1921  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: KIK's Failure to Back Down has the SEC in a Catch 22 on: May 30, 2019, 02:44:29 PM

This is actually an interesting saga which I am sure will have a long lasting repercussions on similar cases in the future. I do appreciate that KIN took a strong stand against the classification made by SEC as selling securities rather than the usual tokens. The way I am seeing the case is that this time around SEC made a bad decision...and they should repeal the classification immediately. We should continue watching on this case so that SEC should know that there people watching on their every decision that can affect the cryptocurrency and related industry.
1922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage and misaligned expectations on: May 30, 2019, 02:15:02 PM
I believe there are some people in the community who are in the standpoint that "Bitcoin isn't successful" unless they can use it for "almost-zero fee" coffee transactions. But is it truly a failure?

Should we really expect a zero-fee transactions with bitcoin? I think that it is impossible for now because every transaction has to be confirmed and each confirmation carries a cost. However, I think there is already an experiment where transaction is done P2P or from one gadget to another and the wallet is within the gadget...but I am not so sure if this can get popular. As for me, bitcoin is not successful if it is not being used or traded by the people. There is still a long story for bitcoin and I am sure that its history can last a lifetime. Judging the way it is now is not doing it justice as we are only experiencing the tip of the iceberg.
1923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The only safe haven currency is Bitcoin on: May 30, 2019, 01:58:14 PM
3) I will have to ask a general question? Why many governments are classing Bitcoin as a property & not a Currency.
They view BTC as an asset primarily and don't consider it as a currency just like majority of the investors in the cryptocurrency market which is a much better and safer option for them. We need to reverse this asap by driving adoption rates higher with time through regular developments.

Bitcoin can be classified as both asset or property and as currency because it can function both. Now, why would many governments classify it as an asset? Primarily because they can easily tax it when taken as a property even if the money function is very visible with it. They look at the bitcoin like the physical gold therefore any gains (when bitcoin rises in price) one person may have that can be subjected to tax. We are hoping though that this classification will slowly be changing as years go on.
1924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Wall Street really interested in Bitcoin? on: May 30, 2019, 01:24:37 PM
Wall street cares about bitcoin so do institutional investors. All these money entering coinmarket per day is coming from individual investors? I know you understand it just can't be individual investors, institutions must be secretly buying bitcoin, whichever way, let's guide ourselves never to loss hold of the fraction or whole that we have. I believe this market gain is going to continue upward.

Yes, of course, Wall Street cares with anything that can produce them the profits they want. With stocks now not doing fantastic, many fund managers are shifting or at least including cryptocurrency into their portfolio not just because they want to but also because their client base is asking for it. I am sure that soon this inflow of institutional money can be fully felt and can help push bitcoin to new grounds. This is hot money...they come in when things are going rosy and they can get out fast when things are not doing well. In other words, they can help push upwards but when things are getting tough they can dump fast.
1925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A Discourse In Twitter on: May 30, 2019, 01:05:51 PM
This is an interesting post in Twitter by the man named John McAfee a man who is very popular for his extravagant predictions on Bitcoin:

Quote

We don't need to be told the value of a dollar. Our awareness of value comes from knowing the dollar price of goods and services. In crypto we don't need exchanges to tell us value. The economy itself could be our guide. But first, we must use crypto as intended. Why wait? Use it.

- John McAfee

And to which someone replied:

Quote

Why wait? Let me tell you...we wait because its better to have it in your possession while it grows in value...imagine spending 1 BTC on something now that buys you $8k worth of goods but in a few years it could buy you $1m worth of goods...dont be the Bitcoin Pizza guy

- Crypt0_Cowboy

While cryptocurrency like bitcoin should be playing its role as a currency or money that we should be using with everyday purchases, the other side of the coin is always holding us...and that is where we become speculators or hodlers believing that bitcoin can soon go beyond the $20,000 zone previously achieved.

1926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins in hands of whales - should be worried? on: May 30, 2019, 12:39:38 PM
According to BlockChain24.co, over the past nine months, the crypto whales have bought 450,000 BTC. You think is it any danger in whales holding so significant amount of Bitcoins?

