21  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is the new gold standard of the future on: August 17, 2021, 03:45:06 PM
We all have different expectations of bitcoin in the future and some of it might happen while some of it may not. In terms of preference, we cannot force people to choose bitcoin over gold because for sure, they have their own reasons for doing so. It should not even be a competition too, the value of bitcoin and gold is both very high and could both be an ideal storage of your investment. In the future, we might actually see bitcoin becoming a recognized currency or if the predictions would come to life, it might be the very single currency the whole world will be using.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be more effective in the future on: August 17, 2021, 02:57:29 PM
For sure, the innovations that will be made in the future will surely make the use of bitcoin more effective than it ever was. That's how it works actually, developments keeps on going on and some things get adjusted for the betterment of the system and the service. Bitcoin will surely last long, it will surely be able become exclusive as time passes by and as it gets enough recognition, an assured slot as a real currency in the future xan be expected. Those who chose to stay and keep on believing on it will have an advantage that's why we should spend our time investing on it right now.
23  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies ! A wrong (Altcoin) selection would destroy your dream on: August 16, 2021, 04:58:38 PM
Upon picking a certain altcoin to invest with, you should think it thoroughly as much as you can because your success will decided by it specially if you will go all out for it. One common mistake that newbies do is biting to the trend right away without even speculating the possible future outcomes for a specific coin. Trends are just a facade and behind lies failures and huge dumps. If you really want to be successful with your investment, spend most of your time doing your own research, it will all be worth it once you find a potential and a close to improving altcoin which you'll benefit from in the future.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin to look out for 2021 on: August 16, 2021, 04:28:40 PM

Add your favorite altcoins of the moment.

For the moment, dogecoin is the favourite. It has made very remarkable achievement from under. Dogecoin has taken the place of many promising coins and now in top 10 position. A good thing to remember dogecoin the season is that it had it ATH for now around over 0.40

I don't agree to invest in Dogecoin for the long term, because it is too risky and of course the price of Dogecoin can increase as it is today because of the support from Elon Musk, so Dogecoin becomes hype and makes many people interested to investing in Dogecoin, but after the hype is gone, then I'm sure the price of Dogecoin will definitely go down and of course for those of you who buy Dogecoin at a high price, then you will definitely experience a loss, therefore I'm not interested to investing in Dogecoin until now.
The Dogecoin's hype has been long gone after Elon Musk's advices and influence with regards to crypto. We're all aware that he is a huge personality and owns billions of dollars together with Tesla and that could be one of the possible reasons how many people got deceived from the very beginning which cause the value of Dogecoin to rise as he considered himself as its father. Even on bitcoin, he made a huge influence as he considered accepting payment of bitcoin upon buying cars on Tesla but later on he abandoned bitcoin and it showed a significant change once again. There are a lot more potential altcoins out there, pick wisely and don't be tricked by what's being shown in the trend.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you make your HODL or dump decisions? on: August 16, 2021, 03:10:50 PM
There are a lot of factors I consider before making a decision about holding or dumping and I make sure that my emotions are completely out of it. First thing is through speculation of the road map and next thing is the current market situation and the news about that certain coin. Deciding when to hodl or dump is a very crucial thing to do because it will decide whether you will be successful with your investments in the future or will experience much worse losses. It's best not to learn it from a mistake but still it is inevitable so just make sure that you think it through as careful and as wisely as you can to make it worth the wait.
26  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Government in Crypto on: August 16, 2021, 02:40:18 PM
the primary role of government is to provide a regulatory framework in an economy, Government sole responsibility is to provide a guideline on how thing are to be done within their jurisdictions.

this is not different with cryptocurrency although cryptocurrency is created with high anonymous the truth remains that cryptocurrency co-exist with other factors in the economy such as the bank and the traditional currencies, for crypto to become a full flesh currency it need to under go government regulation because that is the only way cryptocurrency will be considered a legal currency.

