any news here? i dont want to bother shawn haggerty any more than i need to but ken has missed his date to pay fines (i assume) and i wonder what is next?

Last thing i heard was that Shawn Haggerty really noticed and followed through that we could get some coins from MtGox. I think that is a good thing even though MtGox probably only will deliver 20 to 25% of the losses. It's still huge compared to others.

MtGox might try to claim Clams... maybe it would be a nice amount of fiat. But if that happens they would need to be cautious to not crash the price from the shier fact that digging in big amounts is going on.

Anyway... i can't claim losses because i don't have any trading data from bitfunder and ukyo stopped communicating completely. Looks like i can't get the trading data. Or does someone have another tip how to claim the losses? I mean it might be possible that ukyo will be forced to give out that data at some point and i would want to have my claim included then. At the end i know my losses circa, so i might simply claim them?

Wink

it's shocking bad news & good news in one packet
good to hear: ISIS decides to not using bitcoin again
bad to hear: ISIS really realizing their idea to make their own currency
well, we can do nothing for now..
let's see how long ISIScoin will stay exist in this world  Lips sealed

This coin will be heavily observed by every western agency to find potential isis supporters. It might be shown that way that cryptocurrencies are not as safe as some think and it might lead to bitcoin getting out of danger of getting banned.

Surely alot of people will fall in that trap.
1884  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 11, 2015, 05:29:46 PM
I was able to reach the lawyer by phone a hour ago. He spoke slowly english so i was able to understand him luckily. I already informed LCSH about the details so that we can decide what the best course of action would be.

gogxmagog... speaking to the police would not help he told me. He does not even get info about the case and he is the lawyer, the plaintiff would not get info and we are not even plaintiffs in this case, only adjacent raising of the damage to initiate the case. But the investigation goes on.

I will see what the other LCSH-members say about the best course of action from here on. I will update the thread then.
1885  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 11, 2015, 05:24:02 PM
I agree but I really don't know what to do.
I'm drained of all money and cannot help with that.
I never was invited to the chat room or forum...
The time frame was quoted as 6 to 12 months, but could be extended if circumstances allow. I would guess the "good news" or maybe the fact the police realize Alberto is out of Italy but has enough evidence to be charged might buy some more time.
Is there an English speaking police I could talk to?
I have zero Italian but I could talk to an English speaking police.
I would need some run down of what questions to ask...
Or do we communicate with the lawyer?
Will VS answer PMs?
I would love to see some justice but I am sort of in the dark as to where we are and how best to proceed.

I believe LCSH was created on here in this thread or somewhere on Bitcointalk when some users wanted to go the legal route. I think we asked for donations on here too. Though you can't do much now anyway.

No, the good news would be more the opposite, a small timewindow that might have closed already. Sorry that i can't be more specific, maybe not all is lost yet and in order to not risk it unneccessary i would prefer to not speak about it yet...
1886  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 11, 2015, 04:32:52 PM
SebastianJu here is the simplified version of where we are (as I understand it)

Italian Police require that we (lcsh) present our complaint and all evidence showing that (done)

Police decide if they need to investigate (they are investigating)

Now it gets complicated because Alberto is hiding outside Italy (I think?)

This part can take a long time as Italian authorities are notoriously slow)

But the Italian police have determined Alberto is wanted for "impersonation" (fraud)

They need to locate him so they can charge him and bring him to court (any of us who can find him can help here)

That is all I know of this case... I really am not sure.

I'd like to hear from VS and know where we are

LCSH is not actually every shareholder, it is a group of a handfull of, mostly the biggest, shareholders, or those who wanted to act at that time. We created a chat and a forum and started investigating. We found a lot but yes, the italian police is not really usefull. And we tried to work in the best interest of every shareholder. Though you remember some of us speaking about good news? Well... there were good news, but chances became smaller and smaller with time going by. It was no fun to push for virtuals acting all the time and seeing the months going by. Now i decided to see for myself if i can do something to move things on because i fear we might lose the chance or already have lost it.

