Selfishness, Greed, Corruption... is the makeup of the landscape. From the top tier to the bottom feeders in every corner of our society these things are rampant!

There is probably more honor and integrity in the common thief of today then say a doctor who has been handing out Oxycontin like candy and profiting insanely at the price of his patients or a police officer who uses his stature as an expert witness to paint a favorable scenario in an officer related shooting!

How about the judges working with private for profit prisons that keep the jails packed so their cronies can be profiting from their incarceration!! I was reading about the FCC chairman who approved the Comcast buyout of KRON! He gave the green light and then quit his job at the FCC to go work for comcast!!
How about the head of the CDC ! The flipping center for disease control.. So important to all of us.. but there too!!

I always find it ironic when people complain about corruption by governments in the Middle East or in Africa, yet the UK and US governments are the most corrupt of all, they just get away with it easier because the public are blindly ignorant of what is happening.

And I always find it shocking how Doctors will just throw medicines at you like they're sweets. I always question their knowledge of what they're trying to give me and they can never tell me any in depth info on them what-so-ever. A good percentage of meds are just placebo bullshit any way. Just because somebody has a doctorate it doesn't mean they know what the fuck they're talking about.

18302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: too many alternative coins on: December 29, 2013, 02:29:07 PM
Hey, i would like to know what´s your opinion on all the alternative currencies, do they really have a future? I really can´t look at this alt coins seriously... Hamstercoins, Catcoins...

Is there any possibility that a coin like catcoin or dogecoin is able to withstand?

There will always be new coins as people just try to profit or get rich quick off them and then move on. The only alts that will survive as currencies are those that can get some merchant adoption behind them, which very few have managed so far.

What do you think about Tagcoins? The dev team seem to be trying hard to integrate it with local (Philippines) merchants.

Not sure, I'll have to check them out, but any Coin that is actively trying to get merchant adoption is already way ahead of the rest IMO.
18303  Other / Meta / Possible spambots "hey, i am fresh here" on: December 29, 2013, 02:27:08 PM
I don't know whether these are just users copying and pasting stuff or spam bots, but I've seen a few users posting almost exclusively the same "hey, i am fresh here" over and over or copying and pasting the entire page as a comment. Here's a few;

I know I'm not
the mods or Theymos
but according to the numerous statements I read about the trust system, there's no reason this would be breaking any rule

You would have to be directly put in the DefaultTrust list by theymos himself to be at depth=1 though
Otherwise you'd be at depth>=2, so your own trusted users would be at depth>=3 in the DefaultTrust list, so people with original settings (DefaultTrust and depth<=2) wouldn't trust those

Out of interest how do you get put in the default trust list? Do you have to do a trade directly with Theymos or just appear to be trustworthy by doing other successful trades etc?
18305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin conspiracy theories on: December 29, 2013, 02:06:37 PM
I heard that Max Keiser might actually be Satoshi Nakamoto!

Cheesy

Probably started by Alex Jones.

I actually saw an interview with Alex Jones and Max Kaiser where he accused Max of being Satoshi Nakamoto and making Bitcoin to get back at people for something or other that happened to him back in the day, I lol'd Cheesy

Haha, yeah saw that too. I like watching Alex Jones' youtube vids cos I find him entertaining, but obviously he about 95% full of shit.
18306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Predict the Date: When will Amazon accept Bitcoin ? on: December 29, 2013, 02:02:35 PM
More likely that Amazon will come out with its own currency.

They can try, but I don't see why people would adopt it.

Reason #1

Because it's fricking Amazon.

So people will buy into amazon's currency so they can spend it on Amazon? Might as well just vouchers. And any company can create their own money, but it wont be cryptocurrency.

If they did would it be 100% pre-mined?
18307  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fatal error in ‘wedding party’ drone strike prompts UN condemnation on: December 29, 2013, 01:56:29 PM
I don't understand how the US government can continue committing war crimes with impunity. It seems it's one rule for the west and and another for the east.

Has the US ever cared about international law except when it applies to its own interests?

No, but hopefully other countries care or the United Nations should, but we all know that's a joke too.

