2081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 25, 2017, 01:30:40 PM
I'll try to keep the butt hurt to a minimum, but I was on the site at 6:30pm HKG time and kept getting connection timeout messages. Finally added to cart after like 20mins, but by the time I got to checkout they were sold out. I was on an iPad with LTE connection, was that the problem? It seemed impossible to get any of the pages to load and process an order.

I paid in LTC and not sure if I'd paid in BTC I would have got one..they gave you only 1/2 hour

so damn.....literally were sold out in 53 min from the guy posting 1 min and 33secs on the bitmain D3 thread

to the guy posting they were out at the 54min mark

so what 52min they had some in stock

either bitmain is putting out small batches bit by bit ..or the big data hall guys also are in our boat
with no x11 stuff around..and just get on and order 500 at a pop

it is one reason or the other they went so frigging fast

but for me..I'd pay in LTC if anyone wants to get one in the future to be safe......

also, you have to kinda save each confirm page to a print file due to if bitmain screws up (often) that took

me 11 min or so ..had to put shipping address in and all that as a new account

keep that in mind to

I also was SITTING on the site for 1/2 hour before the sale..and when the time hit the lag was BIG
so not sure I could have even log'd on when they site went live

anyway things for folk to consider on the next go around

They stated 50 max order on their site . . but for orders larger than that to contact them so who knows what happens / limit / possible discount at that quantity O_O

Damn, 3 btc is a lot.
But here's  bump to you sir. Smiley

Not related, but - which PSU are you using (Bitmain or computer psu) and whats the power draw?
Thanks
Just an asking price, price is certainly negotiable Cheesy esp. with current BTC price

I'm running a custom PSU has 10 PCIE connections 1600w 90% efficiency, runs nice and cool, it's drawing around 3-4 amps I can double check in a bit

Tried to help my buddy get a D3, but needed a lot more info in the shipping info of account as opposed to when he ordered one L3+, so he missed the sale xD

Wish they would announce a time a day in advance so we could simply set an alarm clock, however it's also nice their sale wasn't at 3 am or some nonsense like the pandaminer sales were. .

Also if anyone is interested selling my 1 week old L3+, only ASIC I have asking the market asking price of 3 btc, it's obo I'm not unreasonable if anyone is interested

2088  Economy / Computer hardware / SOLD Antminer L3+ USA in hand (Virginia) on: July 25, 2017, 11:59:32 AM
SOLD

I purchased a Bitmain Antminer L3+ and it has been mining perfectly for about a week. I have decided to sell it because it is my only ASIC in my small GPU farm and I'm looking for more uniformity. I can include my PSU if interested.

SOLD

Payment in BTC, Dash, Aragon, possibly paypal if gifted - Escrow is fine, fees are buyers expense.

Will upload more pictures and a video later

2091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU's to mine ZCASH with? on: July 22, 2017, 07:44:35 AM
There was a point that $7/day on ZEC was possible - but that was a couple weeks ago when profitability on almost ALL coins peaked.
It's dropped a LOT since then on almost everything.

RX series cards have been recovering quite a bit on pricing the last week - if you're lucky enough to sneak in an order when someone HAS some at a low price, and usually on the mining-specific cards.

I managed to snag *ONE* Sapphire RX 470 card out of NewEgg over the last week....

What price did you pay for that rx470?

What was original batch shipping date?

sep 15-25 i think
Have they posted any information on batch 2? I have found nothing on it personally other than "coming soon" no reply to my email to them

2095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining v0018 on: July 20, 2017, 01:25:42 PM
I have a major issue, all of my miners just completely turned off 30 minutes ago,

Room was around 80 degrees, they never rebooted, breaker wasn't tripped, I have one asic miner in there and it was mining away when I walked in while every other machine was sitting there off?

Any idea on what happened? How can I figure out more and how can I prevent this from happening in the future?

If they are all powered off; I'm not sure what would have caused that.

If they are still on / but not mining:

I would look at one and see if there is a connection problem with the pool.  This is the most likely reason for a large number of rigs to simultaneously stop mining.

pool disconnect detection and mitigation / auto failover can be improved in a later version

Right now; if the pool server goes down: the rig will reinitialize 1bash 5 times then, reboot.  This will occur in a larger loop until the pool server is reachable.

This occurs because when the pool is not providing work, the GPU utilization will be below 90.

Any idea why they would stay turned off though? The pool did not go down / I called my buddy his rigs on your software on the same pool had no issue?

I have a whole house surge protector, but could it still be a powe surge?

2097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Kil-a-watt meter for 240v? on: July 20, 2017, 12:24:08 AM
The kil-a-watt that I have says it should only be used for 100-120v. I want to check my total wattage being used on my 240v items, but I can't seem to find a product that can do that.

Plus, it wouldn't even fit, because my 240v does't use standard plugs, obviously. I have a NEMA 240v twist-lock connected to a PDU.

Thanks!

What kind of PDU are you using? Many PDUs have network management features, where you can track current for individual outlets and able to disable them if you exceed max amperage.

Therefore, you don't even need a energy meter like kill-a-watt, as most professional grade PDUs will have inbuilt feature, which are more advanced than consumer grade energy meters.

I have this PDU
Dell-AP6031-PDU-4-Outlet-200-240V-24A-Power-Distribution-Unit-5T439
Using these PDU Extensions:
HP Proliant Modular PDU Extension Bar HSTNR-PS03 411273-002
And then plug in the PCs using:
IEC 320 NEMA C13 C14 10A 18AWG PDU to CPU AC Power Cords

All bought on eBay.

I am not sure about the features of that PDU, but I am planning to use this APC's AP 7841 PDU (http://www.ebay.com/itm/APC-AP7841-Metered-Rack-PDU-24-Outlet-Power-Distribution-Strip-200-208VAC-/302364837712) and it has network management features. So maybe you can consider that for future use with your set-up.

Btw...are you using the 240V Dryer outlet at home to connect this PDU?
What management features does they 7841 have?

2099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: July 20, 2017, 12:01:51 AM
Thoughts on litecoin diff / impending increase of diff as July l3+ get delivered and many more coming in the next 2 months?

I don't understand why the miners sell so high right now, it seems it may make more sense to sell the miner now vs mining with it?
2100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3+ hashrate reported vs effective hashrate on pool on: July 19, 2017, 04:16:16 AM
used the same pool at least for 24 hours ,then you going to see your real average hashrate for 24 hours Smiley
i have a few l3+ the reported hashrate on the miner is almost the same what i got on the pool side avg , sometimes more on pool side sometimes a little bit less .Max +/- 10 MH/s /24 hours
It's since leveled out to plus or minus 10 as you said, what pool do you rec. ?
