Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has a link to a forum thread or knows how one can buy ad space on Bitcointalk.org

Thanks

You could also try offering a sig campaign like PrimeDice etc does. Might even be cheaper than the forum ads. Take a look in the services section.
17482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Feathercoin ? on: January 06, 2014, 06:17:05 PM
FTC is a solid coin and like ohters say it has big potential in the UK. And not like other coins that are not doing anything they are extremely active, not just on the internet but going to talks, meeting groups, evangelizing not just FTC but good cryptos in general. They really believe in the movement and they believe in getting many people to use their crypto and accept it. I think this coin is undervalued IMO, and i'm not a fanboy. When the dust settles with all these alts we'll see who remains, these guys will still be there.

As for investment i'd say they're more a long term investment, however high risk for ROI as any other crypto. I'd say invest in other alts that you feel will be HOT. Pump n dump alts took me from .3 BTC to 10+. Also getting in on new innovative alts good give return as well. ie: protoshares and nxt did it for me (wish i held on NXT would've made tripple).

Yeah, as far as active communities go and merchant adoption, FTC has probably the best of all the alts. The marketplace is a big plus too. I can't see any reason why FTC wont go back to £1-ish this year. If it does I'll have made a nice little profit.

Maybe an option to upload a QR code somewhere would be good. Maybe a clickable link on your profile that enlarges a QR code to scan in.
You can already set a bitcoin address in your profile.

Oh, thanks. Is there any way to make it viewable without putting it in your sig or profile?

You can put it in your 'Personal Text' part where I've got my 'you what, mate?'.

I bet some of them haven't read the listing properly and think they're getting a fully-loaded coin.

Soon to be J. J. Abrams.
17489  Other / Meta / Re: 'Female' spambots on: January 06, 2014, 05:45:47 PM

That, and maybe they'll be used in other ways once they get out of newbie jail. Who knows. Maybe they'll just spam links or PMs after a while.

Could be for them to get into the signature campaigns multiple times?

Or giveaways, but not sure how efficent bots would be at any of this. It'd be easier to do it manually  but maybe more time-consuming.
17490  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: January 06, 2014, 05:40:43 PM
there really needs to be a new good director who dominates in space/sci fi movies.. kind of like the christopher nolan of sci fi space movies.

Like Michael Bay?

Jokes.

17491  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for ways to earn BTC/LTC on: January 06, 2014, 05:40:03 PM
I would like to earn some BTC/LTC the old-fashioned way...by earning it. I've looked at some of the sites where they pay you to do tasks but the payout is miserably low. I've got a lot of knowledge and am also very good at finding things online, researching, etc. I've got a regular full-time job that I enjoy which is installing satellite systems. Not sure how that translates into anything useful here but thought I would put that out there. So, basically, if you've got a task that you can't perform, post here and if I can help, I will give it a shot.

Check out the services section and also participate in one of the signature deals.

17493  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you spend your days doing if you didn't have to work ever again? on: January 06, 2014, 05:22:55 PM
I think most people would travel. What else is there to do?
There's a traditional saying that for the most satisfying and happiest life every person should "plant a tree, build a house, raise a child, and write a book".

Travel is great, and I doubt I will ever grow tired of it, but I think my life would feel rather empty if I did nothing except travel for decade after decade.

I don't know about a house, but I would definitely have the motivation and time to write a book. I could even continue and finish my two current screenplays!

What you working on? I'm writing (or trying to) write a sitcom with my mate and also a sketch show. The sketch show will be eponymous so keep an eye out for it in the future  Grin.

man, i've had some ideas on writing a tv script.. it'd be an adult-themed dark comedy about a self-aware drunken dwarf, who knows he's being stereotyped as a dwarf.. but his bad luck pisses him off, and he just gives in to the stereotype and gets drunk in a dinosaur suit.

Haha tell me more. I love dark/black comedy as my humour is very much so.
17494  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Possible to have an unverified PayPal business account and "cashout" buying BTC? on: January 06, 2014, 05:21:55 PM
Pretty sure Paypal will freeze your account if they find out you're dealing in virtual goods and Bitcoin. Seen it happen so many times.

That really sucks, however the PP account won't be used for BTC trades at all. Purely as an escrow account for people who want to purchase, say gold with PP.

Trust me, PP won't care about that nor will they be understanding of logic. Other people will also be weary of using PP in trades due to the ease of chargebacks.

Few UK on here Smiley good to see. Just need some UK based merchants now...

Snow in UK (excludes Scotland they usually get some):

1. Tiny sheet of snow (1-2 inches)
2. Gets trodden on and mushie-greyed up
3. Refreezes overnight
4. Paths everywhere death traps

Haha pretty much this. I like those times where it blizzards down and stay for a few days though.

And I'm sure we'll see a lot of merchants this year and hopefully our first Bitcoin ATM machine.

he is the self-proclaimed "son of god in the 21st century." you might think he's just trolling, trying to act like some kooky conspiracy theorist.. but must i remind you that there are really some people who think they are jesus reborn?

Oh, has he done something else? I'm not aware of him other than on here.

Moved to off topic?

Shouldn't this have been deleted for begging?

I was wondering this, but seems that the staff want to keep it here.

Sometimes they get deleted sometimes they get moved. Think it depends what mod gets it.
17499  Economy / Economics / Re: If tax calculators are to believed, staying in the UK means getting robbed on: January 06, 2014, 05:11:02 PM
Roll on independence in Scotland.. Fed up of Westminster taxing us.. Bedroom tax is the latest one!!

Saw Cameron on TV with his serious face on the other day urging Scots to vote no on it for the 'sake of Great Britain'. I'm sure they're just going to miss your taxes and don't really care otherwise.

Are you guys kidding?  The SNP is dedicated to higher taxes and they are the Scottish government.

Yes, but then the taxes go to the Scottish people, not Cameron and his Corporate buddies.

That's a nice thought but in reality, the Scots enjoy a generous subsidy as well as disproportionate political representation.  If the Scots leave, England will be financially far better off.

Are you sure? Why are they so bothered about you leaving then? It will effect their interests negatively in some other capacity.

National pride is more important than money.  Ireland got indepedence in 1921 and it was a financial disaster.  There was never a point where anyoen said "Lets go back to being British."  Same with most ex-colonies.

Money is not a big deal if you don't feel free.  As it happens, the Scots seem set to reject independence as they are big fans of the Queen and all that guff.  Sad for me as I live in England and our taxes would fall if Scotland left.  There can never be a Labour government in England again without Scottish votes.

I wish we'd just abolish the monarchy and 'all that guff'. It's pathetic. Why can't we sell off/privatise the Royal Family and let somebody else pay for them instead of all our other nationally owned assets?
