1481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So do Bitcoiners actually claim the foundation wasn't infiltrated? on: March 06, 2014, 04:10:28 PM
Kinda why nobody serious actually follows the Foundation client anymore.

Are you talking about the reference client? Isn't the reference client responsible for 90%+ of all full Bitcoin nodes.
1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 06, 2014, 04:01:35 PM
Bitcoin drops 40 dollars at the news of finding the long lost father of Bitcoin.  Grin

I always said, when I learn that Satoshi Nakamoto is Satoshi Nakamoto, I'd no longer have a good reason to own bitcoins anymore.  Right?  I mean, if we know who created bitcoin, what reason is there to own them?  It just doesn't make sense anymore.

In case this isn't sarcasm.

Satoshi's entire point was to move away from the project and allow it to grow of it's own accord. Satoshi made himself irrelevant to the well being of Bitcoin.

Therefore, whilst this news is interesting, it's certainly not a cause for concern.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If that really is Satoshi, how can we help him? on: March 06, 2014, 03:19:18 PM
If that really is Satoshi, how can we help him?

Won't he need bodyguards asap?

Yeah he will need bodyguards. But he won't use his bitcoin because that will blow his cover for sure. So it's one of those go to the grave with your secrets kind of situations.

I feel really bad for Satoshi. He seems like a decent guy and obviously brilliant.

1484  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 06, 2014, 11:09:07 AM
Look guys Ken screwed up big time and lost 25% of our finances on Gox. There is no getting this back.

All we can hope for is the 28nm being finished and produced very soon. We need to make some profits now.
1485  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 06, 2014, 05:40:20 AM

Remember Active Mining has paid out or is going to pay out $ 462,115.81  in dividends.  So, Active Mining has gave a lot of money back.

Ken this is such a lie.

You paid back 90% of that money when the price was $100 a bitcoin.

Please prove ownership of a 1500 bitcoin address. Your going to have to use our funds to pay back our customers.
1486  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 03, 2014, 07:09:31 PM
Is it safe to still use SwC for poker?
Yes.
I'm not sure if this sealsdeals is run by the same people
No.
I just want to play poker but am getting the feeling SwC is shady?
No.

Thanks dude.

It's hard to know who to trust these days. I play on SwC often but saw some chatter and wanted to see what was up. Smiley
1487  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 03, 2014, 06:45:52 PM
Not sure what all this stuff about bets and sealsdeals is, but one question:

Is it safe to still use SwC for poker? I'm not sure if this sealsdeals is run by the same people, I just want to play poker but am getting the feeling SwC is shady?

Please let me know.
1488  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 03, 2014, 06:13:43 PM
People ask questions, often very good ones, that he flatly ignores for no good reason and responds to others with short sentences that say nothing.

Unfortunately this is true and no one can deny that this operation has always been opaque.

I do not believe there is a 28nm product coming.

Whilst this is pure speculation, you raise an important question; many of us forget that the IPO raised just enough money for the Avalons and eASIC chip.

Many of us are constantly asking for some information regarding how we can afford a much more powerful chip than the IPO funds could have ever provided. If we don't have the money then what is going on?

I do not believe money was lost on MtGox.

Again many will tell you that this is baseless speculation, I don't like that we lost money on Gox and it feels far too convenient. I have voiced these concerns on the #actm channel and people can only point to speculation of the bitcoin price as a possible reason.

This makes no sense because day trading and speculation is hard, most lose money and it's almost pure gambling. Also Gox has not been the place for speculation for a long long time.

What's the address to the Bitcoin wallet that holds the funds?

This will never ever ever happen I am 100% sure. I have asked Ken this repeatedly since I have been invested. It's a very easy thing to do, I am certain that if Ken proved to own an address with over 1000 bitcoin the investors would be much calmer. However I believe Ken never did this because he would have to answer to us when he moved money around. He has moved money to speculate on Gox which he didn't want us to know about.

Also I believe the only money we had left to buy 'Peoples ASIC' was the Avalon refund, (our last funds) and Ken has most likely parted with the money entirely. There is no other way to buy out this other company. Ken continues to ignore all questions regarding company funds.

Show us some physical proof that this 28nm project is actually happening.  Photos or scans or design documents.  Something...

Even getting the engineers to talk on chat. I haven't talked to anyone in ActiveMining that seemed to know technical things. I don't want to be disrespectful to Ken but the huge amount of technical errors in his posts and interviews worries me greatly. I think he is intelligent but under immense stress, with every post scrutinized by dozens of angry investors it must be difficult to remain emotionally stable.

I'm sure other people here can think of other ways to reassure investors like me.

Perhaps you're easy to reassure, I have not heard of anything reassuring in a long time, every post Ken makes scares me.
1489  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 03, 2014, 09:26:41 AM
Ken must immediately tell us how much this 28nm is costing us. We originally raised $1,000,000 for the eASIC and got 1000 bitcoin back from Avalon.

So the 1,000,000 is likely gone and I believe most of the 1000 was used to buy people's ASIC. Add into the mix funds missing because of MtGox I doubt we have any money left.

Also it's very well known the minmum cost for a custom 28nm is 2 - 3 million with the average price being 5 - 7 million. So we have no money left but somehow can afford an ASIC far more expensive that we could have afforded last year.

Ken, you need to transparent now and tell us how this is possible. Perhaps we can speak to one of the engineers?

1490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Gavin Andresen Sincere when he says he cares deeply about privacy in Bitcoin? on: March 03, 2014, 03:40:36 AM
It's safe to assume Gavin Andresen is compromised, if not now it's certainly true for the future.

The US Government was able to influence and silence even the largest tech companies. Once Gavins wife and child are in the firing line I guarantee there will be no true anonymity in Bitcoin.

