1941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only on: February 05, 2014, 10:40:34 PM
Hi there
What do you think about this new exchange Allcoin.com?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450306.0
I like the design of the website and market.
I proposed to add PMC (#4).
Why not give it a try?
It's maybe easy to get PMC there if some of you reply to it.

I am very very cautious of new exchanges. I do not want to see people's PMC vanishing. Honestly? I would say we need to avoid new exchanges like the plague. Freshmarket is relatively new and it's already been hacked. Might not ever return. Poloniex seems like a good exchange, and it's not so new that it feels like a risk.

But a brand new exchange? Please no. We're a young coin. We don't need that sort of risk. The exchanges will come to us, in time. Right now we don't need to be in any mad rush attempt to get on any exchange that pops up. Premine is doing well.

Does OnionCoin have Secure Socket Layers?

*gets coat*
1943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Catcoin - NEW THREAD - FORK INCOMING AT BLOCK 21346 - Scrypt MEOW! on: February 05, 2014, 10:35:16 PM
FYI, I'm pretty sure I was one of the very first to propose KGW in the original thread. I was proposing it some time before the second fork.

All of this technical data is great, but it feels like the joy's been sucked out of the room. Catcoin was fun when it started. Bring that back, and I'm on board.
1944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 05, 2014, 10:32:26 PM
If the devs or Max himself expects to make money from their coin, then their dev team can at least have the decency to update the first post or make a post here in the thread.

They can't act is if we're just along for the ride. This community could make or break Maxcoin. They should show a little respect. I don't blame them for delaying the launch, but the way they're distancing themselves from the community is disappointing. As if we do not matter?

FAKEEEEEEEEEEE

At least you can mine it.  Cheesy
1946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 05, 2014, 10:12:53 PM
This thread is an "ignore button bonanza" and a scary reminder of just how many useless eaters there are out there in this small world.

I sense no irony whatsoever in this post.  Grin

We need a Max Keiser too Tongue

Pfft. Keep Max away from Premine. Constant 404s. Cheesy
1948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 05, 2014, 10:08:28 PM
Thanks MaxFail coin for this great afternoon  Undecided

The 404s caused the launch to fail. Not them.

of course it was the 404 (502)s. That lasted 10 minutes, it took them 3 hours to tell us they are changing it to tomorrow. People would be less angry if they didn't leave a thousand people hanging for 3 hours.

Well in all fairness they kept their twitter feed updated, and it appeared like they were waiting for it to calm down. I agree they should have expected this, but it's not like they left everyone hanging.

This thread has it all. Wish I brought popcorn.
1951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 05, 2014, 08:45:08 PM
You are all naive sheep, sitting here waiting for the Wallet and Miner to be released.  The coin is already being premined by Max Keiser's botnets and has been for a few hours now!!!!  Go sign up at http://max.minecrypto.net/ . You will see that the network hashrate is already past 80GHs and the difficulty is already 1080.  I have been monitoring it. And it has been this way for more than an hour!!! Yes! So they are rape-mining with their botnets. If this is not a PreMine, I don't know what is.

Did you really think that Max Keiser was gonna pump this coin without reserving the first tens of millions of coins for himself?

'spose you'll delete this when it becomes clear you're a moron

not if we keep quoting it, then everyone will know he is a moron.

Nullu's got you covered.  Cool
1952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 05, 2014, 07:57:53 PM

Yep. It's going to be delayed. Great. I'm off to do some work.

Stop F5ing. You're just delaying the launch.  Cheesy

Remake the whole coin, change the name, the logo, increase mining years from 3 to 5-6, instead of "halving" give it 1/3 of current block reward and there you have a good coin. While you are at it throw in some kind of purpose it can have Smiley

That is what I would have done.

How would this have made the coin any better? You're basically saying: you'd have made a completely different coin.

We all would have. That's kind of the point.  Wink

DEVS,

please release the source 5 minutes earlier than binaries to give linux users fair start

thanks

A fair start would be releasing every major wallet at the same time, not releasing the source so a select few can get a headstart on compiling the wallet.
1959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 05, 2014, 04:47:08 PM
LOL this seems like another type of premine. The developers already have adopted their cgminer/gpu miners to mine this. They probably have 100s (if not 1000s) of systems ready to go while the rest of the masses will be stumbling along with the lousy inefficient client.

They catered to the whiney CPU miners which have no stake in alt coin hashrate. And in turn make the criminal botnets majority holders of Maxcoin.

This had to be the plan from the start. No dev is this clueless/incompetent.

If you want a coin to have mass market appeal, then being able to mine it on normal commercial hardware is important. Don't see how "botnets" are any different from GPU farms or ASICs. You can make this argument for any coin. I'm not convinced it's the massive problem people make it out to be. Unless you have some sources.

Block Rewarder Status: Live
Block Rewarder Pot: 100 PMC
Time: 5 Seconds (minimum) between Payouts
Block Reward: Minimum 0.01000000, Maximum: ? ? ? (Previous Max reward: 0.41014965)
Block Rewards per block 1x, 2x, 3x
Block Explorer Payout Address: Link

First block reward just went out; 0.3000006.

Going to be a lot higher this time it seems. Network is imposing additional transaction fees.

Where can I donate to your rewarder?

I'll post another update tonight and include the link directly to the blockrewarder. I've not ran into any problems with the wallet since putting in the 1 PMC txfee buffer, so I will probably up the max coins it holds from 100 PMC to 200 PMC.

I'll post the direct link later, but if you prefer you can send it to the address in my sig and I'll top the Block Rewarder up with it tonight. Whichever is easiest.  Smiley

Edit: Ah, the block rewarder address is 1CUWaAoF1pPthNqzudZBaM38LgzyeQ4JiV. There's a link to it in my post.
