21  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: bitfloor needs your help! on: September 05, 2012, 12:26:51 AM
I have put the website back online for users who have USD to request a withdrawal via ACH. If you choose to leave your USD funds in the account they will be available for trading once it resumes. I hope to resume trading later in the week.

If you had outstanding orders they have all been cancelled.

Once trading resumes, I hope to be able to start repaying BTC losses using the proceeds from fees. More information about this will be provided later.

Can you give us a scheduled date and time so that we can be ready out of the gates?

@unclemantis... You should probably read the rest of the thread

Why? Should there be reason to panic?
23  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: bitfloor needs your help! on: September 04, 2012, 10:32:10 PM
Please quantify the amount of BTC lost as well as the total BTC owed.
What % of BTC were lost?

From the tx it looks like 30K BTC in outputs (although one involved two large outputs so it is unclear what is going on there).

This was almost all of the BTC.

Was there a loss of any USD funds?

No. All USD bank accounts are secure. And all records for the current status of the exchange (accounts, trades, etc) are all also secure.

I had BTC BID order in place. Will all orders be canceled automatically or will business be as usual once you get up and going again?

I am revealed that USD is SAFE. My BID order will be the largest to date with Bitfloor.

I am not panicking. I am sure you have everything under control.

I can't wait to start trading with Bitfloor again!

If there is anything I can do let me know. Credentials are below in my SIG.

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Java 0-day Exploit. All browsers(Chrome included) are vulnerable. on: August 28, 2012, 09:43:14 PM
How about I just uninstall all versions of Java and not install Java at all until the coast is clear?
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Java 0-day Exploit. All browsers(Chrome included) are vulnerable. on: August 28, 2012, 09:01:31 PM
I have the following installed

Java(TM) 7 Update 5 Installed On 7/3/2012
Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 24 Installed On 4/2/2011
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1 Installed On 8/4/2008
JavaFX 2.1.1 Installed On 7/3/2012

I am sure others have the above installed as well if they own an HP Desktop.

Is this above vulnerable? Should I uninstall all of the above, restart and install from current base as of today?
29  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: August 28, 2012, 01:18:03 AM
In approximately 1 hour the Site will be going down for the final migration to the new servers.

The database needs to be copied over which will take a few hours (~120 GB over 100Mbps Ethernet = 3 hours)

Your timing just can't be any perfect. I was planning on working on my prototype and I am using blockchain.info as the wallet Sad

Oh well. I am looking forward to the improved servers!

Keep up the good work!
30  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone having problems with Bitfloor withdraw? on: August 28, 2012, 01:16:03 AM
I just withdrew 0.50BTC to test and i pegged the time from clicking the withdraw button on the website to when it first appeared in my bitcoin-qt wallet at 6.46 seconds.

32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Writing your private key in gold leaf on: August 26, 2012, 04:38:07 AM
I have worked with gold leaf before, and yes it is very delicate until you encase it with some sort of clear fixative.

If you put your gold leaf QR code on a block of nicely sanded mahogany and varnished it then you would have a very sturdy and beautiful wallet that you should never let anyone see.

Interesting take on my copper etching idea.

Why not just encrypt it?

37  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS]Dropbox upgrade to 18GB life time for 1BTC on: August 24, 2012, 02:16:03 AM
Neat little trick.

My only worries is that DropBox will revoke the space Sad
Honestly I had the same thought given that the emails are obviously bogus and come in one right after another.
You will get a full refund if your space is revoked (I need to check it myself though)
I've been selling it for more than a year. None revoked, till today.

How about giving us a 500MB referral to test and sit on for a while?
