1901  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Exchange launching soon with new accountability tech on: May 31, 2019, 04:01:24 AM
Hey Everyone I've been working at a new exchange for almost a year now and were finally almost to market. We require signatures from both parties (exchange/user) for every action taken. We think this approach is going to make us the most accountable as you'll always have the signatures to prove your account state if we mess around.
That is good and bad in a way. I will have my money stuck on your exchange forever if the exchange decides not to sign my withdrawal request? Exchanges have a reputation for holding users withdrawals for a number of reasons. This certainly isn't going to work in users favor in times of a dispute.

The main idea is actually good and can be viable especially in the light of many hacking that occurred in big cryptocurrency exchanges. Now, let's hope that the concern here by forum member Patatas can be adequately addressed before we go and jump into this new exchange platform. I am waiting for the official response to this query.
1902  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-27] Bitcoin Hits New 2019 High Above $8,900 on: May 31, 2019, 03:47:35 AM
Let's not be too optimistic.
What do you expect people to do? When the price is tanking hard everyone is saying that the price will go up again so there is no need to worry, and when we do finally go up, people suddenly have to stop being optimistic.

It's clear that the current bull run has made the market become super irrational again. CNBC is no longer a counter indicator, the mass being overly bullish isn't either, so just go with the trend and you'll be doing fine.

Maybe that the $10k mark will bring the correction we have been waiting for, but it could just as easily blast right through it. Grab yourself some popcorn and a drink and enjoy looking at bulls slaughtering the bears.

I am actually taking my hat off to bitcoin for its power leading people to think, feel and act irrationally. Unlike other types of investment vehicle, cryptocurrency is one hell of an entertainment just watching the exchanges of out-of-this-world opinions and weird ideas and one thing for sure the same phenomenon can affect even highly intelligent and educated guys (I would love to be part of that list, really).
1903  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Sending BTC from Gambling Site to Binance? on: May 31, 2019, 03:22:19 AM
Does anyone know if there is any issue with this?

Can someone here confirm if there is any issue sending btc from a sportsbook to binance?  Someone a while back mentioned there is nothing in the TOS against it.  I know with coinbase or gemini.. ppl said they would ban accounts if you send btc from gambling site to coinbase and vice versa.

Has anyone done this and if so, anyone ever had an issue with this?
Go to their site. Read their Terms of service carefully. Make sure your are not breaching any of their terms. Next go to their support.  Contact them and clarify your query. Make sure they explicitly says that depositing from gambling sites won't be an issue.
Some people might be lucky not to get caught, so don't do anything stupid based on their experience.

Better be safe than a big sorry later. Anyway, in case of doubt, the best thing to do is to send first the bitcoin to a wallet controlled by OP and maybe from there transfer it to Binance. Actually, I have not heard of anybody complaining that Binance is blocking a transaction like this. But then again, better talk to their customer support for the final answer.

1904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold forum on: May 31, 2019, 03:05:00 AM

Each has pros and cons, I just think its funny that people feel the need to bash anything be it gold, bitcoin, fiat, or desirable trading cards. If you don't like it, don't use it, just hedge your bets I guess.

That is exactly also my point. We should be happy that in our modern age, we have many choices where to invest -- be it gold, stocks, forex, real estate or also cryptocurrency. Gold has its own value and will always have a role to play in times of crisis, chaos or catastrophe...now the same thing can b said about bitcoin. So if I have the funds and I can afford it, I would go for gold, I would go for bitcoin. Good investors understand the wisdom of not putting one's eggs in just one basket.
1905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Speculation on: May 31, 2019, 02:49:41 AM
sell in May and go away!

What are your price assumptions for summer 2019?

All the traders are already fix some price changing value so once it is go down automatically it will move to USDT. So we never concentrate the future expectation at the same time everyone expecting the continuous bull run on Bitcoin. I expect this year it will reach more than 10k USD and it will reach 20k USD on end of the year we are all happy to celebrate the Bitcoin investment.

