I'm on the board of your coins! how to produce this coin? except for exchange.

Great to have you onboard. Welcome to the EverGreenCoin community. You ask a good question, thank you. There is several ways you can acquire EGC. The first obvious way, as you mentioned, is buying at an exchange. I would suggest if you choose this route, look at the sell orders on all the exchanges first so you can get the most "bang for your buck". Wink

A second method of gaining yourself some EverGreenCoin is by Proof of Work mining. In Proof of Work mining, you help process and verify EverGreenCoin transactions and help maintain the EGC blockchain. Modern GPU's (video cards) are very efficient at doing this because they can do the mathmatics involved very quickly. CPU's also can PoW mine but do so at a much less efficient rate. If your computer is equiped with a modern GPU, you surly want to look at this route.

A third method is selling a good or service for EverGreenCoin. If you have, for example, unused electronics that you would be willing to part ways with in exchange for an amount of EGC, you can list it on a marketplace or advertise something here in the thread. If you have a skill that you can sell your service for is another option.

A forth method is visiting a faucet. Please see the original post for a list.

No matter which way you choose to obtain your EGC, you will want to be sure to hold them in an unlocked (for staking or for staking and spending) wallet so you collect the 7% interest on them. Read here in the thread as I have just elaborated on staking and the proper way to stake your EverGreenCoin.

I hope I have have given you sufficent ways to start your EGC wealth. Smiley Thanks for the question.

A fifth method would be the bounties that are posted on the original post.

There is unlimited maximum staking age with EverGreenCoin. This means there is no end to how long you can collect the 7% from PoS. PoW mining will end in approximatly 5 months from now.

How is it possible to unlimit stake coins? The coins have a limit (13Mio)? Maybe i just do not understand what that PoS collecting is.

Thanks for all the fast replies so far.

The limit of 13 million that you speak of is the projected number of coins that will be produced from PoW mining. On top of this number is the 7% people will collect from PoS. This number of EGC from PoS can not be projected as the variables are too many. The number of coins activly being staked can fluctuate a lot at any given time.

It does sound like you are on the right path of understanding. Don't get frustrated as it is very complex with many variables playing into effect.

Thanks for the good question. I am sure you are not the only one that has wondered the same. I hope my answer provides a better understanding.

How long will the "mining" "staking" be active probably?

As a suggestion, I would put an Impressum / Disclaimer and more informations on to the website.
Because its a business website, this is really important.

More trust = more interested people in this coin.

Greetings.

There is unlimited maximum staking age with EverGreenCoin. This means there is no end to how long you can collect the 7% from PoS. PoW mining will end in approximatly 5 months from now.

Thank you for the suggestion on the website. A revamp of the website is activly be worked on. I will definatly consider and follow this suggestion in doing so.

I do strongly agree with your opinion on trust also. I hope yourself and others do find myself and my team trustworthy as we do hold integrity, professionalism, transparency, and accountability to the highest standards.

Thank you for your question Porsche911. I hope I have answered it clearly and, thank you for your suggestion.

is it fruitfull to buy around 2100 Huh

Yep. You'll find it leaps in value on wednesday when ccex lists it. Buy up at whatever the rate is.

It's going for 2900 on cryptopia.co.nz too
Woop!

It's just dropped to below 2000 on cryptopia.co.nz

Well, you know how to solve that. Wink

So with 10.000 coins stacked, you get about 2 coins a day (interest)?

How to set this up Smiley And is there a backup posibility?

Yes, your projection is accurate. (1(decimal point)91780821... per day by my math.)

See my above message to set this up properly.

To backup, simply keep a copy of your wallet.dat file in a safe place. Your wallet.dat file can be found on Windows within %APPDATA%\EverGreenCoin\ or otherwise stated, C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\EverGreenCoin\
On Mac OS X it can be found within /Users/YOUR USERNAME HERE/Library/Application Support/EverGreenCoin/
on Linux it can be found within ~/.evergreencoin/ or otherwise stated, /home/YOUR USERNAME HERE/.evergreencoin/

In the event your current computer becomes none functional, your wallet.dat file could be used on your replacement computer. Storing your private key in a safe location is another way to achieve this safety and has a similar recovery method but, making a copy of the wallet.dat is slightly easier.

