Datacenter once went up to 250Th but went down afterwards?
Ken, what's going on??
Is our 250Th datacenter ready?

Spikes in the graph that large are most likely due to DDOS on Eligius or a server error.
1222  Economy / Securities / Re: [Active Mining] The UNofficial Active Mining Discussion Thread [UNmoderated] on: April 30, 2014, 03:16:19 AM
Two ongoing investigations.

I just want some bitcoin back, I feel like the end is near. It'll be a miracle if Ken pulls this off and survives the investigations.

But first, he needs to get square with our customers.
1223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 29, 2014, 08:32:43 AM
the price was lower than IPO,why Huh
msc was cheaper than btc to invest safecoin, why Huh
hope time tell us its a good invest, but i just look at it.

Price was lower than Bitcoin to MaidSafecoin IPO, not the Mastercoin to MaidSafecoin IPO.

0.00002 was apparently higher than the IPO for Mastercoin users.

So the only losers are the people who put Bitcoin into MaidSafecoin.
1224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 29, 2014, 04:10:45 AM
They responded earlier by beating around the bush about how the ipo was a big shock and they want to thank everybody blah blah blah. Basically they anticipated that msc would rise to 0.2 from people buying it to exchange for msafe, which is a clear pump-and-dump on their part. The project does have promise, but they really messed up their ipo.

Well they can very easily make it right for us. Give the bitcoin holders x% more maidsafecoin.

There is still time to right the wrongs.
1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 29, 2014, 03:58:07 AM
How could Maidsafe make this right? Could they offer extra all the people that used bitcoin extra maidsafecoin?

Of course. I would call it giving bitcoin investors equal to what the mastercoin investors received. In a regulated market what happened with maidsafe would actually be illegal.

Yeah the more I am reading into this the more concerned I am.

This explains the instant price drop post-IPO, I had no idea the offering wasn't equal.

I hope Maidsafe does right by us.

Does Maidsafe want to respond?

I am with 100% Reinvestment after a Good Faith event has been proven with our shares. By this I mean we have our shares and some Dividend has been paid out for it. Specifically I am with 100% reinvestment if these things happen:

  • Shareholders get access to our shares on a exchange the majority has accepted. Whether it be some Decentralized Exchange/Havelock/(Whatever)
  • A legitimate Financial Audit happens (I don't want Ken to just reinvest 100% if it isn't going to help anything)
  • Ken lays our a plan for the realistic plan for the foreseeable future. By this I mean that Ken lays out a path, really any path that can hold up to criticism about where he wants to take this company over the next 6-9 Months.

I am a long time shareholder, plan to stay a long time shareholder, and I doubt my views line up with everyone here. If anyone disagrees with me please let me know I am always willing to listen/learn.

I would most certainly be ok with 90% reinvestment after such a "good faith" event. If we are trading and getting the 10% dividend for example.

The reason why I am no longer ok with super high reinvestment is because many of these investigations have taken 12 months, and thats a very long time in the world of Bitcoin to get access to our property. Essentially the investigation has taken our very shareholder rights away and we are awaiting the US Government in being allowed to have our property returned to us. Because of this I would love to get the dividend so if the investigation forces Ken to shut down and lose our investment, we still make off with a little amount of our original invested amounts.

Even if I can get one bitcoin returned from the dividend it's better than zero for my 400-500 bitcoin investment in this company.
1229  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: April 28, 2014, 05:11:10 PM
Hi Ken,

So we have these One Gold Rush boards on the site now and the listing says they are 512GH/s but the details section ('Board Highlights') says they are 750TH/s. You also said they were typically 750 so must be a typo in the listing?

It also says under availability - 'more coming soon'. So does that mean we have sold a bunch of these? If so can you say how many roughly and where the profit from these boards will go? Are you doing a 100% reinvest into the company or are you setting some aside for the shareholders?

btw I think the majority on here have said they are happy with the idea of a 100% reinvest for now as we get the business going.

Thanks man.

I was only ok with 100% reinvest because I assumed share trading was around the corner. Now we know an investigation can take 12 months I am sure many people will back me in at least getting 25% - 40% of profit paid out direct as a dividend to our addresses. Many of us would like the dividend now instead of next year.

I am in agreement for 60% - 75% of profits being reinvested however.

Who agrees with me?
1230  Economy / Securities / Re: [Active Mining] The UNofficial Active Mining Discussion Thread [UNmoderated] on: April 27, 2014, 06:18:49 PM
drawingthesun aren't you the guy that was defending ken a few months ago when i was asking questions in the Moderated thread? I see that now you changed your mind about him Smiley

You misunderstand, I was defending Ken when we were still within timeline of the eASIC deal.

After November came and gone I became very skeptical.

I have been very skeptical this whole year, I doubt I was defending Ken just a 'few months' ago.

