Iron Fish: Why KYC?
As we near mainnet on April 20th, we’ve heard from community members who are curious about our need to perform KYC (Know Your Customer) for the testnet airdrop. In this post, we’ll explain why Iron Fish, as a USA-based project, is obliged to enforce KYC for airdrops.

Because of regulatory uncertainty around US securities laws, we are unable to send tokens to US citizens. We understand the concerns of US users and regret that this is the case.

As we’ve already indicated, we will hold the tokens of US users who complete KYC. If the regulatory requirements change and we receive legal clearance to send, we will revisit completing the airdrop. We are not at all guaranteeing this will happen.

1864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future of GPU mining, what's your plan? on: April 06, 2023, 11:11:04 AM
Golden era for GPU mining was 2015 Ethereum. You would be mining for breakeven electricity cost. In hindsight all you had to was hodl few years. You would net x1000 return on this mining investment.

Too bad. Now that is behind. ETH went from PoW to PoS.

For GPUs currently it is Conflux and that isn't too attractive.

Future of GPU mining is in shambles. I am not too optimistic about it.

All these pessimistic talk about GPU mining right now made me exchange ETHW,not all of them but half of them in favor of LTC which I then converted to ZIL and through ZIL I am getting rewards daily, not much but 2 ZIL a day for doing nothing is not that bad.

I continue mining despite things not looking as good and as promising they were when we were all mining ETH before it moved to PoS,all the GPU manufacturers losing a lot of money I am sure will do something and within the end of 2024 we would be having another great coin to mine, patience is key as they say.

Mine conflux or kaspa or ironfish. Profit margin vs electricity/hardware cost not too bad.

I don't think they'll rally like Ethereum but still pay is good.
ironfish is not yet available for mining. On the agenda of the miners is the issue of buying new video cards, because all 3 coins that you mentioned use the core of the video card very well and the 4xxx series will be a good option for them. But miners don't want hot graphics cards like 4080 and 4090.
1865  Other / Archival / Re: What is FPGA miner? on: April 06, 2023, 11:06:24 AM
Because I'm not interested to mine bitcoin, however I want something more powerful than GPUs to do double hashing, but I want to change the inputs and the software, since we can't change ASIC to do something other than mining.
Do you want to code better than FPGA manufacturers to mine coins?
It may happen that the equipment becomes obsolete and you have to buy new equipment. And you will not be able to recoup the old equipment. But I haven't seen anyone write code better than hardware developers yet.
1866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dynexcoin mining on: April 06, 2023, 10:59:49 AM
5700xt is not the best graphics card for mining Dynexcoin, maybe better for mining other coins
https://hashrate.no/gpus/5700xt
Setting up Hive OS takes no more than 10 minutes. Benchmarks on many sites are old, because it is better to check the hashrate yourself.
5700xt gives 40 cents of profit per day, it's not bad today.
1867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best graphics cards for a small budget on: April 06, 2023, 10:50:52 AM
I would not be in a hurry to buy this graphics card on April 13th. It is not known which manufacturer's model will be better for mining. If you buy a video card with bad thermal pads, you will have to change them yourself and you may void your warranty. There is no big profit now, it is better to wait for the reviews of other miners.

Ryzen 9 7950X3D buyers face massive processor losses
The Ryzen 9 7950X3D processors presented at the end of February, described by AMD as the fastest gaming processors in the world, proved to be extremely unreliable. Users complain about processor failures in the first days or weeks of use. Our own laboratory has a similar experience.

 This delay also means testnet participants will have more time to complete KYC;

Iron Fish: Privacy and Accessibility in Cryptocurrency

These two statements seem to be in conflict with one another.

Mining hasn't started yet, don't take the news seriously yet

We are thrilled to announce our open-source GPU mining competition!
During this competition, eligible users are invited to create open-source GPU miners on the Iron Fish network. The more miners there are, the more secure and decentralized Iron Fish becomes.

I have about $600 and would like to know the best graphics card I can find for that money
I also think that if you want to buy a video card for mining and use it during the 3 year warranty period, then it is better to buy 4000 series, but not hot video cards. My observation about the hashrate on new coins in this post.

But do not rush to buy, wait for the reviews.
1871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 4090 and others on: April 05, 2023, 12:45:22 PM
According to a leaked benchmark, the RTX 4070 GPU has been tested on a Core i9-13900K system with an ASRock Z790 Taichi Carrara motherboard. Given how niche this motherboard is, we might assume that this is a reviewer preparing data for April 12th.  The card is confirmed to feature 12GB and 10.5 GHz (21 Gbps) memory. This is the same configuration as the RTX 4070 Ti.