I hope that clears it up for you, Porsche911!

p.s. I love your car. Wink

Since im new to Crypto currencies. What is staking? If its mining the coin i would like to join.

What is the best practise?

At the moment i have 15k Smiley

Staking is essentially a form of "mining". It is how Proof of Stake coins run their blockchains. Instead of mining, using GPU's to hash out an algorithm, we instead use our wallets to uphold the ledger. By leaving coins in your wallet for over 24hrs and leaving your wallet open, you start to grow interest on the coins in your wallet. You earn 7% annually on whatever is in your wallet. When you earn coins, by staking, is dependent on your weight in the blockchain network. The higher the weight, the faster your wallet will stake.

Proof of Stake is mining, yes. When staking, you do process translations, you do verify the blockchain, and you are rewarded for doing so. Unlike Proof of Work mining, your reward can be and is guaranteed so long as you meet the requirements for staking. One requirement is meeting minimum staking age. Minimum staking age for EGC is 24 hours. Coin age does not accrue until after coin maturity. Your wallet does not need to be running for coin age to increase.

Another requirement is that your wallet not be fully locked. If you never encrypted your wallet, your wallet can not be locked and you can disregard this requirement. It is the best and safest practice that you do encrypt your wallet (Settings > Encrypt Wallet). After the wallet encryption process, you will need to unlock the wallet for staking to take place. When you unlock the wallet you will notice a check box in the password dialog window that allows you to either A) unlock for staking only (checked, default), or B) unlock for spending and staking (unchecked). If you unlock for staking only you will be prompted for the password again if you try to send. This is just an added layer of security so that coins do not get accidentally sent and is a safe measure to follow.

In simple words, just hold the coins in a running and unlocked wallet. You will collect payments towards your 7% annual reward. There is no maximum staking age for EGC. You will collect so long as you hold coins in a unlocked (for staking only or for staking and spending) wallet.

Your weight versus the network weight only determines the frequency of payments towards the 7% but, it will always be 7% no matter how low or high your weight is.

I hope that answers your questions clearly and accurately, Porsche911!

Price is 2200 satoshis on YoBit

My big mistake was sell my EGC when the price was 1300 satoshi

The revolution is coming

You still have the chance to buy in. We at the EGC team think the price of the coin is still sitting low. With only 13 million coins getting mined in the PoW phase, it's a rare coin. We have one of the fastest transaction speeds on the market. It's secure. Our roadmap has several excellent projects in the near future.

We're very proud of our coin. Smiley

Bought 12k @1200-1500 Cheesy
8k "not for sale" Smiley

Be sure to get that 8k staking as soon as possible. Wink

Check this

Nice work, again, Anoona!
Let me quote it so everyone can check it! Wink

Thanks, again!

FYI, anyone can help us expedite the use of signage like this by submitting a coin request to CoinPayment.net or by talking to any crypto-friendly merchants. Thank you in advance for any contribution to this effort!

This is starting to blow up. Glad I've mined a lot of it in the last 6 weeks.

Not selling any of it anytime soon though.

Only 5 weeks since launch. Wink But yes, we are starting to see the fruits of our labor. You are right, selling now might be greatly regretted in another 5 weeks of growth.

Seems like you are skyrocketing soon. Whats the reason?

Not certain of the reason. But it is great to see. Cheesy

Could the solar miner be the reason? Smiley))

I am sure that is one of the many reasons. Many reasons all stemming from the hard work of both the team and the community.

Let's keep growing in this direction!

1975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solar Powered Miner : From the EverGreenCoin Team on: January 29, 2016, 07:44:34 AM
We looked at Solar, but the cost of running a Pi was so cheap that it wasnt cost effective, not that it cant be done

We have a running version of the Pi and we run a WebUI that is Open Source (modified for our usage), so feel free to look at the software

I think your idea is fantastic and a complimentary step forward, so feel free to use what you need from us and if we can help your project, just let us know Smiley

Our Pi being tested - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLw0lLQDOhI

We are now developing a custom mini printer, fingerprint reader, scanner for our Pi, which we have named the RimbitPi and we would be happy to share what we can with you, for your coin.