questions:

will government regulations on cryptocurrencies undermined crypto decentralized nature?
Cryptocurrency is a decentralized currency which clearly means that the government has no power over it nor make regulations that may affect its growth. It is true, somehow, that in order for cryptocurrencies to be considered as a real currency and be declared as one, it will need to be under the government and if that happens, there would be a lot of difference specially when it comes to its value. Though someday, there's a chance that it will still be in favor of crypto over the government, the fact that it will soon become centralized someday may be inevitable so let us make the most of it while the greedy individuals in the government has no power over it yet.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incredible stories of Bitcoin millionaires on: August 16, 2021, 01:16:18 PM
I was looking at https://blockchain.info/address/1Fd8RuZqJNG4v56rPD1v6rgYptwnHeJRWs Stefan Molyneux's bitcoin adress :

Total Received   652.94530317 BTC

Final Balance   521.24590891 BTC

He accumulated quite a lot of bitcoins through donations, it will eventually buy a lot in a few years and it is incredible. Do you have other stories of people accumulating large amount of bitcoins without investing any fiat ?
We can see here clearly how beneficial it is to hold your bitcoin for a very long time and sell it when the time is already ripe. Just imagine how low the value was compared to what we have right now on that year. Bitcoin has been a bridge for many people towards wealth and a secured future. Take consideration also of the fact that the bitcoin he accumulated came from donations which means there was not much effort exerted to gain such huge amount. If ever he was able to really hold that up until now, he is, for certain, already a millionaire and hopefully he will be wise on how is going to use it specially if he will diversify it to make his profit grow even more.
28  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency scam tricks newbies might fall for. on: August 15, 2021, 11:58:29 PM
The way things are going, there are a lot of cryptocurrency scams going on right now, and if you're not careful, you might end up being a victim of one. As cryptocurrency grows in popularity, more people are trying to scam it, and most of them are going after newbies who they believe don't know much about cryptocurrency or are new so they can easily scam them.
As a newcomer to Bitcointalk, I feel this post will help everyone from falling victim to a bitcoin scam, such as the ones listed below.
1. If the website you're visiting isn't secure, I believe you should avoid it because your personal information may not be safe there, potentially resulting in the loss of assets or funds.
2. You receive a Gmail informing you that you have been awarded a coin and that you should claim the reward; however, you should never do so if the Gmail comes from an unknown source. Avoid using Gmail if it is not from a official website.
3. If you are asked or invited to participate in an initial coin offering (ICO) with an unknown investor, you should be wary.
4. Avoid applications that ask for your private key or password if the app isn't from a reputable source or the link to the app is not from their main website.
5. You should always avoid unnecessary giveaways and make sure you do your own research before applying for any airdrop to ensure the airdrop is legitimate and not a scam. You should also avoid people who ask you to send a coin and they will double it for you in return.
I feel these are just a few warnings, and I believe there are many more that others should write about, and you can write about your own experiences to prevent people from falling for scams.
This basice precautions should not be disregarded nor ignored specially for newbies. There are a lot of newbies who falls into scams just because they are too lazy to learn about scammers. Little do they know that it will be their weapon against them and it will save them a lot of money that is endangered to be stolen by a fraud. Money isn't the only thing they should worry about because scammers are also after their personal information which may cause much worse problems for a victim. Listen to what crypto-enthusiast tells you about scams, you'll surely thank them for it someday.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The use of Bitcoin as a local currency! on: August 15, 2021, 11:43:48 PM
Everyone on the forum knows what Bitcoin is. We already know that many countries have removed this currency from the ban. I mean, will all the nations of the world use Bitcoin as a currency? How important will it be? It will not go to the good side to the bad side?I want to know the opinion-
The currency being used by each country has different value when you use it in other countries. It means that not all currency has the same value and it somehow maintains balance towards each nation's economy although third world countries has the lowest value compared to other currencies. Bitcoin, as the world's only currency might be possible someday but there would be a lot of adjustments and innovation needed first so that it would work smoothly and properly regardless of the country. The outcome is still not clear since it is just a theory and there are not much proofs about it yet but maybe we'll know through El Salvador's recent legalization of bitcoin.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the legal status of Bitcoin in your country? on: August 15, 2021, 10:21:21 PM
