It's funny, reading this thread reminds me of aXXo from P2P community
1802  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble incoming! $3800 - $4000 expected on: June 26, 2014, 01:20:53 PM
no "bubble" will happen this summer. starting in september there will be a rise to 800/900 territory. new ath later this year.

My crystal ball tells me the rise to 800/900ish will already take place in late August. So many crystal balls out there.

That's weird, my Poulp says it's going to happen in september.
Must not be accurate, let's try frogs or cats.

I heard there is one camel in UAE that predicts football match results.
Probably we can fondle his testicles and get him to predict the next 'bitcoin bubble'?
1803  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I've found a block with one AntMiner S1 in 7 days only!!! on: June 26, 2014, 12:18:20 PM
I have 10 Th/s for more than three  months, all S1s , and never found any block.

You're God damn lucky!   Shocked
I agree, he's lucky.

I've been mining 24x7 for 12 months and have never found a block.  I've had a reasonable hash-rate too, currently at 5 TH/s.

He has not found a block mining solo.
He was mining on a pool and so essentially the pool found a block.
1804  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any one heard about www.igot.com on: June 26, 2014, 12:14:39 PM
I just checked https://www.igot.com/orders. 24h volume is 9874 BTC now. I think they are faking it.

They have already stated on the first page of this thread:

2. Trades are general trades from Blockchain, not trades on igot.com
1805  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: June 26, 2014, 12:07:25 PM
I am currently using Google Chrome. I find it better and more comfortable than IE, Firefox and Opera that I tried before.

I used to like Opera when it had its own engine. For some time now it has switched to Chrome's Blink engine and has essentially become a Chrome-clone. I don't like it now.
1806  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst Movies You Have Ever Watched on: June 26, 2014, 06:12:21 AM
I saw this terrible movie not to long ago called Tank Girl. It has Ice-t in it who is some kangroo beast thing with his bros and the movie makes no sense.

I just looked it up on IMDb; and man...  looks like some weird shit! Cheesy
1807  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: $522k in a day on: June 26, 2014, 06:01:57 AM
Your calculations do not take into consideration the fact that devs are making machines that are more efficient.

It also fails to account for the fact that everyone does not pay the same amount for electricity. When enough miners start to take their miners offline the difficulty will start to fall, making it more profitable for others to mine, giving them an incentive to buy additional miners

Still, even taking into consideration all those variables, IT IS CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF ENERGY spent on a calculation of no real value.

How about spending even a fraction of ANY electricity on ANYTHING that serves a real benefit in addition to managing the blockchain?
you are assuming that "managing" (securing would be a more accurate word) the blockchain does not have any value. The blockchain provides a way for a person to securely send BTC (funds) to someone else without having to trust a 3rd party intermediary

No, I'm not assuming anything like that. If you read my next post, you'll see that I've discussed it further.

Quoting it below:

What's wrong with doing it for something that secures blockchain as well as producing some data ALONGSIDE that is helpful to humanity in some other way too?

Wouldn't it be a win-win?

One example of privacy breach: iOS gives you option to control permissions on app-basis, manually. YOU can control what permissions an app uses.
On Android, it is hard-coded. Android will show you what permissions an app uses and you can decide whether to install the app or not. But you can't control the permission set. Custom ROMs like Carbon ROM (https://carbonrom.org/) gives you this ability.
Oh okay, I see what you mean,
Cyanogenmod 11 has that as well. It's called Privacy Guard: http://hub.cm/blog/cm-feature-highlight-privacy-guard

I always wanted to switch to Cyanogenmod, but the stable build for my device has been stuck on 9.1, the ICS fork

i logged in to igot .com after several days and i see 9807 rs instead of my 9999 rs balance  Huh

Are you sure it is your fiat balance and not INR-equivalent BTC balance?
yes its fiat balance only which i deposited thru neft

i think they adjusting usd inr equivalent in balance which dont make sense because i made deposit in INR for INR currency

Well, that's strange.

1811  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best place to withdraw BTC? on: June 25, 2014, 09:05:36 AM
BitStamp and Kraken are great options. Google for them.
1812  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any one heard about www.igot.com on: June 25, 2014, 05:39:47 AM
To spread the word- I'm really happy with IGOT Grin. After waiting for 7 days for Level 2, withdrawing good chunks of BTC to the BTC wallet took only about an hour or two.

You're helping me building my confidence in iGot, but just as a precaution I'd like to trust a fairly new account only after seeing some evidence.

I'm not questioning your experience or ethics, but a screenshot of your iGot account history or your wallet would be nice and comforting for other people.
Here you go Grin

Thanks for sharing your experience. Really appreciate that.
Looks like this is the most easy and reliable exchange for Indian users. Can't say the same for users from other countries though.

1814  Other / Off-topic / Re: Pizza! on: June 21, 2014, 09:49:31 PM
My god, this thread is making me so hungry now. I want to eat pizza so bad... but I don't have money for one... If you are hungry any pizza will be the best, just telling you.

You can order one for 10,000 BTC

He isn't selling pizza, he is buying pizza.
But feel free to read OP Wink

If you read carefully, you'll notice that I'm actually offering him to BUY pizza and not SELL them.

And if you read my previous posts in this thread, you'll also find that I'm fully aware of the OP.

 Roll Eyes

"Order pizza via this link" But link leads to thread someone is buying pizza.
And can you link that" your previous post? Only one I can find is that picture of  girl with pizza, and that you like veg.
I was pointing the first line of OP Wink

Well..  the purpose of the linked thread was to provide a reference to how laszlo BOUGHT some pizza using Bitcoin and someone can do it the same way.

In Chrome each website is different process. What is wrong with that? If one website crashes others are fine. Good trade imo.
The problem of Chrome isn't a resource one but a security one.

Correct.

See how they just want you to sign in right when you launch the browser?
They want all your browsing habits to sell it to advertisers.

another reason why we should switch to firefox.

all free Google services come at the cost of your privacy. Android is another example.

why android? just change to a custom rom

That's correct, but it is out of most people's grasp. Only tech-savvy poeple can go for it.

If you put it this way, I supose it could be done (I think PrimeCoin is something similar to this, but I could be wrong). The part with "no real benefit" made you look like an ignorantt, but again, I may be pulling it from the context.

Yep, we got off the wrong foot, but I'm happy we're getting somewhere.

I'm not too sure about PrimeCoin, but I believe DataCoin (http://datacoin.info/) stores valuable data in the blockchain alongside transactions.