I will upload the Open Source software (over the weekend), that we used to construct our WebUI into our "Resources" area on our forum and please use whatever you need from it Smiley

Hi rimbit! We do realize that the electrical cost savings will by no means cover a mortgage payment or perhaps even a meal once a month. It is not really intended as "cost saver" device as much as it is a "free resource utilizer" device harnessing the sun's power. That said, as opposed to leaving a computer on 24/7 for the sole purpose of staking, it could be a cost saver in that scenario also.

Your project looks very promising and a similar direction I have been trying to push our project and my team's vision for it. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your code and your enthusiasm for our project. I am sure your work will give us a much needed jump closer to production of the EverGreenCoin Solar Miner. Smiley

Nice idea.  Do it!  And let's hope other projects pick up on the idea and goes green.

Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for the project! Smiley It is very welcome motivation.

We have reworded the introduction on the op. Let us know how you think it sounds, if you wish.

Introduction
EverGreenCoin is a currency designed from the ground up not only to be an environmentally friendly currency but, an environmental movement and paradigm shift. With both the electrically and computationally efficient and secure algorithm of X15 Proof of Work and it's generously rewarding 7% Proof of Stake the foundation has been set. On top of that foundation we leverage renewable energy in ways our planet has never seen. EverGreenCoin is turning the mining and crypto currency industry on its head. From an industry that wastes electricity in the grandest scale, and in-turn our planet's finite precious resources lost forever to produce that electricity, to a profitable and prosperous endeavor for both our planet and it's people. Back-feeding the grid it had once robed. Then those profits are invested into the environment through environmental restoration projects such as forestry and wildlife rehabilitation. EverGreenCoin will make both our planet's environment and economy better than it was found.

1979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solar Powered Miner : From the EverGreenCoin Team on: January 29, 2016, 05:26:35 AM
I like the idea and I like EGC but I wouldn't call staking mining.

EGC have limited POW blocks, so after some this staking will be the only mining method. Anyway, building such effective staking machines is a good idea.

Yes, the device will be PoS mining, not PoW mining. And yes, technically staking is a form of mining as transactions are processed, the blockchain is verified, and rewards are given for doing so. We label it "EverGreenCoin Solar Miner" not "solar staker" because we feel non-technical, non-crypto people might sooner unerstand mining than staking. Mining is a bit older terminology that average people might have heard of and at least understand it as "gaining".

Glad to hear you agree it is a good idea.
1980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EGC] EverGreenCoin | X15 PoW/PoS | NO premine / NO ICO | Foundation on: January 29, 2016, 12:16:24 AM
Some bounties have been added to the bottom of the ANN OP. Additional ones may be added soon. These bounties will be payed by the team or the foundation. Specifically with the ANN translations bounties, please contact me prior so I can verify for you that someone else has not already started or finished the language you wish to translate to.

Thank you! Gracias! Merci! Danke! Grazie! Dziękuję! Tack! Diolch! Спасибо! Obrigado! ありがとう! Dank u! 謝謝! 谢谢! Cảm ơn bạn! ขอบคุณ! ect., ect. Smiley

The bounty for translating and maintaining the translated thread has been set to 150 EGC per language. So far, the Spanish translation has been posted. The Czech translation has been spoken for but, will not be posted until this weekend. The French translation is tentatively spoken for unless a native French speaker would care to do so prior to this weekend.

Thanks for your help as we spread the word of EGC around the globe. After all, we are all in this together. Smiley

Romanian will soon be available:)

Good to know! Please send me a link along with your EGC address for payment when you have it completed. I want to provide links to the various translations atop this ANN as I have done with Espaņol. Also please provide a link to this original English ANN OP and the Espaņol atop the Romanian one. Similar to what has been done with the Spanish one. I am aware the Espaņol ANN one does incorrectly point back to itself instead of this English one as it should. I have contacted the translator to fix this. But I think it demonstrates the logic I am trying to achieve. I want to do this across all the languages, adding the new ones as they become available, as I think it will convey unity very nicely.

Don't hesitate to ask if you need help or my instructions need further elaboration.

vă mulţumesc!
