2081  Economy / Economics / Re: Is corona virus crisis changing economical equations around the world? on: January 10, 2021, 12:43:04 PM
Unfortunately for Trump he was unable to read people correctly this time, economic considerations took a backseat and the biggest concern for the US citizens became the pandemic, as such a great deal of people disagreed with the handling of the pandemic by the US government, this without a doubt played a big factor in determining who will win, and since we are talking about the most powerful country of the world this will change history as well, I just hope it is for the better.

What he failed to understand was that the economic condition was also closely linked to the well being of the population. He could have taken a cautious approach against the pandemic, rather than being a motormouth. The infections and deaths would have happened anyway (even the European countries which went through tough lockdowns reported more deaths per million when compared to the United States), but it was Trump's refusal to take the pandemic seriously which cost him the election.
2082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 10, 2021, 12:37:03 PM
Overlapping international schedule with the BBL is not new trend for Australia. They are playing Boxing day test match or series continuously since 80s and BBL comes during the summer so its obvious both events clashes with each other every time so nothing related to Indian tour.

If I am not wrong, this time the broadcasters are not happy with the scheduling and they are suing CA. At this point, it was a bad decision from the part of the board to schedule the Indian tour exactly overlapping the BBL. Actually the BBL started well with the domestic Australian audience, with more than 700,000 viewers for the initial matches. But it declined later, as the national team started its matches against India. The viewership for BBL in India is also down by a lot, for obvious reasons.
2083  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla overtake Amazon? on: January 10, 2021, 12:07:12 PM
Testla shares has soar way more % gain than Amazoon Stock  Tongue

That's true. But right now, Tesla is looking like the most overpriced asset in this planet. For Tesla, the annual revenues as per their report in 2019 stood at less than $25 billion. The net income was negative, and stood at -$0.9 billion. On the other hand, for Amazon the annual revenues for 2019 stood at $281 billion and the net income (after taxation) stood at $11.6 billion. Both of them can't even be compared. The revenues for AMZN is more than 11 times that of TSLA. But people are accumulating the TSLA stock like there is no tomorrow.
2084  Economy / Economics / Re: Will India be more progressive in the coming years? on: January 08, 2021, 06:59:59 AM
We know that India is the one has grew more population in the world but the Indian government is open minded to solve the problem in there country. Also the people in India has a good education and also good profession that can help a lot there.

Cryptocurrencies there is very popular and if the government still blocking or banning this in there county it is a big lost. Like other said crypto can help also the economy of every country because its can give a work or income to the user of it. And we know that every countries have need to accept this because its very helpful to us.

Population explosion is the root cause for most of the issues in India. The population has already touched 1.4 billion and it is growing by around 25 million every year. Only around 1% of the population pays any income tax at all. That means that this 1% needs to subsidize the remaining 99%. The tax burden is very heavy on those who are in the tax bracket. With the Bitcoin prices increasing quite sharply, I expect the government to tighten the cryptocurrency trade within the country and increase the tax rates.
2085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: January 07, 2021, 04:31:44 PM
Today it looks like Kerala Blaster will get their second win. They were able to score a goal in just 7 minutes of the match. Odisha is a weak opponent. They have not yet won. a single match. Kerala Blaster has a chance to easily get 3 points today. Let's see if they can win until the end.

LOL.. it was really funny though. This is not the first time that Kerala Blasters lose a match after scoring first. It has happened numerous times in the previous seasons. I was watching the second half of the match, and the reaction from the Blasters coach and bench was worth the wait.  Grin

This win is not of much use for Odisha, as they remain at the rock bottom (just one win form 9 matches). Blasters also have 1 win from their 9 matches, but they have one point more than Odisha. And this means that East Bengal is now promoted to the 9th place in the points table.
2086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 06, 2021, 07:15:55 PM
@Indymoney mate, I totally agree with you. Many thought that since the new Prime Minister of Pakistan was a former cricketer, he might take appropriate steps for the development of cricket. We don't know if he has taken any action. But so far I have not seen any improvement in Pakistan's game. On the contrary, they are declining day by day. At the moment all forms of corruption must be stopped from the board of Pakistan. Then it is hoped that in the next few years the Pakistan team will regain its reputation.

