2126  Economy / Economics / Re: What Comes After Paper Money, Part 1: Fiat's Obvious Failure on: February 04, 2015, 11:25:01 PM
Fiat hasn't failed yet.

I don't think "Crypto obviously" is an obvious answer. A more obvious answer is a consolidation of fiat currencies (like the Euro). Or a move to a hard asset commodity.
2127  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] casascius coin, smaller donimination, 0.5 + 0.1. EU preferred on: February 04, 2015, 09:14:30 PM
There are a lot of sellers on this forum. If you don't get specific response to this thread, read through some of the Casascius threads and PM people directly.

Also, you can find these coins on eBay but recently the prices have been ridiculously high.

Good luck, sounds like a great gift!
2128  Economy / Collectibles / Re: casascius 2013 brass 0.5 and 1.0 individuals and sealed rolls on: February 04, 2015, 09:11:36 PM
Thanks for the detail, love the system except for one detail...

What if you never get 40 coins reserved? Will I ever get the coins I reserve with the deposit (hypothetically)? I'm putting money at risk on an order that I never know will be fulfilled.

Also, what does the "any" designation mean? Is that a reservation where someone has not specifically requested a specific coin in the roll?

Thanks.
2129  Economy / Economics / Re: How do YOU define the classes? on: February 04, 2015, 09:01:49 PM

To me, the lower class is defined by anyone who depends upon someone else for theirs or their family's survival.

The upper class are those who make money work for them and, if necessary, could live from this income.

Everyone else is in the middle class.

You're explaining the symptom of not making enough money. If someone only makes $10,000 a year, they'll be dependent on someone else because it is very difficult to live on that low amount of money (in the US at least). That's why people use numbers, because it's a way to measure how much one needs to be a certain level of dependency year over year.

By your rationale most retirees are "upper class" because they live off of their investments (i.e., 401k accounts, etc.). They could only get $35,000 a year in income from those investments but because they don't work to create that income you'd call them upper class. They have to live on a strict budget, have little extra money to have the freedom to do things, yet you'd call them upper class. On the other end of the spectrum you have the stereotypical single mother of a few kids working three jobs to make the same $35,000 a year, living a very meager life to provide for kids on this small income and you'd consider them middle class. This is where your logic doesn't pass test for me.

I think your logic is good for another assessment. Maybe it's an "independence factor" or a "contribution factor"...the less dependent you are on others the more independence you have or contribution you make. I don't think it's a measure of economic class.
2130  Economy / Economics / Re: How do YOU define the classes? on: February 04, 2015, 08:49:54 PM
Classes are irrelevant.

The classes aren't driven by income, they're driven by social etiquette, hobbies, and attitudes toward society. Those three things require more money in one class than another. I.e., the "rich" social class prefers clubs and fine food and fine material things and these things all cost more money. I don't believe that anyone who comes into money all of a sudden wants to engage in these activities...it's definitely activity and attitude driven.

Also, class status has more importance depending on the country you live in. In India class status is a very big deal. In the US class status is only a big deal for those that think they're in the "high" class or those that desire to be. Most people don't subscribe much to living by social classes. I could make $250,000 a year or $80,000 a year and I'd have a very similar lifestyle, the same hobbies, and the same group of friends.

Hello Wink
Thanks for the update.
Just wondering: why this coin has been funded twice?
https://blockchain.info/fr/address/12CDrJVn55VrCe7fByxGXpyNoYsfuQkdxd
Also, why did you decide to break two rolls (out of the four)? According to your rates,
it would have been more interested for you to sell the four rolls intact. Did i miss
something?
Still interested though.
Can you please provide me your bitcoin address in order to book the coins. Thanks Wink

looks like someone sent "satoshi's" ie  0.00000001 BTC to some of these coins

honestly no idea why that is done but I have often gotten micro deposits to addresses that i have coins on

i would love to sell the rolls intact (think of how much less work that would be!!) but the market of people with 45-70 BTC to spend is much smaller then the market of people willing to spend 0.8-1.3 and up

i'll be messaging to find out which coins you are looking to reserve and if you want to use escrow or direct

There's a thought that Casascius coins are most valuable when they have ONLY the original BTC1 from Mike funded on the coin. People will send 1 satoshi to random coins in an effort to "vandalize" the coin or devalue that specific coin. I think peopled do it out of jealousy. This is just a theory, I've never seen this characteristic impact or prevent a sale.

2133  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Updated List of ADMITTED False Flag Attacks on: February 03, 2015, 08:06:35 AM
False Flags have existed for life. But even with all these facts out there, I still refuse to believe 9/11 was an inside job. Call me anything, my brain just refuses to believe that one.

Haha, there are no facts out there to suggest 9/11 was an inside job. It's all hearsay and speculation, none of it are facts.
2134  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Updated List of ADMITTED False Flag Attacks on: February 03, 2015, 08:04:48 AM
If you're serious and not just messing, a false flag is basically where usually a ruling government entity ( or otherwise ) deliberately uses their own people or allies as a target to increase support for their causes or to incite hatred towards a particualr group. To a much lesser extent what are called agent provocateurs were used quite a lot in protests such as the G20 summits and it was done using police officers who got dressed up in masks and acted as violent protestors so that the police would have an excuse to go in and arrest everyone.

I was serious, thanks for explaining it.
2135  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you? One Commercial field, one for you family - 101 farming. on: February 02, 2015, 11:55:20 PM
I'd make the shoes the right way, the ethical way, because I'd value the long term relationship with my customers.

Some business folks don't give a shit about the 'ethical way' (Monsanto for example) so they are willing to pay the "cost" of the bad publicity and turn over in customers.

As long as the buyer has the information available to make an informed purchase either way is acceptable. The market is free because sellers are allowed to sell almost anything they want and buyers have the information to make their purchases. The best products will survive and the rest will fail.

2140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Bitcoin Elite' to Gather on Secret Island for Bilderberg-Style Retreat on: February 02, 2015, 11:41:11 PM
This is a more appropriate post about this meeting than the first one by the douche bag that advertised it with a very clear "sorry, we're all booked though, suckers" vibe to it.

An meeting for the "elite of BTC" goes against all that Bitcoin stands for. Now it's unrealistic for everyone to be able to attend the same meeting (nothing would get done) but it is realistic to expect that all info discussed be shared openly with the community.

I hope what's discussed at this meeting is available for the public to read and comment on as well.