Yes, there is danger that is if they will unite and took one single action and that is to sell their hoard in avalanche. However, it can also go the other direction and that is when they can decide to continually hold. In a bullish market, a dip due to a big sell can be a welcome development or a big advantage but that might not be the case if the market is bearish because it can dumped the market more. In other words, what they will do can be both good or bad depending on the market situation. We all live in an open market therefore anybody can be a "whale" or hold huge amount of bitcoin at his disposal. You have the money, you can buy any number of bitcoin you may wish.
1927  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-29] Bitcoin’s ‘Toxic’ Twitter ‘Culture War’ Explained on: May 30, 2019, 11:21:43 AM

Quote
Amidst the discussion that followed came Neil Woodfine, Blockstream’s marketing director, who argued that bitcoin’s culture can seem unwelcoming partly because there are so many fraudsters in the industry trying to make a quick buck.

I think that this aspect is really true. The current bitcoin community has its share of fraudsters and scammers who are looking like very professional but in fact they are very good at hiding their main intention and that is to make fast money and run as much as possible once their greed is filled. Amidst this flurry of debates and an exchange of barbs resulting into a toxic culture, we are still hoping that eventually this will not be affecting bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. While we should welcome debates and even dissent, it should not be at the expense of the platform where we are in and not in closing doors for people to contribute to the benefit of the blockchain and cryptocurrency movement.
1928  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-30] A China Bond Sell-Off Could Send BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC To New Highs on: May 30, 2019, 11:08:10 AM

The US-China trade war may eventually spread into the US bond market, with China selling-off US Treasuries. And that could send Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Litecoin to new highs. As the US-China trade war is shifting from tariffs to technology, Bitcoin is turning into the new gold. The digital currency has gained 132.69% YTD since the beginning of the year. Other major currencies have followed suit. Meanwhile, gold has been almost flat.

China is holding huge number of US Treasuries and in case the country will soon decide to use this as a strategy to force USA to stop the pressure on China the result can be catastrophic not just for USA actually but can for the global economy. As they say, when USA catches a cold the world sneezes. Though it must cleared that this is just a speculation as China will not decide on this matter like lightning as they understood well that USA remains one of its biggest market (if not anymore the biggest) and killing this market can have spiral effect on its economy for sure. China can in fact be in a damn-if-you-do-and-don't situation. And of course, if there will be chaos in the international market, we can expect bitcoin as the new gold to play the safe haven role.
1929  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-29] Taotao: Yahoo-Backed Exchange Enters Japan Market on: May 30, 2019, 10:46:26 AM

Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Taotao is expected to go live at noon on May 30, as per the company’s official Twitter page.

Notably, the new trading platform is heavily backed by Yahoo Japan, marking the local internet giant’s arrival into the field of crypto. The timing seems to be on point, now that the market has finally shaken off the bear. But how likely is Taotao to dethrone its competitors — both current and those to come — in a complex market such as Japan?

Starting from March 2019, prospective users could sign up for a Taotao account and participate in a promotional giveaway scheme. The platform had originally planned its debut in mid-May but then postponed the launch at the last minute without explaining the reason.

Just as the bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency market can be considered to be bullish right now, many cryptocurrency exchanges of different sizes, variety and colors are all making brisk business and this is making this industry truly lucrative and competitive at the same time. Right now, I am sure that a lot of cryptocurrency exchange projects are underway, some in the drawing board and many in the crowdfunding stage. Taotao is hoping to make a good splash in the huge Japan market and plan to be a leading name in the industry. So good luck to the people behind this Yahoo-backed new player...

1930  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-29]US LocalBitcoins Trader Who Offered Fake Real Estate Gets 21-Month J on: May 30, 2019, 10:27:19 AM

Morgan Rockoons will serve 21 months in federal prison for his activities, which also included a bitcoin (BTC)-based real estate fraud scheme. Rockoons began operating an allegedly outright criminal business, “Bitcointopia,” offering land which never existed in return for bitcoin. Source.

