2061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: November 02, 2022, 11:58:44 AM
I am surprised no one is talking about this here yet, I guess it's probably because no one really knows who DK Yoo is(even I don't know who he is).

anyway, Manny Pacquiao is having an exhibition match against DK Yoo in a boxing match on December 10. I am not that interested in who he is fighting but I'd still watch the fight because I want to see Pacquiao in the ring again. besides, Pacquiao said that he'd give us a "real fight"(he said in one of the articles I've read) which I hope he would actually do.

also, I saw in one of the articles that Proceeds from the event will be donated to the homeless in the Philippines and families affected in Ukraine.

They are only having an exhibition match so its nothing all too special, really. I think thats mainly the reason why nobody is paying much attention. Although I find it very awesome that proceeds from the event will be going to a good cause. Hopefully they raise a lot of money!

I do not know DK Yoo's history other than he is more of a youtuber than a fighter, but he seems like a small fish. And just because Pacquiao is 43 and now retired from professional boxing does not mean that Yoo stands a ghost of a chance against the Pacman. I mean cmon, seriously.

We will probably see that as Manny would not look like a fool just to give DK Yoo a chance to beat him. It's actually easy money for Manny, so good for him because after retirement he can still make money and could entertain the fans at the same time as well.

Quote
Obviously Manny is going to show him what a real fight looks like.
Hopefully he will not heavily injure  DK Yoo.
2062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 02, 2022, 11:22:09 AM

As for the Lakers' new coach, Darvin Ham's fate rests in Lebron James' hands.  Cheesy

LOL, that sounds hilarious but true, it's been proven in the past already.

Coach David Blatt was fired because of Lebron, and there was a rumor that he wants to get coach Spo fired when he was still with the Heat but the management did not grant his request, so that resulted him leaving the team.
2063  Other / Archival / Re: Most investors think regulation is a good thing on: November 02, 2022, 07:02:43 AM
I would rather go for regulation than an outright ban like what China and other anti-crypto countries do. Although there might be some flaws in the regulation part such as the taxes, etc., I think it's way much better in my opinion.

