No one's buying an S5 for $100 in five months. In five months they'll be junk. S5s are currently going for $160 on the forums now.

i wouldn't say they will be junk there is always a market for them. No new hardware is/has been announced and validated so right now s7 and s5 are tier 1 and 2 as far as latest and greatest. sure the rising diff and 1/2ing will impact them but those in free or super super cheap power area will still use them or those that want to throw them at the solo lottery. look at the USB miners that are still made people snap those up instantly.

There is new hardware coming from at least two manufacturers in the next 60 days. We've got a lull in the hashrate here, but you'd be fooling yourself if you don't think even S7s are about to become old technology.

Where do you see new hardware coming to the small user within the next two months? All i saw is SP and Bitfury considering private investors.

so do we have a chance if were only mining at 1.8Ths

Yes, this make it so you first, need to find a block, second it need to be lowest or highest CDF to be the winner. Consider finding a block as an Entry, to be the winner it need to be the "fastest" or "slowest" block of the month. So you wont know if you win for sure until the month closes.
844  Other / Archival / Re: [WTB] Hashnest Coupons on: March 01, 2016, 08:54:33 PM
I know all the coupons expire on March 2, but i'll buy them. I'll pay 0.003 btc for each coupon assuming that they are s7.
If there are any that expire later, i'll buy those for 0.007 each. My budget is currently a bit low, but I expect to have more soon. Cheesy

I'll sell you the one i have left then, It expire soon, yeah.

16Ng4AEU3Ey7F6294Y21v7n9AUvmcPA4bR and give me your Bitmain ID.

If he doesn't get it, I will dependent on the hashrate.

What do you mean? Depending on the hashrate? They all do 4.73TH/s i believe. Also they're not Hashnest coupon afaik, maybe i'm confusing the Bitmain S7 coupons with some Hashnest thing i dont know about.

But the coupons that expire late tomorrow are for S7 shipped to you, not Hashnest afaik.

846  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Include my transaction in a block, 0.5BTC reward on: March 01, 2016, 08:27:53 PM
Tough luck.
We are around 40,000 transaction behind and a block has not been found in over a half hour.

We found plenty of blocks in the last 12 hours though. If OP did strike some kind of deal with Kano it would of gotten pushed by now anyways.
Nah, I just pointed out how with a 2x, 5x or 10x suggested fee you would very likely be in the next network block anyway.

I figured he already had a TX and didnt do a double spend, or could not because it was from a webwallet. *Shrug* Guess my guess was off.
847  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: antminer s7 beeping / not connecting to the pool on: March 01, 2016, 08:22:25 PM
i have set it to 80% and it is still beeping. i think it is beeping because of the temp in that room,  i am running it in the houses next to the front door, but it is on a wooden table.
i am planning to move it to a outhouse so it will be well ventilated.
can i ask what does the stuff in the red box mean?
http://prntscr.com/a9ys0x

I dont know, it would need to be really hot for the miner to start at over 80C. A human would die in such heat.

And what do you mean, the stuff in the red box? You circled just about every single thing.

And i still dont see Kano.is on your list.

Theres nothing wrong with the ASIC count and o status mean Okay.

I don't know about that, the next step is 16nm and not so cheap to mass produce. Look at the price of S3's. They're still worth quite a bit because they're still valuable to people with free electricity.
849  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB (over time)] Old bulk gear on: March 01, 2016, 07:11:25 PM
No, I'd use GND in Labrador as escrow, they'd be hosting.

Right, so i can have my miners hosted with let say Allinvain, why would i share the profit with you 50/50? I get to make more within the 3 months AND keep the hardware. You're basically asking for free stuff here.

Obviously math wasn't your strong suit in school, so I'll explain.

Presumably you pay a bill to Allinvain? If you have S5s or Neptunes, you're underwater, you're paying more to host then they mine. I'm offering you a way out. You'd get more from that deal than the selling price on the forums these days.

Here is the "math" you're referring to, then you can explain how "math is not my strong suit in school".

Hosting at 0.06$/kWh on a S5. 1300GH/s, 650W. We're doing OC because there's no efficiency loss. Profits are 50$~ per month right now, cut in half, thats 25$. Of course thats assuming the difficulty wont go up. And it will.

25$*3 =75$.

Tell me where you see S5's for 75$. You're flat out trying to rip people off. Don't kid yourself.

From a bitcoinwisdom...

1300GH/s is $52/month
650 watts at 0.06 cents in a 30 day month is $28
So your profit is $24 a month (not $50 as you state above)
I'm offering $26/month (which is more than you currently make)
Difficulty will keep rising, you are a 25% away (roughly) from being underwater.