He should really go to jail for scamming people out of their hard-earned bitcoin supposedly in exchange for land that actually only existed in his own imagination. Just because we are dealing with bitcoin or cryptocurrency is not an excuse never to know how the law of the country works. I think this information as to the license needed is already available easily to anyone. Ignorance or just being a hard-headed jerk can have big repercussions that anyone could have avoided if the guy is just using his own common sense and not relegated honesty to the background.
1931  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-30] Forbes - How Billionaires Are Buying Up Bitcoin on: May 30, 2019, 09:54:56 AM

Of course, billionaires and millionaires can easily use the services of a firm so they can get into cryptocurrency with ease and convenience. As more and more interest is bestowed into bitcoin and the rest of the cryptocurrency industry, moneyed and famous people are getting interested to stake their claims on this innovation. These people can smell money from afar like a shark to blood and I am not anymore wondering why they are putting big investments here. They have the money, the resources and all the necessary means to buy the cryptos they wanted. How I wish I am also a part of this billionaire club so that I can buy at least 100 bitcoin.
1932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc has no value on: May 30, 2019, 09:26:51 AM
Some people saying BTC has no value as is made from nothing. Those same people using money in every day life. If we look into paper money as terms of value this piece of paper is also without value and also made from nothing. If we think this way then we should be only exchanging goods like gold, stones, weapons, food. BTC, Crypto is in my opinion only next step in term of money. So we will be calling BTC money soon. It will only be huge advantage for us early adopters to get some while cheap. When btc will be replacing money in terms of salary anyone who will one 1 BTC only will benefit a lot as with price increasing people will get salary of cca. 2000 sats and 1 l of milk will cost 1 sat in the store.

Fiat money used to be really valuable when they were backed by gold or silver. Traditionally, this was the popular set-up until such time when governments started to compromise the minting of coins and slowly the value backing them eroded. In the USA, money was also backed by gold until the 70s when it was disengaged from the gold standard. Replacing the gold is just the promise of the government and the faith on the economic system of the country. When the time will come when central banks of different countries stopped using the USA dollar as the reserve currency am sure that the economy of the country will tumble and dramatically fall. Because of this background, the coming of bitcoin is a very lucky coincidence as we really need a different approach towards money...this time instead of going back to the physical gold its digital version can be utilized by anybody anytime and anywhere. Of course, the road for the mainstream adoption can be a long and winding one and there will always be many challenges along the way.
1933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why is nobody talking about Iota? on: May 30, 2019, 07:15:51 AM
IOTA biggest hype was in late 2017. From this date IOTA team made a good progress in a technical development. Many new partnerships were been announced. But still the price is on the lowest numbers, I guess that people are more careful about altcoin investments.  Smiley

IoTa remains to have a good potential for future growth and expansion. The devtem behind the coin is doing all they can to make it a big success but sometimes the market has this quirk to ignore but then maybe soon we can see and experience what IoTa has been hiding all these months. The time for IoTa to have its own version of a bull run may not be immediately right now but who knows...it must be soon. Let's help create more excitement for this coin...we can start with reading the material below:

Quote
IOTA (Internet of Things Application) is designed to provide an infrastructure to facilitate transactions between devices on the “Internet of Things”. Based on a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) known as the Tangle, IOTA aims to provide free and fast transactions throughout the network. The IOTA cryptocurrency is the native token of the IOTA platform. Its most commonly used ticker name on cryptocurrency exchanges is MIOTA, which refers to one million IOTA. If you’re thinking of buying IOTA, it’s important to first consider the factors that could impact upon the future price of this digital currency. Read on to find out what those factors are and how they could drive the value of IOTA up or down in coming months.

1934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Predicts about next Binance.Lounchpad coin? on: May 30, 2019, 06:57:06 AM
can i got info about Next Lounchpad coin?
what you think about it?  have any news?

You can directly visit the site Binance Launchpad, news about the projects they will launch will be available on the platform Binance Launchpad. Look there, because there is one project that is very feasible to consider.

I think there is not yet any announcement of the next IEO project in the Binance Launchpad after the completion of the Harmony which is a very successful run of a crowdsale. Right now, I am sure that projects are desiring to be taken into the Launchpad and there are currently many applications but of course only the best can get through. Getting into Binance Launchpad can mean more chances of success and for token investors an "almost guarantee" of return on investments (ROI). I am now looking forward for the next project to make it.
1935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is someone really behind the Bitcoin SV pump? on: May 30, 2019, 06:27:14 AM
It is at 150$ right now, when is the dump coming? Any expert pamp 'n damper available here?  Roll Eyes
$182 now and I think svers are happy now with what they are looking to this coin.
BTW at 180$ for each BSV, it is 50% more profitable for miners to mine on BSV than BTC...
Is this the probable reason why the price pumped? I don't have BSV because I know that this is just another pump and dump coin, I'm expecting it to dump anytime now.