Right here in the Philippines, the central bank governor is not keen on banning crypto nor having the interest on regulating it. If it's a way that would keep the crypto industry going in the country, I'll take it even if it means of taxing our realized gains.
Regulations will come momentarily and when someone from the authority will push and shoulder the process. But I never think it find easy and fast, we know the government process in the Philippines, there are a lot of stages before it was become law and implemented. Of course, I will support that one rather than being like in China and those countries that are banning crypto. Because we have this regulation at least we still have the right to own and invest in crypto.
2064  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk Becomes Owner Of Twitter, Immediately Fires CEO And CFO on: November 02, 2022, 06:39:30 AM
~~~
Do you think firing the CFO and CEO will create a lot of panic among the employees in twitter and it will create a sense of fear in terms of job security?  Let's see how it will affect Twitter in the mid to long term.
By the way, has he announced the new CFO / CEO for Twitter, or the positions are vacant for now?
There should be no surprise. Elon was very clear even before the takeover about his intentions. He one put up a tweet (in reply to someone who asked him what was the biggest issue with Twitter) where he claimed that there are 10 staff who manage for every staff who does the coding. And animosity between guys such as Parag and Vijaya with Elon was also quite public. For now, Elon Musk is the new Twitter CEO. For other posts, it may take some time to find suitable replacements and fill the vacancies.
And he doesn't need these people as he wanted to make the business runs in his new way with a new set of people that he knows will follow and support his plan. That will also be my decision if I was in his position as this might creates some misunderstanding and miscommunication if the old organization remains. But to start with a new one is just like moving for another game plan. Elon Musk is not new in business, not even new in social media, and we knows he can take risk at all cost.
2065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: November 01, 2022, 10:52:38 PM
Be it a bear market or a bull market, both have an important role. so that both can be considered important.
The Bear market will be very important for people who are accumulating bitcoin or it can be said that it is time for shopping. although there are some people who are even afraid of the bear market and they easily panic and rush to sell. whereas bear market is an important market to start accumulating bitcoins.
and when the bull market comes then it will be important for some people who have accumulated from the bear market. because some of them must have wanted to take advantage. but then again there are always people who panic when the bull market comes. i.e. those who are in a rush to sell or those who are exposed to FOMO. I hope beginners who enter the bear market now can learn more before the bull market comes.
Bear market and bull market are both important and should be complimenting each other. The reason why after a bearish market, a bullish market is expected to come, and vice versa. If you will just ignore the bear market, then you will never be very profitable when the bull market comes as bear market comes with accumulation and long term hodling of promising coins. And with bull market, that’s the perfect time to reap all what you have been planting during bearish market.
We can never expect people to understand it because what is in their minds is to keep on profit every day. Like, if they are investing now, they expect profit tomorrow. But for us who have been here for quite a long time in the market, we value each situation knowing that both of them places an important role and of course, as an opportunity. It is just we need and look deeper into what these two conditions could give us as they are somehow giving us benefits in return.
Bear market - buying opportunity
Bull market -  selling opportunity
2066  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull or bear November? on: November 01, 2022, 01:41:37 PM
I really hate to speculate badly for the upcoming but at some point, we have no option but to say the bear season will still stay this month of November. If we could see a pump, that was a bonus event, and this is just like what we experienced last October. I was expecting no harsh drops in the market, however, it was not enough to save and uplift the market to higher than a bear season but most likely the same market condition is what we experience. And we are investing this time, then helping ourselves to learn how to hold and to be patient is vital.
2067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 01, 2022, 12:42:20 PM
Toronto won by 30 points, anyone caught the Raptors 26+? I'm sure your bookies have that kind of betting choices, that would be a big odds if you caught that one. Me, I miss the games today because I'm out of town and was not able to bet early.
Anyways, I'm ready for the upcoming games.
Here are my picks.
Nets ML
Heat ML
OKC -3.5
Wolves ML
I would only pick one instead, I'm thinking of betting on the Warriors. Both teams are on a losing streak, however, I think the Warriors are still the better team and they can win even on the road. Only -1, they can surely cover that if they'll win but I'm expecting a dominant performance, so probably a double digit win.
2068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 01, 2022, 12:07:19 PM
This is so far the best season of converge, they should be good with a good import but in All Filipino Cup, I don't think they have the talent to compete against big teams like Ginebra, SMB, and TNT, so they should enjoy this season and push to the limit, who knows, they'll reach the Finals.
Their second conference as for now and they are doing great already. Even in their 1st conference, they showed already has potential. Their players are really something great and the chemistry between them and their import is perfectly matched.
I hope they will reach the Finals. A champion on other company might give PBA a little trust more that they are not owned by a big company.