I'm really not sure if VS will come in here. Last thing he told us was that he wanted to wait for the italian police, which we knew already will probably be more dangerous than effective since the more time goes by the higher the chance gets that the police will do nothing anymore. That they give up and that's it. I remember someone stating that if after a certain timefrime nothing happened the case is as good as dead. So pushing things forward is the best thing to do.

Alberto has at least one other large scam where he left with a lot of investors funds. He was working with Meni Rosenfeld on BDT, and from what I understand Meni also filed some things with the police, and hired a PI, so you might be able to join forces. Thanks for your efforts!

We worked together with Meni Rosenfeld. We merged forces pretty much at the beginning of our investigation.

Its time to bring back JD with bitcoins, give up the shitcoins.
That will not happen, at least not yet, that i am sure about. If it happened "CLAM" would be pretty much destroyed along with all the people invested in it. The losses would be way too big for everyone involved with JD. The Shitestorm would be too big.
Only way it could happen is if JD allowed to pay with both CLAM and BTC. But that would also most likely still crush CLAM to a point of no return.
You wrong, i think that if doog reopens btc jd (which i doubt) he would just open another site like dd or create clamdice... do you forgot that clams stake ? Most of the investors are in calm cuz of that, also staking profit is about twice the investing profit.... its not true that clam is up just because jd but its true that jd made clam "famous". Thats what i think maybe im wrong.

Well actually, the price of Clam has already been destroyed, by the digger who has already dug more than 100,000 Clam, and has been dumping them on Polo. The price of Clam is well below where most JD players and investors bought them. If anyone was sensible they would of cashed out some Clam when the price was higher.
I dont believe the digger did a real damage, price is slowly driven down but you see that people is willing to buy bulk, everyone is so damn skeptical and i dont know how to get all those cheap damn clammies.

What happened with the just-dice thread? Oo It looks like dead. No post since a month. Did the digger make damage to just-dice?

I wonder what would happen if the fork get's agreed on. Clam would turn into the average altcoin without the additional twist. Gaming coin, ok, but a big part of it's charm would be lost. I wonder what the effect on just-dice would be.

Though i guess it's no good to think about unbroken eggs. Cheesy
1889  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptostocks - BTC,DVC,LTC denominated Stock Exchange/Crowdfunding Platform on: December 11, 2015, 10:57:15 AM
Kumala, yesterday i was told that the email system is not completely stuck. The issuers still receive their list of shareholders from cryptostocks via email. Only the users don't get emails. And no email for dividends that are paid out happen either.

So maybe you have two different scripts running there. One for you and issuers and one for shareholders. The latter script seems not to work. Hope you fix it.
1890  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptostocks - BTC,DVC,LTC denominated Stock Exchange/Crowdfunding Platform on: December 11, 2015, 10:55:35 AM
kumala is a fucking scammer

I heard such stories about his previous projects, though he is anonymous and i had no luck finding someone who knows him and could contact him for me when i requested info about labcoin shares traded.
1891  Economy / Securities / Re: [CANNABIT] Investment Details - Announcement & Discussion Thread #cannabit on: December 11, 2015, 10:54:21 AM
Yes. Withdrawal confirmation mails are not going out. Nor are Test mails or the deactivation mails. You can't get your BTC off cryptostocks currently if you have mail confirmation activated.

It's basically gone.  Roll Eyes

By the way... yesterday i was told that the issuer still receives emails from cryptostocks. Because he receives the list of shareholders via email. So it might be that there are two different scripts on there. One for kumala and issuers and one for users. I will mention it in cryptostocks thread, maybe kumala wonders what i want since he can receive emails.
1892  Economy / Securities / Re: [CANNABIT] Investment Details - Announcement & Discussion Thread #cannabit on: December 11, 2015, 10:52:41 AM
I nearly forgot to post this so i do it now. Smiley

The bad news is that this month there will be no dividend. The reason is that they had to move one of the growing location and the divs from this month were needed for the move and supplies. Though only this months divs are used for it, next month payment should happen normally.