So far, bitcoin is not regulated nor restricted in our country. During the bull run last 2017, the government felt like cryptocurrency was a threat to the country that's why they had plans of banning the use of it. After just a year, they have forgotten about it since bitcoin's value also went down continuously. Fortunately, right now, they don't have an eye over it and they just let people mine as much as they can and invest in cryptocurrency. Maybe once crypto booms again, they will notice it once more and will make an action about it once again.
31  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Antivaxxers work for the big pharma on: August 15, 2021, 09:58:58 PM
Antivaxxers work for the big pharma (Pfizer etc) because it is in their interest not enough people get vaccinated. So the rest keep needing boosters and new vaccines because of further spread and mutations. This is the only way for big pharma to keep making money and antivaxxers are crucial for this. Because if everyone got vaccinated, noone would need new vaccines any more. Thanks, antivaxxers.
There's a chance that this is true but there is also a chance that it isn't. Some might actually avoid getting vaccinated because it is very clear to them that it is not yet fully complete and might just actually end up causing worst problem for them once they have it. Also, there's a chance that the government and the media is just exaggerating the news about the virus for greed and money and continually feed their citizens fear and limit them from progressing as they steal money from them. It is a person's free will if he wants to get vaccinated or not, let them decide on their regardless of the reasons behind.
32  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I wish i knew about Bitcoin before now on: August 15, 2021, 09:48:00 PM
Well, regrets are normal specially if it is bitcoin related since the difference with the price it has in the beginning compared to what we have right now is from earth to heaven. For sure, those who kept on believing in bitcoin ever since it started are now millionaires and too bad, we're not one of them hence it is not a reason to give up nor savor the pain and regrets. It is still not too late because the value will surely rise even more higher in the next few years. Just keep on investing regardless of your experiences with bitcoin or other crypto and it will surely pay off someday.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burning plans on: August 15, 2021, 03:24:50 PM
If we would relate it to the recent burning in Ethereum after the hard fork, I don't think it is something that is legitimate and will make huge progress for the coin in the future. It can be seen easily, although we cannot be certain about it since it just happened days ago. As the supply goes down and the demand rises, the value will surely rise that's why there has been a significant change with Ethereum as the hard fork comes to an end. For other coins, maybe burning is just a false hope but for ETH, I don't think so.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin i should choose now? on: August 15, 2021, 02:24:04 PM
There will be a lot of coins that will be commended by many users to you but it is still yours to decide whether you will follow their advice or choose to speculate coins yourself. The market has always been so confusing and different coins are starting to emerge while others are going down hard continuously. Hopefully, most of us were able to choose coins that are recovering or rising right now. I chose ETH last year and even though the growth is quite sloppy, I will not give up on it. I am also eyeing on other coins and I hope they will be pulled up once bitcoin recovers once again.
35  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The recent surge in Covid-19 is making vaccine makers to have a rethink on: August 15, 2021, 01:37:40 PM
Even after a long run of vaccinating people, the surge in Covid 19 has never gotten better. This just proves how ineffective and how incomplete the vaccines that has been made. Different vitamins and antibodies that is contained in the vaccines are just not enough specially that new variants are emerging as time passes by. The virus is getting stronger and evolving yet the vaccines are staying still on how it is. Actually, we might be doomed already once the virus gets strong enough that we won't be able to contain it and all of the studies and expenses given for the vaccines will all be worthless.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption and increase in crime rate, how correlated are they?. on: August 15, 2021, 12:38:08 PM
Seems the media has another trick to discourage people from buying into the idea of engaging themselves in the new currency. Read about the Venezuelan incident that resulted to a dead citizen after his family couldn't afford the ransom meant to release him. It also got to my attention of studies showing that there has been an increase in crime rate as the popular cryptocurency (Bitcoin) gained more popularity in the country.

