I can't get the marketplace to work on my (mac) wallet.  Can anyone confirm that it is functional?  I can see the offers but whenever I try to buy anything I get an error even though I have unlocked my wallet temporarily:

Quote
Error paying for offer: "offerpay <rand> [<accepttxid>] <message>
Pay for a confirmed accepted offer.
<rand> randkey from offeraccept txn.
<accepttxid> offeraccept txn id, if daemon restarted.
<message> payment message to seller, 16 KB max.

requires wallet passphrase to be set with walletpassphrase first"

Dev.  have you heard of the Casheer payment app?  If you post a UNAT article on their forum and enough people respond to show support they will add UNAT to their app too.  Check out the details on Casheer here:

Guys I can't emphasise enough how important it is to show your support for Britcoin on the CASHEER forum.  This app would be huge for Britcoin so please take a few minutes to register, post and invest the time to help your investment in Britcoin grow:

OK to get on Casheer we need to post to their forums (see link).  They will be adding more coins on a weekly basis depending on community support so please register on their forums and add Brit - it is worth the few minutes it will take as this is the only way they add coins and as time goes on it will get harder to be added.

Will this fork affect me if I haven't had time to load my private key into my wallet?

No but wait until the fork has occurred and you are synced on the right fork before importing it.  Technically it shouldn't matter either way but why take the risk when you can't actually do anything with your coins until then anyway.
1993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 18, 2014, 10:03:32 PM

Hello. Please excuse my ignorance, quite new at this, don't have experience w/ wallets, mostly hold coins on exchanges for trading.

What is the procedure w/ this new fork for those with coins in wallets?

Do we have to download wallets again?

And if so how do we protect our coins? Export a backup and import it into the new wallet?

Will we have to input nodes again manually or will the new wallet be ready to go?

Any help/guidance is much appreciated.

Still have faith in Sys, want to see it succeed.

You keep your wallet.dat file (which should be backed up) and delete everything else in the folder before installing the new wallet (+/- a new .conf file with specific nodes if it is required).   The coins are not affected.

Nice little explanation of Dogeparty from here: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/30086/what-is-the-incentive-behind-using-platforms-such-as-xdp-dogeparty

Quote
What is the incentive behind using platforms such as XDP/Dogeparty?

ELI5: What can one do with XDP that s/he cannot do with DOGE? Is Dogeparty similar to projects such as Ethereum/Ripple?
If I understand correctly one receives 1 XDP/1000 DOGE "burned". How are these DOGE 'destroyed'? And where does one go from there in using their newly acquired XDP?

The DOGE are "destroyed" by sending to them to an address for which no one knows the private key. The address is DDogepartyxxxxxx... which is clearly human-generated. Calculating the corresponding private key is equivalent to breaking Elliptic Curve encryption (and if someone can do that, the whole bitcoin ecosystem comes crashing down in flames -- because they could compromise any and all accounts, not just this one).

Once XDP is created, there will be an XDP/DOGE market on DogeParty, just as there is an XCP/BTC market on Counterparty. Using this decentralized exchange, you will be able to trade your XDP back for DOGE if you desire. (This feature is currently disabled in DogeParty but will be re-enabled soon)

DogeParty/CounterParty is considerably more powerful than the underlying currency. It has an internal, decentralized market for tokens. You can issue dividends. You can place bets and broadcast information. For more, read about CounterParty. (The DogeParty code is identical, save for renaming BTC -> DOGE and changing the burn formula slightly)

Just a few points that may be of interest to the team:

1) Blockchain.info type app for Britcoin
I was speaking to Keonne  (@keonne) from Blockchain.info a while back and he told me that the software for Blockchain.info is open source and freely available so could easily be made to work for Britcoin.  In fact coming from the UK himself he's taken an interest in Britcoin so I'm sure he would be willing to answer any questions the team might have about doing this.  This would really be a killer application for Britcoin.

https://blockchain.info/about

2) DogeParty and Counterparty - Financial Services/Assets on the blockchain
I've also been messing around a bit with DogeParty/Counterparty and love the idea of it.  This could be another feature that could without too much difficulty be added to Britcoin allowing further applications and assets to be implemented using Britcoin.

3) Related Services/Strategy/Promotion
It might also be looking into the services of some of these companies that are involved with Dogeparty and the creators of Dogeparty:

4) Casheer App
This is an awesome payment app with altcoin integration amongst other things.  It includes a lot of amazing stuff - best to check it out in the link because there is too much info to put here:

Our agreement was in relation to an "all or nothing" scenario.

Either the developers release a working platform and get the coins, or they don't and investors get refunded. We have now moved in to the arbitration window of our agreement, and have imposed a 48 hour deadline to resolve the current problems. Had they released nothing before now, they would not have this window, the agreement would have been voided before now. The issues occurred after launch, and that is why they have an extension.

What if the people asking for refunds are less than the ones willing to wait for the devs to resolve issues past the 48 hours?

In that scenario, we would have to seek legal counsel (and are planning to do so tomorrow) to see if the agreement can be amended while active, to allow for a partial refund policy based on investor demand.

Just burn the refunded coins in that situation.  That would bring the coin back to life fast.

Would be good to have merged mining with Bitmark and VIA.

If you don't have faith, just dump your coins. Plenty of buyers willing to get in on below IPO prices.

We don't all sleep on a bed of money!

I just want to send my coins back to my wallet anyway.  The main problem now is that even if they do deliver confidence in SYS has been wounded so much that it might be beyond repair.  People that previously intended to hold their coins will be adding to those who just planned to sell all along because they might not see any future for SYS.  Also I had intended to slowly increase my SYS holdings by selling off on peaks and buying back on dips - I've done that successfully with other coins.  Unfortunately the uncertainty with its future makes me very unlikely to do this.