You are blaming the decline of Pakistani cricket on the administration. IMO, it is not that easy. Management is not the only reason why the performance is going down. I had already pointed out other factors in my previous posts. The poor quality of domestic cricket and lack of proper cricketing infrastructure are some of the reasons. The Pakistani first class cricket still remains in a very bad state. Unless the quality of domestic cricket is improved, I don't expect any miracles in the long term.
2087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 1$ every day in bitcoin over the last five years on: January 05, 2021, 05:13:32 PM
This thread was posted almost an year back and now the values would have changed a lot. As per OP, if we had invested $1 every day in Bitcoin from 2015 to 2020, then we could have ended up with a profit of $20,405 from an investment of $1,858. But back then, the exchange rate was $9,276 per coin. It has increased to $32,646.59 as of now. Since nothing else has changed, the equation becomes something like this:

A profit of $71,815 from an investment of $1,858. That is an ROI of 3,865%.
2088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today Bitcoin Turns 12 Years ! on: January 04, 2021, 05:28:09 PM
note: first blcok wasn't found until january 9th. Wink
Isn't the genesis block the first block? I guess you were referring to #1 block which is the 2nd block of bitcoin blockchain. Genesis block = 0 doesn't mean that it's not the first block. As you can see the definition here-
Quote
Genesis Block is the name of the first block of Bitcoin ever mined.
Source- Investopedia

OK.. so that would mean that Bitcoin was first mined on 3rd January 2009? Block number 0 is having a timestamp of 2009-01-03 23:45. And the next block (Block #1) is having a timestamp of 2009-01-09 08:24.

So the OP is indeed correct and we celebrated the 12th birthday of Bitcoin on 3rd January. @rdbase, you were wrong mate. BTW, even I was confused for a while. I was thinking that Block #1 was the first block that was mined.
2089  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown due to covid19 is painful on: January 04, 2021, 05:10:47 PM
I don't believe with vaccine and better waiting after many time try to other people and work so I will try, better waiting how vaccine give effect or not because I hear many trying before failed with many people get bad situation after testing by vaccine. But I still trust medical healthy always have new way how to make covid 19 gone and give us freedom for our activities in daily day. We have tired every day have use mask and not freedom to get air in the world.

By all probability, you need to wait for at least 6 to 12 months, even if you are willing to take the vaccine. Because the first few batches of the vaccine will be exclusively reserved for the priority population (i.e medical workers, elderly, policemen, ambulance drivers.etc). I guess that much time is enough for you, to decide whether you want to go for the vaccination or not. If there are any serious side effects coming from the vaccination, then you should be aware of it by the time your turn is up.
2090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: January 04, 2021, 12:38:05 PM
There's certainly a lot more, the only advantage of Logan Paul here is his age.

That advantage came little use for him, when he got whacked by KSI. Actually I am surprised that most of the posters consider this match to be serious. Common.. this is an exhibition match between one of the legends in the history of boxing and a complete amateur. If the fight is real, it will be all over in 30 seconds and it is not going to last even a microsecond longer than that. But that is not going to happen, as everything will be acted on the stage as per the script.
2091  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying a Tesla with Bitcoin on: January 04, 2021, 10:13:03 AM
damn tesla is getting cheaper and cheaper as bitcoin price sky rockets . most of the btc hodlers can soon own them self one ( a tesla car )

How many Bitcoiners own more than 1 BTC? Rpietila once calculated that around 350,000 do so. The link can be found below:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=316297.0

The calculation is around 6 years old and I strongly suspect that the numbers might have fallen further over the years. Even if we take the same figure, it means that only 0.005% of the world's population own more than 1 BTC.
2092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of 2018 BTC aftermath on: January 03, 2021, 12:19:15 PM
As we all enjoy the current btc uptrend, it is becoming a glorious moment watching btc moving up and up. it looks like a trade we all hope for. on daily base, BTC price keeps moving up without signs of dropping. personally, i think the funds are coming from XRP dumpers. also i am skeptical because markets always correct itself no matter what.
i think what happened in 2018 will still repeat it self. BTC might fall back to 20,000 but we never know when and how but for now, lets enjoy the sweet ride to 40,000

I have to disagree. What happened in 2018 may not repeat this time. Because those who dumped their coins in 2018 are regretting about their decision right now. Now most of the cryptocurrency users are aware of this pump-and-dump cycle that repeats every four years. Therefore very few of them are going to dump their coins this time, even if there is a correction.

And BTW, it is too early to talk about correction and the prices going back to $20K. Because we are not yet done with the rally.
2093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 03, 2021, 12:07:23 PM
Sri Lanka in a lot of trouble against South Africa. They are at 98/6, with Wiaan Mulder and Anrich Nortje having picked up three wickets each. Mulder is just 22 years old and if New Zealand or England can convince him to get a passport with them, then he is going to be such a good asset for them. I wasn't expecting much from Sri Lanka anyway.. so not much surprised.

