In the world of Bitcoin, some common English words may have a different meaning:
New = May or may not have been run for weeks by the manufacturer. Probably owned by the manufacturer.
Used = Probably run for weeks after shipped by manufacturer, who ran it for weeks.
Per-Order = Early investor that thinks they are a customer.
Refund = Not completely clear this word exists (e.g BFL)
A lot of folks just bent over and took it and then thanked them for another. All mine were new (no dust, grime, or other BS, but that was way back.) Nobody should take that crap from any business even if it is bitcoin-related. The only reason that people do and don't fight it is simply choice. You either choose to accept the crap or you don't. |

These will always be King of Suck imho. Here's something to chew on - knowing how greedy Scam Hole really is, if KfC were making money hand over fist why would they need anyone else's money? They're obviously not making enough to sustain themselves and have found a much larger pool of fools to con.
I don't know if there will be any kind of justice served in the future after the long con runs out with these clowns. If you look at the other hardware groups that scammed us all silly not much justice got served there. Maybe there will be a reckoning one day long in the future, i dunno.
What saddens me most about the whole thing is the loss of innovation in this space now. That was the fun part and now it's been closed off to us. I keep looking at bitmain and sponds to do something groundbreaking and keep hoping there will be someone that takes this to a new innovative level, but I just don't see it.
I miss that excitement and the adventure that this whole thing spawned. I hope we see it again someday.

It is embarrassing the demo unit arrived half dead. Since it's a demo unit, it was surely tested before shipping. Not a good sign at all... I've got a bad feeling about S5 B1's... Fuck that's bad. Surely it was merely "damaged in shipping" ಠ_ಠ My S5's just landed in Cincinnati, so with any luck, I should have my own review up by Wednesday. other than Pat has anyone else gotten any antduds? |

I've used it for peer-2-peer transactions, bought mining gear with it, appliances, computer equipment, etc. It's the best. I've even had a payment dispute with a store and it was settled without issue thanks to the blockchain. I really like it as a payment system and hope it really catches on. I LIKE being my own bank and not having to rely on poor security practices of businesses on losing my coins.

network diff is stagnant for a two months already +-1000 miners won't make much difference so this is not a problem. btw bitmain whats your response to THIS ? buy and hold:
1. bores me to tears-I have much more fun trading stocks on a stock market, so mining is clearly more fun.
2. mining is a stretched out affair, essentially you also buy and hold if you are covering your miner and electricity cost with $$, but accumulate bitcoin. You get much better averaging by mining vs buying in lump sums.
+10 You can also resell used miners on Ebay and recoup some of your investment. The resale value of most mining gear is actually pretty decent assuming the hardware is not junk or completely obsolete. I sold all of mine and came out pretty well. Oddly enough the S3s came out higher than the S3+ upgrades. I guess the shiny case is mo betta in their eyes. |
