Yes I don't understand the reasoning for going to such a high hash when it's not needed.  Just wastes electricity.

Someone's on the first pool with 209,640 khash/sec  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Wow.  That's a lot of mining hardware.

Now 466,399 khash/sec. Fake or real? Diff is 55 now :O

How could it be faked though?  Must be someone with a building full of ASICs.
He could be the pool owner, then it's easy to edit that info. Maybe he's kidding us xD

The difficulty is at 55 though so I don't know.

Blockchain link please?

Do you mean a seednode?  It's in the OP.
1926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN]: [Mana] : SCRYPT coin designed for mining (LOW BLOCK REWARDS+HARD TO MINE) on: August 28, 2014, 04:03:20 PM
Mana - A coin designed with mining, stability and value in mind

  • Scarce
  • Stable value
  • Slowly Mined
  • Dump resistant

Total coins: 500,000 reached in approx 85.5 yrs
Block Reward: 1 coin (24 per day, 8760 coins per year)
Block Halving: After 250,000 blocks (approx 28.5 yrs)
Difficulty Retarget: Every 5 blocks
Block time: 60 minutes
Block Maturity: 10 blocks
P2P port: 11032
RPC port: 21032
DNS seed: addnode=178.62.1.161:11032
(Note - 120 blocks instamined during testing to be used for bounties & 20 coins each for new team members.)

The aim with Mana is primarily to have a coin that is difficult and hence rewarding to mine, a currency that can be used as a store of value with deflationary characteristics.  The low block rewards and long block times are designed to prevent the devaluation that occurs as a result of mined coins being dumped on exchanges.  In addition the long block time combined with the 10 required confirmations are also designed to discourage panic selling.
If you believe in the principles of this coin then we need your help and support.  We created Mana out of frustration as miners because despite the myriad of altcoins nobody seemed to really be addressing this niche, dealing with both tight coin supply and coin production.  We are not experts and so are grateful for any and all community help.

Pools:
Solo mining only at present.
Please get in touch if you have a pool to add.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/mana_coin

Exchanges:
None at present.

We are looking for team members to provide technical assistance for further development of the wallet etc.  Please get in touch if interested.

We also need a new logo.  Once we have enough submissions we will have a community poll with a 5 MANA bounty for the winner and 1 MANA each for 2 runners up:)  I have provisionally changed to a new less garish white background logo.  It's plain but I think any change to the old logo is an improvement!

I've upgraded to the new Mac wallet.  It's synced as well but my coins still haven't arrived.

can you PM me your transaction id? I'll have a look at blockchain

Yes will do now.

Another block seems to have been found and the wallet seems to be in sync now but still no sign of my coins.

Don't worry. Sometimes the nodes don't pick up all the transactions. Give it a few blocks, and you should be getting your coins in wallet.
You should be on block 6879 as well then right?

My wallet is showing 6878 blocks.

I'll send some VAULT too if it ever gets to my wallet:  I've transferred my VAULT back from Bittrex to my own wallet but after nearly 6 hours there is still no sign of it in my wallet.  The address is correct and the withdrawal is marked as completed on Bittrex.  I have noticed that my wallet is out of sync and is not showing any change in the number of blocks since the time I sent my coins.  Is the blockchain stuck at the moment?

yes, blockchain is sometimes very slow. Hope it will improve in coming days with more nodes staking.

1933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM - @Cryptoasian Proof of Developer aka POD Scam - Paidoffs on: August 25, 2014, 09:36:27 PM
What does a known developer even accomplish?  IPOs on this forum are technically illegal securities in most countries (so the developer may end up in prison).  As well ~ how do you know the 'developer' is not an actor or worse yet just some guy who paid somebody else to fork something?

IIRC that was that voice over actor who was busted doing voice overs for multiple scam coins and he knew about it.

It only matters initially at best, after that the coin is pretty much the responsibility of the community.  The POD is there to increase trust in the initial period but nobody (unless they're really stupid) thinks that it can completely prevent scams.  Some people are shameless criminals and don't care if their name is associated with crime (assuming they didn't use aliases and fake documents). Cryptoasian is not claiming to be the FBI - he's doing a few simple checks to filter out the really shitty devs.
1934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM - @Cryptoasian Proof of Developer aka POD Scam - Paidoffs on: August 25, 2014, 09:29:30 PM

I don't trust cryptoasian. POD is a joke.
But if you can't use these two accounts to confirm what you said, it's useless.

It's not perfect but it's not a joke.  CryptoAsian is giving his services for free and helping the community.  I suppose it's to be expected that no good deed goes unpunished in the crypto world!

Will not be revealing which two coins that are verified that i paid for, due to the circumstance their quite known and of high value coins on Bittrex.

Well that's convenient.  So you expect us to believe you an unknown scam coin developer who won't reveal any information over a trusted member of the community who is donating his time for free?  LMFAO.
1936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] VAULT | NIST5 POW/POS | PARABOLIC MINING | 8/12/14 STATUS UPDATE on: August 25, 2014, 06:16:25 PM
I will donate 1 vault to whomever can turn this coin around, I suggest other bagholders to do the same..

Me too.

What's up with this coin? What help is needed?
Just compiled Mac wallet and will see how it will go with block chain sync.

If want PM me with the issues which need to be fixed and I'll see if I can help in any way

Basically the dev disappeared so we need someone else to take over.  I'm not sure how feasible it is to get control of the thread/source files but I'm sure there must be ways around it.  I'm not technically knowledgeable enough and haven't been following closely enough to know exactly what needs doing.  Maybe somebody else could fill in?

Casheer have said they'll add Britcoin to their platform:

https://twitter.com/CasheerApp/status/503670671608909824

Well done all!

Hah, you beat me to it.  Great news for BritCoin. Smiley

Btw, anyone else having problems accessing the Casheer.net website?  It doesn't work for me anymore, but it it's ok when I use kproxy.com which is strange.

They've been having issues but it seems to be working now.  Great news:)

1939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 24, 2014, 02:51:44 PM
IMO the way to make the value grow is to start building all the things that this project promises.  Obviously that needs money to be released so that should be an urgent priority.  I don't think any funds should be used to make buy walls and the like though.  This would be completely pointless and counterproductive.  Value is added through utility and function, not through price manipulation (which can only ever be a short term fix).  Putting up buy walls would be a sign of fear/uncertainty and liable to backfire.  Let's get funds released and start building real value.

I have made the decision to include Britcoin in the book called Cryptocurrency "The-Alternative" Beginner's Reference.
It will have a four page section similar to the Maxcoin section below:

Very cool! Well done:)