This should not surprise any of you. Many core developers want regulation, non anonymous bitcoin transactions and even CoinValidation for those bad criminal coins.

Satoshi did not ask for permission and Satoshi did not take it up the ass.

The next incarnation of Bitcoin will be spearheaded by another anonymous genius.
1491  Economy / Securities / Re: [Active Mining] The UNofficial Active Mining Discussion Thread [UNmoderated] on: March 02, 2014, 06:28:26 PM
^if thats true, then holy shit. 55nm out the window, and the recently announced 28nm is probably barely off the ground.

but more importantly: why would they store bitcoins at mt. Gox? that is absoulely insane, and more then enough reason to avoid ACTM if they cant implement a simple offline storage

It would be fun to watch him try a third IPO, to "complete the 28nm ASIC project."  After all, there's no way in hell he has the money for it now, and ActM "investors" just love that type of crap.

Edit @drawingthesun:  It is heartbreaking watching you ignore the sound advice *repeatedly* offered you by *numerous* intelligent people.  Heartbreaking.

I already made the mistake of investing. I was left with two options with various risk/reward playouts:

1) Legally force the company to liquidize. I will perhaps get under 1 bitcoin back for all that I have invested after the legal fees are paid out. 95% - 99% chance of working.

2) Let Ken have his way, give him the chance to return to investors 20% - 90% of our original invested amounts over several years. We never break even but have bitcoin in our wallets. 0.5% - 5% chance of working.

I still think that taking option 2 was the best course of action. Yeah it's like playing a lottery. I don't care so much for folding and getting 1 bitcoin.
1492  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 02, 2014, 05:58:57 PM
Ken; if the reason the 55nm has been cancelled is because of the chips being unprofitable due to the low Bitcoin price (<$900) then I urge you to reconsider. It's highly likely that the Bitcoin price is >$900 by the time the 55nm is hashing. Remember it's not like we will have the 55nm in our hands within the next few weeks. Most estimates put the 55nm in mid April.

We can expect the 28nm in September perhaps? Not sure why any coin was on MtGox, coinbase is the prefered place for getting in/out of bitcoin and also Gox has had issues with withdrawing for the entire life of ActiveMining.

This makes no sense to me.

Do you remember when I told you to take legal action so you could prevent Ken from turning any more of your money into garbage?

Well here we are, $1M in expenses, 4 months of salary for Ken and his children later.  Do you still think I was giving you bad advice?

I still think your advice was bad.

My view has been like this for a long time now; the investors have nothing, the company is worth zilch. However I believed there to be a small (1-4%) chance that Ken makes an ASIC and this would be the only way to get a real return. Taking that risk was the only real way to get a decent amount of Bitcoin back, rather than the peanuts splitting $1,000,000 (if that) over 10,000,000 shares.

Of course this means I was willing to accept a 95%++ chance of never getting anything back.

This direction is the 95%++ chance playing out.

I am very disappointed to hear about the cancellation of the 55nm.

Ken, you are making the most terrible decision and if this decision is being made because of information we do not know about, please enlighten us.

The 55nm would have served two purposes:

1) We would create our own mine in which we can start making bitcoins. Most calculations by the investors show this will allow for a little profit, and any profit is good at this point.

2) More importantly it will restore investor and customer confidence in ActiveMining. Once we build our own ASIC device we would then belong to a small and special group of companies that have the title 'ASIC builder'. The trolls would have less to say and we would have real results for our money.

The fact is we have no material to show for the thousands of bitcoin invested into this company, the 55nm would have been our first stepping stone to becoming legit. No matter what you may think, until we have our own ActiveMining built ASIC, we are not and never will be legit.

I'm talking about the just over 100% profit, in excess of $140,000 I just made. You?

That's amazing. Smiley

I wonder if we'll get similar gains from ActM one day?

theSwede should also be implicated since he was also part of this organization

Swede is given a pass jail card because he lost some coin too and didn't realize the truth.

I've always been of the opinion his a liar and he got you lot into this mess with his reputation. He deserves justice.

also, there has been a 600TH jump at ASICMINER in the last 24hrs… the competition is becoming insanely more fierce.

Is this all they are expecting to put online?

If thats a joke Its not funny  Angry

He is being sarcastic, referencing the shills that keep spouting nonsense advising you lot to be cool and wait it out. The CryptoTrade people are to be trusted and to be given all the time in the world.

Through Sarcasm Nick is showing you all how perverse the entire situation is.

It's like saying you go into a lift and it malfunctioned and you are trapped inside. You press the help button and was told help will come in 30mins. 2 days gone, nevermind don't have to panic, stay calm, help will definitely come. Don't worry about it...if help didn't come, it is okay and the mistake is yours, cause no one forced you to go into the lift in the first place. Don't demand and expect so much, give them a break...they are busy working around the clock to even bother to update you...they will definitely come......stay calm.

you people with your demands and your expectations! you should give crypto-trade a break, they have been working very hard for you, and now they are no doubt working around the clock trying to fix what are after all YOUR mistakes (who sent money to crypto-trade? was it santa claus? no? of course not.  it was YOU wasn't it!)

Wow.

Just wow!

So much wow!

I'll give everyone here a little hint; I've been through too many scams to count, it's possible this isn't a scam however it's highly likely the two above posters are being paid off by the CryptoTrade team.

No one shuts down a site with customer funds and then says "wait a while", "it'll be ok!", "This was your fault for trusting us!" unless something weird was going on.

There is a chance this is a legit hack, but the more time goes on with shills posting "calming, trusting messages for the community" the more chance your coins are safe, in their pockets.

Rule number one when your site is hacked: Talk often, be transparent and get customers their money ASAP. At the moment CryptoTrade are doing the complete opposite and the only communication is coming from the paid shills.