BTW, is anyone going to argue, if I claim that New Zealand is having the best pace bowling lineup right now? Kyle Jamieson is playing his 6th test match, and so far he has picked up 30 wickets at an average of 14.33. And they have enough depth in their squad, with bowlers such as Neil Wagner, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry.
2094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance.US is going to suspend XRP trading and deposit on: January 03, 2021, 12:01:22 PM
US based exchanges don't have any other option, but to delist XRP. Anyway, it is not going to have much of an impact. Although XRP was the third largest cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization, its trade volume was not even in the top-10. Also, the XRP user base numbered much less than that of the other coins, such as Litecoin, Ethereum Classic and Bitcoin Cash.
2095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 31, 2020, 01:05:20 PM
We all discussing about the awards got by the men cricketers. We need to take into conversation about the ICC Female Cricketers. Ellyse Perry making a clean sweep grabbing awards on the three categories is really a big achievement. ICC Cricketer of the Decade, ICC Women's ODI Player of the Decade and Women's T20I Player of the Decade.

Women's cricket has only the fraction of the popularity that the men's game enjoy right now. Hardly anyone attend the women's matches in the subcontinent. In countries such as Australia, New Zealand and England, they have managed to build small but loyal fan armies for the women's national teams. And the WBBL has been the biggest push for the women's game, for the last two decades. It has grown in popularity, and has become even bigger than the women's world cup.
2096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP - The Biggest Scam in Digital Currency History on: December 29, 2020, 04:41:17 PM
You mean, all centralized exchange platform must not be patronize? how about Binance, Kucoin, and more that are asking KYC,  those are centralized platform isn't that right? And As far as I heard about in XRP where up to now still they are facing some issues, in which I think its not good to buy or hold for the long term about this coin of Ripple it was really not a goo time for it, probably when the issues is done, perhaps I could say they can continue invest in it again.

It will be wrong to compare cryptocurrencies with exchanges. With exchanges, you always have a choice in using the Dex sites and P2P platforms. All that said, investing in XRP doesn't look a wise decision now. When investing in cryptocurrency, I always respect one of the golden rules - don't try to catch the falling knife. It's price has fallen from 4,200 Satoshis to less than 700 Satoshis in a matter of few days. It will go down even further in the coming days. You are going to regret, if you make an investment at this point.
2097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP - The 2nd Biggest Scam in Digital Currency History on: December 29, 2020, 01:46:43 PM
I think Ripple is risky as its centralization but to say the one is scam, I don't agree with you. You can call it as centralized cryptocurrency and consider their developers as liars if they seeded wrong term and usecases for their coin as the lawsuit pointed out. But they are not scammers in term of language and accusation, personally I think so.

In a strict sense, I may agree with you that it can't be classified as an all-out scam. But consider these facts - XRP had almost a 100% premine. The promoters still own somewhere between 80% and 90% of the circulating supply (either directly, or indirectly through firms such as the Ripple foundation). The promoters created an artificial scarcity, by keeping most of the tokens away from trading. This helped them to inflate the exchange rates, and the market cap. These practices would be illegal, if XRP was an equity and the trading was done through a stock exchange.
2098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $20 000 BTC. We did it on: December 29, 2020, 01:26:13 PM
Actually I was expecting a sharp correction by the end of this year, but it never materialized. I guess rather than pulling out some of their coins to fund their vacations, most of the cryptocurrency users are staying at home due to the worsening COVID 19 scenario. Normally we witness some sort of mass selloff during the last two weeks of December every year. This time it didn't happened.
2099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP - The 2nd Biggest Scam in Digital Currency History on: December 29, 2020, 11:48:48 AM
You can check the posts that I made about XRP many years ago. I have always tried to warn newbies about XRP. But the problem with scam projects such as XRP is that they are very good in spreading their propaganda through social media. It is easy to convince the new and inexperienced users to invest in such projects, promising sky high returns. Anyway, the results are there for everyone to see. The XRP prices have fallen from 3,600 Satoshis to around 800 Satoshis in just one month. I sympathize with everyone who lost their money in XRP, but you guys were warned.
2100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2021 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Qualifiers! on: December 29, 2020, 11:37:09 AM
Yes. North Macedonia is qualified for the Euro 2020 which will be played in 2021 if they don’t postpone it again. They are not as strong as Spain,Portugal and Italy so it is only normal for them to have those high odds. I agree Goran Pandev brought positivity and winning mentality there which made them qualify for Euro for the first time.

The fact that they qualified for the main tournament itself should be a big achievement. I am not sure whether they will be able to progress from the group stage. Netherlands is an extremely strong team and they are likely to top the C group. Now the battle for the second position is between Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia. If they finish at the 3rd position, then they go to the knockout phase.

BTW, I am thinking about making a bet in favor of Spain. For me, none of the other teams look capable of winning the tournament.
