17321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Someone please help? on: January 08, 2014, 07:04:52 PM
Is there any way I can post in regular forums?  I was robbed of coins from a pool I need to pm the owner of the pool.  Thanks.

You'll have to wait the fours hours before you can post in there. Not sure if there's anything that they can do, but if you link me to the thread I can link to here, or alternatively just wait until you're out of newbie jail.
17322  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you spend your days doing if you didn't have to work ever again? on: January 08, 2014, 07:02:57 PM
Renting out properties is not as easy as it sounds. A friend of the family used to rent houses out, but a couple of people completely trashed some of them or continually broke shit so he had to constantly repair stuff. People don't look after shit when it isn't there's and it also takes a hell of a long time before you start seeing any profit on your investment.

Maybe one day I'd like a holiday home and rent it out to friends and family, but only if I was very well off and money wasn't an issue.
17323  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How much external immigration do you want in your country? on: January 08, 2014, 06:57:06 PM
... but restrictions obviously need to be in place.
Advocating something by stating that it you think it is "obvious" does not add value to a discussion. If it really was obvious, there would be no discussion.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that restrictions need to be in place but obviously some people don't see the obvious  Grin.
17324  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post your best jokes here... on: January 08, 2014, 06:53:59 PM
Exactly, some people just want to feel morally superior and it's these trypes of people who are usually the biggest hypocrites. They'll find these jokes funny, but stifle their laughter or come across offended. They're jokes; get over them.
I'm not morally superior. I have flaws, like everyone. But I genuinely didn't find those jokes funny.

You don't have to, but don't judge others because they do. I'm sure there has been something you must've found funny in your life that was un-PC or of a controversial nature.
17325  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lilly's Allen has made the biggest mistake of her life on: January 08, 2014, 06:50:45 PM
I'd guess she's confused it with Linden dollars. Bitcoin barely even existed 5 years ago.

I agree with this, but now Lilly Allen can get bit attention because of this mistaken story, I didnt knew her for example

It wouldn’t surprise me if this as true and she is just riding a bit of free publicity. Is she releasing a new album any time soon?  Grin
17326  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Uruguay legalized Marijuanna, goes into effect April on: January 08, 2014, 06:49:26 PM
Alcohol kills 10,000 times more people than Marijuana. If government can legalize Alcohol, then why not Marijuana?
Alcohol kills ∞ more people than cannabis at the going rate of zero people per year.

I'm sure there's at least some where it was a contributing factor, IE with accidents or maybe some lung/respiratory problems.
17327  Other / Meta / Re: Unreasonable Account Banning, Help Please. on: January 08, 2014, 06:46:55 PM
the question is how do you spot or police these duplicitous accounts?

Theymos should have little issue tracking dupe accounts to IP's, and could perhaps make hashes of user IP address linked to each account and made available to moderators.

Beyond that, I would agree that it's a challenging issue to resolve (VPN or Tor can complicate things), and look forward to whatever solutions (if any) are implemented.

Perhaps something as simple as removing colors and font size changes over a certain point size may help mitigate the spam in .sigs, but not sure that's a reasonable solution either.

He will do, but as it stands at the moment multiple accounts are allowed.

Colours don't bother me; I'd actually prefer to see them as opposed to just standard black or whatever, but I've noticed a few people posting with multicoloured lettering that is a bit of an eyesore, and wouldn't miss that if it went.
17328  Other / Meta / Re: Paid signatures poll on: January 08, 2014, 06:38:51 PM
I'd like to post my opinion in here but don't want to be labled a spammer or be mocked by my postcount ratio lol.

Obviously I'm in favour of keeping them, but I agree people who copy and paste replies etc need to be warned. If the rules are enforced stricter then spam shouldn’t be a problem. There are several members in the primedice thread who would be happy to report people to Stunna or the mods for spamming. What are the rules on spamming exactly? Is it a reportable offence? I haven’t reported any posts yet but I would if I get some clarity on this.
Yes, it is a reportable offence.

You sure about this? I'd like clarification from a mod, but either way it's hard to define what is and what isn't spam.
17329  Other / Meta / Re: Unreasonable Account Banning, Help Please. on: January 08, 2014, 06:35:56 PM
Obviously, hilariousandco & counter need to be ignored Smiley

hilariousandco: You don't actually contribute much to the conversation and appear a bit trollish at times.
counter:
Yep, waste of time.

Really? The only times I've ever done anything that could be even remotely called trolling is with scammers or perhaps my Tom Cruise Bitecoin Loan thread (which was a parody of the Islamic Bank one), but there's a difference between trolling and having a joke, but I'm sure there's a few people going through my post history as I type to try find something to use against me Cheesy. This is one of my problems though, it seems you can troll and spam as much as you want, only providing you don't have a paid signature. Hey, at least none of us are scamming because it would be unprofitable to do so  Grin.

And I don't think people need to write thesises* with every post, but I've had some pretty lengthy political/philosophical discussions with people here. I'd say out of all the Signature participants I'm probably one of the people that contributes the most, but this is beside the point.