I am expected the real bull run by next year when there will be halving and who knows ETF can be approved finally. Hopefully, bitcoin can go beyond the $20,000 zone that is if nothing untoward to happen in the market as we know how unpredictable bitcoin is one day it is blowing north the next day the south. You know what I mean. Let's cross our gingers that the overall positive sentiment will carry bitcoin to the sky especially in 2020.
1906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Ethereum Showing Good Growth, Upgrades Coming on: May 31, 2019, 02:35:08 AM

Quote

Ethereum is looking at changing its entire consensus algorithm from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake in a bif to improve its performance and make it a more viable and useful blockchain. If Ethereum does pull off a good transition, there is no doubt the price will rise - so is this the preparation from the market.

There has been a lot of work put into getting Ethereum ready for its change in algorithm with the Casper Upgrade being key. However, the next move has been labeled Istanbul and is due in a few months time.

Under the current bullish mode of the cryptocurrency market, Ethereum is likewise showing a great potential for some more big upward movement as it is waiting for its coming upgrades. The Ethereum community is now building up the buzz for these changes transpiring soon on the platform. Will those innovations be the signals of the rosy future of Ethereum? Well, we are hoping so...

1908  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-31] Bundesbank: Blockchain Slow, Expensive, Not A Breakthrough on: May 30, 2019, 06:21:27 PM

The president of Bundesbank – Germany’s central bank – is not impressed by blockchain, despite the technology experiencing increased adoption in other sectors.

According to statements made in Frankfurt on May 29, Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann claimed that a trial project to integrate blockchain failed miserably.

“The blockchain solutions did not fare better in every way: the process took a bit longer and resulted in relatively high computational costs. Similar experiences have been made elsewhere in the financial sector. Despite numerous tests of blockchain-based prototypes, a real breakthrough in application is missing so far.”

So what do you think went wrong with this trial of Germany's Central Bank using the blockchain technology? Maybe the whole process was not conducted as it should be that is it failed miserably...or maybe this is just a bluff especially coming from a centralized banking organization?

1909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations in crypto market on: May 30, 2019, 05:44:51 PM
At the moment there is kind of flood of scam projects and exchanges and wallets hacking news. All these situations are creating nothing but loss of investor's money. For not having regulations, there is no authority to check the upcoming projects legit. With regulations not only investors’ confidence will increase in crypto market but will definitely attract new investors which will help increasing the entire market capitalization.
What are your thoughts on regulation topic and when to do think its possible to apply? will there be any negative effects to the market as well?

Scams are proliferating and spreading like a wildfire in cryptocurrency industry all because anybody can put up a project even a fake one, gather a team using fake profiles and then put-up a website where the crowdfunding is announced. Some scammers are excellent at what they do so they sometimes evade detection from the community. I am for the regulation of these projects to protect the interest of the investors. There should be an office that will look into the authenticity of the people behind the project and can issue an approval before any crowdfunding can be done. Hopefully, with the coming of the IEO under reputable exchanges, the chances of scams can be lessen. Just avoid participating with IEOs of doubtful and scam-filled cryptocurrency exchanges (and there are many of them).
1910  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hhampuz embezzling signature campaign funds from BestMixer on: May 30, 2019, 05:28:19 PM
I think this is the quintessential example of a flame-throw that failed. OK, so... no one is convinced over this scam accusation. I think the message has been made clear, so if the OP wants to continue to vent, and assert he's right, so be it, but no one cares.

While I appreciate the way that OP made the investigation of the whole matter, in my view, the accusation is still premature maybe we should be waiting some time and gather more facts before we can conclude with finality that Hhampuz scammed the coins from the Bestmixer campaign. I actually enjoyed reading the heated and animated exchange of opinions on this thread but for now maybe we should let this case be shelved temporarily and let's wait any move from the Bestmixer guys. Of course, this is just my opinion.
1911  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitblender inaccessible, need to withdraw savings on: May 30, 2019, 05:16:16 PM
Little bit off topic, but I'd be very wary about using any blender at the moment, I really suspect that more will be closing down eventually.
It's because Europol has been cracking down on blenders lately and charging them with money laundering.

