sorry for those who got MT.STAMP'd

Gox was so much cooler.
Getting Goxed rolls off the tongue.
Getting stamped just doesn't have the same effect.

do you think it is better to change in ripple/altcoins?

No. Definitely not a centralized corporate proprietary altcoin.

I would say that these thefts will happen again. What we need are ATMs that are hack proof like Trezors. Bitcoin needs to focus on being an impenetrable iron vault that fits in your pocket. Only licensed brokers should be allowed to trade bitcoins on the markets although you are free to use the ATMs as a convenience.

Thanks for your permission oh supreme overlord.  Cheesy
1846  Economy / Speculation / When Stamp re-opens will the price rise or fall? on: January 05, 2015, 04:42:39 PM
When Bitstamp starts allowing trades again will the price jump up or down?

If the clowns have really lost their private keys, this is actually pretty good for the rest of us who dont transact at that dump. Takes out a a decent supply out of the bitcoin economy. My bitcoins just got a teeny weeny bit more scarce, so not too bad.

That's an interesting perspective.
1848  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you have coins trapped on Bitstamp and want to get them out, do this on: January 05, 2015, 05:34:19 AM
for all we know bitstamp is hacked and Gox 2.0 is happening.

1849  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 05, 2015, 04:49:49 AM

Informing your customers that there is a problem with the hot wallet and that deposits may result in private keys being lost is one very risky way of halting a crash. Who knows... It is just strange that the price is taking all this in stride.

If no one can send bitcoins into the exchange, they won't have any to sell.

Are we supposed to take a btc-e bounce seriously ?

always take btc-e serious, they are the oldest exchange and the most stupid people (in the trollbox) are there

BTC-e the bearish of all exchanges is leading the bounce. So confused right now...

It's them damn miners and merchants! rabble rabble!!1 These dumps the result of miners trying to cover electricity costs and a busy barista house that logs into finex at the end of the day and dumps their coin at market rate.
1854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 04, 2015, 04:31:21 PM
What a bunch of overly emotional pussies many bitcoiners are. If you are holding and feeling fear right now, that is the plan. The myriad bears and trolls in here are part of the scam to get your coins cheap. It's time to hold and buy like never before with money you can afford to lose. How do you imagine it felt to buy at 1.99 in 2011? Do you think it was scary back then to buy then when similar sentiment was running high? No one is going to get rich easy, it will take balls of steel (right Jorge? Cheesy)

< 4B Market cap is peanuts. The concept is being more proven as time goes on and the network is expanding with buying bitcoin being less and less of a risk as time goes on.  We are very close to bitcoin 1.0

Most people know how to count to the bolded part.

Quadrillion, right?
1860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Vanity Address Generators hurt bitcoin? on: January 03, 2015, 04:06:59 AM
There are almost unlimited address.

I think it would be fair to get rid of the "almost" in this case.  What was that address factoid? Something like if 100,000 addresses were created every second since the beginning of the universe there still would be unused addresses left over.
