21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Input / output transaction related question on: January 24, 2018, 10:37:03 PM
That is possible but you still have to pay the tx fee. So what you are trying to achieve is pointless IMO.

Well maybe not pointless if I know for instance that I would not use my coins for longer period of time so I put lower fee now when mempool is relatively low, in future if it raises I'd had bigger chance to transfer my coins faster? Or I am missing something?

Thank you for your answer!

That's true. In that case using new address will have the very same result (I thought you think you will just merge them without having to pay the fee).

Hey so I've got mine hooked up and boards 1 & 2 are runnning fine, but board 3 is not hashing anything.. Someone told me to flash the firmware but I don't see the A3 firmware up on Bitmains site. Any ideas? I've tried resetting it twice now. Tip for who can!!!

It was some kind of brick test that someone did. And they succeeded.

They're allowing us to mine again for now. Just reboot your A3

do you have some sources?

Read my reply few posts above.

I'll make double post but only because there is too much threads about A3s

https://twitter.com/SiaStats/status/956227452015120384

This happens when people not aware what decentralization is gets powerful machines.

Don't be profit hungry and switch to smaller pools otherwise you ruin entire network.

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: January 24, 2018, 03:08:20 PM
Have a question, please  Smiley

I am running on coinmine with SEVEN D3 miners for 2 monthes already, and I earn approx. 0.05 Dash per day.

On another pool I earn 2 times(!) more with SIX  D3s - approx. 0.1 Dash/day.

Why is it so?

than keep mining on the "another pool"  Smiley
Can't  do so Cheesy   My miners are sitting in two different hosting facilities, and they are not willing to change once connected pools.

Did the (worse) pool required you to setup specific worker? Maybe you you can try to change the worker name or pass so it will be invalid and miner will switch to backup pool (if you set it as well).

I connected my D3 to miningrentals .. great feature is I can add new pools and switch to them without need to contact hosting provider.

Why it's always about trust. Why do you (and almost every newbie) care about it so much? Do you plan to open business here? If so then red trust for bad english should not bother you as it has no impact at all.

Here's my stance on the subject.
I suspect the reason is red trust prevents users from selling their account or participating in sig. camps. ... which both are bad habits (out of control and ruining the forum). Personally would ban both if that would be possible. Unfortunately it's not thus community found it's own way how to clear the forum.

a) I don't give 2 shits about trust. I'll do my own thing, and you can tag me as you like. I rip off nobody, and I mind my own business.

b) Appoint new moderators then. This forum is tackling this in the wrong way.

FYI: Your english is not 100% perfect. Be careful of The Pharmacist! He's DT2, you know!!!!

/s

If you don't care then why are you complaining?
I know my english is bad but I don't care about trust given for wrong spelling as long as there will be relevant comment why i was tagged. Mainly because I'm not interested in sig. camps./bounties and similar crap.
For me it's important to avoid being tagged as scammer.

Dude, you really need to read what I wrote.

I, personally, don't care if The Pharmacist or any of DT1 or DT2 decide to take revenge on me (well, this account, not me lol) for my posts against this crap. But I feel someone needs to speak out against the blatant bullying that's going on.

We'll end up with no new members, because it's too dangerous to come here and say "Hello, I'm new".

This is not what the community is about.

I added a "/s" tag to my comment about your English. I made a mistake here in not realising that this isn't universal - it means "sarcastic". Let me clarify what I meant.

There's nothing wrong with your English - it's absolutely fine.

But people whose English is as good as yours are being tagged as scammers by bullies who think that this is a good enough reason. And it is NOT. As you said, content is the important part. They are not reading that though. The Pharmacist is now power-mad, tagging because people don't speak as well as him (and he does not speak that well - check his post history).

Also, why do you say you are not interested in sig campaigns when you have a gigantic sig? If it's your business, that's fine. But if it's not, I don't understand your comment.

I feel we won't find consensus in our opinions.

Specifically the "Hello, I'm new" is against forum rules (useless introduction). Problem is newcomers does not read them (frankly I was very same, broke the rules in past multiple times  ... but lessons learned).

I read some Pharmacist feedback and have to say I don't agree with all but it's his point of view and he's free to share it. If tagged user takes it personally that's his problem.
DT1 or DT2 not much matter indeed. Important is the reason. There is plenty positive trust given by DT1 ( giving those people glorious green numbers ) which has no relevant reason (e.g. bought from me something ... etc.) Such trust is useless and we need to distinguish it (same applies for bad feedback).

My sig. is different because I'm not forced to make xx posts per week or w/e. That's what I think is wrong.

