You're right, you really bought it for nothing if it was for the hashrate, which is negligible. Try to sell it, or something.

You'll be lucky if you ROI 1$ on it.

I think sgminer is faster, maybe 900hs with same clock Smiley

Well, prove it, linux + sgminer..

If you can do 900 on linux, stable for longer than 12hrs, i will fly over and personally shake your hand on my knees, and you can take a picture of that..  Wink

I say "maybe" read again my post Wink 860hs with claymore miner 1300/2100 is great results Wink

I would agree its not bad.

I flashed this on windows, strongly based off Heliox older work, just to see what barely breaking 800 on Linux gave me on Clayclay windows, since people like to shoot down my/his work because they almost get as much on Windows/Claymore than we do on Linux/sgminer-gm.

This is with undervolted vbios, i wonder what i would get if i overvolted the f out of it ? Smiley But this mod is very bad compared to 850 on Linux.

I think that mod above from Heliox would probably break 900 at fairly low core... It seem like you can get 10% more on windows vs linux, which should help all of you evaluate how good a mod is when you see sgminer/linux.

203  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS 30+ GPU From Canada] Weekend Sale! pick 6 Tahiti for 600$+shipping on: February 07, 2017, 08:17:46 AM
Wow nice setup.

By the way your Tahiti's are running too slow, you should modify the bios and you can get almost 300 H/s out of your 7970/280x.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1676474.0

Alot of labour however.

Also why don't you mine XMR instead with your Pitcairn's, I think they produce more profit than ZEC.

EDIT: I see you mine XMR on all your 370s in the other rigs.

Why don't you dual mine ETH+DCR for your 480s instead you do XMR, I think the profit is lower.

The problem is temps/heat, all the 280x are undervolted, they dont clock high enough, i wanted to sell them to get lower TDP cards, so i didnt want to bother modding them. But since people are being silly/stingy about investing into GPUs, i may do that if i expand instead.

The 480s are on XMR for temps reasons as well, i don't know if its a configuration issues but dual mining on my RX when i tried was massive loss on ETH hashrate.

Its funny you linked that to me thought, i was asked not that long ago to do that mod for 290s. But seeing how people arent interested in 4 months ROI, i think i just might.

hi,

I have 6 rx 470 nitro+ 8 Gb and all my card can do -96 mv.
For XMR 600 W for 4500 h/s in sgminer-gm so your result are not so great.

100h/card more than you isint great? My cards do -125mV, and its a really easy thing to mod in the bios, OP has stock voltage, surely you must understand what that entails. Editing the timings by hand, not that easy.

Sorry but i'm not a hater,
in your post you show this http://virosa.ethosdistro.com/ and no card doing 850 h/s.

What i see it's your card can do 750 h/s for 1180 core and 2150 for memory.
It's good but not great.

You're confusing people, i'm not OP and i'm not Eliovp. I don't have his mod, i'm trying to do my own from scratch. *I* get under 100w per card, for 750h/s~ That is all i said and that is all i have at the moment. I could add the voltage offset in Eliovp/OP's mod in less than a minute, its not because OP didnt want/get it that a mod doing 850 is shit.

thats horrible power usage since you are paying him ask for rom that does the same thing with a -100 core and -50 mem undervolt I would pay for that

its not really worth it to me to buy roms becase i have tons of difference cards brands , I just mod them myself

I overvolted my mem a bit, didnt see a draw difference, nor any visible difference in mem stability. I assumed it wasnt read by the i2c. I put -125mV on my Nitros for XMR, though some need -100 to -50mV wtf :S
http://virosa.ethosdistro.com/

The ref's quality are much more consistent.

As promised:

*snip*

WINDOWS & Clayclay is faster than sgminer-gm & linux, for reference Smiley

@philipma1957  the "idle" is that high because I use the two cpu's for mining as well Wink Those are quite heavy cpu's and they consume a lot but I'm not talking here about the CPU. Its all about the GPU's  Cheesy Idle time is just to show how much power two 480's are using.

So basicly you can say a RX480 Nitro+ 8GB consumes around 156,5w and generates a hashrate of 845-850 h/s for monero. (603w - 290 / 2). This is not bad but you cannot compare this to your panda miner! Total other GPU cards (MXM!). Ah and by the way, a panda miner is using around 390-400w in idle modues  Tongue

There's just no way a RX would be taking 300w here.

I get about 100w per RX for 740h/s with common bios mod + undervolt, 40w for intel skeleton. 640w~ for 4450h/s~ with basic mod, 5100h/s~ with more advanced for very small draw raise.
I do *way* better than pandaminer. The interest in pandaminer lies elsewhere.

