201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If governments block Bitcoin, does Bitcoin have no value? on: June 15, 2021, 05:52:56 AM

You can't just use random numbers here, where is your proof of any of your claims for the percentages and amounts used in your claims?

And what's up with all these "what if" topics today from newbie accounts?

I think this is where he got these numbers https://www.finextra.com/blogposting/17706/what-is-the-actual-use-of-cryptocurrencies

The authorities can actually track down these transactions if they really wanted to arrest someone behind these illegal activities. Bitcoin is traceable and with the help of chainalysis, I'm sure they could get bad actors.

Blocking Bitcoin is not possible. It's worth fighting against BTC when gradually the world is adopting it, the country that will block or illegalize BTC will just be left. China will not be able to stop it too.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying old coins: Is it worth it? on: June 15, 2021, 03:29:34 AM
buy coins that have good progress in the future, not because they have been around for a long time and will survive, of course the project can be replaced if it doesn't follow current developments.
It's better to buy coins that keep up with current market developments, like defi and nft you said.
Old coins will not necessarily have good development, and will not necessarily last. of course when we want to invest must choose coins that have potential later. it is very risky to choose old coins, especially after pumping and dumping, as if they are difficult to bounce back at their peak price

With old projects that aren't developing further to compete with the new ones, they are bound to die. There are old coins however that are worth like the Lisk, WAVES, MCO and Livepeer. There are lots of them that are nearly forgotten but the old holders are still holding them. I have lost a lot of WAVES actually but still managed to buy back some of them even the Stratis which is now rebranded to STRAX. If the project still has development and updates, I think it's still worth it.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jack Dorsey is now speaking up on: June 14, 2021, 02:04:35 PM

Could we say that Jack Dorsey is the reason for this 40k bounce of BTC?

@btc-room101  Thanks for pointing that he also have a electrnic payment system like paypal so the company might have to do something with this rise. Very similar to Elon really so he jumped in and you think he will also spread fud later?
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If I have $500,000$ in this token can I sell them immediately and get ETH? on: June 14, 2021, 01:44:06 PM

500k worth of OPEN Token, thats a lot. I think bilaxy will ask for your KYC even ths Hoo. If you want to keep your privacy just go for Uniswap.  Transaction might not be seemless but you get the idea of safer data. No idea about the project actually, is it owned or backed by a government?

1.9M of opendao. OP is unsure what to do. Did you invest to this project?
205  Economy / Economics / Re: George Soros and Bezos have paid almost zero taxes on: June 14, 2021, 01:31:59 PM

It happens almost every where not just in US.There are just laws they can use to evade tax and make it like they are law abiding still. They don't call it taxable income if it shouldn't be taxed.

Charities and foundations are always used by the waelthy people to accomplish what they want. You having billions of money but don't want to pay responsibilities. They're not just cheating the government but to the people too.

206  Economy / Economics / Re: USA dollar and USA economy are Not Same on: June 14, 2021, 09:26:41 AM
2022 Will be strong dollar but Not so strong Economy in USA.
That's contradicting.

If the dollar will be strong next year, that only indicates that the economy of the USA will be that strong. If the economy of the USA won't be so strong then that makes sense that its dollar won't be strong as well.

Highly unlikely to happen. They the media isn't telling what exactly is happening in US but there are articles sometimes that I see about the people not encourage to work anymore because they are receiving about $300/week without doing anything. The US government is just printing USD all the time to provide for the people. If this is going to continue, the dollar will collapse. And if your trading partners will decide not to use USD, there goes your American dream.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin as legal currency increase interest in Sat on: June 12, 2021, 07:07:47 AM

Having an entire BTC is a lot better than having just sats but since a regular person with little to no wealth to invest can still have the chance, a poor person can even just put as little as $10 worth of BTC just so they have something to look forward to whenever there is a big change in the future.

I watch an interview that the government of El Salvador is paying their streetcleaner in BTC. If they are doing this, I guess they are paying thru LN?
Their Bitcoin beach is very interesting.
208  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Let's stop nonsense about government want Control on: June 10, 2021, 11:54:12 PM
This cashless society theory is just other missleading info to feed your brain.

Isn't paypal considered a tool for cashless?

It's actually happening and that is why the FBI also traced the ransomware BTC. It looks like the FBI is getting good at what they are doing with blockchain. If they find it easy to find culprits by using blockchain, they may actually be using blockchain even into everything that's possible to monitor criminals.