However, you make a good point, I'd do five months on an S5, same deal, 50/50.

Its true 5 Months is a bit better, the difference is that you keep the thing and earnings will drop over 5 months. You're also not paid immediately so "we" can't reinvest and you get to keep the S5 and probably sell it for 100$~

852  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Antminer s7 - Canada on: March 01, 2016, 06:12:22 PM
Hello all,

I would like to buy one Antminer s7, and is open to all offers. I am located just north of the GTA and would prefer to do a pick up. If not please make sure you can ship the miner to Canada Ontario, and I'll pay extra for shipping costs. If you also have a psu for sell please include it and make sure it works for the standard 15amp/ 120volt outlet.

If you have any questions feel free to post or pm me, I should respond fairly quickly
Thank you.

I may be willing to part with one of my S7 for the right price. For the PSU's you'd be better off buying yourself some from retail because i went pretty overkill there. I could include it but i would not sell for much under retail price anyways.

Also either you pay first or we use OgNasty as escrow.

I can pay first if you can provide pics. Also does it need to be shipped or can I pick it up? How much are you selling it for?

I live next to Ottawa, Québec side, so that depend where in Ontario you live, i suppose. Make me an offer, taking into account they're already local, duty/international shipping paid.

Yea I live north of Toronto, so it would have to be shipped. I'm looking to buy it for about 1.6-1.7 bitcoins excluding the shipping. I can pm you my postal Code, and you can calculate the shipping costs.

Okay. Go ahead. Will you source your own PSU?
853  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB][To Canada] A couple more GPU Rigs frame like this one on: March 01, 2016, 06:06:03 PM
If I remember there were a couple how-tos way back around here for these things. Basic measurements, etc..

spotswood makes some ready to go open airs @ $95 : http://spotswoodcomputercases.com/wp/?page_id=892
cheaper than $160 at least. No idea if he's still selling.. could try contacting him: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179928.0

Thanks, i might look into it. Right now i'm hoping someone has some of these collecting dust he would not mind shipping out at a decent bargain price.

I have a transaction I want confirmed asap, so I'm willing to reward a miner/pool 0.5 BTC who can include it

I have doubts about you being serious or not but you are wasting your time.

I can 99% guarantee you that your tx will get included in the next block if you add a fee of 0.20 BTC.

You will save yourself 0.30 BTC. Keep that in mind the next time when your tx has ultra high priority.

Pretty sure he wanted to push a TX he did not pay enough fees on. But that many hours ago and he did not reply.
858  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 60 batch 1 KNC Neptunes (Canada) with or w/o EVGA 1300 PSUs on: March 01, 2016, 09:18:46 AM
If it wasn't for Ethereum I think you would get some sales. I know I would of probably picked some up. That PSU is worth at least $100+.

But nobody wants to gamble with ASICs anymore when they can buy GPUs which currently are more efficient than any ASIC out there and make more money.

Maybe in 3 months...6 months that will change.

Maybe tomorrow, too.

Right now BTC difficulty went wayyyy up, and GPU profitability went wayyyy up. If things worked out differently, filling my apartment with these would probably be what i'd want to do, but there's no way i could pick up a 20k deal in the near future.

Then again in that scenario, these would probably not be for sale for so cheap either.
859  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB][To Canada] A couple more GPU Rigs frame like this one on: March 01, 2016, 08:46:13 AM
Looks to me like 8020 Quickframe - you could probably just assemble the parts yourself, especially since you already have one:

https://8020.net/catalog/category/view/s/shop/id/837/?cat=380

o.O the guy i bought these from paid like 160$ per frame. According to this, it would be reaaaaally cheap to make myself as many as i want. I'd just need the drill bits for screwing the stuff in.
860  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 60 batch 1 KNC Neptunes (Canada) with or w/o EVGA 1300 PSUs on: March 01, 2016, 08:11:13 AM
Got word from the seller that he is willing to take $23K for the whole lot including the 120 PSUs. PSUs alone can be easily sold for more than $50+ on ebay etc.

I'd take a couples of 1300 G2's if they were 50$+ish each.

Somehow seeing how you're having so much trouble selling the S5's, this might be a hard sell as well.

I don't think the seller is ready to part with the PSUs individually yet. The idea is to move this whole mountain of gear all at once.

Yeah you are right it is a total buyer market out there and the buyers aren't buying cause the reward halving and high diff is causing them to run scared. We shall see how this game plays out.

Yeah i understand, which is why i said "If they were", its a nice lot. The PSU's are great and i don't know how much in bulk they would "devalue" but at half their retail price you're still looking at a value over 10k. Then 13k for 180TH/s is an awesome price.

I'd need a lot of free electricity apartments to power these all in lol.