The only defense I ever made was not to get the law involved because that would equal never getting a cent back. Looks like I was right, the MSD will put an end to my investment and ruin my entire fortune.
1231  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Side chains vs Tree chains on: April 27, 2014, 04:26:38 PM
Can someone explain the difference between Side chains and Tree chains like I am 5, or 2.

I understand that Side chains suffer from the fact that they need to be mined separately or via merged mining, but many attacks open up because of this.

In addition a 51% attack on bitcoin itself becomes more likely due to the huge financial incentive, where bitcoins in their pegged state can be completely stolen.

Does the Tree chain solve these issues?
1232  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Satoshi only spent 50 BTC. Here's where those coins are now on: April 27, 2014, 04:20:15 PM
Any possible news of satoshi's coins would hurt Bitcoin.
They're gone? That's 1m btc wasted for eternity.
They're spendable? One person could ruin the market, and it could be called a pyramid scheme as a whole.
They're donated suddenly? That's a million btc about to be sold by charities to help people.
A little bit spent? Well now we know satosji can spend them all, which could kill us.
For now, no news is very good news.

I agree with this, Satoshi moving coins would probably send a bad vibe/ripple through the market.

However, I believe Satoshi should surface and move the coins sooner rather than later, to get the impact out the way with.

He could do some good will, like donate 500,000 coins to ease people's fears. Donate coin to every charity in the world. The price of bitcoin would depress for about a year, but come back more resilient with less fear of a single person holding such power over the circulation.

Satoshi would still have 500,000 bitcoin, on the path to becoming the richest person in the world, and the charity news would put bitcoin on everyone's radar, the price might even rebound in hours, not years!
1233  Economy / Securities / Re: [Active Mining] The UNofficial Active Mining Discussion Thread [UNmoderated] on: April 27, 2014, 03:50:59 PM
lol

Yeah on CryptoTrade, no-one is selling anywhere near the 0.0005 price they loaded up on. 0.0085 is the average price now.
And it's pretty much 0.001 on CS.
Very low volume on both = no-one is selling cheap.

DTS is just a sad little immature wanker who clings on to the shirt tails of any passing Troll because he actually has no friends - internet friends (no matter how degraded or dirty they are) make him feel better.

He runs around calling people 'stupid little bitches' LOL and posts about 40 times a day with half of those posts for the company and half against!
He is a weird weird mix.

Have fun rubbing each other off in here Troll boys, you are great company for each other. I see this thread as like the 'calm' wing of a psychiatric hospital - where the nurse occasionally forgets to hand out the meds in time.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I'm a weird mix because this company is a weird mix; We are offering the public hardware at <$2/GHs but the website is still showing obsolete products, we are mining but the shareholders are still entitled to nothing in return for putting up the funds for the company.

Yeah I want us to do well, but at the same time the lack of dividend is really making me angry. I'm not sure why I have to keep repeating this, I want my dividend. I would be less angry if the investors that paid for everything were getting something back.
1234  Economy / Securities / Re: [Active Mining] The UNofficial Active Mining Discussion Thread [UNmoderated] on: April 27, 2014, 12:26:30 PM
I believe most real shareholders aren't active on the monitored thread.  We are quickly silenced.

I'm active, but Minerpart calls me names. Sad

These "stupid" people must have a reason for posting their comments.  Perhaps they are paid.  Perhaps they are long term shareholders with the goal of increasing ActM share value even if it means posting fluff.

The situation is as follows:

  • Everyone regrets investing.
  • Some want to desperately make the company look good to the MSD.
  • All want out.
  • There are trolls.
  • No one has any idea what is going on.
  • This is a knowledge vacuum, and a vacuum is easily filled by air, sometimes hot air.

I also note the poster adjacent to this was just deleted. Yes it was a bit harsh. It is dangerous to censor though in such circumstances

This isn't a moderated topic, how can censorship be happening here?

dirvine, will your team be now building code everyday, and will this code be open on github or closed until launch?

I have noticed most of the core files on your repo [github] have not been updated in months.
1238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Safecoin maidsafecoin on: April 27, 2014, 09:31:30 AM
It's hard to believe they've been looking at crypto currencies for 3 months as they don't seem to understand even the most basic things about them! looks like people are still buying them but not sure what will happen when the two 3rds of the market who got their coins for free join in the fun.

Sorry, what 2/3 of the market got MaidSafecoin for free?
1239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Safecoin maidsafecoin on: April 27, 2014, 09:21:42 AM
what is situation with this safecoin? scam or not?

It seems no core Maidsafe dev has spoken.

All the code repo updates are mainly from the time of the first marketing hype 3 months ago [wired1].

I'm not sure, it seems like this was a marketing blitz as I don't see any real substance.

EDIT: There was another thread I wasn't aware of2

Aren't you guys tired of all the NDA lies from ken?

Ken hasn't said NDA in a long time. Ken has just be silent about all the juicy details of his own volition.