You can argue that this are all just propaganda to discourage the citizens from engaging themselves in bitcoin but still how correlated are crimes to the the adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurency in general. Do the adoption of Bitcoin truly increase the crime rate in a country with focus to third world countries since we're likely to find more individual with motive to commit crime just to survive especially if they have some advantage over getting caught.

Just to highlight a paragraph from the article;
Quote from: Kidnappers Kill Venezuelan Citizen for Not Paying Ransom Requested in Bitcoin
The popularity of cryptocurrency in the country has caused an increase in scams and crime using these new assets. Cryptocurrencies, due to their innovative design, can sometimes be more difficult to track than money moved via traditional fiat avenues.
https://news.bitcoin.com/kidnappers-kill-venezuelan-citizen-for-not-paying-ransom-requested-in-bitcoin/

Some positivity here is the article, made it clear that majority of the crimes are still been committed in fiats but still I want us to discuss how an increase in adoption can correlate to increase in crime rate and possibly prevention methods to deploy to combat this trend if it's true.
The involvement of crypto in crimes should not be blamed on its existence instead it is the evil deeds of people that should be. It only becomes an effective instrument due to the anonymity and the convenience it gives off to criminals. Crimes are crimes regardless of what tool is being used and at the very first place, bitcoin or crypto's purpose is not to tolerate crimes, it longs for financial freedom for everyone right now and in the future. Not because you are involved in a tool that is being used in crime, it would make you a criminal too, it is the way you use it and how you act up whenever you witness a crime involving crypto.
37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Work To Learn And Not To Earn. on: August 14, 2021, 05:33:02 PM
The forum has aided so much help specially for the newbies but we should not stop them from earning from what they learned. It is actually the first thought they had in mind on why they chose to explore and learn about crypto. They can do both at the same time as long as they are following the rules with integrity. They can choose to work and spend their time learning while earning money. On the other hand, it is very important that they learn the basics first before striving to earn from crypto or else they will be vulnerable from scams and mistakes.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The relationship between Bitcoin and human civilization on: August 14, 2021, 05:07:45 PM
Bitcoin toward human civilization is a sign that we are all still evolving regardless of the progress we made for the past million years. It is a sign of progress and innovation on how humans will make transactions in the future. Bitcoin was always mentioned as the future currency or in the New World Order's theory, it will be the very single currency the whole world will be using. Indeed, bitcoin's a new civilization and at the same time, a new generation where financial freedom and convenience can be assured so let us take advantage of the fact that we learned it earlier than other did because it will matter a lot in the future.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the recent Ethereum upgrade? Is it good or bad? on: August 14, 2021, 04:48:42 PM
The recent upgrade obviously showed a good outcome as the price of Ethereum gets back to $3k once again. As the hard fork takes place, it can be seen that there has been a significant change on ETHs price. Even though it does not make so much difference for those who have been investing on Ethereum for a long time, the impact of the burning exhibited a positive effect towards the coin. Ethereum is one of the altcoins that has the potential of surviving in the future as a successful crypto so we should pay attention on it right now while the price is still not that high.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to trigger central bank collapse on: August 14, 2021, 04:26:38 PM
More likely, cryptocurrencies and central bank will collaborate and will be able to benefit from each other. Although it is not yet feasible for now due to the existence of cryptocurrencies and CBDCs, we can still expect that once crypto surpasses all the obstacles and gets legalized and declared as a recognized currency all over the world, central banks will surely be involved with the investments on it. There's a lot of things that will happen next to crypto and central banks, we can expect the worst or the best nevertheless, we should always prepare ourselves on either way.
