What do you know already?
What have you tried?

By polling you mean do you mean create a poll similar how can create a poll on here?

Node.js is the most popular lately, all the cool kids are using it. Also PHP should work just fine for this, you can store the results in database and visually chart the results with amcharts, highcharts etc

1786  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 25, 2015, 11:55:10 PM
I hope you bought in while you had the chance NLC. Your posts seem to have lost the rabid anti-bitcoin edge they displayed previously. I suspect you are one of the cult again Smiley

I bought two coins this past week, one I bought an hour ago after the coinbase news... funny to think how long it took me to accumulate 2 coins a year ago.

1789  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculating Coinbase's Lunar announcement for tomorrow on: January 25, 2015, 06:57:44 PM
The Winklevoss twinz are giving a speech tomorrow Monday the 26th at 12:25 PM according to this...http://www.etf.com/inside-etfs-conference/agenda.html.

With the NYSE investing in Coinbase and Coinbase flying around in spaceships I have theories.

George Kikvadze also mentioned on Twitter a BTC ETF launching on Nadaq...https://twitter.com/BitfuryGeorge/status/558097302678962176.

I have to credit the user lyth0s on another forum for leading me to this information.

So maybe a new ETF launched by Coinbase in cooperation with people active on Wall Street? Could be something like Second Market. They may be interested in offering an investment vehicle for professional traders and registered investors.

Interesting... Even Barry Silbert tweeted about this, so maybe there is a connection with Second Market??

Not getting back in until I see 3 successive green candles on the 1w charts.

Obviously I won't get in at the bottom but it will at least be on the way up.

If you did that back in June you would have bought at the top.
1791  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculating Coinbase's Lunar announcement for tomorrow on: January 25, 2015, 05:15:52 PM
But they don't have a history of hyping hot air

Agreed. I'm wondering why would they would present it like this instead of an update on their blog or a tweet? Seems really strange... makes me want to buy a coin or two today, but I'm resisting the urge as most hypes I've seen previously end up being let downs.
1792  Economy / Speculation / Speculating Coinbase's Lunar announcement for tomorrow on: January 25, 2015, 05:01:38 PM
I want to hear what you think might be tomorrow's announcement.

https://www.coinbase.com/lunar

Some random guesses:
- A new regulated USD/BTC exchange hosted by Coinbase? Currently they aren't really an exchange but a broker.
- Partnership with a mutual fund company like Fidelity or Vanguard allowing people to invest in BTC with their 401k.

EDIT:

Speculation from Chairforce1:
BTC ETF launch with Nasdaq or NYSE. The Winklevoss twinz are giving a speech tomorrow.

Can't tell if your asking about building a faucet, sending a payment or creating a payment gateway based on your post.

Update:  for your above..

parseFloat("15854420.40053001").toFixed(Cool;

Cheesy your toFixed8 got converted to a smiley.  I've used both methods, the float and just integer and count satoshis. I like the satoshi approach more when storing in my DB IMO.

Due to its banking partnership, dollars kept on Gemini will be eligible for FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) insurance and are as "safe and secure as they are in your bank account today", the exchange claims."

Hmm... FDIC only insures bank deposits against bank failures, isn't that so?

If the clients' dollar deposits are stored in a single bank account, in the name of Gemini (as most exchanges do), the FDIC will not insure the clients against Genesis screwing it up (as MtGOX did).  Isn't that so?

Not just banks. They also insure "depository institutions" per FDIC's website:  " The majority of these insured depository institutions are subsidiaries of bank holding companies."

1798  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: how to create user bitcoin wallet management feature on: January 21, 2015, 05:44:50 AM
Something to be aware of when generating addresses for each user with blockchain.info is the wallet will "max out" at 1,000 addresses. They don't tell you this upfront, which is kind of lame if you chose this option for your site only to find out later. Maybe you want to generate the address and keys yourself and then assign the addresses to each new user as they sign up. You can use blockchain.info API for checking balances or using a hot wallet for sending payments.

There's also several options with running bitcoind on a VPS and then use jsonRPC calls.

The NYSE is a private entity?

Nope they are public.

Really, where is it traded? Is NYSE traded on the NYSE?

Oh yea! Now that's good news, just bought another coin for the stash.