Reaching the finals I think is too much, there are still good teams that are better than converge, but of course, I would be happy if I'm wrong and they'll upset the favorites. This is their best conference,the only thing I'm concern is their health, hopefully no injury will happen to this team as they deserve to where they are now.
2069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: October 31, 2022, 01:46:07 PM
I'm not really interested to watch the match but watching the highlight made me think that Silva is giving Jake Paul a hard time, compared to his fight with Woodley,  Paul was challenged by Silva, but his punches had no effect on Silva, and the knockdown is more of a flash knockdown, I guess Jake Paul will go on to continue calling names to challenge but no one will take him seriously if he wants to challenge no way, he also calls out Nate Diaz so there's a possibility that there will be a deal on these two because both fighters can make money and they are both equal in their fighting level.
You are right, he gave Jake Paul a hard time as we can see on his face that he was also hurt.  If  Anderson Silva was still younger, I think Jake Paul would really have a problem, but in this fight, he was already more than the age of Jake Paul, so that's really hard for him even how good he is when he was still a champion.
2070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 31, 2022, 01:24:56 PM
I was also surprised to see the Warriors lose to the Pistons and go below .500 on the season now. Klay Thompson needs to get healthy both physically and mentally so he can return to the court.
That was a good start for the Warriors in the first quarter and in the second quarter, Cunningham saw the momentum. And for the third quarter, that was likely when they become confident that it was the moment that they should continue with the lead. Sad day for the Warriors, will they come back on Wednesday against Heat? For sure.
Maybe good but not the same warriors we saw before, Warriors are a good 2nd half team, especially the 3rd quarter so they usually win games. Well, they might have a bad start now but I'm pretty sure they'll be able to make the right adjustment to be consistent in winning again.
2071  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why does everyone want to trade? on: October 30, 2022, 10:42:37 PM
Demo accounts that are used in trading are just a way of learning and familiarizing the market. It sometimes gives you a signal when to trade, it was just like there is a bot guiding you on how to trade and you are not afraid to make decisions unlike if you are already dealing with your hard-earned money. Because at this point, many things will change and your emotions will also increase making you unable to decide the right thing which is mostly ended up emptying your wallet.
Trading in general is really risky. And there is one reason why most traders have failed even though they have experience and that is emotions. I believe your friend OP struggled to control it.
2072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bear market Survivals on: October 30, 2022, 09:55:42 PM
Any coin that survives this bear market will do well come the bull season
Well, it was not a new question raised by newcomers because if you are here and have experienced the previous bear season, certainly you can say that these potential coins and those who have a working product will definitely survive this market condition. But, of course, the recovery couldn't be fast, it takes time to fully come to it like 1 year or 2, which can be expected.
And if you are buying any of the top 10 or 20 coins, you can have peace of mind. What just you need is to be patient as the bull season will come sooner.
2073  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you visit the casino while travelling? on: October 28, 2022, 09:27:23 PM
If you play in casinos often and you happen to travel to countries with casinos I'm sure you will take time and include it in your trip, its not that you are going to play here, its more on checking what kind of casinos the country you're visiting have, I know of one celebrity who collected casino card on every country he visited, it's a good remembrance that he once visited a casino in that country, every casino in every country is different and once you visit one you will be attracted to check other casinos in countries that you're visiting.
It is really depending on interest or activities that you've been doing on your own place or residing behind your home or city.If you do really get used to on playing on casinos and you have the
chance on going into other place then you would be mainly be thinking that there might be some casinos on the said place that you had visited on.If you do have the money then you
could really have all the freedom you can do whether you would be going shopping into other place or would be playing gambling.It do always boils down on someones
interest because you would likely be playing if you are already getting used to it or already been a habit before.
Yes, it depends on the traveling situation for example if that will be for business purposes, doubt if we still have the time to go there, unless if you are totally addicted to gambling. But for me, there is a perfect to do it and I wasn't comfortable gambling out of my place because the environment will certainly affect our focus which only leads to losing. Maybe for online casinos, that seems possible.
2074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important are exchanges? on: October 28, 2022, 09:13:42 PM
To know the importance of these exchanges we need to go back in time when exchanges were not in existence, during this era we only relied upon peer to peer ways of exchanging crypto and prices had high markups because fiat was regarded as high risk because of possibilities of charge backs. But now that we have exchanges, price to buy crypto as small markups and now we can get our hands on crypto with ease using  different fiat assets.
Exchanges make our life easier to buy and trade. Perhaps, they exist for a good reason but for now, some exchanges exist to scam us. I would say they are very important in the very first place but too unfortunate that they are also the reason why some traders are even afraid to take risks knowing that many of these platforms have been a reason why many had to lose their money, they'll somehow ruining the trust of many individuals. But if I were going to compare it to P2P, the use of exchanges is even better and safe. We only just need to use check their reputation.