If you're not going for easy deploy/stack. Custom rigs are much cheaper, more hash. I don't know how the MXM fare if/can once undervolted to save power. At stock the draw is pretty damn high.

i see the same model ? why you post the model of 400 where there is another one 220$ NEW , SAME

Because i linked the .ca, so the price is in CDN.

Closing Threads i don't feel there are any points in selling GPUs at 2 months ROI.

Cheers, then Biodom, keep it up. And thanks for the details sidehack. I'd totally throw in all S5's boards i have right now if i didnt (need?) use some of them to keep warm in the winter Smiley
214  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: January 13, 2017, 07:49:49 PM
re these ^^^ thoughts, EDIT: which are now deleted, so the rest does not make much sense anymore

sticks project is to raise money for BF stuff, this has been articulated plenty.
If you don't want sticks, that's fine.

Would I be too much out of line to suggest that those who buy 2Pac sticks might be considered first in line (so to speak) for boards or any other BF products, otherwise some people are just piggybacking, essentially?
The decision is with sidehack, I just voice my 2c.

On the other hand, if we will have a gazillion of these things (BF), the whole thing is a tempest in a teapot.

I'm going to assume you yourself bought 2-chips sticks;

The same was suggested for people, like me, who bought the first sticks (last year and the "club" died) and we still havent gotten any pods nor a S# upgrade kit and i'm not posting around telling who should get what first. Your comments seem a bit self-serving.

If sidehack want to raise money and there is a desire to favor early backers, then sidehack should run something akin to kickstarting for funding, and make a list of contributors. But i don't see him doing that atm, so i think its a bit early to try to secure one's place in line.
215  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: XFX hd 7970 for sale. daily mark down sale on: January 10, 2017, 05:24:39 PM
Just in principle you don't deserve it even if you offered 3x the asking price.

In all honesty "buttwrinkle"...whichever of us cheapskates man's up and buys from this fantastic seller deserves it...and no'one else.

The rest of us are just tourists.

Thats true. I'd take it at 60$ shipped atm (2-3 months ROI) but it's probably not that of an attractive offer since i'm in Canada. And i imagine someone in the US will take it at 75$ shipped.
216  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: January 10, 2017, 05:21:52 PM
This is probably the right thread;

Actually, I'm raising money for BF16 projects by whipping out some multi-chip BM1384 stuff since, at low clocks, they're still decently efficient (under 0.3J/GH, so S7-level) and easy to work with. Pods are back in the works anyway, and I'll be sending off for prototype PCBs this week. This isn't the appropriate place to discuss it, but there's updates in my 16nm dev thread and stuff in Group Buys, including a Canada GB, so if you still want to trade those S5 boards for something you should look it up.

I don't want to buy sticks but in 2-3 months when it get warmer again, i'll probably be willing to throw in even my working S5 boards. Otherwise right now, i think i'm up to 3 or 4 non working boards. (out of 9 or 10)
217  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Potentially WTS Antminer S9 B10 11.85Th pre-auto tune on: January 10, 2017, 05:02:58 PM
Are the new batches of S9's so inferior to the current ones, that they warrant buying older S9's at full price? o.o;

Some people prefer Version 1 firmware without the auto tune. I think the prices mostly reflect demand for s9's in general

I see, i understand. Partially... people can't reflash firmware with the built-in open-wrt feature?
218  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] AMD HITMAN 20$ BTC/ea | AMD Civilization 32$ BTC/ea on: January 10, 2017, 05:01:17 PM
You might want to consider lowering your prices. For your Civilization VI key price is 32$, if you look at g2a.com price is 35$ and not to mention that they accept BTC payments too.

I should lower my prices, because they're lower than G2A?

I'm saying that you should lower your prices more because it's safer to buy from store than from 3rd party if price is not much different and I mentioned G2A because they accept btc payments so there is not much difference really

Difference is actually cheaper price, and i'm safer than G2A.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=265048

Unless you know, you pay their exorbitant G2A shield. Or you don't know G2A very well at all and you shouldnt bring it up, since its a bad argument and you're just padding your count.
219  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hotmine X6 miner/upgrade kit review on: January 10, 2017, 04:59:28 PM
Closer now than I ever have been, what with both sample chips and dev funding. I'll be in BF16 prototyping as soon as I get 2Pac proof sticks out in a couple days.

But yeah, it's actually been over 2 years. Novak and I first contemplated the idea when ASICMiner posted BE300 test results in December of 2014.

Glad to hear you're still working on it, then Smiley
Still been sitting on those S5 boards (one is yours) but i guess at this point they're fully obsolete. (Good space heater thought)

I'll keep the husks at the very least.
220  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hotmine X6 miner/upgrade kit review on: January 10, 2017, 04:06:53 PM
Too bad, I'd dig the 500watt form factor.

I think sidehack has wanted to do this for like, 2 years. These things never seem to come to pass.