And FBI can go to lengths at doing so that they created ANOM messaging app which drug dealers and criminals used thinking it's all private.
I've just read this news https://www.cbsnews.com/news/anom-app-fbi-criminals-messaging-app/
209  Economy / Economics / Re: Permanent residence in El Salvador for crypto entrepreneurs on: June 10, 2021, 01:09:14 PM
Very extra ordinary president that has the political will to do all these changes all of a sudden to their country. He certainly put the name of his country on the spotlight and attract new businesses.

He said the government may try to.use their resources to mine BTC thru the energy from volcano. Looke like he had already planned all these before the announcement in Miami conference.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: June 09, 2021, 03:32:14 AM
...

Peru might be next, but NOT as legal tender.  Last I looked, leftist whacko Pedro Castillo (graduate of the Hugo Chavez School of Government) has a small lead in their presidential run-off election.  Castillo is not a run of the mill leftist.

Peru has been fairly much a laggard in adopting BTC, but I have bought bfrom two ATMs there, both of which might be gone (at least one of them is, I'd have to check coinatmradar to see if the other is as well).

I know Venezuelans here in my city.  It is horrible what is happening there.  They use BTC (and another crypto, Dash?) more than one would expect.  In some cases, BTC/crypto saves lives...

If the Peruvian people choose to go down that road, may the Lord save them.  Bitcoin would help Peru in such dire circumstances, but not that much.

Agreed and this would turn bitcoin more into a political tool to bring nations together against an oppressor. I reckon from the history of some South American countries, we know who this oppressor is hehe.

I thought bitcoiners’ laser eyes was larpy, however, what a storyline it would be if all Central and South American countries presidents begun having them on in show of support of bitcoin as a political tool hehe. This is from El Salvador president’s twitter account.

Some politicians from Paraguay, Brazil, and Mexico joined El Salvador already it's like the revolution of South American Countries, they should just come together for Freedom at last!  Their laser eyes are posted. It's been so long they've struggled with sanctions, they can't even trade freely without permission from higher ground. It all just needs the El Salvador president to light it all up.

211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: NFTeaching from Binance on: June 08, 2021, 02:30:41 PM
Very informative. I have no idea about the answers actually. Its the first time I explore NFTs and heard of that ERC-1155.

I didnt know you have to own an IP before you could participate in the marketplace. Did I got this correct or its only required when you are about to own an NFT art?
212  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Crypto in Free-Fall again, BTC retesting 30K then all the way to 10k and bel on: June 08, 2021, 06:20:21 AM
Hard to sell whether it's really going to go below $10K. The bottom back in 2018 was $3k seems too close.

Bag holders normally will join the fun to sell and to increase holdings. Too bad for Saylor he kept investing even at the price of more than $30K he bought a ton of BTC. Did he ever sold or join the manipulation? For Trump, he is an old guy just like Buffet, who probably didn't understand blockchain.

213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitMEX will place a bitcoin wallet holding 1 BTC on the surface of the moon! on: June 08, 2021, 03:22:32 AM
This is meant to just compete with Elon and his Doge?  Its childish but for marketing I guess they could do it.
The news spreads probably to a couple of bitcoin news sites, will probably publish and maybe some finance channels will feature the company. This is good marketing for Bitmex for they have been behind already. Nothing to worry about that 1BTC going to be among the lost BTC because one day a Chinese astronaut will likely find it and will cash it out.
214  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is our last hope for financial independence - John McAfee on: June 08, 2021, 02:32:37 AM
On March 5, 2021, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced that they had formally indicted McAfee and an executive adviser for allegedly fraudulently promoting certain cryptocurrencies and performing pump and dump schemes. McAfee is currently incarcerated in Spain, pending extradition to the United States.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McAfee#Legal_issues

Sad

It's that crime that he is going to be extradited but there are more crimes he did that were reported actually, like rape and he was also the one behind the death of his neighbor. Promoting cryptocurrencies and pump and dump schemes are small things, it's likely he could get away by just denying all these that he didn't know the projects are scams. Extraditing Mcafee is a way to free him.

Crypto being hope for financial independence is true though. If a country like El Salvador today is using USD as their fiat then they'd also be losing money every time the US government prints dollars. I guess their president is on the right path.

215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Many Different Coins Do You Own? Me = 11 on: June 07, 2021, 08:37:02 AM
I have BTC, ETH, BNB which I use for savings and I will only turn it into fiat if I am in a state of urgency
and have a little LTC, for the purpose of buying some virtual products on shoppy.gg , I used to buy an antivirus license and also a VPS license using LTC
fast transactions and low fees are very helpful in online transactions like this

and of course there are 27 shittokens that I keep in my Ethereum wallet,

There's a lot of shitcoins in that wallet but its worth is just $21. If you do not want to keep buying anti-virus, just shift to linux operating system. It's worth doing than spending money to keep up over and over. You will be spending all your life on antivirus that will be outdated eventually.