*No idea what the plural of thesis is (thesi?)  Grin.
17330  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A friend's idea to promote on: January 08, 2014, 06:31:30 PM
Where is the none option? lol.

Mean mean Tongue

Nice!

However, you can no longer get angry at people pointing their cell phone camera's at your butt, they're just trying to read the code! *wink*

I would never get angry at that. Please be my guest Wink and again most people are just having fun here. No tipping or begging. I think I need to earn my coins and I have had. So be my guest too Tongue

I'm sure you would if it was in real life.

I have caught a few guys at the gym. I guess it is a public space so they can do it. Plus they are somewhat far away. But up close and right next to me would be creepy as heck

What, really? Pretty sure they can't do that, or it's definitely behaviour that should get them kicked out of the gym.
17331  Other / Meta / Re: Paid signatures poll on: January 08, 2014, 06:14:23 PM
Same issue as selling accounts. If paid signatures are banned, how do you know if an ad in someone's signature isn't just a recommendation?
If it isn't 26pt, red and bold.

What about standard size but blocks of orange green and blue?  Wink
That means it's a recommendation which has been styled to look nice by someone who cares about web design!

I just changed my sig all for you, Whiskers. Didn't like the blue one anyway  Grin.

We can tweak them a bit. Why don't you design me one that more to your tastes? Maybe an orange green and blue one?

Kanye can never take a joke. Can they even sue over this? It's not even using his name.
17334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A friend's idea to promote on: January 08, 2014, 06:01:47 PM

well this turned out to be a cool thread...a bit smart and a lot sexy Wink
Monica80: Rocky Point?

Very close, how did you know? Are you from the area? I'm very curious Smiley

He's probably stalking you.
17335  Other / Meta / Re: Please fix these annoying forum BUGS. on: January 08, 2014, 05:53:50 PM
Every time I login and try to post I get the error:

Quote
The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later.

Which is incorrect. Why must I wait 6 minutes after logging in to make a post?

-

Additionally - if I press the 'back' button, wait 6 minutes, then press post I get an error screen saying that I've already posted what I'm trying to post. But if I go back to the thread/forum and refresh, this is not true.

Then, if I click Reply again, type in my reply, and try to post it I must wait ANOTHER 6 minutes.

Ridiculously annoying. Is this forum hosted by idiots? PHP isn't even hard.

It's not a bug. Log-ins and attempted posts count. You must make sure to wait the full 6 minutes.
17336  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose(country)? on: January 08, 2014, 05:46:35 PM
I would live in Japan. Beautiful country overall and close to the rest of the world, aka not the U.S. I wouldn't have to spend a boatload of money to travel to Europe, Asia or Australia if I lived there as well.

They have a bit of a radiation problem since the last few years and occasional typhoons, earthquakes and tsunami's. Plus I really don't like what they do with the whales and the dolphins.

What is is they do with them that you don't like?

Im visiting the dfw dallaz area right now. Not a bad place at all, but i have already seen a few blondes with thick southern sccents.
What does a southern blonde smell like?  Grin

If she's from Dallas, maybe BBQ sauce?

southern sccents  Grin Grin Grin

17337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lilly's Allen has made the biggest mistake of her life on: January 08, 2014, 05:41:25 PM
I don't know about Allen here, if she ever was thinking about doing it at all. If so, and she ever did some research and calculated that it was not worth it, so be it. That's ok. Observe the facts and weight them.

If she did not accept it because of never having heard of bitcoins, and never did any research about what it was. Her mistake.

Who had heard of Bitcoins years ago? Very few probably.
17338  Other / Meta / Re: Paid signatures poll on: January 08, 2014, 05:35:48 PM
I wont if they ban signature ads Grin, but otherwise; yeah, look out Phinny.

So you are only spamming the forums because of the paid signature? Because, there is no way you would have something to contribute on every thread you post in.

1) How is there 'no way'? Any evidence behind this or are you just assuming? 2) Can you define 'spam'? It seems anybody with a paid sig or high post count / low activity ratio is now automatically referred to as a spammer or is spamming. I only post where I have something to contribute. I don't even go in the mining or development sections because I have little to no knowledge in those areas (check my stats). I would be an absolute liar if I said I wasn't posting as much because of my signature deal; but again, what does it matter whether I or anybody else makes 50 posts a month or spends every waking minute of every day posting, as long as it's not spam and utter bollocks? It doesn't. If I was spamming I'm sure I would've been banned already, but apparently according to this my posting habits are seemingly ok. If they become a problem I'm sure I'll be warned. Again, punish people who post spam nonsense, not everybody else.

She probably just thought it was worthless internet money.

I guess it probably was back then  Grin.
17340  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lilly's Allen has made the biggest mistake of her life on: January 08, 2014, 05:30:27 PM
If you were a celebrity, with a schedule and fans and a career,  how would you respond if I offered you $500 worth of stock in some internet startup for a performance?

That's pretty much what happened.

True, but it was just a stream of a show apparently, not even a private gig.
