What are the practical scenarios for which you want to lock your coins?
Will it increase security of my coin? like somebody hacked my account and tried to move my coins so It will give me alert and movement of coin will be failed. Maybe somebody having addiction also need to lock hid coins.

You guys are missing few key points here.
1.Canadian citizen was in visit to India.
2.Dead body was never been back to Canada.
3.Instead they acquired death certificate from one of the state in India.
4. It is not impossible in India to get your death certificate even when you are alive.
5. He did not planned any "backup continuity plan" for the company but he planned everything for his family just couple of months before his alleged death.
He might have faked his death and took a fake death certificate from India, but how about staying in India as he is not a citizen and he needs to get a permit to stay in India and since this has become a big enough case and attained some publicity, i am not sure how he will be able to hide that fact and stay in another country. Yes there are some activities before his death that will raise suspicion and the company has forwarded coins in the cold wallet even after his death which creates another puzzle. You don't know  Pretty sure when you have like 100mill... Those problems tend to disappear quite fast. Like permits, certificates, new identity.. yeah, doubt thats much of an issue. +1, If you can get the fake death certificate then you will get the "legal" citizenship documents. There are millions of poor people from Bangladesh (neighboring country) that have valid citizenship of India. Quite possible , death is faked in India and citizenship is obtained from any of these country or obtained in India with some new name. ok, this started to smell fishy, there is no real proof of his death even than death certificate was not shown. sorry, but I know saying anything about someone's death is the worst thing but there is a huge sum of money involved and the problem is not about some private key lockage. it's recoverable so why not they are refunding the funds are giving any note to the users.
Because only CEO knows the private keys and now the CEO is dead, so all you have is lost bitcoins. |

What is the punishment for parent to provide the gun to their child? I do not see any charges are pressed against the parents. The teachers don't need any psych evals. The responsible students do. Completely serious. After all, it's the students that die. Give them the ability to protect themselves. If the law is the problem, change the law. The State can override the Federal in this. OP, I am hoping that you have implemented the advice of harizen of using the standalone wallets of these coin. (I read your post there in the ANNs of these coins.) I hope you have already set up your wallets if you are still not done then work on setting your wallets because "upbit"/any exchange is not safe for your coin storage. |

It's part of a marketing strategy and OP is doing it right. I do sell gadgets (phone, laptop etc) and i make use of the pharse a "must use" even when i don't use those device so i see no hard in him using those words as far those videos and books are educational in regards to understanding blockchain and cryptocurrency.
When you sell the gadgets you are owning them, you checked them and verified their working condition before selling. You know the technical specifications of the device even you are not using them. Here OP is suspected to know nothing about the books and topic that OP is recommending. |

Perma ban Explanation thread, if created will definitely become one of the hottest topic in the forum, and one of perfect place for spammers to join and get their post quota. Therefore, I don't support the suggestion. Personal Ban Appeals are enough if someone want to try to appeal even their perma-ban reasons disclosed generally when they log in after getting banned.
Then just give only staff and moderators to be able to write on this thread or the account Bitcoin forum can only write it will also protect the identity of the mod also. But you guys knows what purpose will this thread defeat? Theymos do not want to publish the banned users list. |

Now, the question is clearer. If I did not start the topic, we would have not seen the following post of theymos, that help us have better overview on admin's stance on Trust system, roles of DT members, and the way Trust / feedbacks works. It's only better for the forum, I believe. At the start, I believe that something inappropriately used with such feedbacks, that's all. I was disgusted by the reckless and vicious doxing in this case, where:
- The evidence was very thin.
- Even if all of the allegations were true, it'd likely result only in civil penalties, not criminal.
- The whole thing was motivated merely by past arguments. OgNasty never caused Vod to even lose anything, as far as I know. An utterly ridiculous & disproportionate escalation.
- It's based on the premise that purely statutory crimes are directly unethical, which I don't agree with at all, though I'm willing to mostly look past this as subjective.
It's good that Vod came to his senses on this after the fact, though doing it at all certainly blemishes his reputation in my mind, and I added to my notes the fact that those users merited such a post. Meriting it is saying basically that we need more posts like this on the forum, and we do not need more posts like this on the forum.
Red-trusting Vod over this is an appropriate usage of red-trust, since his actions here are highly trust-relevant. But I tend to think that since he edited his post and seems to genuinely regret at least the public doxxing part, it'd be best to forgive.
For the meriters, I can understand the argument for red-trust, but I tend to think that it's at the wrong level. If the meriter was meriting it because they were actively thinking, "I want to make the forum really vicious, where everyone is constantly tearing each other apart for stupid things, and this post moves in that direction," even that's not really a trust-relevant motive, just a very unhelpful motive. And probably the meriters were thinking more innocent things than that.
By now, the purpose of the topic likely reached. Two cases of Vod and Hhampuz solved, and theymos once again stepped in and stated his opinion. What do you think if I lock the topic? (Personally, I believe it is time to lock it). I will listen to your opinion till the end of today, and might lock the topic tomorrow, even next hours if most of you support to lock it. Don't know but whistle blower losing the DT status cannot be stated as a desired outcome. But better to lock it because user can sort out their differences in PM and after Theymos reply we do not need to brainstorm more. |