Second thing is, please everyone uncheck the option that your email address is hidden from security issuers. If everyone moves quick then it might be possible to send the divs via the new system. See next paragraph. This might be the last warning about that point at all. Only a handfull of shareholders haven't unchecked that option yet and their shares are tiny. So maybe they forgot about this totally.

NXT is out of the game because of the difficulties in using it with bitcoin directly. I know, too bad that we already put time into it, though it's good that a move is considered at all. At the moment XCP (Counterparty) and Coinprism is looked into but XCP is in favor at the moment.

One of the big shareholders i work with to keep this moving will, most probably, visit the issuer around december 24 to 27 and check up on the status and how things go in general.

That's the status for now. Smiley
1893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoin address you have right now? why you have more than one? on: December 11, 2015, 02:55:39 AM
Ignore bitcoin addresses. Let the wallet worry about them. Think of a bitcoin address as an invoice number. Don't think of it as something like a phone number.
In my opinion:
Wallets just make things more complicated, it just adds more complexity and dependence.

You suggest I keep all my bitcoins "randomly" distributed between thousands of addresses?! No, thanks!

I'd just keep them all in 1 address and "spend<->receive" forever. It is just much simpler.

End of opinion.

Nobody says you should let the wallet do it randomly. I would say disable change addresses first, they are a tool to connect all your bitcoin addresses in your wallet and so a tool for losing anonymity. Then everytime you send funds, decide on your own from which addresses the coins should be taken from. Then you can decide if addresses can or should not be connected.

At the end you don't have a business and a private bank account. Not one account where you let all transactions go through. It simply becomes cluttered and you will have a hard time to find out what happened in the past.

Wait a second. If you have one address then anyone can connect all your addresses because there is only one. If you want to segregate your bitcoins, some wallets have an account feature that lets you do that without burdening you with the details.

In the end, I guess it comes down to preference. Wallet software is designed to manage addresses, transactions, privacy, and security for you, and it can probably do a better job than most people, but if you like to micro-manage your addresses manually, then go for it.

Do you speak about change addresses? They don't lead to stopping to the connection, in fact it is the opposite. Nearly all the wallet addresses found by walletexplorer are found through change addresses most of the time.

Or do you mean a different feature?

1896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: December 11, 2015, 02:14:25 AM
I believe most services, properly designed, will have swept their wallets and not have such a large amount of addresses.
A service small enough that it can afford to not sweep their wallets is likewise less of a threat.

I think a service that sweeps out addresses and does NOT backup the private keys and/or let these addresses stay in a different wallet, would not be trusted by me. It always can happen that users use very old deposit addresses. I would hate to tell them that we deleted the privkey and so the coins vanished into nirvana.

A backup of the private keys should be the minimum.

In fact i think it would be not a bad idea when mtgox would claim his clams if possible. A lot of people wait for compensation, around 20 to 25% were in the conversation mentioned some months ago. With digged clams, handled correctly in order to not crash the market, would likely be able to raise that percent.
1897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: December 11, 2015, 02:08:28 AM
Quote
Before this whale digger appeared, around 72k old addresses had been dug up. That's 2.2% of the initial distribution.

Now that the whale digger has apparently finished, around 178k old addresses have been dug up. That's 5.5% of the initial distribution.

These numbers are misleading because of staking. The latest dig was only 60% of the active supply, not 150% of it. Future digs will be even smaller relative to active supply, both because more digging has already occurred but because staking will continue to dilute undug coins.

You mention a good point. Digging is not the only way to raise the total amount of clams in use. But i guess the fear factor is the most important role in this game now. And fear is a hard thing to deal with.
1898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: December 11, 2015, 02:05:38 AM
Reducing the entire problem to "(current) block-creators decide everything" is oversimplifying to a dangerous degree.

OK, so who should "decide everything", if not the coin's stakeholders?

Exactly that is what i thought too. Though i think that danger is now avoided isn't it? Price stabilizes and the fork is dead or am i missing something?

I think this is what you are missing:

Before this whale digger appeared, around 72k old addresses had been dug up. That's 2.2% of the initial distribution.