Furthermore, the leak confirms 46 Streaming Multiprocessor count, which translates into 5888 CUDA cores. This is quite literally the last part of the RTX 4070 specs that still had to be confirmed. Now it seems we know everything.

1872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BzMiner - Advanced Commercial Nvidia ETH Miner v2.6 release. 0.5% Dev fee on: April 05, 2023, 12:41:37 PM
I'm using Fedora 37 and with my EVGA 3080Ti XC3, I was able to use bzminer to adjust clocks and power limits.

However, I have another machine with a EVGA 3090 FTW3 and I can't get bzminer to adjust the lock memory clock.  Power limit works, not sure if the lock core clock worked or not (lower than specified in the setting, but it could be because the memory is still at the stock 9751 MHz).

Thinking it may be a Linux thing, I booted into Windows 11, and same thing.  So does bzminer have a problem with OC settings with 3090s?

PS: In all instances, I ran with sudo (Linux) and admin (Win).
I have not used Fedora for mining and have not used Windows for a long time, but I can suggest you try Hive OS. There is a very convenient interface for setting the core frequency, memory frequency and power limit. It is also convenient to change the miner very quickly in order to compare the hashrate and check for errors on the selected miner.
1873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: No one talks about xmr and CPU mining anymore on: April 05, 2023, 12:36:57 PM
Are people still mining XMR anymore? I don't see somiwn talking about Monero anymore, I would like to know how good the latest Intel CPUs are doing with XMR mining, like the high end i9 series and the AMD Ryzen 9 processors. Any improvement?
Monero miners use this site. I think that you can find a profit calculator on your own.
https://xmrig.com/benchmark
The old problem is that if you buy a processor for mining, then to calculate the payback you need to take into account the cost of not the processor, but the whole computer. And Monero needs a fast memory, because then the hashrate is higher.
1874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dynexcoin mining on: April 05, 2023, 12:29:50 PM
Also you can use the latest version of SRB Miner.
The RX 570 video card gives a very small profit, about 5 cents per day, if you pay 5 cents for electricity. It's very few now.

What is the hash rate for RX 570 and 580 (8GB of course) cards for Dynexcoin mining?
it confuses me a bit as the results vary from platform to platform. I would be happy to turn my cards on again.

RX570 4GB has around 860 h @ software readed 50 - 60w = 90 - 100w from the wall i think, i make a test tomorrow with PMD. I saw around 900 h for 8GB cards, but i think you can go higher.
On average 840-870 H/s depending on the graphics card mining settings. But even if you buy these video cards for $70, the payback period looks very long and you need to service a lot of mining farms. And high power consumption is not possible in a private house, so it is better to use more modern video cards.
1875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: OneZeroMiner- only supported algorithm is DynexSolve on: April 05, 2023, 12:23:33 PM
4090: 10 KH/s
3090: 5.2 KH/s
The new 4090 video card is almost 2 times better than the old 3090 predecessor.
We see a similar situation in benchmarks on the NEXA coin, when the 4090 video card has a hashrate of 320 Mh, and the 3090 video card
has a hashrate of 151Mh.
Next, the RADIANT 4090 video card is 3340Mh, and the 3090 video card is 1110Mh.
On old coins, the 4090 video card and the 3090 video card have approximately the same hashrate.
1876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: April 05, 2023, 12:12:57 PM
The Ethereum Shanghai hard fork, set to occur on April 12, will implement Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP)-4895 — allowing validators and stakers to withdraw staked ETH from the Beacon Chain — in addition to other EIPs, aiming to help increase transaction speeds while reducing transaction costs.
Shanghai refers to the fork on the execution layer client side, and Capella is the upgrade name on the consensus layer client side that is set to be executed shortly after Shanghai on April 12.
The execution layer is where all the smart contracts and protocol rules are, while the consensus layer ensures that all network validators follow these rules.

Breaking 🚨
$kas #rust implementation runs seamlessly on mainnet.
Implications: if all goes well, the first stable version of rusty-kaspa will soon be released, and then we start increasing block rates in testnet.
That's right, the #fastestpow is getting faster!

I have driver 20.40.1. With the latest lol miner 5600xt gives 26mh -nexa coin. Sometimes I see invalid shares, but they are few.

Please ty to update to the new image in HiveOS image. The driver 20.40.1 is quite old, and the 21.50.2 works better, also need it for the all Vegas too for example
Why update if I don’t see any problems in the operation of the mining farm and video cards give out a standard hashrate. On this coin, the hash rate is highly dependent on the core frequency, I can overclock the core to 1400 megahertz, but this will add additional power consumption and overheating. While I stopped at a frequency of 1350.