That is also a big possibility because dumping is always done in this market but maybe there is really something solid with BSV...maybe CSW will soon have a big laugh and may enjoy some vindication here. This is actually an exciting thing to watch...let's see if BSV can hold to its gains days and weeks from now as it seems to be pulled up by the bullish bitcoin the same way with Ethereum and other top alts. I am wondering if the bitcoin community will be changing its stance on CSW once BSV will soar to the "moon".

1937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar XLM on: May 30, 2019, 06:01:48 AM
Is it a bad idea with this airdrop ? Stellar is now less attractive?
Judging with it, I don't think it's really bad at all. Many have enjoyed the airdrop and got that worth $25 of stellar during the lows so right now they got more than $25 if they remain holding it. Ranking at #9 in overall crypto's, I don't think it's less attractive. Daily volume is $400M so I think there's still plenty of people who are interested on it.

Those are actually good figures. I don't have XLM in my portfolio but I am taking a second at this now...let's see if this can have good potential left on its sleeves just waiting for the right time to show up. I am hoping the team behind Stellar will continually introduce innovations to the platform and secure many solid partnerships. As always, adoption is the key and is truly necessary to survive in this highly competitive cryptocurrency climate.
1938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Kakao Talk to use Theta Fuel. Expect a decent rise over the coming days. on: May 30, 2019, 05:50:06 AM
I have seen this news and immediately the price of THETA has increased by more than 15%. Kakao Talk really affects the altcoins very much and this is really a great partner. Anyway, I couldn't buy THETA at a good price. I can only wait for the next price increase. Smiley

This is my first to hear about the THETA coin and when I searched on that in CMC yes it really jumped a good 16% must be due to the news that it is to be adopted by the Kakao Talk's blockchain platform. Such is the power of a platform when they adopt a cryptocurrency into its ecosystem. Congrats to holders of the THETA am sure this is just the start of its rise (price and popularity).

1939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / XRP Price Upsurge Soon: $10 Target Foreseeable on: May 30, 2019, 05:34:13 AM

Quote

David Gokhshtein Is Optimistic About the Imminent Price Surge of Ripple XRP

David Gokhshtein, a popular cryptocurrency analyst and presumed XRP investor has recently displayed his optimism on a possible significant price surge of Ripple’s XRP that should be expected at no distant time.

Gokhshtein opined in one of recent tweets that XRP is quite close to its notable price surge. He said other alternative coins will also advance to the top in the same trend.

Further Read:  https://todaysgazette.com/david-gokhshtein-ripple-xrp-few-weeks-away-obvious-price-upsurge-10-foreseeable-target/

I know that there can be many eyebrows to rise with this prediction by David Gokhshtein on Ripple which is actually showing some good signs of moving upwards these days. Personally, I am enjoying reading and watching people make their very positive predictions on any coin but I am always more inclined to be conservative as these can just be hypes intended for us to feel the FOMO phenomenon. I am holding some XRP too, by the way.

At the $10 price range, XRP will have a marketcap of  $421,166,776,730 based on the circulating supply of 42,116,677,673 XRP.

What is your opinion on this statement coming from David...will XRP become the Goliath the man wish it to be or will its growth just enough to make us smile and be contented?

1940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin halvening price speculation? on: May 30, 2019, 05:23:15 AM
i think litecoin is not relevent anymore as an investment especially after the emergence of alternative to it such bitcoin cash and bitcoin cash satochi vision as a play ground for future bitcoin protocol improvement
I don't think so, Litecoin supporters are still there and if you are observing how the project performed this year, it gives a high appraisal and profits to those who bought and hold it after being dumped down to its bottom, known alts will still move forward as bitcoin still getting more investors both new and old ones which can also be reflected to LTC value. LTC halving will lift the value of this coin to pumped up, OP's target is really achievable just hold and wait.

I have been observing this coin for months and I was not surprised that it slowly (I mean not as dramatic as BTC) when the current bullish movement started. I think this has the potential for more upward growth especially near and after the halving. As I already included Litecoin in my small crypto portfolio, I am also looking for regular updates and developments of this cryptocurrency...
