2121  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sending payments with blockchain API on: October 13, 2014, 03:47:12 AM
Ok I requested and received my API key. Still I get nothing when I run it. No errors, just a blank page.
Not sure why I can't figure this out.  Huh  I think I'm going to try coinbase API instead
2122  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sending payments with blockchain API on: October 12, 2014, 01:49:58 PM
Oh yea
I even tried something super simple such as getting a balance and I'm getting no response. Do I have to get whitelisted to use their API?

Code:
Fetching the wallet balance

Fetch the balance of a wallet. This should be used as an estimate only and will include unconfirmed transactions and possibly double spends.

https://blockchain.info/merchant/$guid/balance?password=$main_password

It's probably something on your side, I didn't have to when I set the API up on my VPS. Are you trying this on a shared host?

I'm using my web server, it's hossted similar to godaddy. I pay monthly it has been a decent service, been using them for ~10 years.
I have no issues calling the buy/sell APIs from bitstamp and btc-e, finex. This is the first time I've tried blockchain API...

I found an example on stackexchange as well and even that won't work...
I'm starting to think I need to request an API code (https://blockchain.info/api/api_create_code)

Can someone help me understand why the send BTC blockchain api isn't working for me?

Nothing happens. The only errors I get is when I try to call the array for transaction id and it indicates nothing exists.

Code:
<?php

$guid
="removed for obvious reasons";
$main_password="removed for obvious reasons";
$amount"10000";
$address "1M72Sfpbz1BPpXFHz9m3CdqATR44Jvaydd"// seans outpost
$from "1B95ndjwJG8VtiHVfoVHJwhUZ62VpnCxvr"// a test wallet with a little BTC in it
$fee "10000";
$note "Donating to seansoutpost";

function
makeDonation($url){
$decode file_get_contents($url);
return
json_decode($decodetrue);
}

$donateURL makeDonation('https://blockchain.info/merchant/$guid/payment?password=$main_password&to=$address&amount=$amount&from=$from&fee=$fee&note=$note');
$donateMsg $donateURL["tx_hash"];

echo
"Success transaction ID " .$donateMsg;
?>

I changed the json part a little and I took out the second password since I don't have a second password.
No idea what I'm missing here...

I'm working off of this:
https://blockchain.info/api/blockchain_wallet_api

Note there's an error on their list of variables. They list $to but there is no $to, it's $address according to their url.

2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is old 3.5 floppy safer than USB drive for cold storage? on: October 07, 2014, 02:09:00 AM
I dunno I used to always use floppys back in the day, because that's all there were. I had DOOM on, what was it, 4 floppys? It worked fine, but then after 5 years or so they corrupted and stop working, so I always made back ups and back ups of back ups. Flopps are not reliable enough. I prefer to store them on a paper wallet created offline.

2132  Economy / Speculation / Re: 40 Days Until Liftoff... on: October 01, 2014, 04:45:06 PM
I chose probably because I'm hopeful, but I wouldn't be surprised if we broke the 12 month rule.
A ton of new money will need to enter the exchanges for the price to rise.
2133  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: easyDice - you can win, but you can't lose! on: October 01, 2014, 01:11:23 PM
This first week of testing went okay. I got a few players and a few dickheads. The latter required me to shut down a few nights ago, and then relaunch with a bot check. Also there were several people who try to put their BTC address in when cashing out, sorry to break it to you but that won't work. It has to be a changetip username. Overall testing went well with no major snags.

and as promised to the highscorers...

1st place (0.01BTC) - Labkitty (1044)
2nd place (0.001BTC) - Labkitty (1040)
3rd place (0.0001BTC) - Labkitty (1038)

edmundduke came in a close 4th (1036)

Highscores have been reset and the same bonuses will be paid out next Wednesday to the top 3 highscorers.
2134  Economy / Speculation / Re: [prediction] Next spike $560,000 14 months from now on: September 30, 2014, 10:34:27 PM
Why do people get upset about other people speculating on the speculation sub-forum?

If mainstream adoption happens the price will have to rise significantly in order to cover larger transactions. If company A wants to buy company B with bitcion for $50 million, they would have to find somewhere to buy 125,000 bitcoins at today's price. With the limited supply this isn't practical at all. The price must rise if adoption becomes more widespread.
2135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices @ $377 lowest seen so far !!! on: September 29, 2014, 11:13:45 PM
Looks like we'll be testing April's low of $339.  If we brake below that, then the next $ amount I'd look out for is the high of ~$270 from April 2013. The fact we weren't able to stay up after last weeks paypal news just reconfirms the bear market.

This exactly. The huge news from paypal meant nothing. There has to be a fundamental change for this trend to reverse itself.

The winklevoss etf is the only thing I can see that would do it.

I'm thinking the winkle ETF could help as well. But I also think this latest Circle news could really turn things around. Give it time, a few months, now we can adopt new users semi-globally who can buy and use bitcoin almost instantly.

Nice little fun when one has some spare time, I got to 450 on the first few rolls but didn't cashed out. Anyways my changetip is this > http://twisterswirl.tip.me/

Thanks for playing, I went ahead and sent you your winnings.  Wink You need to hit "cashout" once you hit the cashout limit (currently set at 550) and before you bust then it will prompt you for your changetip addy and add you to the high score table.
2138  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: easyDice - you can win, but you can't lose! on: September 29, 2014, 06:13:45 PM
Got a few players, thanks for checking it out.

For those of you trying to paste in your BTC address where you are supposed to enter your ChangeTip name, I will be unable to send your reward.
2139  Economy / Service Announcements / easyDice - you can win, but you can't lose! [CLOSED] on: September 28, 2014, 06:01:44 PM

Do you have patience? Are you persistent? That's all this game requires!

You can play and top up your ChangeTip account.
It's similar to a faucet, but there are no time limit restraints. You can cashout almost instantly.
The only restraint there is LIMIT 5 CASHOUTS PER 24 HOUR PERIOD

It takes a little patience and persistence. Don't get discouraged after your first few tries, I'm able to hit the cashout limit pretty consistently in just a few minutes.

http://www.btcthreads.com/easyDice  (this is where it is for now...)

OBJECT of the game is to pick a number less than what the computer rolls. Low #'s are safer but low payout, higher #'s are riskier but bigger payout. If you lose just once, your balance resets, so it behooves you to cash out once you reach the cash out limit, or you can test your luck and try to get a high score.

Compete for the high score! Once a week on Wednesdays I'll pay out bonuses to those with the top 3 highest scores. At that time, high scores will be reset to allow another week of competition.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ChangeTip address is activated to receive tips!! Check your settings, if it is not then I cannot send you your winnings

Here's the rebuilt version doing all the scoring server side. Added some string sanitation as well.