2075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 28, 2022, 02:22:04 PM
Boston Celtics vs Cleveland Cavaliers - Boston home -5.5
Denver Nuggets vs Utah Jazz - Jazz +8.5
They are still being underestimated but I think they have a fighting chance. Nuggets Michael Porter Jr. is still questionable.
LA Lakers is also an underdog tomorrow against the Timberwolves but I will still pass. It's +7.5 but it might not be sufficient.
I like your pick, that +8.5 is very attractive but I like the ML on that one more because Jazz is a decent team, they are in a winning streak so upset is not a surprise if it will happen again. This is one of the games that I will watch tomorrow, let's see if the Jazz can give a good game to the Nuggets.
About the Boston Celtics, well, always bet on them as they are consistent so far.
2076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 28, 2022, 01:29:04 PM
^^ It's not about being high risk bettor, we should be smart specially in this kind of fight.
As we have seen how Inoue's path to become a champion, he just overrun them with his power and precision. Even Donaire wasn't able to last against him in their rematch. So it's really hard to see how Paul Butler will pull an upset here. We might see him go down as well, just like the rest of Inoue's last couple of opponents.
If we are smart then we should not waste our money betting on Paul Butler who obviously has no chance of beating Inoue. However, you don't put money on ML because of the very low odds, guessing what round Inoue will KO Butler is quite interesting, it's a high risk because we might make a wrong prediction but the reward is certainly be satisfying.
2077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 28, 2022, 12:41:33 PM
Looking at the standings, for Utah Jazz, they're always like this during the early games up to the playoffs but can't manage to land in the finals. Hopefully by this season, we may see some teams like them going to the finals.
But it's a different team now, they have almost disbanded the team that always fell short in the playoff. And it seems that it rejuvenated the team itself. But it's too early to say how they will fare in this season. They could pull a surprised and make the playoff.
There's nothing to lose for the Jazz even if they'll have an 1st round exit in the playoffs. Getting to the playoffs is already a big achievement and I'm pretty sure the management will be happy with their young rosters, and of course, they will eventually improve in the seasons to come if they will keep their players and add more role players.
With the current performances of Jazz, the management might consider the rebuilding as successful.
Though still early from this season and maybe they will be contented if ever the team manage to move to the next round,
the current your roster is doing great and the chemistry between players is really blending well.
I can say that even they might choke again during the next round. It is safe to say that they are not
composed of stars who are really capable of winning a series.
Though Jazz is into rebuilding but they have the experience in the playoffs already, in fact, what I'm seeing now is that they are an improve team compared to the old Jazz. Its just too bad it took time for them to figure out that the team has a problem with Mitchell, so it's a wise decision trading him.
2078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 28, 2022, 11:46:35 AM
Converge vs TNT is over and I am surprise how converge manage their lead and also from the 2nd quarter to 3rd quarter they are leading with 20 to 30 points which is pretty good with the team and in 4rth quarter I thought TNT will gonna getting closer but converge still manage and end the game with 130 points which is 13 points lead against TNT got only 117 points.
Just an ordinary day in the PBA where upset happens. Well, converge is a good team in this conference, so there's a surprise that they win against a good team. I don't know what's the betting spread on that game but I believe TNT is the heavy favorite, so those who bet on converge are lucky to get the odds.
2079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it right time to invest in Cardano? on: October 28, 2022, 10:44:30 AM
As I'm going a deep search, I've found this one
Quote
" In a recent interview with Big Pey, the inventor of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, talked about the launch of their newest crypto wallet, “Lace.” This new product will allow Cardano to get to a billion users, according to Hoskinson.
source ; https://www.newsbtc.com/news/cardano/is-this-product-likely-to-bring-cardano-back-to-1-charles-hoskinson-speaks-out/
I'm not sure how this could bring to reality. With this news discovery and market development, I think this will also create some hype and an interesting look over Cardano. I see the hard work of the team/developers to make this project work so well and get adopted but the strong market competition, it makes hard to compete with others. Well, I hope this initiative will become successful and see positive results, otherwise, that gonna hopeless to see Cardano rallying back again.
2080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think China will lose by banning Bitcoin? on: October 28, 2022, 06:11:51 AM
We all know that China has a total ban on cryptocurrencies, including but not limited to no mining, no circulation, no trading, no banking services, no listing on exchanges.
What do you think countries have to lose by making this choice?
Perhaps, they love to do that, therefore, they lose everything from benefiting from this new technology. I couldn't say they are wrong but something they wanted to keep everything on their premises in control. It can be a loss of opportunity for their people to do business in crypto and do investment, but unfortunately, they don't have the voice to oppose it.
But what I see is that - they lose freedom. That is why many Chinese people are moving out from China just to have peace in mind and freedom to do things at their own.