Yep, nVidia is not much for ETH mining ... check https://whattomine.com/ to find coins suitable for your GPUs

I'll also recommend you to purchase powered risers for your muti GPUs rig.

...
I see you have no interest in helping noobs.
...

How dare you say that? Problem is newbies are not reading forum rules and go straight ahead breaking them and also asking questions that have been answered multipletimes ( just lazy to do some search ).

Didn't I replied to your topic? Didn't I warned you made it in wrong section and how to move the topic? Didn't I pointed you right direction? What else you want ... a multipage step by step guide with reasoning or what?

33  Other / Meta / Re: What is negative trust? on: January 21, 2018, 01:25:15 AM
I'll give you example: I bought a miner from kilo17 some time ago. Sent him 1+ BTC and AFTER THAT he sent the miner to me. He could just keep the BTC and run away ( keep the miner as well ) but he didn't. Thus received positive trust from me.

and here you have some details about the system https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=211858.0
34  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Have you ever bought a product with Bitcoin and what do you want to buy? on: January 21, 2018, 01:09:35 AM
Actually I would be much happier if BTC would have been "useless" (as is now) when i started with because most probably would not spent them (I bought some mining gear, new PC and cellphone)
Not complaining, I'm still in profit but ... you know ... could be much more  Wink

Same questions over and over ... do some search your own.  I bet you would blame others when they tell you to mine coin which turns out to be wrong choice.

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New to mining on: January 20, 2018, 10:54:07 PM
Thank you.  I will make the post in the pool section, as I am in a pool that is mining litecoin.  I took the term to be generic for crypto currency. My noob.

I will delete the thread once you have had the chance to see my response.

Thanks again.

Don't make new topic. Just move this one to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0  (altcoin mining section)
(use bottom left link to move topic)

FYI: LTC is also mined by ASIC
see https://whattomine.com/ what you should be mining with GPUs
37  Other / Meta / Re: How to report trust feedback? on: January 20, 2018, 10:41:24 PM
Ultimately, the trust system here is a failure. People use it as a weapon.

This is the issue.

An Mr. Pharmacist has either been drinking or has gone mad with power.

Trust system is not failure ... is misused quite a lot that's true but still there are plenty scammers caught and marked properly (preventing them from scamming more users) ... just don't blindly see the numbers ... check also what was the reason. And if there is no reference then skip it ( like it was not there ).

e.g. bad feedback for wrong english won't stop me from dealing trades with you. It only prevents you from participating in sig. campaigns ... and that's relevant (not a failure).

38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Search Wallet for Ripple, Ether and Bitcoin on: January 20, 2018, 09:27:35 PM
Dear Community,

though I am pretty new to cryptocurrencies, I am searching for a trustful web-wallet. I would like to buy Ripple, Ether and Bitcoin. Could you advise me a good web- oder desktop-wallet for them?

XRP is not much supported by multicoin wallets and I don't trust web wallets so let other users to advise.
I'll tell you the safest option which is ledger hardware wallet (supports all 3 mentioned coins).

Another question: I was looking to buy coins on platforms like anycoindirect or coinbase. When i want to buy coins for let's say 1000€, I get coins worth only around 870€, if I would sell them in that moment on that site. I understand, that they buy on low price and sell on higher one, but more than 10% difference is a lot in my eyes. Do you also have a suggestion for me, where or how i can get Coins without losing that much in that moment?

Tnx for your help!

I suggest you to search for meaning of these terms: limit order, market order, bid, ask
Price difference is given by highest BID ( how much someone is willing to buy it for) and lowest ASK (how much someone is willing to sell it for) ... there is always some spread between those two.

But let me ask. Why would you buy and then immediately sell those coins? You want to become a trader? Then you need to find the sweet spot when to buy and when to sell and this requires lot of skills. Your example of 870€ is most probably because you choose buying using creditcard (though 13% seem too high even for CC)  in which case you are charged additional fee. If you are trading using limit orders ( BID/ASK ) then fees are much lower (usually 0.2 %)

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Noobish Ethereum Minig Rig Question on: January 20, 2018, 07:33:26 PM
Nobody can say this for sure.
GPU rigs have advantage they are versatile. So if the ETH mining won't be profitable you can always switch to another coins.

see https://whattomine.com/ to find other coins you can mine with.

I would say if you are investing spare money ( not your life savings ) then go for it.

You know it's very likely that you are looking at a company wide wallet address that is showing money inflows for ALL Bitmain products being sold. S9's L3+'s PSU's A3"s. I'm guessing that Bitmain has not sold more than 6000 total A3's between China and outside countries.

Bitmain sold 6000 A3s just for china market. Few pages back was reported they have to (by chinese laws) publicly announce how much miners will be released .
