901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: "I love Tittiecoin" giveaway | Win 250,000 TTC on: February 17, 2015, 07:29:52 AM
How much 250,000 TTC worth in bitcoins?

At current price it is about 0.01 BTC.

Holding real picture of ourselves saying 'I Love TittieCoin'? And that will be posted on Facebook?
That is too much for 0.01 BTC.

And even that reward isn't guaranteed. "Very original/funny ones will be given 250,000 TTC"
So you may get nothing.

1) Do you know any non plain faucets? Like some faucets that have a cool way to earn BTC
[...]

Here's one 'non-plain' faucet I've come across:
http://www.coinlearn.org/

It provides basic learning to Bitcoin beginners and gives them free BTC during the process.

I looked over it and it has a 48 minute wait before you can actually redeem the BTC. Do you have any other websites?

This is a little different, but I don't know we can call it a faucet:
http://bitcoinciphers.com/index.php

You have to solve the cipher and it rewards you in Bitcoins.

904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why is not recommended to use the same address twice? And is there solution? on: February 17, 2015, 07:09:48 AM
Yes i do want a bank, but a bitcoin bank. I mean what is the point of bitcoin if not that, to hold funds for people. The people need an alternative to the banking system, and bitcoin can easily deliver that, but only if these security problems get fixed properly.

It is not a 'security' issue as you've been mentioning. It is more of a 'privacy' issue.

Nobody is going to steal your Bitcoins if you use same address multiple times. It's just that people will be able to see all incoming and outgoing transactions to specific address, knowing the whole history of a particular address.

And if you're concerned about this 'privacy' issue, you should take measures to not link your real identity with an address - as simple as that.

906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT ALTCOIN EXCHANGE IS BEST TO USE? on: February 17, 2015, 06:56:54 AM
I have been using around 5 to 6 altcoin exchanges.
My favorites are BitTrex, Cryptsy and HitBTC - in that order.

I have also used AllCrypt, Poloniex and a couple others, but my choice stays as stated above.
907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digibyte over ripple & doge? on: February 17, 2015, 06:51:03 AM
A good time to buy more now.   Smiley

Not a good time to buy.

A pump has just been over and the price is on decline. A good time to buy was 3 weeks ago. Now you should wait until the price correction gets over and it reaches to 25 satoshi again.

lol...   didn't know about this!

I passed my 1337 post count way back, but never noticed we had something like this in place.
Looks good though.

so this status will removed after your post count change or it will stay there forever

It goes away when you make more posts.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why is not recommended to use the same address twice? And is there solution? on: February 17, 2015, 06:42:31 AM
Why it's not recommended to use the same address twice? I know its a security issue, but its very inconvenient to use a new address for every transaction, and pretty unpractical.

For example if you already set up an address as a "passive income" one, be that from comissions from selling something, or whatever. And bitcoin gets deposited regularly there, its very stupid to use a new address for every transaction and its unpractical.

I think this issue needs to be fixed ASAP, or people will not have confidence in it, because its just BS if people cant use the same address twice, as we are all used to "bank accounts" just like "btc addresses" where we can see our funds grow.

See here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=946756.0

In short, there is nothing wrong that needs to be fixed.
It is fine to use an address multiple times and that's what people usually do.

The main reason for not using the same address again is privacy. But if it is not a major concern for you, you can keep using same address with no problem at all.
910  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1.5x IF BTC PRICE CROSSES $265 IN 6 DAYS. [REOPENS IN 12 HOURS] on: February 17, 2015, 05:05:08 AM
Closed for 12 hours till I get back later and adjust odds etc.

Price already touched $265 in BitStamp several hours ago, so you have closed the betting  Grin
911  Local / India / Re: India's Best Bitcoin Exchange goes Live with Deposits & Withdrawals! on: February 16, 2015, 05:40:26 PM
I am going to own up to this weird order of all 9's. I had put it in place to see whats the max limit. However, i found out that the max order is 1 followed by 10 zeros. equivalent to 10,000,000,000.

But putting 10,000,000,001 as the sale limit brings up this image

<img>

which claims that the max rate is 1 followed by 12 zeros.

Can you have it checked please. I think it is putting a decimal there for some reason.

Haha.. nice. The reason for putting up that order is better than I had assumed. Cheesy

So I can rest assured that Indian Bitcoiner community is not full of people who want to become Billionairs by selling 1 Bitcoin, LOL!

Hey, I can test this now. From where I should download the installer that runs without admin rights?
I downloaded from official site but it doesn't look new.

http://www.neoscoin.com/windows should be the same one from the site.  If you run it, you'll see a different installation path now.

     Best regards,

I have 100 computers with good specs and internet 24x7 online at my disposal.I know mining wouldn't be possible. What is the other best way to monitize may be computational power or storage rental like storj.Kindly suggest.

Are you an IT supervisor or trainer in a computer lab of some company or university? That would be my guess.

And I envy you. If I had that many computing power at my hands, I would simply point them to CPU-mineable coins at night and convert all those shitcoins to BTC. I'm sure with 100 decent CPUs you can earn fair amount of BTC everyday. (electricity or maintenance costs aren't your headache, right?)
916  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 1 transaction block how its possible? on: February 16, 2015, 11:15:28 AM

Miners can choose what transactions they want to include. If they don't want to include any transactions other than the one that pays them their 25 BTC, then that's their choice.

Haha what an effective and good answer! Good job.

PS. Why don't we have a tip bot for comments on this forum?

There is no tip bot, but I guess the Bitcoin address of the users are listed on their profile page, so we can tip anyway.

It takes a bit longer than tipbot, but if you really want to tip, that works.
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Clams on: February 16, 2015, 11:08:34 AM
hi, i have mined other cryptos but i am unclear how i can go about obtaining CLAMS i see people with them but i cant find anything on the web about mining them. i have gotten a few from bitcoin addresses but unsure how i can mine them any help would be appreciated!
thanks in advance Grin

CLAMS were freely distributed to a lot of BTC, LTC & DOGE addresses.
If you have owned any of the coins in past, chances are you have also received free CLAMS.

http://www.khashier.com/static/posterclams.jpg

All you have to do is import your private keys from BTC, LTC & DOGE to the CLAM wallet.
is it safe ? (doesn't sound like it is safe)
Grin now we know what happened to the bter cold wallet  Grin

The wallet is open source, so anyone can examine the code publicly. No issues there.

To be double safe, you can empty the addresses (transfer the coins to a fresh wallet) and then import the old keys to CLAM wallet.
Nothing to lose from an empty wallet, right?
