTC each, doesn't make that person trustworthy with 5 BTC, maybe with 0.05.

I don't believe in giving positive trust to any member as it's like giving a person a reputation of always being trusted. I had given a person positive trust earlier when I had completed a trade with him successfully and he turned out to scam someone else. The people who he scammed almost blamed me for giving him a feedback just after one trade and that was a lesson learnt by me that I cannot take the responsibility of even a known person being trustworthy. They try to abuse the trust system then.
The exact same thing happened to me as well. I did a trade with someone for PayPal to Bitcoin for a fairly small amount (< $50) and everything went smooth. He asked me to leave some trust so I did. Less than 24 hours later, he ended up scamming someone for $100 or so. The person he scammed was fairly close to leaving me negative trust, as well as one other person who traded with him, just for dealing with this guy. He suspected that I was an alt account of the scammer, as well as the other guy the scammer traded with.

I think a wise decision would to only leave feedback to users who you've traded over x BTC with. Whether it be 0.5 BTC or 3 BTC, I suspect that would cut down on feedback buyers.

Thanks.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to deny your application. You were removed from this campaign on April 10th, because you weren't able to make the minimum of 50 constructive posts per month. One of the rules of this campaign is that if you're unable to reach the 50 constructive posts per month mark, you will be removed from this campaign, and won't be able to rejoin the campaign for another month. You're welcome to apply again to the campaign on May 10th if there is still a Member slot available then.

Also, I didn't have an address on record for you when you were last in the campaign, and wasn't able to send you your payment. Is it alright if I sent the payment due for you to the address you applied to this campaign with?
917  Other / New forum software / Re: PGP Encryption of messages on: April 27, 2015, 01:50:07 AM
Exactly. Personally I think it's unwise to run it on servers they provide. From what I understand they're a
major VPN provider in the UK. I would find it highly suprising if intel orgs do not have some kind of monitoring
access. After all, most VPN users are legit, but some aint, and those are an interesting target for intel orgs.

To add some spice to it, of course both Private Internet Access and any intel org if inquired about it would
deny any knowledge of previous, current or future interception of users communications. I wonder how that
hosting deal came about and what rationale was behind it? Just greed?

After all, the forum would have enough funds for some serious hosting, even on dedicated hardware.
PIA is based out of the US, (this sometimes makes brings up the topic of true anonymity with their VPN service and being US-based) not the UK.

Also, I did some digging on PIA sponsoring Bitcointalk and came up with the following:

That's cool, the forums are ran by PIA? Same service I use and I love the service, really good stuff.

quick correction just for FUD insurance, the forum is ran by theymos, theymos is the only one that has access to the forum's server box. Private Internet Access just donated the box so the forum can be hosted for in exchange for that permanent ad on the bottom.

So I'm not sure if that means theymos is the only one with physical access to the servers hosting Bitcointalk (I'm doubting this though, I suspect they just donated theymos a high-end VPS to run Bitcointalk on) or if it is run through a PIA VPS, and theymos is the only one on this site with the credentials for the VPS.

Also, in the above quote, gweedo mentions that they provide hosting for the website in exchange for having a permanent PIA ad on the website. It must be cost-effective for Private Internet Access to host the site in exchange for running their ads. IIRC, an ad spot sells for ~ 1.5 BTC per month here, which is about $300 USD. I'm fairly confident that hosting wouldn't cost them that much per month, so it's probably a fairly good deal for PIA, as well as Bitcointalk.
918  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Becomes Part Of The GAW / Paycoin Scam on: April 26, 2015, 10:30:36 PM
It's Cryptsy, it really don't surprise me that they would be in on the Paycoin scam. I've heard horror stories about balances disappearing on accounts, the site seemed to be constantly down or had issues, (at least when I used it a year or so ago) and it seems like an overall shady exchange. There are much better places to exchange coins at.

920  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: April 26, 2015, 07:41:49 PM
I think the issue is that Google stopped supporting Java and NPAPI plugins. Java was scheduled to stop working sometime during April. The latest Chrome update must have finally blocked all Java and NPAPI plugins. Google wants developers to use PEPPER plugins instead. Use MyTrezor.com in Firefox or install Electrom 2.0.4. Both are still working with Trezor.

Yeah, until they remove it completely, you can still got to chrome://flags/ and Enable NPAPI.
Thanks! That fixed it in Chrome for me, and it seems to work well now. But as you mentioned, I expect that this option will be removed fairly soon so I should probably migrate to Electrum or something similar for using my Trezor.
