I can confirm that just leaving it alone for a while, it found peers to connect to. Not sure why it lost the connection to begin with, though. It's been connected, ever since I updated to the newest version.

Does anyone have an updated seed list? My wallet went offline this morning and has 0 active connections. Btw, I'm really happy to see how far the community has come in such a short period of time.
-Clay Hi Clay! A list of seeds is not needed. The seednodes are built into the wallet. If you have old nodes in your conf file, it is best to remove them and discover peers from the seednodes. Have you upgraded to version 1.3 ? If not, you do need to do so as older wallets are now obsolete and will not function properly. If you have upgraded and still have 0 connections, I would suggest closing the wallet, deleting the peers.dat file, and then relaunching the wallet. Be patient, it will discover peers. |

Hello everyone! I have returned from my journey. Many thanks to everyone for being the helpful community you always are in my absence.
Frostminer, sorry I have been away with spotty cellular service during this issue you are experiencing. This does seem to be an odd occurrence for the code you have raised. I have had to regroup coins many, many times with the foundation's wallet, for the same heavy load on the wallet you have cited, and never seen coins go immature after being confirmed. When I do this, I send the coins to an actual different wallet, not just a new address in the same wallet. This cleans up the inputs.
As far as gaining more stake weight, therefor increasing the frequency of your PoS installments, coin age, measured in days, is the biggest factor. For this reason it is often times best not to regroup unless you can do so before the coins acquire much age because the age is reset to zero days when moved. I do realize you felt regrouping the coins was needed for wallet performance Frostminer, I just wanted to make that point known. But yes, after doing so your stake weight would be greatly reduced because all accumulated coin age, the biggest factor, is lost and reset to zero days. Of course, coins would be immature from moving, to an address of the same wallet or different, until confirmed but then they should never be immature until moved again. You would need to surpass the 24 hour minimum stake age before they start staking after moving coins.
At this time, if you still are experiencing this very odd issue frostminer, I would suggest moving the coins to a completely new wallet.dat file.

I am very proud, to say the least, to have come through with the promises that we would make it through and better days lay ahead. It is often darkest just before the sun rises, and this is just the dawn. Many gears are turning below the surface, community members. Many supporters from around the globe are contacting me and wanting to and are contributing in their own ways. Over the next several weeks, you will be seeing the fruits of these labors, and I do mean a cornucopia of fruit. I am quite happy to just let my coins stake for now. There are many things going on below the surface. Some of which no coin has done. Some things do demand secrecy but details would cetainly be revealed when appropriate. Rest assured, I am working to make both your investment in EverGreenCoin a profitable one and EverGreenCoin not only popular, but famous and not just in the crypto scene. You will start collecting your PoS rewards in about 24 hours. Be sure to have your wallet unlocked, if you encrypted it, to collect PoS rewards. You should do this, leaving it open for a few hours, at minimal of once every 30 days to make sure you get the full 7% annual. My C.H.I.P. experiments haven't gone much further yet, I did try the block chain but couldn't get it to sync, I've just started it downloading the complete block chain so I'll see how that goes (based on my Pi experience I'm expecting around 24 hours. I did also run the C.H.I.P from it's 3000mAh battery earlier and had it going for 4 hours whilst travelling, I'm not sure how discharged the battery was in that time, (I've seen some reports of 8-10 hours). Once I've got the block chain downloaded I'll do a decent battery test.
And it's got the whole block chain, I think that was just under 24 hours to complete so not too bad. I've also managed to transfer my coins from my Pi2 wallet to the CHIP and back again (leaving a few behind to test staking) so it seems to be working. Now to work out what other tests are useful in seeing how well it works. Great! Thanks for keeping us in the loop! I am still waiting for my CHIP. :/ |

Yes, importing the blockchain is intensive. Snapshotting is much faster. There is a recent snapshot in the OP should anyone need it. (Thanks again CryptoChainer!)
Yes, a package is what we will certainly want when we are cranking these out on a production level.
If you do find time to test on your CHIP, I would greatly appreciate it. If you do or whenever you can, please share your results. At this time, I personally only have a Pi emulator to experiment with.
Whoot! It compiled (I had to add a swap file on a USB stick for the compilation but that's not a huge issue). I'm just compiling again with a clean git clone to see how long it takes. I've got the block chain snapshot (Thanks CryptoChainer) and I'll hopefully fire it up a bit later (I plan to remove the swap first), and see how it goes. At some point (probably next week I'll try running the setup from a battery only and see how long it lasts, that will hopefully give a decent idea of it's power draw. Hopefully with a few of us using the likes of Pi, Pine64 and C.H.I.P we can get a feel for how well these boards work. Edit: the compile took 70 minutes. Thank you for reporting the success! |
