18321  Other / Meta / Re: Why was my thread moved to Games and Rounds? on: December 29, 2013, 12:04:10 PM
For a moment, I thought this was going to be a thread about BadBear asking why somebody moved his thread haha. How naive of me.
18322  Other / Off-topic / Re: Shameless (US version) returns in about 2 weeks on: December 29, 2013, 12:01:14 PM
have you tried Agents of SHIELD, or Green Arrow Smiley) those are kind of action heroic series that are very interesting

i have given up on primetime network tv. it's all bad. i haven't watched any of those dramas since house went off air. the storylins are way too formulaic and it's just the same rehashed shit.

tried watching the UK version but i don't understand half of WTF they are saying.

Haha. How much of this can you understand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx3Zdl_V3zo

i saw that last night before making this post and i coulnd't understand any of it.. can you actually comnprehend wtf he's saying? why is it so hard to understand your english?

seems like the UK frank rambles by himself more than anything else.. US version of frank interacts with more people. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD_zKs55bNs

Northern eloquence. UK Frank has his enlightening philosophical moments too, especially when he's sober Frank.

btw, you would like american frank. he lets sheila anally probe him, which was what ultimately helped him smuggle the cocaine through mexican borders (in his roomy butthole).

Haha, Frank gets pegged by Shelia in the UK version, but there's no anal drug smuggling.
18323  Other / Off-topic / Re: find replies to my post??? on: December 29, 2013, 11:55:18 AM
So I commented on a few threads and when I clicked on "Show new replies to your posts" it took me to the first page of a thread that has 50 pages...how in the world would I know which page my comment is on??? Clicking from messages yield the same or similar result!

It'll be easier to just find them though your posts in your profile. Or instead of clicking on the first page, click on the last and work yourself back.
18324  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do people spend their bitcoins mostly? on: December 29, 2013, 11:48:54 AM
Drugs, probably. I think people spend them on a whole host of things, but I'm saving mine until there's hopefully merchants I can buy something I really want from.

A Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-GsLh6dazI

Little angel go away
Come again some other day
The devil has my ear today
I'll never hear a word you say
He promised I would find a little solace
And some piece of mind
Whatever just as long as I don't feel so
Desperate and Ravenous
so weak and powerless
18326  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Newbie restrictions are BS on: December 29, 2013, 11:46:14 AM
I was lurking on the technical forum and there was a post where the poster had asked a question related to the theory of distributed processing, of which Bitcoin is just one example.   I happened to know the answer (or more precisely to be able to come up with links to the computer science literature that analyzed this question and which would be what the poster really wanted to read).

But there was no Reply button.  Nor any reason why there was no such button.  Eventually, after wasting several minutes I came across this idiotic quarantine zone and the rules to wait for hours, make a fool of myself with useless posts, etc...

If it's SPAM that's the issue, this is easily handled.  Considering that this is a Bitcoin forum, there could be an address that accepts a modest BTC donation that would allow newbies to escape prison. The BTC could be split between the forum operators and the moderators who could interview the newbie to see if he passes the Turing test, etc...

It's not idiotic. These rules are stated when you sign up. And it's not just prevention against spam, but for a number of other reasons too. Whilst the donate BTC might be beneficial to some, most newbs just wont want to donate anyway and just bide their time. This donating to avoid newbie quarantine can also be abused to get round these rules. You can always try post your request in the whitelist thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15911.0
18327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PGP signatures on: December 29, 2013, 11:43:00 AM
Hey.
What is the deal with PGP signatures? How can I use them?

PGP messages, how do they work?

Watch some videos on Youtube to get the gist of it: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=pgp+encryption&sm=1

18328  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitlaunder.com = SCAM! on: December 29, 2013, 11:40:02 AM
Go ahead and post whatever 'evidence' you have of the 'scam'.  This is complete horseshit, and you know it.

I run BitPlastic.com, PaidBitcoin.com, BitFiverr.com, BitListing.com, BitSweeps.com, TheBitcoinEscrow.com and dozens more Bitcoin sites .. and, what, you think we're going to scam you for some miniscule amount of Bitcoins, and damage our reputation as a huge network?  Insane.

I don't like people slinging accusations at me, so if you have some evidence, or want to provide your BitLaunder username, I'm happy to personally take a look. I know for a fact you never even emailed support, as I just spoke with them.

How long does it take on average to launder/process coins through your website? Maybe this user just didn't wait long enough?

18329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: tor services on: December 29, 2013, 11:36:59 AM
after passing the newbie muster is the marketplace where one might post links to .onion sites? i saw something saying that it was limited to profile signatures. is this correct? are there any wikis or other types of directories that list sites accepting bit coins? if so, what is the accepted procedure to get sites listed on these indexes (if they exist at all)?

I'm unclear on what you're asking exactly, but the marketplace here is to list goods for sale, not really advertising other sites.

There are sites that index TOR sites / marketplaces, but I'd just search for them.

18331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newb Questions.. on: December 29, 2013, 11:32:35 AM
So as the title says, I'm new to the bitcoin thing and I have questions
Which one is more preferred for a beginner doggy coins or protocoins?
What are the current exchange rates for both of them?

:> thanks for answering.. :>

What to mine depends on your specs and the block rewards. I'd spend some time researching coins and mining before you jump right in.

A good guide to all the alt coins is: http://www.wheretomine.com/

18333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: too many alternative coins on: December 29, 2013, 11:24:51 AM
Hey, i would like to know whatīs your opinion on all the alternative currencies, do they really have a future? I really canīt look at this alt coins seriously... Hamstercoins, Catcoins...

Is there any possibility that a coin like catcoin or dogecoin is able to withstand?

There will always be new coins as people just try to profit or get rich quick off them and then move on. The only alts that will survive as currencies are those that can get some merchant adoption behind them, which very few have managed so far.
18334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What will you do if bitcoin "wins"? on: December 29, 2013, 11:21:20 AM
Most people become unhappy when they win large amounts of money because they were operating under the assumption that money equals success and happiness, and it doesn't, and this gives them a cold, hard shock. A good percentage of people who suddenly win big end up losing their fortune because they don't know how to manage money properly and try to buy happiness in materialistic goods etc. If you're happy and healthy you're rich already. It's a shame most people don't realise this already.

18338  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fully Secure chat on: December 29, 2013, 11:04:14 AM
Is there any chat service that is 100% secure, and encrypted chat that no government can track? I have nothing really to hide, but I like the fact that there is something out there that the government cant control. Cheesy

I haven't tried it, but there's TORchat: http://lifehacker.com/5919523/torchat-is-an-easy-to-use-anonymous-and-encrypted-chat-client
18339  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MRs. P The BitcoinWife, I am Here for you on: December 29, 2013, 11:03:38 AM

Haha, not those kind of women.

If you want to  get more women involved in Bitcoin, just simply tell more women about Bitcoin.
18340  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Predict the Date: When will Amazon accept Bitcoin ? on: December 29, 2013, 10:55:20 AM
Amazon may accept BTC in the future, but it wont be for a while yet. I think if the currency gains more mainstream traction with other merchants getting on board, then I think Amazon will too, but they wont be the first big retailer to adopt it.

i agree with that too, but then again i/we could be wrong. jeff bezos is a libertarian after all.

Is he? He seems just like another greedy tax-avoiding capitalist to me.
