Why are we talking about China again?
2122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn, Foundation's Law & Policy Chair, is pushing blacklists right now on: November 14, 2013, 05:01:01 PM
Mike is being naive thinking it will only be used to stop bad guys. We have all seen this before, the filters and restrictions eventually move outwards and infect all areas of a system.

This "redlist" will eventually only allow approved coins that are matched name and address to a government database. In one fell swoop Mike destroys all the positives Satoshi installed in the Bitcoin system.

If the government is not satisfied with your credentials, you will not be allowed to buy things with your coins, the coins will start to have two different values, one value for the government approved coins that can be used to buy things, and another for those dark coins that are no longer useful.

Also no one will have any incentive to accept dark coins because they run the risk of having their business shut down because their wallet got added to the dark coin list by their government.

This will allow the government to trace everyones money, decided what businesses are allowed to do business and quickly destroy the wealth of dissidents and opposition.

My question: Is Mike really this naive?
2123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn, Foundation's Law & Policy Chair, is pushing blacklists right now on: November 14, 2013, 04:39:14 PM
And Bitcoin starts to rip itself to pieces just as it goes mainstream...

How predictable, the human element always destroys everything.

Will Mike post here and answer to us?

Hell will freeze over before Douglas steals anyone's bitcoins.

I am sure you know thats not true, I thought it was common knowledge that Dooglus's magic number was 100,000 bitcoins? Good thing people stopped investing too much!

Where can I find details about this new exchange?
2126  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 14, 2013, 08:23:49 AM
I am sure i am not the only one who is not interested in trading at the moment (i want the dividends) - although I understand those of you who do want to trade.

But if the cost of listing on yet another temporary exchange is Ken spending his time transferring shares etc then i do not think it is in the best interest of the company. I would prefer him to spend his time getting everything prepared for a mass ASIC deployment.

And those of you who want to see a huge upswing in share price, don't you think it would be an even higher swing if we had our farm deployed BEFORE listing on an exchange? Imagine the hype as the bell sounds and trading begins when everyone knows what is up for grabs and what the future holds!?

Just my two satoshis

Yeah this is true.
2127  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 14, 2013, 08:13:57 AM
I was thinking, especially as there is going to be a lot of share price action over the next month, could we transfer our shares to https://cryptostocks.com for the time being until a better long term solution is found? At least this will allow us to price the stock and trade it.

not nice, and i dont like the fee for withdraw

Damn $2 to withdraw! I did not see that!

What are they thinking, that is 50x the standard Bitcoin transaction fee.

However do we have anyother way to take advantage of good news at the moment?

So did Ken ever confirm if this $1 Mil sale was actually paid for or not?

Ken made no confirmation. The really important thing is getting our miners up and running. I am sure if we get many TH/s online then people will start buying miners from us.
I don't think eASIC would have made that press release if the payment was not completed.

We are not talking about eASIC, but about a recent million dollar order for our 24TH/s miners. Nothing about eASIC at all.

However a switch that turns all amounts into real time dollar amounts would be cool.

Improvement idea:

With the bitcoin-price rising to new heights every day, it's probably cooler for gamblers to bet "integers" than "floats" (i.e. bet 5 mbtc instead of 0.005 btc). Guess that would make people feel better about themselves when betting.
Since wales probably dont like the change, maybe it can be made an optional choice via some checkbox.

I don't know if that's a great idea.  I can see a scenario where someone accidentally bets 10 BTC when they meant to bet 10 mbtc or vice versa they make a mbtc wager and win when they thought they were betting BTC.  I suppose if the price keeps going ballistic eventually we will switch to mbtc but I am only warning of a potential drawback.

Changing denominations is a risky idea. People will bet the wrong amount.

The format right now is plenty fine. I just think the site needs a makeover that's all.

You should be outside working your ass of in real life to pay for your mums medical expenses. Working this forum for free Bitcoins is not the way to go.

Go outside, get a job, earn fiat to get your mum better. If you don't do this it means you do not care about your mum.

Even if your situation is real I am going to save you some time. Most people are going to think you are a scammer and I doubt you will get any money off of this forum.

I suggest posting a plea for help in the local newspaper and perhaps get on your local TV. You have far more chance to help your mum that way.

796.com looks like a good exchange. Ken any chance this can be where the main pass through lives?
2138  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does anyone know how i can get 0.04? on: November 14, 2013, 04:10:24 AM

Learn to code, lots of 13 - 15 year olds that freelance web design and such these days.

Next option, go to primedice and gamble the free faucet money.
2139  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Blockchains 'quick send' option flawed? on: November 14, 2013, 03:14:32 AM
You want to always add a fee.

Even sending $10,000 without a fee can take 6 hours to process as there are so many transactions already paying their way.
2140  Economy / Securities / Re: [Bitfunder] Ukyo please process the withdraw request. on: November 14, 2013, 03:07:29 AM
If I am reading this correctly, Ukyo is bitcoin broke and cannot process withdrawals.

I wonder what the solution is? Can you instead move the Bitcoin back to Bitfunder and buy something like ASICMINER, then transfer ASICMINER shares to Havelock and then sell to get Bitcoin?