Bestmixer has been taken down and it would be naive to think that they aren't keeping an eye on the other ones.

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/europol-shuts-down-200-million-crypto-mixing-service-bestmixer

While we don't have verified information at hand, I also believe that the closing of the Bitblender operation has something to do with the seizure of Bestmixer...maybe they are afraid to suffer the same fate and be charged in court. I just feel pity with users who were not able to withdraw any coins they left in there just like the case here with john11bitcoin. I am hoping this can be resolved soon.
1912  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Blender, anonymous bitcoin mixer on: May 30, 2019, 05:04:06 PM
He ran the mixer for over five years without major issues, I'd guess the site will come online soon to allow people to withdraw money. I sent OP a PM with a link to this thread and the other one with people complaining about not being able to withdraw their coins (he was last online ~30 hours ago).

I am sympathizing with the users of Bitblender who failed to withdraw their coins from the site. If this can never be resolved soon, this is tantamount of being scammed which can be unfortunate in all aspects. Let's hope for the best that people behind Bitblender will be finding a good way for the release of the coins left at their disposal.
1913  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitblender is shutting down on: May 30, 2019, 04:50:46 PM

I am surprised with the closure of Bitblender which I assumed is doing a brisk business. Some are speculating that this has something to do with what happened to Bestmixer. Oh well, that means that Chipmixer can be receiving a bulk of the market now for this service. I can see a gloomy prospect for this type of business as of the moment. Maybe when the dust has settled, we can see new sites offering the same service again to the market.
1914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DOGE COIN is it worth investing in it or should i look for another ALT coin? on: May 30, 2019, 04:29:22 PM
I see it go up and down every day so I'm confused!

Don't bank too much on dogecoin better focus your eyes and investments with other altcoins, of course that is aside from bitcoin. I am sure you can easily find other good alternatives just search for them. I actually have some dogecoin and I am just waiting for the right time to dispose of them.
1915  Local / Pilipinas / Re: FACT CHECK: BITCOIN - MONEY o CURRENCY? Busisiin natin... on: May 30, 2019, 04:17:36 PM

1916  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin to $10,000 soon! on: May 30, 2019, 04:04:15 PM
Ayon sa article na ito https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-price-raises-bull-flag-in-preparation-for-possible-move-higher,

Quote
A break above $8,890 would confirm a bull flag breakout and create room for a rally to $9,940
Ano sa tingin nyu kabayan, kaya ba yan this first half of the year?

Bitcoin is right now just waiting for a breakthrough...with its unspent energy building inside just a little trigger and it can go parabolic.
1917  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Overview of Philippine Cryptocurrency Exchange on: May 30, 2019, 03:52:54 PM

Just like the countries of Japan, South Korea or Singapore and even Malaysia, exchanges basing in those countries are now reaping the benefits of the global marketplace.
1918  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Pilipinas - Most Merit Receivers and Senders on: May 30, 2019, 03:41:45 PM

And then I realized di pala ako talaga aktibo dito kaya di ako kasali sa listahan. Thanks to GreatArkansas for this wonderful work.

1919  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Paylance - an alternative to Coins.ph? on: May 30, 2019, 03:13:55 PM

One thing I really appreciate with the people behind Coins.ph is they know the marketing side of things and they are attuned so much with the people and the culture of Filipinos. When you know your market well, the chances of success is increased a lot of times compared to a business that seems to be a stranger to the people it wants to serve. I just visited both paylance and coins.ph and I realized that for both buying and selling rates it is coins.ph that has the advantage. Paylance should offer better rats if they are planning to corner a good and fair share of the Filipino market.
1920  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin Rich List on: May 30, 2019, 03:04:47 PM