Now that the whale digger has apparently finished, around 178k old addresses have been dug up. That's 5.5% of the initial distribution.

There's 94.5% of the initial distribution still undug.

People seem to be thinking that the whale digger's 3.3% is somehow significant, rather than being only 1/30th of the initial distribution.

This is a single guy who probably abused a bunch of faucets. Think about what happens if the Silk Road wallet ever gets dug up. Or the MtGox wallet. BTC-e. SatoshiDice. MyBitcoin. Pirate's Ponzi wallet. The various big mining pools. And so on. There are many more potential whale diggers out there.

BAC was actively petitioning the government to release the confiscated Silk Road private keys so he could dig the associated CLAMs.

tl;dr: one guy digging 3.3% of the initial distribution != "danger is now avoided". His actions are tiny in the scale of things.

Edit: some people find a graphical representation easier to understand. Everyone was freaking about about the impact of the orange area, but we're supposed to somehow not worry about the yellow area?

I do agree with the sentiment that some have expressed that We Survived the Great Digging Panic of 2015 and with the right response that can make the coin stronger and more resilient. But then you still have some people approaching it more from a FUD perspective ("Okay, but what about the next whale digger?! zOMG!!"), sadly.

Why do you call that "FUD"? 94.5% of the initial distribution is still unclaimed. Are you arguing with that number, or you think it doesn't matter that this massive inflation we've just seen could happen again repeatedly in the future?

Though i think that is the rule everyone agreed on when going into clams. It was nice claiming clams when it was usefull for oneself but now it's not not convenient anymore because clammers fear diluting of their wealth.

Of course, the one with the power can decide but if the fork becomes reality it would look like clams and their community would be corrupted. Sure, i can speak easy about it when i don't hold clams at the moment but it sounds like misuse of position. Taking an advantage but negating the same right to others after that, locking profits for oneself while others are blocked from their clams. If i would own a good wallet and would find out that it is worthless now then i would be pretty angry about such selfishness of a community.

Guess the decision might be already made then. Only a couple of the biggest clammers will decide what will happen i guess.
1899  Economy / Speculation / Re: Illuminati End Game Started --- effects on BTC on: December 11, 2015, 01:55:20 AM
Even when government would want to give fixed addresses, they can't force you to use it. They would not even know if you use bitcoin and send and receive them. Since they don't know the addresses are yours.

When has "can't force it" stopped the government from coming up with draconian laws before?

They will outlaw the use of non-whitelisted bitcoin addresses even though they cannot reliably enforce the law. This just gives way to more corruption. Even though LEs would be having hard time trying to track the IPs to the responsible "criminals" who used bitcoin illegally, they will try and they will put some people to jail. It will be enough to scare the sheeple and demotivate them of using bitcoin illegally.

So sure, you can let them give you the addresses but i doubt bitcoins would think of their blockchain as the real bitcoin.

Sorry but I don't understand what you want to say with this sentence.

Yes, again it would hit the small people and the big fishs will be unharmed because they can hide pretty well. At least forbidden bitcoin will let the price crash.

In my second sentence i meant bitcoiners not bitcoins. Bitcoiners won't accept a governmental blockchain.
1900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ISIS is not satisfied with bitcoin, they made their own currency on: December 11, 2015, 12:39:42 AM
The thing is, would somebody buy their coins?
Because many people don't trust them(because they are evil), then who want to store their coins?

Unfortunately there are enough fans of IS, i can ensure you even in your near surroundings.

I think it might lead to draw away suspicion from bitcoin. Though cryptocurrencies as a whole might become attackable.

After that we will know who are fans of ISIS much easier. And with so much talking about them we will rise price of that currency for sure.
I'm bored with this talking about them, we together make commercial for them. Mentioning ISIS every day is probably good for them and their future plans of making this world one big Califat.
Well I will buy several when they make it, in beginning they will be cheap. And later I can buy some gun or gasoline more easily.

I think you should not touch them at all. It probably could be seen as supporting terrorism when funding their ICO. You surely won't be connected to this. You know... guantanamo and worse things...