There are still tokens left in my ETH wallet but I think it may really still be there forever until the price of these tokens will shoot to moon. It's hopeless though because the team isn't doing something to make its value grow.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scenario of the crypto market in near future. on: June 07, 2021, 07:33:23 AM
The best scenario is to always think clearly to buy when the price is down
and expect the price to rise again at a very profitable price.
yes of course but making an exit while have loss is not a smart idea because how you can regain those losses if you will not wait for the right time to sell off and prefer to dive in because of the greediness of some people in the market. That's the common problem here and it's very hard to tell why mostly preferred to jump even though they still have the opportunity to regain all the losses and perhaps the fact that market isn't dead is enough reason to keep hodling.. For them it's unrealistic?
some people may be able to patiently wait for the market to return to reduce losses or even return the capital that has been spent.
but many of the newbies or traders actually sell their assets at a loss and then wait for the market to really bottom and start investing with other assets with more potential. This method does not guarantee that it will return the capital issued, but I am sure that many old investors or traders also do that.

That is if they knew where could the bottom be. Some of us saw the bottom could be in the daily chart and then bought at it not knowing the price actually got worse and then they sold again paying the price for speculating too early. The price going from $30 to $36K isn't an assurance that we are out of the woods, it could actually go below $30k once again.  For BTC goes back up to $60k again is after the halving again.

217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China bans Bitcoin again in 2021 on: June 07, 2021, 05:37:32 AM

I don’t think you need to panic. As early as a few years ago, China banned Bitcoin mining and issued other token projects, but they only had a short-term impact on Bitcoin, but soon btc It has returned to its original position, and this time just banned the mining of Bitcoin, which does not mean that the transaction is banned.

Exactly, people always find this news too concerning when in the grand scale of things, it doesn't have any sort of long lasting effect plus bitcoin mining will just be moved to other countries if the ban is a permanent one.

It has a long-lasting effect. The last bear market took almost 3 years before it rises again, it affected the lives of those who lose money. The effect today isn't very dreadful since BTC still is more than $35k but if it goes below $20k it will be horrifying to all. Luciky other fuds are already handled. Google even allows cryptocurrency ads unlike before when they all together ban including twitter and facebook along with the bear market.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not everyone can be lucky when it comes to shitcoins on: June 06, 2021, 09:32:47 AM
All we keep hearing about is a guy who invested 100$ in meme coin and go home with 100,000$ but no one is talking about those guys who invested 10,000$ in meme coins and go home with zero $ , the truth is many losses more money than those who win investing in meme coin, it's like buying your fantasies when you know that your chances are very slim, meme coins are shitcoins but many don't want to accept just because someone make 100,000$ off the shitcoin haha

Maybe because it's embarrassing to post the loss he made from investing that much to a shitcoin. Investing $10,000 to a shitcoin will only be profitable if he bought it with the price of less than 1 satoshi. I guess that's the lowest possible price that he could bargain. You know having millions of the shitcoin with a value of $0.01 still equates to a lot of USD.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Many Different Coins Do You Own? Me = 11 on: June 06, 2021, 09:28:10 AM
I own more than 20, which all I got from doing bounty. Just awaiting distribution of few more. It includes eth, btc, trx, usdt, xrp, okios, ctsi, DIA, HAI, ubex, hex, temco, green, lsh, amz, jacs, clva, gmrx, bet, corionx, 3wm, arx, lvn, spn, MTVand so on.

Bounty hunters will always get a lot of altcoins but convert them to BTC in case you find it not profitable to hold. There is no way you can expect some of them to be really worthy of holding when it's not growing after months.

It's still best to just hold a few like BTC and ETH only because they are the ones who are very much volatile. I have some ADA and EOS but these are the ones I'm just staking.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Doesn’t Exist, Or How Satoshi Nakamoto Tells Lies To People on: June 06, 2021, 09:04:48 AM

BTC is not created out of thin air. There is no one out there who will just pop out and print BTC to paste it into the blockchain. BTC is being mined using the devices solving hashes crunching numbers and consuming energy. How is that a lie when banks are already adopting it?

Well, you still could say it's a Ponzi but there is no one here that will ever think Satoshi can print more BTC just as the FED are doing which is a bigger Ponzi. It will always be 21M BTC ever.