18310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin conspiracy theories on: December 29, 2013, 01:41:40 PM
Sorry if this destroys your world view OP, but there is no "backdoor" in SHA256, its a public known and tested algorithm.  One might be able to put a backdoor into an implementation or application based on it, or in a random number generator seeding the algorithm, but the algo itself is sound.  Also, China isn't going to become gold backed, their currency and entire economy is export driven and backed by sales of goods to the west, so they wind up owning lots of our currency (and assets).

OH... REALLY :-)...

http://www.vdschagt.com/bitcoin-surprisingly-dodges-cryptographic-bullet/

Even thought its not connected to bitcoin directly, (it doesnr affect him), its nice to see that all your crypto encryption fate isnt that strong (or rather correct)...

EDIT: Alex Jones is probably a CIA asset or in other words "fake" (and also has a nice business ripping people of), if you didnt realize it yet, you are doomed.

I haven't seen any evidence supporting that he's a CIA asset, but he does seem to be making a decnt living off peddling his paranoia products.

Well if you want to talk about it... didnt you notice yet? His behavior etc. Just look on his face, he is a liar really NOT a good actor (he should work on it more), but thats just my impression.

I find many conspiracy theorist's behaviour odd. I don't believe he believes half the bullshit he peddles, but who knows. Maybe he is actually nuts, but he's running a business at the end of the day, so it's in his interests to keep the paranoid paranoid.

18313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to start my own Cryptocurrency casino on: December 29, 2013, 01:32:51 PM
Hi, I am new to this forum, but I had invested in Bitcoin for more than one month, now I have a collection of Quarkcoin, Sexcoin, Fastcoin, plus others. I am thinking of to own an online casino using cryptocurrency such as Litecoin and others, including Bitcoin. Can I just buy a casino somehow, or I have to build one myself? As I do not know much about computer programming, I guess I just have to buy one. Could someone help me? Thank you.

Sometimes people sell them, but you'd be best building one up from scratch yourself to meet your own specifications. I don't think it will be easy or cheap though.
18314  Other / Off-topic / Re: Doge, investments, Cryptocurrency, and the world. on: December 29, 2013, 01:28:21 PM
I know one thing for sure. I'm going long doge. I think this thing is going to skyrocket and I'm going to be there when it does.

I'm also going long BTC, WDC, NMC, and a few others. I think a few too many people are focused on the short game. If doge doesn't gain traction for 6 months, what have I lost? I'm still paying my bills. But if it rises to even $1...

Doge will never be even anywhere close to $1. Look at the marketcap and do the math.

No thats with fiat , I am asking with bitcoins Cheesy

Except for asic miners and etc , like spending bitcoins on non-bitcoin related stuff.

No, really, there is a pub here that accepts bitcoins.

There's a couple of pubs that accept BTC. There's one in Oxford that accepts Feathercoin.
Feathercoin?!  Shocked

What's so  Shocked about that. haha

Yes, there is one pup with feathercoins accepted. But i think this is the only "store" you can buy something with them.

You could use them on cryptosextoys haha, but the owner took them off after a disagreement with one or two Feathercoin members. shame.
18316  Other / Meta / Re: Can I Deal In TRUST RATINGS? on: December 29, 2013, 01:19:26 PM
I personally don't agree with this or the buying and selling of accounts, but I think the trust system is fundamentally flawed here any way. The fact that you're even discussing doing this and how easy it is for people to leave feedback willy-nilly kind of proves it.

I don't really see the point, if someone wants a trust rating all they have to do is make a deal with someone in the default trust network. In that sense all trust ratings are bought and sold. It'd have to be really cheap to be worth it to the other party, a single trust rating is pretty worthless.

I can't imagine doing a deal with somebody in the default trust is that easy, especially for newbs. What reasons have they got to deal with newbs?

And I wouldn't say a single feedback is worthless, but if you're going to buy trust from somebody who's not on the trusted feedback, you might as well just create your own accounts and do it yourself, but sockpuppet feedback if often easy to spot.

18318  Other / Off-topic / Re: Buttcoin GIRL is back! on: December 29, 2013, 01:13:03 PM
Yeah some people have a fetish for that, I think it's gross

Once I visited Pattaya and was surprised at the number of Kathoeys working there. Even more surprising was the size of their European clientele. The Europeans and Arabs were the majority of the clients, not the locals.

Their clientèle are probably 90% European. It's how they make their money. Generally Thais are more respectful of Trans people there.
